Title: When is altcoin season???
Post by: mahilchii on March 22, 2020, 04:11:48 AM
In the past, altcoins have enjoyed immense gains during altseasons. Well this happens only if there is Bitcoin dominance... And I believe there are two types of principles to follow them

* Bitcoin dominance Increases when more and more people buy and simply hold BTC.

* Bitcoin dominance decreases when more and more people sell BTC.

So altcoins fate is purely depend on BTCs price reaction or altcoins are independent???guys please share your thoughts on this.

Actually yes , altcoin season's will only be dependent on bitcoin price The one should start the increase will be on bitcoin.

There are altcoins who have had their own demand and are not dependent in bitcoin to rise but very few altcoin have this.

So to answer the basic question's when the altcoin season will start just always look at the bitcoin price and he will always give you signal when.

There was no altcoin season and all if strongly correlated with the bitcoin. There was no altcoin that can be independent being not affected by bitcoin. In my experience, if you must aware of the market movement.
Altcoin is totally depended and it can't be independent until it can use another thing to backed the asset to create its own value.

Bitcoin dominance Increases when more and more people buy and simply hold BTC.
Bitcoin dominance is the percentage of bitcoin to altcoins in a market based on market capitalization. If you are talking in terms on a no-fiat usage then the statement is correct. But if there is fiat involved then the money increasing the portion of bitcoin is not coming from altcoins but total market cap will increase.

Quote
Bitcoin dominance decreases when more and more people sell BTC.
For altcoin precisely and not fiat.

Altcoins could be independent if they are actually having something to develop and something has a market of its own to generate a demand/supply crisis so as to raise the price of that coin. This is generally not seen with all of the altcoin launched till date so the end result is that thy piggyback on the price of bitcoin.

Altcoin can have an impact only on the market if the demand increases. But the case here, is most people recognize bitcoin as most influential and useful cryptocurrency, yet its usage is simply store of value and payment for peer to peer and many merchants. However. Altcoins are differentiated with one another and has sort of different use cases, but they still employ the use of store and value and merchant sales payment. But the thing is, bitcoin has grown in terms of market and adoption, which will took altcoin a long time period before it will shift to their soaring.

Most likely the dominance of altcoin was based on the price movement of Bitcoin. It will swing the price once Bitcoin price move and I think that altcoins were depend by the Bitcoin price. But not all are the same cases, there are also some altcoins that having hype by the owner just like what happen to BSV coin. However, this is a case to case basis.

Altcoin season is bound to happen only if bitcoin surge higher to a new ATH and once whales noticed this they can opt in to altcoins which will decrease BTC dominance and makes altcoins to surge

As per my observation, this is like that. Look to cmc, many altcoins were dead long time ago but when bitcoin rushed to ath on 2017, they were alive and kicking.

Altcoin season, i don't really think there is an altcoin season since its also depend on bitcoin price, if bitcoin price go up of course other coins like eth, etc LTC xrp will go up, since there are lots of traders that will captialized on the btc price, the higher the btc price, the more altcoins they can get, and the rest will follow like pumping of their coin saying its already alt season but no it will still depend on bitcoin price, if you still remember btc price goes 20k USD ,
altcoins go up, when btc price goes down , altcoin also follows.

IMO All cryptocurrencies are interconnected because they all shared in the one common market, Bitcoin and all Altcoins were needing each other to grow In that sense, Bitcoin dominance affects all altcoins, Bitcoin as the pioneering cryptocurrency in the market has a lot of influence from its users, investors, and supporters thats why if Bitcoin price was falling most of Altcoins were also affected. thats why for me altcoins are not fully independent from Bitcoin influence.

But today everything depends on cash, financial crisis then cash will become the king and exactly that is what happening that is why tether minting millions of coins in the past three weeks and still there is demand for that coin.

The real altcoin season is not expected in near future so don't stress too much by expecting too much.

To all affected they are preparing cash instead of crypto currency since they are much need of cash right now. Even in my country cash is much more needed because the confirm cases increase day by day and you dont have idea how long it will take before we can back again to our normal life and normal thing we are doing every day.

Preparing cash if something worste happen or the lockdown extended even my self holding a cash by now.

if, in my opinion, when the domain of btc decreased, as it did in 2017, where more people sold btc and bought alt, that was what made it go up.
The dominance of BTC is now very high, so it will be very unlikely that the high season will arrive in the near future.
maybe 1 or 2 years from now.

IMO it depends on bitcoin, during those times when we witness the altcoins season, the market was hype due to the fact that bitcoin has achieved a new ATH, now since bitcoin is struggling, no money are also falling into altcoins market.

The mentality of the investors are very simple, they believe that bitcoin is the strongest asset and as long as it holds the biggest dominance rate, altcoins will always follow on bitcoin's movement, so altcoins is just a 2nd option to them, they'll only invest when bitcoin will do better.

I am quite sure altcoins are not going to recover very soon due to various reasons. Problems is alt coins do not follow bitcoin trend always what we have seen when bitcoin was on $3K zone. When bitcoin jump up to $14K but altcoin was dumped more and more. I believe most of alts are on bottom now. More likely if bitcoin doesn't touch ATH again then we can't expect alt session really. Is become more complicated to predict about market lately. Due to COVID-19 global economy has been collapsing, so until prevent this COVID-19 there is no opportunity to see alt session in my opinion. Likely we will have to wait for it.

Altcoins price movement depends on bitcoin especially when the whole altcoin market is concerned. I also think interest in more profitable coin will depend on the size of exchanges listed, number of exchanges and size of marketcap of the project, these are more attractive factors to the pump of altcoins especially in bitcoin value. We need to know that some more altcoin will die and need to exit such project before we turn victims.

maybe what you dreamed of this year could happen, Altcoin will be the heyday of your dreams.

But nature wills outside human thinking, with what has happened so far dozens of people have died suddenly of a deadly plague, in 100 people killed every day in the world, maybe half who hold Bitcoin and Altcoin.
This is the disaster of the decline of Altcoin and Btc, generally most people no longer think about coins, think of the fate of their respective families in the face of this plague.

Behind all that it can be learned that Bitcoin and Altcoin will meet its heyday again someday, we can only pray that everyone in the world will be healthy and can invest again in crypto in general.

that's when Altcoin will increase and to re-glory.

Fully agree - it seems like alts are on bottom and we can't expect them to go back up due to current world problems and crypto immaturity.
However, I have a strong feeling that exchanges and other services are interested in alts going higher so they could possibly make fake liquidity so people would believe alts are not dead.
Obviously it will work only if they keep on with timings and start the plan only when btc pumps.

Historically it has always been Bitcoin controlling the market. Alts do not control it  and I am sure it will remain the same in the future too. Although some alts are better than Bitcoin technically but there is none to replace it unfortunately.

Never in our lifetime to be sure! I remember when Ethereum was going crazy and Cryptokitties and tokens and ICOs were all splashing out and they were saying this is the end of BTC. And especially when bitcoin forks were being threatened,,, but we all know what happened after that and Bitcoin is going to prove the same for a long time more.

Altcoins season was always likely to take a long time coming but now with even Bitcoin and other established markets struggling and with JP Morgan predicting that we are likely to hit recession in this year we might have to wait for another two years to see the price recover to the previous prices.

