Title: A problem with ETN exchange
Post by: josephsonand on April 01, 2020, 07:21:42 AM
Hello everybody. It just so happened that I need to exchange my ETNs for LTC, but as it turned out, this is not so simple. In this case, I'm still a beginner, and not all the nuances are still known to me. I went through several trusted exchanges, like Shapeshift, Changelly, Coinbase. There is no such opportunity. Does anyone know in which instant exchange you can still exchange ETN for anything? Preferably at a not very high commission?

Here I would like to ask whether it is worth doing ETN mining at all, given the fact that such difficulties arise with its exchange and application?

ETN is not listed on shapeshift and changelly and even coinbase, here are lists of exchanges that you can sell ETN for LTC, though on some you won't see ETN/LTC pair direct, you will need to change to BTC before turning to LTC

1. CoinBene
2. Kucoin
3. Hitbtc
4. Huobi Global
5. Biki
6. Liquid

this is the best option you can do sell it on the list provided above then after selling that coins buy ltc then widraw to your wallet.

Just choose one exchange if you dont know how to use that exchange just search in a google and you will find many  video tutorials how to use that exchange.

Kucoin is one of the easiest to start with. But they may need you to go with the KYC for withdrawals. But the KYC is easier than many others like hitbtc, huobi and Liquid. No idea about CoinBene but they also require KYC.
If you just want to convert your coin to ETN to store in a wallet, I'd recommend you a spot exchange like SimpleSwap which does not require KYC and have no withdrawal fees.

You wouldn't find an exchange where you can exchange your ETN directly to LTC. In most exchanges, ETN will be paired with BTC or ETH. In Kucoin, I believe there is ETN/USDT pair. So if you want to exchange ETN for LTC, go to an exchange suggested by VDraci, change it to BTC and then to LTC

Here I would like to ask whether it is worth doing ETN mining at all, given the fact that such difficulties arise with its exchange and application?
I wouldn't suggest mining of ETN and it might not be very profitable. Moreover, the price of ETN has been on the downtrend since the begining and I don't think it will get any better.

In this case I trust kucoin the most, the exchange is well secured and have high trading volume, all the exchanges OP listed aren't supporting ETN yet or ETN is not listed on the exchanges yet, another small exchange that support ETN with no hassle is tradeogre

You will find a market list for exchanging Electroneum in here CoinMarketCap (https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/electroneum/markets/)

I prefer HitBTC and second option is KuCoin, Use these exchanges cause it's are very popular and remains high liquidity. both of these have LTC-USDT pair. You can easily exchange & they will take a small cut-off. Another thing is no KYC is required for exchanging crypto at beginner level.

I never heard before those exchange besides Coinbase. And u already know that ETN didn't listed on of those exchanges you are talking about. You can track here (https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/electroneum/markets/) in which exchange ETN can trade able. I think you have no idea how to track a coin info or where it's listed or not. Simply go CoinMarketCap (https://coinmarketcap.com/all/views/all/) or CoinGecko (https://www.coingecko.com/en/coins/all) for coin information. Use search option for quick results. If somehow you don't find your specific coin then try to reach their telegram group and ask about exchange listing.

ETN is listed on some good exchanges such as Kucoin, Hitbtc, Huobi etc, you can choose the one you want or familiar with, also you can visit the coinmarketcap to choose from the list of others; as for me I prefer Kucoin more.
In addition, whenever you are faced with such issue about knowing the exchange a coin is listed on, always visit coinmarketcap and search for it, it is faster. If you can't find it then visit the group to get the right information it is also faster, lastly you can also ask here, just like you did.
For ETN mining, it's being a long time I heard anything about it until today as those who were doing it then all gave up, because according to them it was not worth it, nevertheless you can still give it a trial if you want.

It is very simple thing to do but not that straight conversion, most of the coins have BTC and USDT pair, so  convert your ETH to USDT or BTC first and then use the BTC or USDT to buy LTC, the only thing here is that the transaction fees would increase but would likely be the same with Shapeshift exchange because their transaction  fee is very high

very difficult to avoid high commission especially if it is on an exchange such as shapeshift or changelly, it is highly recommended to exchange your ETN on a Centralized Exchange such as Kucoin for example because from my experience, the exchange still has a fairly cheap fee and if it is still expensive can be reduced using their token exchange (kcs) and also for small exchange transactions it is still worth using compared to binance.

I personally would not recommend using etn, since this currency is really not so widely used at present. As you say, many exchange problems can arise. In this case, when you use a popular currency, you can always exchange this currency without any problems on any exchanger convenient for you, as you said, such as coinbase or changelly. Personally, I use changelly, although there are other similar exchangers.

Try other exchanges that people talked about above. Or try, for the sake of experiment, mining a different currency, and then you can change the currency on your favorite exchange, such as Changelly, or even on Coinbase.

The problem the exchange he said he want to convert it doesnt list that coins.

The only way is to learn other exchange how to use it and sell it there where this coins is listed.

Then if you still want to use that exchange use it after you convert it to other currency.

Since you are a beginner; For future reference, the first and best way to know where a coin is trading on is by going through coinmarketcap, then using the search engine to search for the coin or token you want, samething can be done for exchanges so that you don't visit a phishing website. So after getting the search result, you can proceed to the exchange to sell or buy as the case maybe. Talking about ETN it is listed on several cryptocurrency exchanges already of which I find Kucoin better owing to volume, trading pairs (that is, you can sell to BTC, USDT or ETH) etc, and as for those exchanges you mentioned, I do not think ETN is trading there; so you can visit coinmarketcap and do the needful. Furthermore, you asked about their mining, I don't know much about it now because when I tried then, it was a waste of time.
For Coinmarketcap visit: https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/electroneum/markets/
