Post by: yamasis on January 21, 2020, 03:03:15 AM

Going short or long has got me so much money but at the same time, it makes me too bold.

Now what?

Stop doing it? or Start diversified investment in Stock?

or Not at all?

let me guess, surely you do leverage trading, leverage trading can indeed maximize profit, but the risk is also very big, very not recommended especially for beginners, in this forum there are many who trade bitcoin but don't lose all bitcoin, so far my bitcoin is still okay, because I trade normally without leverage.

If you're bullish on bitcoin on the long term, why not just simply hold it? Historically, just simply holding bitcoin can earn you a good amount of gains. And not only that, when you passively hold bitcoin, you have time to do some other productive things instead! You can use the time(that you're not trading) to learn stuff and start businesses.

But of course, control your risk. Bitcoin, stocks, and businesses. Don't go all in.

With diversified way of investment the risk is low. Same time if the investment is made all in one automatically the risk will be high. To the risk taken if things go good a big profit can be made out of it, or else it'll be of loss. When diversified the growth differing between various assets will minimize the loss and give profit even when the market conditions weren't good for trading.

Looks like you have to do verification or do some more research about the investment because all investments will have risks so don't be easy to give up so easily because there are still many opportunities ahead for investing in bitcoin.
Bitcoin is now also an opportunity why because prices have dropped below $ 9,000 and of course this will rise again after a few days to believe about your investment and do not despair.

I see a lamb being led to the alter lol. Those type of tradings would definitely get you some good profits but if you are not careful and get too greedy you can lose everything within a flash. Never be swayed by the market by going in with all your funds, always go in with something small to make a substantial amount of profits. Avoid trading with huge leverages in the attempt of maximizing  your profits, you only lose your investment money way too fast if things go downside.

I'm sure no one here will say "stop investing in Bitcoin". But there's a difference between trading and investing, and you should learn that.

Through trading, you try to multiply your balance. You do that when you've gotten enough experience and studied graphics long emo urgh to consider yourself a possibly good trader to some extent, but you still have to know there is always a risk of losing this way.

Yes, holding an asset for the long term without shorting/longing it on the short term means trading too, but it involves a smaller risk. At least this way you only lose what you've bought. Daily trading can leave you in the end with a smaller portfolio value (if the price decreases) AND with a smaller amount of Bitcoins in it if you don't know what you're doing and lose through trading.

So either study trading long enough to know what you're doing or buy & hold.

Whatever makes you comfortable is the best choice that you should pick, stock investment is not that bad also if you know how to play with it correctly but the only disadvantage of stocks is you need to wait for a long period if time in order to gain a better profit.

Unlike in crypto in which the possibility in earning a good amount of money is pretty high if the market will start to move upward. Or you can just split your investment in stock and in crypto 50/50 then see for yourself if what investment will give you a better ROI.

Stop doing it?

well you should look at your success rate history for at least a year and see if you were only getting lucky and making profit or were you actually making profit because your analysis was good and closest to reality and that made you make profit.
if it is t he former then you must stay away from trading and if it is the later then continue doing it.

but i'm guessing based on your topic title your trading strategy might have been more like a shot in the dark that sometimes hit the target in which case you might want to make some major changes in your approach.

You probably have to improve your trading strategy. Diversification is only useful if you're investing for some time and not swing-trading every now and then.

You can do both of them. Use some of your money to swing trade, and the left-over to invest in potential stocks after you research for days about them. If you can find another 'Amazon' or 'AMD', your return is probably better than shorting or longing Bitcoin every day.

If you do trade with leverage trading (like what another members guess) I think you should stop and learn more about leverage trading.

I dont understand why there are still people like you who has lost the invested amount in Bitcoin going for a long term holding. I mean, holding and monitoring the market every now and then isn't a hard task to do.
Most cases like this happened to those who rush and trade to earn good profit. It's never easy to trade btw, specifically short or day trading. Now, compose yourself up move on, recover and then decide.