In most cases, when bitcoin begins to grow then all altcoins start to grow, of course there were exceptions when altcoins grew and bitcoin almost did not grow, but this was rare, but in general when the altcoin season will be unknown, because you see what is happening now all over the world.

Its something we need to think and accept that altcoins seasons had something to miss. The market isn't performing so well nor that Bitcoin shows an impressive market growth helping altcoins to move high as it should have to be. Only the top altcoins might able to reach a high level and it giving fewer chances for the others.

Last 2017 we witness a huge hype for altcoins, some makes a huge gains but many also had been suffering big losses after. Think that this thing will never happen again as we observe that there are no hypes shown to us this time.

One striking thing I picked out or want to draw your attention to is the statement you just made; Bitcoin dominance increase when people are buying it, that is to say, higher demand leads to greater value. Now, it can see seen that for altcoins to boom there must be a huge demand for it which will invertly lead to the decrease in price of Bitcoin. So back to your question, no one knows when the altcoin season will be as most altcoins nowadays are just for profit with just a little number really after positive change and growth. Also, to a greater extent I think the fate of altcoins depends on that of BTC.

Agreed, also one of the main reason why Bitcoin reached that high was because of the hyped Bitconnect which invited even those who don't know what Bitcoin is. Surely people learned a lot because of this. We all do.

I don't think alt season will ever come again. People learned during the 2018 dump that 99% of altcoins today are scams. Most investors will probably stay away from altcoins as much as possible except those in the top list.

Does that mean that the core of the Altcoin season is on the price movements of Bitcoin? if it's really like that, it means that the Altcoin season has just happened once, namely at the end of 2017, because at that time the price of Bitcoin was very expensive, and the price of most Altcoins was also expensive in all markets.

-snip-
Altcoin season will indeed occur but certainly not at the current conditions. The condition of the crypto market and the world market is very unsupportive.

Indeed, there will be many benefits if you buy some altcoin at this time but it is indeed safer to buy altcoin which is clearly a candidate for altcoin that will rise when the altcoin season arrives. Ethereum, LTC and several altcoins in the top 10 CMC have greater potential and are good for investing in Longterm and in accordance with the target price you want later.

All investments have risks, waiting for the altcoin season must prepare capital to buy altcoin at lower prices and be strong mentally when prices have not reached the target.

Maybe we can trust with halving give moment for altcoin season back to higher price but with world situation faced Corona virus will give effect for economic world and make bitcoin and altcoin will go down, we need waiting for several time later for seeing altcoin season come back to higher price and give us much profit as holder and investor.
corona virus outbreak will inevitably have an impact on crypto even though indirectly the effect occurs. because the economy is currently very disturbed by this. but after the situation starts to improve there will be a significant movement but the influence of bitcoin is also very large will be the movement of altcoin. I hope everything gets better and altcoin can again succeed.

The dominance of bitcoins increases only when the value of altcoins in relation to bitcoin decreases. A change in dominance does not occur when the cryptocurrency market shows growth and the price of not only bitcoins but also altcoins increases. The increase in the dominance of BTC will also occur when the price of altcoins becomes less, and the price of bitcoin remains the same.

Title: Re: When is altcoin season???

yes, thats right..because at that time there was not much development in the crypto project, so there was no other choice for new projects to remain under the control of bitcoin. but now the situation is developing and many projects are able to stand on their own. even though the asking price of this new project is far below bitcoin.

Obviously, it depends only on the Bitcoins price. Bitcoins dominance has risen to all time high this year and I guess decentralisation is the main concept as far as crypto currency is concerned, many altcoins project still haven't gained any traction.

Altcoins used to be the ultimate play in 2017 but now the majority of altcoins fail because they have not done anything as they give false promises and disappoint the Investors this created a bad reputation to the altcoins and till now I feel that's the only reason they are dependent on BTCs price.

It's better not to expect sessions, whatever they do according to your predictions. If you ask like that, then you will often get uncertain answers.

I personally think all of those markets must have a hold, so if you ask whether altcoin is dependent on bitcoin or independent?. My answer depends on the bitcoin market, from the altcoin market history often fluctuates referring to the bitcoin market.

I think it really depends on the movement of Bitcoin. If the price of Bitcoin drop, then Altcoin also drop. If the price of Bitcoin rises, even though the price of Altcoin remains at the base price, the Altcoin chart remains green.

For example:
1 BTC = $ 5000
1 EOS = $ 2
1 BTC = 2500 EOS
if:
1 BTC = $ 6000 chart green
and
1 EOS = $ 2 (fixed price)
Then:
1 BTC = 3000 EOS
or
$ 6000 = 3000 EOS

EOS: green chart.

The change in value obtained will be a green graph.

Maybe this is my view in looking at the graph/ chart.

I'd rather ask myself when the upcoming recession, depression or whatever this fucking thing we've entered is, is going to end. When this ends, alts will maybe boom. Or maybe this is the ultimate test for cryptocurrencies and it's gonna end with a fail. Who the fuck knows. We've entered a very unpredictable year.

I wouldn't hope for an altcoin season for the following 1 year at least. Blood's gonna be on the streets, literally.

altcoin season is likely to come soon this year, especially for the current bitcoin price is still consolidating at $ 4000- $ 6000 according to the chart, this will make room for altcoin, see when bitcoin prices fall to $ 3800, altcoin can survive even if it drops 25% - 35% is a good thing, and it's a sign, believe me

Most have learned their lesson so now they follow the BTC moves at the same time because they expect the alt season you're talking about. If you take a look over the price changes on the top 100 coins, you'll notice +90% of them have the same pattern as BTC (excluding stablecoins, of course).

This makes me think the next alt season will start together with the Bitcoin one. Now there are obvious reasons a coin may pump or dump completely non-dependent of BTC (example: partnerships, new updates etc) but put this aside and you'll have the same trend as BTC.

Moreover, if you don't get to take in the profits from your alts at the right time, you will most likely lose more than if you had held your funds in Bitcoin.

I must learn to stop mentioning BTC every 2 words I write

Title: Re: When is altcoin season???

in short, bitcoin is crypto that is the parent of a market where the trend will depend on it. for example the trend of buying and pumping prices, if bitcoin happens like that then altcoin will follow the trend because altcoin is actually an alternative coin, where altcoin will be the second choice after bitcoin. then don't be surprised if the crypto trend is always preceded by bitcoin. the fact that happened in the crypto market so far is also the case, where the trend is always preceded by bitcoin be it bull or bear. so the altcoin season starts when bitcoin also starts to rise.

I think altcoin will recover soon and bitcoin will certainly grow again if there is more good news. At the moment, the epidemic is causing people to worry and that is the only reason investors are panicking during this time. Of course, I also sold some coins when the market fell but still kept the top 10 coins because most of these coins depend on the price of Bitcoin

Altcoins could be independent if they are actually having something to develop and something has a market of its own to generate a demand/supply crisis so as to raise the price of that coin. This is generally not seen with all of the altcoin launched till date so the end result is that thy piggyback on the price of bitcoin.

