Title: [WARNING] CoronaCash token - Use of Someone Else's Photos
Post by: TimeTeller on March 08, 2020, 02:29:48 AM
What happened::
The published photos on their website came from various websites and used them as placeholders on their team profile.

Profile Link:

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=2594459

Reference Links:

No amount scammed at the moment but potential buyers of this token should do their own research first.

Additional Notes:

This is a developing topic.

Use of someone else's photos as placeholders. Should left it blank if they are still in the process of editing their website. They might create a fake name and profile description alongside these photos. So please watch!

Or still using the demo theme from extendthemes. In a rush! No time to edit their site before publication. They need to catch the hype surrounding this health crisis!  ::)

Accusations related to a fake team member require mandatory site archiving. And now that they've removed their team from the site, you can 't confirm your words.
It is convenient to use such services for archiving: https://web.archive.org/ , http://archive.fo/
I made an archive of their thread on bitcointalk - http://archive.fo/puEdB

Pretty obvious that this project is a scam.

How can someone take advantage of the corona virus situation? Moving forward, any project that's using the global pandemic scare are going to be a scam. Their website is total shit, and thanks for exposing this and I do hope that no one will fall for this gimmick.

Yes, Must be this site will scam people. A project doesn't like an easy cake. To launch a good project team needs to think more, many works need to do before launching a good campaign. and obviously a good project will not choose a shit name like a corona  ;D.
Recently the coronavirus is trending news all over the world and this guy trying to use some technic to steal some money from investors, Also the domain is dot.online which we can buy it with 1-2$.

How can someone take advantage of the corona virus situation?
That doesn't surprise me as much as the blatant use of young, good-looking women to promote a scam project.  Those ladies in the pictures look like the least likely human beings on the face of the earth to be on a dev team for a cryptocurrency project.  Not saying it would be impossible, but I think these scammers were just going for attractiveness instead of reality.

It does blow my mind that idiots are still trying to fake team member images after all the scammers that have been caught since the ICO craze came into being.  It's hard for me to wrap my mind around the fact that they think they might be able to get away with it--obviously members of bitcointalk are on the lookout for this sort of thing, and these scammers aren't exactly trying their hardest to conceal the source of those photos.  Unbelievable.

Become complicated to leave negative feedback or raise flags due to lack to archive links. I have visited their website right now and hadn't found your mentioned team members. What I noticed, their website template is as was it. They didn't changed anything except name. Template languages still there. I don't think investors would convinced to buy this fake coin. For the next time please archive all the evidences. Can't imagine still scammers are too lazy... they are stupid scammers, just want take benefits of Corona rumors.

@OP you should utilize using archive sites like https://archive.is or https://web.archive.org if you want to present a report or an accusation as it really helps with this kind of situation. Anyways, I also think this is just another shitty coin by some scammers and one thing is pretty obvious is they are exploiting a crisis that is trying to solve by the government, who else in the right mind will invent this term "Proof-of-Infection", really a dope move.

Maybe they came across in this thread and without further ado they changed it but if OP had archived it I am just guessing these people will try to defend it that "it hasn't been fully published it because our web dev was f***ing lazy he uses temporary image at the moment". That line never grows old with them and they'll just take action if they've been caught underhanded, not a good one IMO for a project establishing a trust to individuals.

Yeah, the website is crap another red flag that the people behind just quickly put this website and then going to scam people. However, I'm not blaming the OP here, just saying that if he archived the link then it is much better, but still a good catch, so we better watch out for more "corona" scam projects coming in the space for the next coming days.

Thanks for all your suggestions.
Really forgot to do such archiving. It didn't occur to me at the time of creating the thread.
Next time, will do that so these potential scammers will not slip from our grasp.
But hopefully, no one will buy their token as it is very obvious that this is just another crap project taking advantage of the situation.
Unless, there are traders who want to get profit out of it.