True most of the traders who lose too much are the one's who always rush things up.
They don't want to study how to trade properly and how to lessen the risk in trading.
I think OP needs to use his experience and learn from it and look what he/she did wrong.

It's your choice if you want to stop investing in bitcoin, you are not alone on that situation. if you can still do it and you have funds to do it, why not? learn from mistake and make it your experience for your next move. the risk now are totally high if you are not gaining knowledge and you are basing of your thoughts.

make your own decision. so far, I aim to hold back until halving occurs. I am pretty sure that the potential is still very large to rise. for now, the price of bitcoin has not yet developed after the increase is quite good, but in a few days, I think the price of bitcoin will rise again. however, this also applies to other altcoins. if you plan to look for stocks, try to find one that doesn't have a big risk.

1.Getting scammed by someone.
2.Your wallet/account was hacked.
3.Sending btc to the wrong address.
Posting such threads here just won't help you.Like other people said.Get over it and move on.Shit happens.

they are the one who are looking for easy money and they think bitcoin can give it to them easily. There is no easy money it needs time and effort monitoring price movement before you can earn profit from your investment . Loosing is also part of investment so if you experience the lost move on and take it as a lesson.

You have think smartly now and choose what is better for you, otherwise you will feel when something goes wrong with your choose. Because when i was the same situation at 2017, what situation you are now and i take decision to started a small business, now it is running successfully. So better understate your situation and take better option what is comfortable for you.

Proper manipulation of your coin is much important rather than focusing on earning. You also need to maintain or improve your strategies that keeps you away from losing profits. That's right, that you don't need to invest anything in order to earn more money. Sometimes, a small amount of coins will do, depending on how you will handle it and make it worth it. Also don't just hold, try some efficient and effective altcoin while bitcoin's price is still low.

whatever you choose then it is your right, you need to be confident in the developments you will make next. I refer you to make a business in the real world, and so on, you can convert the funds again in this industry. if you leave this industry I think you will learn new things again elsewhere, so if you want to invest elsewhere then don't leave the crypto investment in full.

Very well said. You are right. He is the one who holds his own fate and also the success of himself depends upon how hardwork he is and I think it is good if you invest in both real world and here in the virtual world. And yes you should try new things most especially business if you reslly want to increase your money savings.

Do you trade leverage? Because it is impossible for non-leveraged trading to lose all bitcoin. At least you only lose by its value.
Diversification is a way that I think is good for minimizing risk, because if one loss there is a possibility that the other is not necessarily loss. Not only stocks, cryptocurrency can also be diversified, so don't limit yourself if diversification can only be done on the stock market.

If the strategies you use are not effective then think of other ways or simply hold. Dont make it too complicated because even you dont do anything to your bitcoin you can still earn by simply holding and wait for price pump, less stress for your part.

But still it depends on your plan, if you want to diversify then do it, but dont forget to take time learning before investing your hard-earned money.

I think this is your own carelessness, and don't see a very good situation to invest in several factors, so for that reason think for a moment to do what you have done and risk losing your money. Maybe from here you can take lessons in a number of things to do something that is very valuable for you to understand.

if you think diversification of investments in the stock market is good for you, just do what you think is good, because whatever it is shares and crypto investments all have their own risks, but if it's not good you think just leave it, because everyone trades in crypto or shares of course you already understand the risks, so you can start which one you think is safe, but if you don't want to be at risk it's better to leave and don't have to invest anything

Margin, leverage these kind of trading options are only for expert and financially strong traders because it's very high risky way to trade and they can afford it this is the simple point which is necessary to understand for beginners and average skill traders anyway I won't say that forget about the mistakes which you have done in past because the mistakes are good lesson for you and it will be helpful for you to establish yourself again just don't loose your confidence.

control of an activity is necessary, in my opinion, trading using the long and short methods is the same as bet. it's just this margin version. when you don't control everything, losing is the biggest risk. better now is to start to buy and hold bitcoin. this is a form of passive investment. and not disturb your emotions. This is better for an investment without the risk of being out of control.