I agree to this. In short, altcoin always rely on the main market, because they are just Alternative Coins, they always go with the flow with Bitcoin. However, there are times that Altcoin pumps (a little) even though that Bitcoin's price is on the dump state, and could be vice versa. Therefore I guess it is correct to conclude that when Bitcoin hypes up, so does the Altcoin. So for now, we just have to hold the remaining tokens we have from 2017, cause they are more promising than to the ICOs nowadays.

altcoin season is likely to come soon this year, especially for the current bitcoin price is still consolidating at $ 4000- $ 6000 according to the chart, this will make room for altcoin, see when bitcoin prices fall to $ 3800, altcoin can survive even if it drops 25% - 35% is a good thing, and it's a sign, believe me
At this point of time, I would not based on the chart as the market now is not normal, there is a global pandemic, it affect everyone of us, so maybe let's just look on when this pandemic will stop and then we will talk about the possible bullish period of bitcoin or crypto market.

As long as we are still not sure when this will be stop, altcoin season or bull run is not likely to happen this year.

Altcoin season will come, no need to worry. Meanwhile, we need to enjoy this moment for a while because bitcoin and some altcoin have to decrease again. We don't know if this is just another correction, or it will go down deeper than yesterday or a few days ago, but we need to prepare for every possibility that will happen. I remember that in 2016-2017 when the altcoin season comes before bitcoin price hit the highest price, every altcoin started to increase so high, and that makes many people make a lot of money from crypto. So based on that history, I am sure that the altcoin season will come soon because we already see the market is at a lower price for a long time.

What you say is very true in the crypto world often happens like that altcoin always affects Bitcoin, but not only that the value of Bitcoin and Altcoin Rising also very influential on the positive news that discusses the advantages of Bitcoin and vice versa, and now the dominance of bitcoins decreases because the Korona virus is caused by disrupting trade activity in every country.

oh here is the pandemic virus again . i think im tired of seeing this , why people always connect it to the value of cryptos ? cryptos were already been this way at all times , believe me that once the virus has pass out the market are still potential to huge drops  .

about the altcoin season , i think it will not come this times because look at bitcoin  , btc is still on critical state  . linking btc to alts is more possible than btc/crypto to corona because its already proven many times based on me and others observation .

when such a situation, it is very difficult to predict the development of crypto in general. because until now there are still many countries that have just begun a virus pandemic. and we know this virus outbreak seems to be a world epidemic, so the world will be together to overcome it. I think if this virus can be handled, then the crypto world will recover

I agree with your opinion, because I have experienced huge profits in 2018 when the price of bitcoin surged and altcoin followed the price of bitcoin, I hope it will happen again this year.
Didn't in 2018 Bitcoin experience a slight price drop? so that some Altcoins also fell, because as I recall, the growth of the very good Bitcoin only occurred in 2017, as soon as it entered 2018 Bitcoin immediately experienced a fall in prices.

Still far from the altcoin season because in times of crisis like this no coin will have the potential to rise unless the corona virus outbreak really disappears in this world so I think that recovery can happen again.

But the altcoin season I think there has never been more altcoin now being shitcoin on the market or bullish and bearish so keep looking at the views of others responding that the altcoin season will exist.
I think that's impossible.

Most of the time the price of altcoins depend on bitcoin.

When btc increase alts do follow thats why this year many investors are looking forward for bitcoin halving because of the possible effect on it to bitcoin's price. But unforunately covid-19 affect the whole market making the price of crypto to decline.

It is difficult to determine when an altseason starts because it is difficult to predict market movements. I agree that there is a condition where the dominance of bitcoin decreases called altseason but we also have to look at the marketcap value because if the marketcap value is fixed then the bitcoin price is going down

I don't think covid-19 affects the price of cryptocurrency. The behavior of bitcoin in the market is not much different from what it was before the coronavirus. Traders were able to get up to 80% of the profit in the last 10 days. I think that the halving of bitcoin will have a greater impact on the price of altcoins .

And combined with the difficulty of the economy, Bitcoin seems to be starting a familiar scenario when good news like Halving comes out, instead of rampant growth, it will be a drastic price adjustment, haven't seen rays of hope to change this reality

This year is a desperate year to enter this market because most of the coins in the top 100 are falling very quickly and you will definitely risk investing in this period. Currently, I am sure that altcoin season will be very unlikely and the current market depends heavily on the price of Bitcoin so in the near future investors need to be more careful when choosing to invest in this market.

I will still blame the current fear to the pandemic. It was a good sign to see ethereum pump in bitcoin value which is expected to flow to other reliable coin in the coming month, maybe the second half of the year but it is more difficult to predict altcoin season now. ATM ethereum is gradually losing all the bitcoin value he gain in the beginning of the year and if it persist for no reliable reason it will flow in altcoins. Lots of speculation in the space and we can only follow the market cause we have this unprecedented factor in the market that makes market prediction more difficult.

altcoins have always depended and will depend in the coming years on bitcoin. they develop separately from Bitcoin, but price values cannot move independently. the problem is that people consider altcoins riskier than bitcoin and that's why when price start moving people sell the riskiest assets

Selling is normal when people sees a profit on their investment, but what we need here is the FOMO because this is easiest shortcut to a bullish altcoin season. Based on the last altcoin season, it was altcoin which are more profitable that Bitcoin, so hopefully we will see it again once the altcoin season will come.

Everyone is definitely waiting for this as its over 2 years now, altcoins market is still not stable, majority of the coins has not recovered yet.

Taking to mind the current status of the world right now from financial sector to businesses and markets I can only say altcoin season might take a long time. From the look of things, people are going for more cash, as in fiat so as to meet up with various personal needs while a greater number is converting to coins which they believe in such as Bitcoin because it is the best and USDT because it is stable.  Therefore, since people are buying Bitcoin it means there is less attention to altcoins which also means the fate of altcoins depends on Bitcoin dominance.

It's probably sometime after the halving. Question is which altcoin that takes off the most.

I'm predicting DEX projects will be MASSIVE performers, just like Kucoin and COSS was it in 2017, only difference this time is decentralization versus centralized exchange platforms.

I'm buying Blocknet for this very reason, since I want to run a service node and get a passive income through their DEX fee's and XRouter/XBridge fees as well.

I don't think as it is there would be a particular seasons for altcoins as everything has gone dip and once BTC starts coming up all altcoins would follow it but having a particular period or season for Altcoin with this total market knockdown I don't think such would be possible. Once bitcoin price starts coming up everything will follow it and pump. This is the general dip period for all coins.

Articles from Binance research (https://www.binance.com/en/blog/421499824684900448/Binance-Research-Altcoin-Season-Might-Come-Soon-ETHDenver-Drives-ETH-Surge) can be a good reference. Bitcoin dominance in the crypto market is very strong indeed. Had some changes occurred last month, observers saw an investor interest in altcoin that is getting bigger. This is indeed difficult to predict, but if the trend continues to develop, the altcoin season will certainly come. This is not easy because the market is saturated for quite a long time, so we must be patient and don't miss out on opportunities, wait and see.

I don't thing so it's happen after halving or in this year. In my little experience i don't think it'll happen very soon. Couple of altcoin doing so great like ETH, BNB, LTC but BTC popularity far away form them.

You can see every time when market was fall btc rise up slowly but altcoin don't. Why because altcoin too much depend on btc price. Alt never create their position like btc did. So pretty much expectation from alt is foolish. If somehow alt takes off in near future then my recommendation will be choose those coin which are much older in crypto market.

