Virtual Coin | VCoin | VC

Scrypt based as proof of work scheme. Our aim is to compete in real world by introducing user access to this coin at Bitcoin based ATM machines worldwide instead of just another alt coin traded online for Litecoins or Bitcoins. We are against any pump & dump or similar schemes.

So looks like you premined it up to block 160+?

I think the coin was launched on March 16. This looks like an update for Windows Client. It is already March 20, 2014 if you go by Universal Time (GMT).

I don't think so, I also mined it when it was around +20 block. I see some other user who posted getting blocks as low as 10. Hope this help.

{
"blocks" : 746,
"currentblocksize" : 1000,
"currentblocktx" : 0,
"difficulty" : 3.28305064,
"errors" : "",
"generate" : true,
"genproclimit" : 1,
"hashespersec" : 970,
"networkhashps" : 15202281,
"pooledtx" : 0,
"testnet" : false
}

The coin launch was postponed twice AFAIK, I thought this was the 'official' launch.

This might confuse other people like with Digitalcoin and Dogecoin, VirtualCoin and VertCoin. I think you should use VTL if thats not used yet

yup, I also just check, mine shows block 748.

I would only try solo if you have at least 3-4 Mhash/s. Otherwise pool is best. I saw post from one of the user who mined 60000 coins so far, he never posted his Virtual address so can't confirm.

I still regret missing on Aurora coin when it started. Just look at their 1st ANN page, everyone turned it down & now it is worth more than Litecoin. You never know which coin will hit big. I thought about particle coin also, but it was bust.

You never know which coin will hit big... never thought something like... doge coin will ever survive. I was wrong, they gave away big payouts when they started. If these guys get ATM thing working then we will have a gold rush.

Just read the news on alt coins listed today on Fox.

Read an news article this morning on CNN about bitcoins & saw they mentioned about "Virtual Coin", if you have read that article can you please post link here, I tried searching but couldn't find it now.

looks like Media is all over bitcoins & alt coins these days.

But also so much bad press as well due to MTGOX.

Are they referring to this coin specifically or they said virtual coins as a whole?

I think it says VirtualCoin. But again could be referring to it as general. But have to agree name brand of this coin has lot of potential.

I see that you leaving similar remarks on other coins & promoting your own some BOIN coin or whatever it is called. Before you post these remarks maybe try to hide your forum history, know you are caught   https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=242322;sa=showPosts

NOW THAT"S FUNNY! (and doesn't change or address the fact that YOU are creating multiple posts, using different dates and usernames for the same INSTA-MINED SHITCOIN!). P.S. Since I seem to have your attention, you still have failed to disclose any PRE-MINE as well.

At present http://vc.crypto-hamsters.com/ is the most stable pool for VC. If you find any issues, please let the pool owner know it, or contact me if you find any issues with payment etc.

Deal in progress for exchange. The reason we do not want it listed so soon was to avoid giving the impression that this is some kind of pump & dump alt coin. It is not, we are here for long term.

In the making are Android/iPhone app to payment & wallet as well as API to support Bitcoin based ATM machines. Once that hits, it will be a gold rush, we want people to treat it just like another real  currency. Also in contact with some online stores for purchase using Virtual coins. Still in pipeline. So for now let's just keep it low profile till these are released.

1st expect mobile/cell phone smart app shortly.

If you are a java developer or worked with smart phone app, please PM me.

I still think that is low, I suggest waiting,
Hope to see 1000 VC for 1 BTC price range which would be around ~$1 USD for every Virtual Coin. I never want to see Virtual Coin selling for $100, $1000 as this makes it hard to use it in real world.

If you are a java developer or worked with smart phone app, please PM me.

ok, I see only 800 blocks mined so far, still some room left for mining.

Anyone interested in selling their virtual coins, plz let me know ur price in BTC.
Serious offers plz, will buy through escrow only.

Will pay .45 BTC for 90,000 VC.

That is very low dude, I can offer you deal for 19700 Coins for 1 BTC.

I still think that is low, I suggest waiting,
Hope to see 1000 VC for 1 BTC price range which would be around ~$1 USD for every Virtual Coin. I never want to see Virtual Coin selling for $100, $1000 as this makes it hard to use it in real world.

Why do you think VirtualCoin deserves a market cap of 210,000,000 USD? Why is it better than the other scrypt coins?

yup, I also just check, mine shows block 748.

Ultimately market will control the price, but 21 Million, not billion coins provide right balance. As we all know 21 million coins are too few in Bitcoin Case & billions are too many at current circulation. Virtual Coin was created to simulate as close as possible to US dollar or Euro. The aim of this currency does not carry some big messages.... world peace, donation etc. It was more designed to help provide support for Bitcoin & allow users access to ATMs, use it as a secure online shopping... replace Credit cards, which charge 2-5% fees for transaction. We aim it was Bitcoin was designed for but, with one difference enough coins so single coin can be bought by anyone just like dollar bills.