Just start focusing on your job and return to bitcoin if you have some money to invest, money other than your personal savings. because if you engage in this industry too early, you will end up losing everything you have. That's why most of the people who want to invest in BTC are working to gather enough knowledge before doing so and FYI not all of them are successful. only those who have enough patience can hold longer to this volatile market.

That is what leverage trading is all about. That is why it is somehow comparable to gambling because it could give you x100 profit very quickly but it could also take everything from you in a blink of an eye. Leverage trading is best to those who have a lot of experience in trading already.

Don't stop trading but if you are not yet very knowledgeable about that kind of trading, you better start and get better in spot trading first before jumping into the use of leverage. That is a double-edged sword that as sweet as it is dangerous.

I don't see the connection of your title to what you want to ask. That's your money and you can continue your plans of holding it. Determine yourself for shorting or going long right now. You can diversify as much as you want but the very tip that I'll tell you is don't leave your bitcoin investment and never sold all of it. Sell some for diversification but still allocate an amount for a longer time so that if bitcoin ever pumps again and grows naturally, you still have something to get.

It must be the case, leverage trading is good because it can give you big profits but that is if you predicted it correctly but it not then it could make you broke as hell. For me, leverage trading is good but only use small percentage of leverage and only spend the amount you can afford to lose, don’t gamble all your money while doing leverage trading.

Did you rush the process?

I bet you did.
Did you even try to learn the movement first?
History, daily movements, and everything that needs to be done before trading it?
If you didn't, then you might want to step back first. It will just get worse if you continue it.
Better to just save more and get ready.

trading leverage can indeed be profitable, but as you said don't use lots of funds when trading in this way. and must know the potential time when doing, and certainly accuracy is important. what used to make failure is the emotional level, because I once traded in a way to leverage but I could not control the emotions that finally made my funds run out and ended up holding for quite a long time.

You should change your mindset. You believe in the tech or you don’t, if you are just in for short term profits and not willing to put time and effort in it, you will lose. I recommend instead of trading, just do investing in Bitcoin and Hold for at least 3 years. I love HODLing because people who believe in the tech aren’t stressing out everyday. All those ignorant quick profit seekers deserve to lose. It’s not about any coin it’s about the tech and one thing for sure, this tech is gonna change the world as we know it, and although I lost too mush in day trading, but I’m still loving it and I learned to invest and HODL.

Stop doing trading? I think you should but don't stop investing on Bitcoin but instead change your strategy from trading to buy and hold strategy :)

Diversifying your funds into different investments is a good idea only if you have a large funds. Having a large fund means that you can pick many stocks and invest big amount of money there. If you don't have that much money, 2-3 investments is fine already (disregard Bitcoin). In the end, it is your decision to make. We are just sharing our opinions. Good luck :)

Go on what you feel like is right. If you want to push investment in bitcoin which most the people here would recommend I suggest you go and study more things about trading, more knowledge will help you profit. Now if you feel like you want to push investing in bonds because you feel it more to be better than bitcoin then go, nonetheless, both of them are good investments.

Why stop trading? Just because you failed in it once does not mean you will fail in it all the time and the rest of your life. Learn something from it and make yourself a better trader in the future. Every trader failed many times in their lives as a trader. That is something I am 100% certain. The road to expertise and success will have failures on it.

Its good to diversify to have more options and buffer in case of losses. There are really situations to loss in trading and I personally experience it too. Nevertheless, I'm still encourage to earn and trade bitcoin. Its part of the risks that we need to prepare and that is diversification of our assets.