No one knows when and how the Altcoin season will happen specially nowadays that we are experiencing a current downfall in the prices of cryptocurrencies which also includes the major crypto which is Bitcoin. Most Altcoins that can be found in the market mostly depends their prices on Bitcoin so when Bitcoin's price increase, so other Altcoins also experience the same thing. The only manner that some Altcoins can be independent in which their prices can turn into an increase even Bitcoin was in a dip in price is when such Altcoin do have its own improvement wherein people still do obtain demand on that certain Altcoin making a volume on demand which increases the price value of that Altcoin. But most of the time, Altcoins just rely on the price movement of Bitcoin because of its dominance in the entire cryptocurrency market. I think Altcoin season can still do happen but without assurance because people tend to buy more Bitcoin than Altcoins due to some related issues in the past which concerns some Altcoins that results why people trust Bitcoin than Altcoins.

Bitcoin has always been in dominance for a long time and I think that has been since altcoins started existing. However, not all altcoins are totally dependent on Bitcoin. This phenomenon fluctuates. Sometimes, you might see it's effect on them and at some other time, they just grow or dump independently.
Although, in general, altcoins are very much dependent on Bitcoin, which is highly significant, because the percentage dominance is much.

Bitcoin just like a mother for altcoin when altcoin will always follow the direction that will always be made by bitcoin. The altcoin season is much more depending on the regular update about the development progress. Altcoin season can be also created easily by those who are always to do pump and dump to the market. There were the short term and long term seasons for altcoin.

Quote
So altcoins fate is purely depend on BTCs price reaction or altcoins are independent???
Altcoins could be independent if they are actually having something to develop and something has a market of its own to generate a demand/supply crisis so as to raise the price of that coin. This is generally not seen with all of the altcoin launched till date so the end result is that thy piggyback on the price of bitcoin.
In my opinion, it has never happened that there has been an altcoin season because it has always adapted to the good or bad times and agreed to any flow of cryptocurrency exchanges.

This will never come until Bitcoin Bear happens and sure altcoin will follow.
this is the same scenario over and over and nothing really change until this moment.
so if you want this to happen?then follow your number one idea.
Buy Bitcoin now and also your prospective altcoin then Hold ,if all of us do same?then Season of both alt and BTC will come faster.

How? the market is not follow regulated yet, in fact last 2017 some of the scams also experience the bull run, and that is the reason why a lot of new investors came in because they think investing in crypto makes easy money, in short, they got FOMO'd and bitcoin started it all.

And then the price of bitcoin goes up to $ 20k again, which is the essential requirement for us to see a great altcoin season.

Bitcoin will make a new ATH in time, we don't know when but I know bitcoin is capable of doing that even in less than a year.

We have to wait and be patient as altcoins will eventually recover when bitcoin becomes stable and achieved a new ATH.

The market will always be unpredictable and no one can tell the exact time of the altcoin season. We have to create good strategy and stop expecting for the right moment instead grab the opportunity around you. I also hold good altcoins and most of them are still down, I can’t be too impatient for that because if I sold early, then I might lose the chance for a higher price. The altcoin season will come, this can give at least hope for the hodlers of altcoins.

I also hold good altcoins and most of them are still down, I can’t be too impatient for that because if I sold early, then I might lose the chance for a higher price. The altcoin season will come, this can give at least hope for the hodlers of altcoins.
We can only tell which is the right moment to accumulate and we are now at the right moment because the market is struggling due to the global crisis.

If bitcoin were able to had a bull run in the past, it could still happen in the future, and holding is really one of the best strategy to make us successful, therefore we should have mentality of the holder, we put in mind the word "HOLD" so we will not forget that we need to hold regardless of what will happen, and discipline ourselves to only sell when we are in great profit, that's how we get good profit for holding.

This is very simple, any coin/token price will go up once more traders start trading that coin/token, this will big volume is exchange, some people manipulate the trade and create volume. same apply on bitcoin.

There won't be a particular time for altcoin season so to say some tokens will get pumped by whales from time to time be on alert should your bags get pumped.
You are right, we will not be able to determine when the altcoin season will begin. It can start whenever whales want it because they control the market. A lot of people have been buying altcoins since 2018 and waiting for the altcoin season but I think it will not come too soon, this market will continue to collapse and discourage all investors

After born new coin it's free coin which means doesn't depends on any coin until first supply is finished. Almost all top price is followed by Bitcoin. Only separately development news allow any coin to pump even when Bitcoin price dump. Another bullrun will come to us when top coin development will complete.

An altcoin season is actually a moment where 80% of altcoins experience a significant increase in price, volume and maintains a high price for couple of days,
But in crypto currency, there hasn't be an altcoin season without bitcoin experiencing a bull run.

So altcoins mooning sequentially is dependent on bitcoin experiencing a bull run because most trade pairs are btc pegged.

That isn't true. Altcoins have great time when Bitcoin's dominance weans. It's obvious that when more people buy and trade Bitcoin they neglect altcoins. Thus dominance for Bitcoin increases and that of altcoins crashes. For instance, right now Bitcoin controls 64.9% of the total market cap and this won't give altcoins air to rise. But once the dominance lowers to say below 60%, go check the prices of altcoins and see how great they would be.

Altcoin season would more likely occur when the market is back to its feet again but most of the time it is when the market price of Bitcoin is on uptrend. But it doesn't mean always, there are times wherein the market prices of altcoins are on greenmarks while Bitcoin is in red marks. It is just that, parallelism would be mostly observed during the altcoin season.
Not in such a hard times. We will see altseason only when (if) both markets starts to recover
Indeed true. It is still blurry to have vision of such thing as of the moment due to the recent crash which made it more difficult for the market prices to again recover. But I believe that such thing is still possible once the socioeconomic crisis end, which could be a good start, then recovery and other things would more likely follow.
Impossible to predict, uncharted waters for now. Holding 70% BTC and the rest divided into ETH, NWC and LINK. No trade zone for me ATM.
Trading is not preferred at this moment by many people. Investing on the other hand is. In my case, I do hold various altcoins but most of my holdings are in Bitcoin and I bet many people here, are also doing the same thing since the recovery of Bitcoin is more anticipated by most investors I think.

This is possible altcoins are dependent on Bitcoin. I noticed that during Bitcoin bullrun only new coins are showing highest bullrun. If any new coin listed a good exchange during Bitcoin bullrun, price could hit top even I'm surprised that team management doesn't bother to price. Overall by research,, altcoins aren't independent from Bitcoin price.

Yes the price or fate of altcoins depends on that of BTC and that is the way it has been for a while now or rather since inception. When people aren't going for BTC they are going for altcoins hence altcoins surge in price and vice versa. But nowadays, there seems to be a change in events as most times both BTC and good altcoins surge in price together; these good altcoins are mostly major altcoins and a few others which have what it takes. Nevertheless, no one can categorically say when there will be altcoin season as this space can't really be predicted.

Correct. The current dominance of bitcoin shows that BTC is more attractive to investors in extreme market changes. The dominance of Bitcoin often decreases when altcoin and Ethereum increase in value, it means there is a change in investor strategy in adjusting market conditions. So the graphs look like they have the same pattern, look at this

The halving will come as it has a fix schedule but the coronavirus might stay longer, God forbid, but I'm just trying to be realistic here as the its been spreading so fast especially in the US which is a major country.