Back to your original question, to achieve the goal, we think 1 VC in long run should be around $1 or 1 Euro. Where it will be in terms of value in 6months or year, no one knows, had I known I would have bought Bitcoins 2 years back ;)

Not sure if I understand. Is there any innovation say over Litecoin, which seems to be pretty successful with a full team of well-known developers and real volume on exchanges. Say, how much of VirtualCoin has been pre-mined? If you don't say 0%, then this coin is clearly a pump and dump and has no value over any other scrypt coin.

You at least got a good name "virtual coin".

I have 7 years Java experience & can build/release Android wallet for bounty.

Since I think this coin has lot of potential & may take over litecoin this year, would help out with Android & wallet for 3000 VC. I am not looking to pump/dump but rather sell these later when prices go up similar to litecoin.

Please PM if you like my offer :)

From so far I have seen this coin is well worth supporting for. I also have high long term expectation. We all early birds will benefit, I am doing solo with 4.5Mh/s using my rig.

{

"protocolversion" : 70003,

Difficulty is still low for solo. Looking forward to have VC coin listed on exchange.

Hey guys..

It took a little bit of tweaking for our version of Ubuntu but we've eventually got the coin working!

Our pool is up and running here:
https://www.minep.it/pools/31/

And I'll me sending my own miner over shortly - so jump in! :)

Nice looking exchange, but can you please note the name of the trading coins somewhere? If I go straight to trading it just gives me a coins symbol (which can easily be confused with another coin).

thanks

Great, it is time to trade some BTC for VC & other way around.
But will hold most of my VC coins for another 12 months, I hope I have done that for Litecoin also.

what's next for this coin?

1) MAC version
2) Windows native 64 bit.
3) KGW implementation
4) Upgrade to 0.9 code

Development is in full swing. Keep in mind, this Coin was vision for long term including ATM support etc.

We are glad to see it is the most active trading coin on AGX exchange (https://agx.io/markets (https://agx.io/markets)). Nice to see interest picking up for this coin. But we are still focus on our above goals. :)

I think, this coin needs more advertisement.
On AGX very low buy support at this moment because nobody knows what is "VC".

Btw, snapshot of AGX Market trading this morning.

To all users, I think we all should be promoting the coin it is in our interest, instead of requesting mod to do all. I tried to contact other exchanges see if they are willing to list as well. I suggest if you support the coin also do so. Keep in mind it is a decentralized coin, so we all own it, not just the dev or its team.

"Virtual Coin" itself is a very strong & potential brand which stands out from rest of the pump & dump overnight coins & that may be the reason trading volume is high for it.

we need to get it listed on popular exchanges. Their is a demand of Virtual Coin, but it is currently not listed on any well known exchanges. If you guys suggest one, we can try to approach them.

How about the MintPal exchange?
You can email them here: support@mintpal.com

And this is how they select coins to add to their website.
https://www.mintpal.com/voting
You might not even need to go into voting because they say:
Quote
Although the majority of new markets will come from the voting system, we reserve the right to add new markets outside of the system where we feel necessary. Have a new coin that isn't on the list? Please contact us at support@mintpal.com and we'll get the coin added.

I feel that this exchange will definitely boost the current value of the coin.
Can you please try to get the coin listed on this exchange? Let's all hope they add VC!

Take care,
Everyone :)

Sigh... "When do I get to dump" is exactly why these new coins fail. There is no image of the future of actually USING the coin, everyone just wants to get in early to dump their coins later.

Just ... stop.

Hi All, over the last 2 weeks, we have learn lot from user feedback. We will be re-launching Virtual Coin in 2 weeks time with 3rd generation code. As Scrypt ASIC will be out in few months, their is no point of using existing code, as we are completely against any ASIC mining. We want users with GPU & CPU mining it, not someone with hugh financial support running ASIC taking over. This coin is designed for masses not some elite running data centers. We are sure once scrypt ASIC is out, popularity for Litecoin will do down considerably. Not everyone can afford $10k or more mining hardware.

Expect Announcement in 1-2 weeks.

I hope you all understand, ASIC is around the corner coin will not survive, I will also be loosing all my coins as well. But if we do not fix, it will go no where.

Thanks everyone, will post once code is ready

But you can change the algorithm on the go. You do not need to kill the coin, you just need to modify the code. Many coins algorithm changed, but these changes do not result in the loss of previously mined coins.

I agree with this. We spent lot of hours mining coin even when others were posting that its a scam coin etc. To me personally, if i loose the coins i have already mined than i will not mine this coin anymore even with the new algo as the Dev's would have lost all the credibility in my eyes. You need to support the miners who supported you at the start rather than telling that all the time and effort they spent initially to support you is all in vain.

I would appreciate if one of the Dev can put some clarity on this

In an extreme case, a coin can pass (sell) to another developer who will maintain it and develop it.