If you have lost your Bitcoin because of a long decision, everything doesn't end there. You must go on with your life. There are lots of things being offered outside cryptocurrency if you have lost all your hope for this. You have to move forward and learn from your mistakes. You can't blame Bitcoin because Btc alone will still be a digital currency without us. Try to continue learning while searching for more opportunities to earn. We can't do trading perfectly without losing sometimes.

thats impossible if you will loose on both terms most especially on long term because long term is known as the less risky or safe way . if you loose it only means that something isnt right on what you do . it does need to diversify if you are only investing in bitcoin but you can diversify if you decide to pour the money on other coins  .   depends on you if you want to stop or continue  .  if you are tired of the same sh*t then better take some rest  . and learn more a while  .

Leverage trading is actually a very risky form, you can make a lot of money with it but also quickly burn the whole account if the market does not go according to your predictions. I also did not choose this trading method, I traded the traditional way and so far I am fine. Not losing too much since joining this market

The first lesson in trading about patience. If trading without patience. All is destroyed. Assets will be lost. Especially in margin trading. When you are correct in predictions, it will be more than 2x (depending on leverage) but if you are wrong. All will be gone. After what you experience, it's best to buy with the rest of your funds and start trading calmly.

Well, that is your mistake. But I guess that you use leverage trading as many members said. If you don't have good skills in trading, then leveraged trading is not recommended for you.

stocks is way far from Crypto investing and if you want to diversify ?then start finding good altcoin to put some percent of your money.
not unless if you have a Knowledge on how stocks goes?then maybe
considering it is one of the option.
just stay in Long time Holding and just leave it for sometime.
so when you come back there is a changes in your investments value.

most experienced traders will tell you the same thing. Trading with x1 or x2 leverage is ok but going high like 5x+ is not trading but gambling. There are people who make money liquidating noob traders because it's easy and profitable when you have enough money to do it.

Well I think you should have studied the market first you should know that the market is volatile and can go wild in a matter of minutes. If you ever studied the market you should have known that there's a risk on doing trade and the volatility of it of course if you ever find the market will go bullish you shouldn't be greedy and set an amount on where you will jump and if you see that the market is going bearish after you bought a coin you should set a limit.

It's alright to accept that you lose a small trade because sometimes if you don't jump from bearish market it will damage you more.

Maybe stop doing short selling because it is risky. Cryptocurrency investing is already very volatile so there is no need to add more risk. I suggest buy Bitcoins and hold for about a year.

Go back and analyze your errors. Are you aware on bitcoins volatility or crypto overall? If you havent and just newly jumped to this market then better familiarize it because this market
isnt the same with forex or stocks which do have lesser level of volatility. This one is different yet price can swing up on big percentage on one day or even an hour.
Stop doing it? Your choice but if you do accept losses and learn from it then try it once again but this time you are knowledgeable and experienced already. You would able to
tell the difference when you do already able to grasp it in.

Well, this is a wise choice rather than having to rack my brain looking for various benefits from crypto or other businesses, it's better to hold bitcoin for some time. no need to worry about missing information about it, because all information about it will still be available here.

At present all prices on the market are not very clear to predict, if everyone chooses to buy bitcoin at this time it might be very difficult, seeing that bitcoin prices are already very expensive than Ethereum prices tend to be too cheap, I prefer to buy Ethereum instead of buying Bitcoin which is obviously very expensive, if you want to look for better profits look for coins that are cheaper and have a good future for long-term grasp ..

What to do with ones fund is subject to individual decision. Margin trading nonetheless is more of a gamble where the possibility of loosing all outweighs the possibility of winning big time. It is responsible not to go all in when it comes to margin trading as the risk involved is too high. It is better to diversify your cash into other sector.