As in BTC halving its expected that the value of bitcoin will rise but it does not mean we will also see an altcoin season, it was never a guarantee.

Very optimistic though. But the world needs to come out of the crisis first and then get the economic condition stable again. Opinions are divided among what is going to happen with the halving and its effect on prices now that the pandemic has occurred.

The halving will come as it has a fix schedule but the coronavirus might stay longer, God forbid, but I'm just trying to be realistic here as the its been spreading so fast especially in the US which is a major country.
True, the halving does not depend on the pandemic. It will come no matter what. So the expected pump that was supposed to happen before the halving may not happen at all. We might not see altcoin season at all this year anymore because the world economy is going to need time to recover.

As in BTC halving its expected that the value of bitcoin will rise but it does not mean we will also see an altcoin season, it was never a guarantee.
In fact I am more of the opinion that altcoin season is a gimmick and just a false hope to altcoin holders. ;)

Unfortunately, you will not find this season you expect in the near future, as the world markets are in a general downward trend. Unfortunately, alternative cryptocurrencies will take some time to rise, as overall markets are in a downtrend and cryptocurrency markets are also heavily affected by this downward trend. On the other hand, as long as the dominance rate of Bitcoin does not decrease, it is not right to have such an expectation unless there is a serious new money inflow into the cryptocurrency markets and the world cannot overcome the current economic crisis. Unfortunately, it seems very difficult to live a beautiful bull period, there is nothing we can do other than wait.

Altcoin season is just around the corner. As BTC reportedly climbed 10% this week, altcoins are showing great potential too. ETH, BNB, LINK are just some of the consistent altcoin leaders in the market. If you come to think of it, the gaming industry is also targeted by altcoins. EJC is a pioneer for this. Yet, PlayFuel, a new blockchain gaming altcoin has now a market cap of 200 million USD. PLF is standing strong among other gaming cryptos.

There are a thousand things you can do other than wait. Waiting and hoping will not magically bring the bull for you. Enjoy your life, enrich it with knowledge and enrich others' own lives with knowledge. Spread the USE of crypto not just hodling for the sake of hodling. Promote crypto and show how it can be used to improve everybody's lives. Then the bull comes from all of these efforts.

How can BTC be stable? Bitcoin's price has always moved in this market and I have never seen it stabilize for years. And currently Bitcoin still dominates this market but altcoin still cannot grow. If altcoins want to grow, we need to eliminate scam and shoddy projects, then investors will definitely focus on the top altcoins and help their prices go up.

Altcoins still depends in the price of BTC. We notice that if BTC rise then altcoins will follow along the road. So it's probably be BTC season not altcoin season and we'll see that if altcoins rise its just for a meantime not as high as BTC rise. Most of the investors seeks to try first the BTC because of the population towards other cryptocurrency. We see the price goes up again this upcoming halving and the adoption of other countries to bitcoin

Well, that was a wrong thought. The altcoin season never precedes bitcoin. Like in 2017, the altcoin season only started when bitcoin increased to a record of $ 20k and then all altcoins in this market were pumped. And in the next times I think this market will move the same way, we should expect bitcoin to break $ 20k for the altcoin season to begin.

That's the case after the bull run, slowly the price drop until altcoins loses its dominance and since bitcoin now owning the highest dominance, it's normal that the market moves when bitcoin moves, therefore at this point, we need to wait until bitcoin reaches its new ATH before we expect an altcoin season.

I know we all have been waiting for it, but let's be realistic while waiting.

Altcoins are now unable to control themselves and rely heavily on the price of Bitcoin, so investors will face a lot of risks if they are not careful when investing. I don't know what the future of this market is like but surely altcoin season will soon happen when the world situation becomes more stable. Of course, this is just my personal prediction and is still very much dependent on the crypto market.

It is indeed, however not all the altcoins are effected though. If Bitcoin season comes then I am pretty sure that altcoin season will follow as well hence, if we want for this to happen massive adoption could be one of the key. Way back 2017 we have seen how Bitcoin became powerful and so for altcoins so we could say they are more likely interconnected with each other. Unfortunately, looking on what current situation we have even if there will be a halving I am afraid that this will might not bring a profit.

The truth is bitcoin will never become stable and its price will always remain unpredictable/unstable. Eliminating those scam projects is very difficult to do because day by day we can encounter this and even bitcoin dominates in the market still, other altcoins have a chance to grow, it just needs to have huge community supporters and trust of their investors. When it comes to the altcoin season, it just likes the bull run which no one knows when will comes but, I'm sure it can still possible. The movement of bitcoin has a big role in the altcoin seasons which it just dictates when will the altcoin started and ends.

The altcoin season will remain questionable as long the market is on the bear situation. And for me, I guess it might arrive after this pandemic or in the year 2021.

Yes, you are right! Most of the altcoins are dependent on Bitcoin! Sometimes we see exceptional but that can't be an example! Right now Bitcoin's price is increasing and the altcoins are following the Bitcoin movement. I think if Bitcoin dominance increases more and grow in price then altcoins price will grow too! Because Bitcoin high dominance is bad for shitcoins, not for potential alts!

It's a very hard question to answer. This question vary people to people. Most of the people refer 2017 or early 2018 as altcoin season. For me when most of the alts start to give profit in 6-7 months terms thats also alt season. Of you are a good trader and know when to invest and when to sell. Every ups and down is an opportunity for you. At this time when I am writing this market shows some real good move. It it stays for some days we could see some gains in alts too.

It looks like its getting closer and closer eventually. I know we have been waiting since 2017, I mean think about it ethereum was around 1400-1500 dollars and never really reached 700 dollars ever again right? Not 1000 dollars neither. Think about bitcoin, it peaked at 20k but also had a 14k last year, that is less than 50% drop, for the same thing to happen to ethereum we need to be over 700 dollars but ethereum never had that.

Look at every single other coin and you will see about the same things except few of them. Now we are still low, bitcoin is around 7k and that is fine, from 20k that is a good drop, but ethereum is 150 dollars, which would be 2000 dollars equivalent in bitcoin which its not, x3.5 higher than that. We WILL get that increase in altcoins eventually, stay strong.

Actually yes , altcoin season's will only be dependent on bitcoin price The one should start the increase will be on bitcoin.

There are altcoins who have had their own demand and are not dependent in bitcoin to rise but very few altcoin have this.

So to answer the basic question's when the altcoin season will start just always look at the bitcoin price and he will always give you signal when.

good to know buddy, since im actually pondering on stocking more ilcoins. good to have feedback as well on when it could increase.

Altcoins movements are mostly influenced by the state and condition of Bitcoin. The dominance of BTC is glaring and not ready to part away with any of its shares. Before we can see another altcoin season which might never come, BTC needs to moon and then stabilize to allow the few very good altcoins to move up. Altcoin season is still coming, but only excellent and viable projects will enjoy that season.

Altcoin season is still coming, but only excellent and viable projects will enjoy that season.
I don't think anyone can guarantee that when bitcoin holds halvings there is no certainty that there will be an altcoin season because seeing the world conditions like this there are a lot of virus outbreaks that threaten the human population and make world economic conditions into a crisis like this it is difficult to raise prices altcoin at the exchange place.

Does altcoin really have a particular season ? yes atimes it follows the trend of BTC price fluctuations , yet some altcoins wont still moon .
When bitcoin moon altcoins will also moon, haven't you witnessed what happen in 2017 where the market experience a bull run.
Bitcoin made an ATH at $20,000 while altcoins goes crazy as will making their own, that's the basis on why people are expecting an altcoins market.

Altcoins are said to be sole dependent on the movement of bitcoin so once bitcoin price goes to the moon again, definitely altcoins season will also start. I think investors are more confident investing in bitcoin because even if its price dumps, it will find its way bouncing its price again. Altcoins only follow next to bitcoin.

For me it would not really a altcoin season at this times, For some altcoins in the market or popular one I guess it might have potential but almost 90% is still dead token to me.

At this moment we are experiencing a global pandemic. Pandemic is not a joke so we must take this seriously. With this pandemic we also experience crisis. Because of the subsiding of the economy the value of the bitcoin and other cryptocurreny is also subsiding. With this, this time is the season in where we can buy alt coins because the price is a bit lower, then after we can wait for the charts and trade until such time that the value becomes higher by that we can gain so much return on investment and gain so much money.

Altcoins are really struggling, the fact that major altcoins are still struggling right now, you can't expect the low volume altcoins to be bullish.
This is the reality, the market is not in bull run yet so right now all we have to do is just to hold wait for the right time to come as eventually bullish market will come.  2017 was a good year for us crypto investors but when investing, you can't be a winner everyday, it takes timing to be profitable and that timing has not arrived yet.

The altcoin season will not start soon. If you want the altcoin season like 2017 to appear, you first need to expect bitcoin to go up to $ 20k again. I think that is the only opportunity to stimulate this market to rise again
Nice, what an honest opinion ;D. That is what I am thinking about as well. Based on my perspective, altcoin cannot stand on its own — they cannot create different path. Yeah! Each one of them are different platforms as well as considerably unique compare to btc but at the end of the day they are all flowing where btc flows. I mean, they are remaining as a shadow. If btc pumps then alt pumps, if btc declines then most of them decline as well. That's what I see on the trend.

This question has been asked by the alt enthusiasts again and again in last 2 or more years of downtrend and i have to say that it is so so disappointing to keep holding the alts that are only going down and everytime we start hoping that they will go up from now on but they dip again and even lower, i hope the season will be here soon but due to what has happened due to corona i think market will take some time to recover now.

Sadly that how it has been with those who have tried to enter into altcoins only ended up losing more money than what they thought they would lose. Comparatively bitcoin trading has been more profitable but you see many people entered the crypto trading scene with altcoins in first mind and not knowing that the person who is telling them buy an altcoin is a bagholding shill looking to sell their own coins. This unhealthy promotional system happens all the time but in crypto it is even more.

I think it will take several years now. It is better for altcoin enthusiasts now to use some spare cash if they have any to buy bitcoin at low price.

As the golden age of Alcatoin, we have only a few times in the past, exactly the same time as anyone who has earned income. But those people do not acknowledge their achievement. My point is not to say that I want to be tolerant of it all the time, less or less. Alcatoin it takes timing to be profitable and that timing has not arrived yet. Perfect timing can gain us much return on investment and gain so much money.

I agree with your opinion. If the value of coins goes up then the public is interested in buying the tokens. But when their prices are down, they start racing to sell them, so they sometimes lose their wealth. But it does not take into account that when there is a possibility of falling, then the possibility of waking up again is not lost.

It seems so, but btc to $ 15,000 is very difficult in my opinion, because this only causes halving, but does a 100% halving guarantee make btc to $15,000?, I don't think it's because there seems to be a factor that is causing this ,but let's wait for the halving to occur, because I'm also still hoping that there will be an Altseason because in 2017 and 2018 I'm late taking this moment and regret it until now.

The marketcap value of altcoin varies from marketcap value of  bitcoin when price is going up and down its does a lot bear / bull think in altcoin . I belive that altcoin season will be in a stable season in a near future .

Do not worry altcoin season will come too just hope and pray that the crypto market volume keeps on increasing steadily to confirm a longterm bull trend that will make most of the coins moon heavily i guess market should break previous all time high volume of 800 billion, if the market breaks that volume target i think within a year we will hit 2 trillion mark and at that point we would see 10 to 100x gains in most coins from where we are right now.

Such a high price will b after the halving. For now, I still expect the price to plummet immediately after the halving or some hours to the halving. However, with $15,000 can still be attained this year. In fact, the bull might start towards the end of this year.
Altcoins season should be after the halving. By then the price of bitcoin would have plunged.

If you watch closely BTC volume keeps increasing while altcoins keeps going down just few it's standing a bit.

altcoin session nobody knows when it can happen the most important thing is that you can buy some altcoin as much as possible so that when altcoin sessions actually occur after halving then you can sell them and can make a profit withdrawal from what you have bought.

Investors still have the trust of crypto, yet they are really picky in choosing altcoins to trust with. To the fact that not all altcoins are worthy nor to consider as a good investment, some of them have to fail and ignored.

If you believe that Bitcoin will be in the bullish soon, we can also think that the altcoin season would come. You can't just find altcoins to soars high alone but it was depending on the market especially to Bitcoin. And to the current market position, I don't have the confidence that altcoins season will come this year or we are in the Bullish market.

We can't eliminate the possibility because people will just follow the hype and then sell right away when they get profit.
However, if people really sees the important of halving, then we will see a good price even after the halving and it's not hype anymore its a real bullish price that could drive a bullish market in overall and altcoins season might happen this year too.

Moreover, the new altcoin project, the risk is greater. Investors will definitely prefer altcoin which has a strong market position.

The cycle, alt season will occur when BTC reaches the peak, historical data like that, right? whereas the BTC pump after halving does not happen instantly. So we just enjoy the process while filling the bag as much as possible. Always remember that there is always a risk.

We are not going to have that major altcoin rallying after bitcoin bull run because these days investors are very circumspect about what coins they are investing in unlike they were buying out of FOMO and hype in 2017. In this current era only coins that are worth their value and products are increasing in price.

Hopefully if history will repeat itself this time. Before now, there is always a good time for altcoins, but this third bitcoin halve seem different from the way things had been done, let UA wait for the time being to justify this. Investors or institutional investors had been moving their funds to altcoins investment, with this on a long-term the market is likely to go positive in price. Right now I'm not too interested in general altcoin season, to me if the altcoins in my possession are doing so well, then it's altcoin season for my holdings. I think we should focus on selecting the right coins to hold rather than waiting for the entire altcoins to move. A friend mentioned buying all top ten altcoins and wait for altcoin season, but that's not my school of thought. I'm usually very selective in the few altcoins I hold.

indeed at this time no one knows when altcoin can rise to be expensive but when conditions are still cheap altcoin prices can be utilized to buy first and after having several altcoins that have the potential to increase prices then can then hold it up to prices and can sell it when price becomes expensive.

It's still too early to talk about altcoin season, because the price of Bitcoin is still stable at $ 9000- $ 9300. So there is no sign yet
there is an altcoin season, although now all altcoins are slowly rising in price. We still have to monitor the price of Bitcoin in the
near future. If Bitcoin can return to the price of all time high, I'm sure altcoin season will happen soon. It's better now to start
buying some potential altcoins, so when altcoin season comes we can enjoy a large profit.