Indeed, before plunging into investment, it's good if someone understands it first, as well as investing in crypto which is volatile and can cause loss of all assets. Maybe if you already understand then anyone will not be too brave to take actions that can cause loss of assets. There is no other way, you must be able to get up and be more careful in investing and not putting all eggs in one basket.

thats impossible if you will loose on both terms most especially on long term because long term is known as the less risky or safe way . if you loose it only means that something isnt right on what you do .
He might be doing options trading which is really risky because it all depends upon the price trend at a particular period before the contract ends and he might have busted everything doing that rather than going for the safe option of buying and holding, this is a good lesson for everyone who wants to jump into options trading without knowing the risk involved. If you have a lot of money to risk then it is a good way to make or break your balance.

the market will not always favor to you this is one of the thing traders should know
being confident in your investment is a good thing but being bold in trading not necessary right
by taking more risk you have a higher chance of losing all your money
it better to diversify your investment and invests higher to the thing you have trust with low risk

Maybe what he did was he hold it when the price seems continuously rising, then when it just rapidly dropped, he panicked and sell some of his bitcoin hoping it would rise up again in a short period of time, and it did, then he repeated again what he did, so in the end, he ended up losing his bitcoin as well as his profits, that's it.

Quitting is never a good option, but as you have already experienced a lot in this market you can excel in many ways. As in diversification, you will determine percentages for the distribution of different assets. Diversified investment will reduce the chances of risk and increase the chances of success. You should go for the diversification it will benefit you both in short term and long term investments.

This is true. Knowledge is also better then money because with the right knowledge you can earn lots of money just by applying it to some sort of trade or service. Losing money hurts now but maybe in 5 or 10 years you make it and you made it because you never gave up and now that amount you lose is nothing compared to the amount you gained later on.

Having Bitcoin The key is only one, not greedy when you have benefited, both from trading and investment.
Because it often happens to someone who is greedy when he has benefited but he did not take that advantage and eventually he lost it all.

Why don't you just analyze your trading pattern and see what went wrong? Learn from your mistakes. See how you could have done better. Try to understand the market. The crypto market is not like your traditional stock market. They have no fixed patterns that you can follow. Analyze the market for deeply before you invest. This of your current loss as a price you paid for learning more. At least you now have some practical knowledge. Don't just give up. And yeah, I would suggest you to diversify your investment.

Usually, losses can make people aware and try harder in learning the right strategy for trading, some others give up without learning more, your decision is in your hands, OP. make mistakes as learning, let alone cryptocurrency is full of risks, besides preparing strategies it also requires a strong mentality.  respect the decisions you've made, don't regret it if you lose, and make it a good lesson if you make money.  one thing that is important, understand your passion, all in risk is indeed high, so if you are not sure then choose another strategy.

Op should be able to learn from the mistakes he made, by finding out where the location of the error is so that he can correct deeper the mistakes he made so that no losses will occur again. if he is easily discouraged and gives up to leave bitcoin then the decision he takes will certainly later regret it for not trying to get back the capital he has spent investing in bitcoin

There's no such thing that you will loss all of your bitcoin into trading, either the coin that you are holding turned out to be a scam project or some exchange scam you, What I think is you are doing a leverage trading, If you are doing that, it is almost a gambling so for me I think considering that you can lose your money in one big dump. I highly suggest that you should avoid leverage trading if you are just starting in trading or you are not sure about trade. Personally, I am doing leverage trading if there's strong news which I think it will affect bitcoin in massive way. btw, good luck to you, I hope you will continue to trade, just be careful next time, and don't think your trade as a lose of money, just think what you learned on that trade and what knowledge you gain from it. Good luck mate!

You probably bought your BTC when it was high as sold it in a panic mode when it hit an all-time low. That shouldn't be a character of an investor, honestly. If you go short term, you need to be updated on what's going on with the crypto market every day, which is a bit less concern for someone who hold BTC for the long term.

Anyway, if you are still testing the waters never invest bigger than the amount you would accept to lose. Just a little money at first then you can increase it gradually. Don't invest without knowledge as much as possible. Research is the key always.

I'm sure you lost all the bitcoin you have due to lack of knowledge and experience in the crypto world, and there is a possibility the

Are you experienced in investing in stock markets? If yes, than you can go for them if you are intrepid with leverage trading. Reading and understanding you I am sure you are talking about leverage trading to go long and short on the market price to make quick profits. This method is really useful if you have the guts to make some research but price going in opposite direction might give you huge loss so it is also treated as much riskier.