Those coins were getting pumped caused by their progress and it has nothing to do with what people called that as altcoin season. You should update the latest news in the crypto and you will know everything.
You can try to take a look at how CHSB has been entering the top 100 caused by it has already brought utility to its token. that's what we called as a progress

Yes, I’m sure that the adoption of bitcoin in the future is great but its seems that if the pandemic still continue to be like this, the result will surely delayed because of the big effect of the current economy of the countries and affects a lot in the different industries. The BTC have a big contribution in the altcoin season if it’s going to happen again and I might say that it will not going to happen if the BTC will price of the bitcoin will increase a lot. The last time it happened BTC straightly dominate the market and altcoins follows it.

I think the Altcoin session has already begin from this year but in a gradual process. But you can not expect every time for the super bull market as like in the 2017 it was happened. If, the COVID19 was not happened this year then we can say it definitely that the Altcoin direction perfectly.

Well in my opinion altseason not yet happened. There are too many problems because of the covid pandemic which stop altseason to begin. Altcoins will wait for the covid to be fully prevented for altseason to start any time.

Of course, if you expect the same results in the cryptocurrency market that were in 2017, then I don't know how much longer you will have to expect this. But nevertheless, if you look at the performance of Altcoins Chainlink, Tezos and VeChain in recent weeks, then their result is quite productive.

Some low-rank coins are richly doing well and it is possible that some of them would one day rise to the top 100. We might start seeing some new ones at the position most especially now that the altcoin season is almost here and around the corner.

I think it's too early to confirm this and it will take some time to know exactly what will happen next. The altcoin season has yet to appear and will certainly take at least 2 more years so it is best to consider your investment options. The best advice is to stay away from this market in July because the risk is very high and this period will usually have a big adjustment.

I think there is no specific season for altcoins, all of cryptocurrencies have trends like in forex and in stocks. Our main goal is to identify whenever a certain cryptocurrencies are in uptrend or in downtrend in order for us to understand more the price action and to have an idea when it comes to where the price will go.

Whenever the bitcoin price rises the altcoins also moves up and vice versa. So there is no season as such that only in a specified time it rises and rest of the year it does not move up. Also, if some new ICO coming of a coin which you think can provide real growth in coming time so one can invest in it. So keep buying on dips and that is the season when you have god buying opportunity.

Therefore the better question is, when is bitcoin bull run ,as definitely we might see an altcoin season when bitcoin is in a bull run especially if it surpass the current high and made a new ATH. I know everyone has been patiently waiting, that is already 2 years or over after the last bull run, and we never even experience a short run where altcoins had some stable rise, until now, altcoins still pump a bit and dump hard when bitcoin failed to break the higher resistance level.

Certainly the alts depend on the price of bitcoin. Lately you have seen alts grow very strong while bitcoin has often dropped in value, but that's considered the season altcoins. At some point when miners do not feel profitable in Bitcoin, they will sell bitcoin and create new trends on altcoins to make money on the transaction. Each year there will be such an altcoins season and it seems to be traditional in this crypto market, you should be familiar with this. it is only for a short time and this is a good time to make money on potential altcoins, especially those developed on the Defi system.

all altcoins in the cryptocurrency market are indeed very influential on BTC price movements if the price of BTC has skyrocketed altcoin prices will also immediately follow it, likewise if the price of BTC decreases altcoin prices will also go down too.

it's hard to predict when the altcoin season occurs but what I see now altcoin is better than before, maybe when big news comes altcoin will move up again and of course we are waiting for that
You are definitely right, none can predict what will happen. But no doubt altcoins are better than before, l think when BTC starts rising up, we can see that altcoins also start increasing. On the other hand it can take a time to see that. There is nothing that we can, we are still waiting for the altcoin season. I hope it will happen as soon as.
Everyone hopes that the altcoin season can return to this market again and this will surely be a great time for everyone to make money from this market. In the past few months the value of Bitcoin has increased, and it will certainly create a lot of new investment opportunities for everyone.

If you decide to invest altcoin during this time, you should consider carefully and only buy when the market enters the uptrend period.

Forget it my friend,,, people have been saying this since February 2018,,, when altcoins first started dropping like flies (to my memory). Despite all the history of crypto to show that altcoins only boom when Bitcoin is flying, and that the winter starts and lasts years after that, people still call for an altseason no matter what. Let them be.

Everyone hopes that the altcoin season may soon appear and return like 2017 but I think it will take at least a few more years for this to return. Looking at what is happening, the situation has not got many good signs and the downtrend will still overwhelm this market this year. Of course it's still impossible to know in advance so consider buying some cheap coins right now.

This is a time for you to consider investing options and accumulating more cheap coins because the market in the next few months will certainly have significant improvements. Currently, the demand for investment in this market is showing signs of increase in recent months and this will be the reason for stimulating the demand of people to buy. The crypto market is still completely dependent on Bitcoin so any fluctuation of this coin will affect the altcoin.

It is unlikely we are going to see an altcoin season soon, the confidence in altcoins and their potential to displace bitcoin as the number one coin in the market are at an all time low and I do not see any chances this is going to change, people are not as naive as they were before, they do not believe that a coin that is been released now will surpass bitcoin, in fact many do not even believe the coin will survive more than a year and with that kind of expectations then it is impossible to see an altcoin season.

To be able to do this, the price of Bitcoin needs to go higher because the coin will determine the entire market. Currently altcoin is an investment that can bring a lot of profits for investors but the risk will be huge because the crypto market is very volatile.

Personally, I would wait for the price of Bitcoin to rise to $14,000 because if this price were reached then the altcoin season would definitely return to be like 2017.

If history repeats itself we will see a drop in the next few months, but after that drop, some coins will go to the moon! It's how I remember 2016/17, and its what I read how it happened in 2011/12. We have a nice green in the last few months, but I think most of us here believe that bullish periods are yet to come.

No one can be sure when the altcoin season will occur, but its characteristics when the price of Bitcoin slowly rises. And the correction
in prices is not down too far. And now the movement of Bitcoin has slowly gone up and only dropped a few percent price correction.
This is a good sign, the possibility of altcoin season getting closer. Therefore, I suggest starting to buy some potential altcoins from

Of course, you should only invest in the top 10 CMC coins because these coins can guarantee you profit if the altcoin season comes back. However, you should take the time to analyze because there will always be risks when you choose to invest.

If Bitcoin rises then people will feel more excited and will choose to invest in altcoins a lot because it is time for them to profit from this market. I believe that if Bitcoin price can reach $13,000 then the altcoin season will return and definitely be a time you should not miss. I always thought that Bitcoin price always affected the whole market. For a long time, whales have been hailing about bitcoin to increase the value of Bitcoin and it's a tradition of the crypto market. Bitcoin has always been a valuable asset and it will affect the entire coin market as it moves. This game is for whales to create and whales have chosen Bitcoin as the coin that can manipulate the whole market. This is the rule and if anyone thinks otherwise, it is hard to make a profit in this market.

Most altcoins have now begun to make growth. this is a good moment because bitcoin and ethereum also look good on the market. an altcoin that has an update will have a good chance to make a pump. as more and more old projects make pumps on the market it will be even better for the upcoming altcoin season.

I think the market is entering uptrend and this is an opportunity that you should not ignore because it is definitely an opportunity to make profits from the top coins and it is becoming easier. Yes and although the market currently looks very good but it still does not guarantee that the altcoins season will come in the near future and also, the altcoins season will definitely occur when the price of bitcoin has surged higher or hit its ATH again, basically it still needs time and for the altcoins market it certainly won't be as fast as expected because at least it still relies on bitcoin.
The value of Bitcoin will still determine everything that will happen next and I think it is coming very close when the price of Bitcoin is rising very high today. Currently, the top coins are all in green and this is a sign that the altcoin season is about to return to the market. I don't have much money during this time but will invest all I have because I know this is the best opportunity to make money.

Some analysts state that the period until the end of 2020 will be the period for altcoin, which may even be several times more active than bitcoin. But this will be a short-term period, as there is good reason to believe that Bitcoin will increase its presence in the market as early as 2021, which will attract more investor attention than altcoin.

Altcoin season is still a secret, no one knows when it will be certain, whether in 2020 or 2021, if we observe,
now most of the altcoins go up high, but many people say that this is not yet altcoin season

didnt mean to be pessimistic but altcoin season usually come when the dominance of alts increasing significantly but now i see none of that sign. hopefully the altcoin is coming despite of the nonexistent of all those usual sign but eth will surey getting a huge pump but thats only my opinion.
if you look at the market today some altcoins are starting to experience pumping. not all but some altcoins have started this movement. especially now that bitcoin is also experiencing a small increase. if this can continue then the altcoin season may be seen this year.
Now the price of ethereum is growing much faster than the price of Bitcoin. A significant portion of altcoins are now enjoying good growth. At the same time, bitcoin capitalization has dropped dramatically lately. Only today, having dropped to 60.2 percent, its level rose slightly to 60.9 percent. This drop indicates that investors are interested in altcoins, and above all ethereum.

I say now that it has started the altcoin season, I see that most of the altcoins are currently rising and have not stopped. I haven't read the latest news, but this is similar to the beginning of the altcoin season.

The altcoin season always makes investors excited because this investment is always profitable for investors.

However, you should choose carefully and only choose the coins in the top 200 CMC because those coins are low risk and limit investment in new coins. During this period, I only spent 60% of my assets to invest and never used all my assets to invest in a coin because the risk is very high.

It will be difficult to ascertain when or how the altcoin season will start. The world's economy is still bleeding from the economic meltdown caused by the covid-19 pandemic. Altcoin will only start if everything returns back to normal as it were before. Which I do believe it will take long than expected to actualize it.
Am believing that it will happen, but when will it happen. That's my question

Bitcoin has proven herself today as top of crypto investment. Surging from $9k plus to $11k just today. Bitcoin is going to hit it's ATH soon than expected if it continues to surge like this.
I will be expecting altcoin market to bullish soon

It looks like altcoin will not to along with the bullish trend that was happening with bitcoin. It may take more time for altcoin to prepare for the bullish trend. The bull trend that happens with bitcoin didn't give a huge impact on the altcoin.

If btc go across the 13k we have to cross our fingers for the alt season. It will be soon but we have to broke the 13k price for btc or it will be difficult to see in this year. Some altcoins already have a pre-altseason like ERD and DIVI

Looking at the Bitcoin price still there is no confirmation from the predictors and the crypto enthusiast the the altcoin seasons is coming or it has the symbol of growing further. This because since after the bull run in 2017 there are many times the the price of Bitcoin and the Ethereum rebound from this level and maybe it has happened 15 times in the last three years. So, wait for the confirmation when the Bitcoin further crosses $20,000.

Giammangiato I think even if we get to 13k Bitcoin price, it will still be far from alt-coin season that most of us is waiting
for. New ATH, new bottom, for Bitcoin and that will trigger the real alt-coin season, it will be the time when many alt-coins
will make their own records, in price and market capitalization, and usage!

actually i am ready to release my holdings only the signal is what i am waiting for.

Bitcoin season that will followed with alts, but of course now all of them will reach the top[ instead?others will go down badly.

It is very difficult for Bitcoin price to reach $20,000 again because the market has not really entered the bull phase yet, and there will still be risks during this period. I think it should be more patient because the altcoin season is definitely not going to happen this year, and you need to be more patient. However, during this time you can consider investing in top coins like ETH, LTC, DASH because these are very popular investment options.

its probably gonna be overhyped season if bitcoin could reach $20 000 like it was in the 2017 where so many people talking about this new thing called cryptocurrency and invest in every corner of ICO but i cant see that happening again though the market is quite stable now and people become more hesitant or patient and not just following hype

Yes we saw bitcoin has reach now to $11k and it could be possibly some altcoins also will followed on it.
Just like etherium one of followed bitcoin to rise up the price again, And someone said it is because of coming update of 2.0 etherium, Ill think it is not because we all know on what etherium can do it is always making move on when the bitcoin rise first.

In fact, there is a possibility that the market will have a slight adjustment this week because the price of most altcoins in this market depends heavily on Bitcoin. In recent weeks, a lot of big news for investors and is attracting a lot of new investment capital so this is the strongest growth period of the crypto market. My prediction is that the altcoin season may happen again, but firstly Bitcoin price needs to reach $15,000 soon.

of course there are many supporting factors, but if BTC dominates at 40% I am sure many altcoins will go up

Kapalmabur I don't think that alt-coin season arrived. I know it's all matter of perspective, but what we are experiencing now
is just an uptrend period, I imagine alt-coin season as a period when some coins and tokens will grow a lot, much more than
now.
For that we need to patient, it's coming! People are getting more interested in what crypto-currencies have to offer, and beyond
that companies and countries are showing interest as well. As crypto-currencies are getting popularity and usage cases the price
will rise, and when masses turn to crypto-currencies that will affect the price to rise a lot!

In my opinion, this is only the beginning of the altcoin season and will need more time because the market is still very volatile now. I think the best way now is to be patient because the possibility of the altcoin season coming back is quite possible.

However, it will depend on the value of Bitcoin and if the coin can reach $13,000 this month then all the coins will go up together.

Altcoin season will start as soon as Bitcoin reach ATH. So this mean it can not even happen this year, but start in 2021. Or it can start at end of this year. We will fro sure not see Bitcoin AH before end of Autumn. To little time and to much resistance.

Despite of there's a virus, the market is improving and manage to recover right after the panic sell. It means crypto is different from other market that crash.

Altcoin season will going to happen just be optimistic because we are not certain when it will occur.

Most likely, the pump for altcoin will start in 2021. I suspect that this year a major recovery will occur. it will be seen when bitcoin reaches the price of $ 15k and ethereum reaches the price of $ 500. however, there is the great potential this year.

not always altcoins depending on BTC dominance. as proof that in 2019 bitcoin has increased but all altcoins have a broken price even ETH is powerless to rise to high prices. so that perception might happen a few years back before 2019. because now bitcoin has increased but altcoins are still crawling and cannot rise drastically

IMHO, when BTC dominate like 2017 alts will raises again, doesn't the average of all alts end up in BTC for the exchange rate, I think this is what will make the price of alts bounce back, let's see if it can go back to the way it used to, in fact I am really waiting for it to happen again!

I think the price of altcoins follows the movement of its parent coin, namelyBitcoin. But in some cases, not all Altcoins move in harmony with Bitcoin, there are some Altcoins when Bitcoin goes down, they instead increase in price. We have to analyze with various data around, and not just with one data.