You could move to margin trading if you want to start trading with higher amount than your actual capital is. This might seems interesting for you and you might again turn back to cryptocurrency trading.

well you should look at your success rate history for at least a year and see if you were only getting lucky and making profit or were you actually making profit because your analysis was good and closest to reality and that made you make profit.
if it is t he former then you must stay away from trading and if it is the later then continue doing it.

but i'm guessing based on your topic title your trading strategy might have been more like a shot in the dark that sometimes hit the target in which case you might want to make some major changes in your approach.
Well you need to better check if your earning is quite continues atleast a bit a month or probably a year too for the sake of your money. Gettig lucky is very hard to get, it might comes in our life but not  always. Make some analysis in the stock market and make it a basis in making some decision in investing. The best way also to earn and gain more profit is be good at making decisions and strategy. Knowledge is a good thing that one person can have that might help us on our life.

Just go the way that works for you. I hate leverage trading, there is no way I can lose all my bitcoin doing a spot trading with USDT/BTC and not trading some shit altcoins. The quest to make more money can lead to greed that may eventually consume one.
Leverage will never have a good return to us, instead, it is a way to lose everything we have.

Thus, if you are wanting to be in trading...better to find another strategy that is suited to our capabilities and knowledge. For it, it is important to know our position, knows coins we are going to trade for that is the only way we are able to save from losing in the end.

Now, compose yourself up move on, recover and then decide.
they are the one who are looking for easy money and they think bitcoin can give it to them easily. There is no easy money it needs time and effort monitoring price movement before you can earn profit from your investment . Loosing is also part of investment so if you experience the lost move on and take it as a lesson.
Losing is quite certain especially from an investment that is why there is a belief that you should invest only an amount you can afford losing because there is a risk. There is no such thing as an assured profit especially in crypto wherein volatility is in nature of the market. Also do not get cartied away by the opinion of the majority such that "the market price will reach $$$$$$ at the end of the month" simply because no one could really predict how will the market behave.

There are already many stories of lost bitcoin due to leverage trading. We need to be aware of what we are getting into. We must know what we're dealing especially for newbies who are excited to double or triple their profit, know that at those  price will have a correspond risk which is bigger than expected. We need to studied trading before entering.

Having no experience in margin trading, beginners tend to get as much profit as possible. And as a rule, the maximum leverage is chosen instead of the minimum risk. This is exactly the case when you can lose your entire Deposit if you do not close the transaction in time.

Well trading is always risky therefore I do think that you should have known since the starting that the faster it goes up the faster it goes down .
Therefore you could now sell your services or even put up with this forum and then participate in the events and even take part in the signature campaigns after a while , a stable small payment would be actually nice therefore there is plenty of options , what you have lost cannot be retrieved focus on the future.

Stop doing it? or Start diversified investment in Stock?
or Not at all?
Why would you stop when you will literally come back later to recover your money, I would rather to come back and just only invest that you can afford instead of all in because making something big is not a must in trading because that's not gonna make you rich instead the greediness will lead you to loss.
that means something is wrong if you continue to lose, do not force something that we do not have the knowledge about what we do.
but if you want to learn, never give up because later you will get the best results. if the long term better invests in parent altcoins the results will be very good.
What currently is wrong with him is that he lacks knowledge. What you have said is what he needs right now, if he wants to learn, he should never give up but first he should prioritize learning especially from the mistakes he have done to get the best result in the long run.
That is why before entering in this kind of investment they should have some knowledge for them to work well and earn, and get what they want. They should have plans for everything so that the chances of failure is too low. Going into a investment is too risky because you are depositing your money in a project and it is you responsibility to know if that is a good project. There are some project that are scam but you cant just invest to that because you should study every project, whitepaper is important because it is where all the information that the project have. You can read that and can say that the project is good based on their whitepaper. You can also visit their website and check if that is legit. And also the reactions of other investors, you can get jnformation from them if that project is really good for investing.

Well, it is not the end of the world if you lost all your Bitcoin. In my opinion,  you need to accept this fact and learn for this failed  experience positively and then you should deal with it wisely, that's how you can overcome this loss. And believe me, complaining and giving a ton of excuses will change nothing. Restart again and go make something remarkable.
Plus,  you should start buying an acceptable amount of BTC and ETH I would guess maybe like 500 USD or 1000 USD especially in this period and of course you need to hold all them, and in the next PUMP try to invest in some cryptocurrencies who have a low price like Ripple, Tron especially Tether.

Unfortunately, this situation is very painful. This market can happen to anyone who trades. Hasty investments can hurt you. If you trade with money you don't need, this will cause you less harm. However, you can be very upset if you invest in the market that carries great risks with all your money.

Going short or long has got me so much money but at the same time, it makes me too bold.

I often do short trades to increase the number of my coins. But this method is too risky. Because you can also lose a large amount of coins. So, I suggest you do not do short trades too often if you want to minimize risk when trading.

it is a risk, if you are too brave to eat you must also be prepared to accept the risk. so don't feel guilty, but it's good that you feel stupid, because you don't think carefully about something ,,

That shouldn't happen because the market allow traders to decide to win or to lose, it is in the matter of selling your cryptocurrency at the right time. In such a case, you shouldn't sell your bitcoin at lower price if you really want to earn. This is the problems newbies in crypto is doing. So to make things better, next time, try to diversify not the kinds of crypto you will buy, but consider buying bitcoin at different price levels. In this case, diversification of buying time frame will help you to avoid losses because buying dip and bull balances your assets.

I have been frustrated like you for losing all the bitcoin that I have. All you need to do is stay calm, and never give up on bitcoin trading again.
You don't explain why you can lose all the bitcoin you have, but in my opinion you are wrong when used a strategy so experience a substantial
loss. Or it could be that you are too greedy and can not control emotions when trading, can cause you to lose all the bitcoin you have. Whatever
the reason is the most important you try to correct your mistakes, and start learning trading strategy correctly. So I'm sure in the next opportunity
you can make a profit to replace your lost bitcoin.

all traders who still have a little experience will definitely experience something similar like this because they are very susceptible to scams or phishing which makes them lose all of their assets even more so is the loss of assets due to wrong address sending because of inaccuracy, before making a shipment or transaction with using cryptocurrency you should be able to examine the recipient's wallet is suitable or not.

I don't see the connection of your title to what you want to ask. That's your money and you can continue your plans of holding it. Determine yourself for shorting or going long right now. You can diversify as much as you want but the very tip that I'll tell you is don't leave your bitcoin investment and never sell all of it. Sell some for diversification but still allocate an amount for a longer time so that if bitcoin ever pumps again and grows naturally, you still have something to get.
If bitcoin has never been good to a person, quitting is an option and probably the best that they can. We, who are living already on this market can easily say that quitting is not a good option. But for those people that has not been fortunate with bitcoin, they have all the means to quit if that's for their good.
Quitting doesn't mean that you are weak but it's also an option for us to choose if we think that it's no longer profitable and beneficial to us.

I am still struggling to understand the connection between your post as the OP and the topic title you have here. Am I the only one trying out this puzzle?

let me guess, surely you do leverage trading, leverage trading can indeed maximize profit, but the risk is also very big, very not recommended especially for beginners, in this forum there are many who trade bitcoin but don't lose all bitcoin, so far my bitcoin is still okay, because I trade normally without leverage.
Due to lower profits in spot trading and hence he might be one of the leverage traders. This kind of trading is really much riskier but it also gives huge profits. It is somewhat similar to betting as you said as we actually need to predict the price to short or long our orders.

Ordinary trading can too give us profits if we diversify our capital into some high volatile coins and then start trading with them in the high volatile markets. This might also start being an hobby as you would need to start gaining interest in speculating the graphs all the time to make you even more closer to the markets and gain more profits.
