We all know the changes that started in the world because of the Corona virus and its risks and because of the risk of its spread, the World Health Organization asked people to stay away from the use of paper currency for a period of time in order to reduce friction between people and reduce the spread of the virus, as it asked everyone to use cryptocurrencies for a period of time Also, there are many charitable and health organizations that requested donations through the Bitcoin currency
This is what made many fraudsters take advantage of this issue, as many fraudsters asked for donations from people in the name of health and charitable organizations. Where people donate to these organizations that are fake and the money is stolen by the fraudsters Unfortunately it is difficult to follow the addresses of these fraudsters so I hope that everyone will pay attention to this matter and not donate to any organization before verifying its authenticity and credibility

Its common that scammers will try their best to make people fool and they haven’t got pure soul to think about pandemic or anything else. All the need is money and they don't care about from where it comes. In previous time we have seen that these evils took advantage of any kinda worse situation and all their plan is to steal people's money through using emotions or something similar.

This time some scammers are trying to use the scope of donation during Covid-19 and their intention is to attract soft hearted people who love help helpless people by makong donation. As far as i know WHO take donation and donation option is available on their website too. Its better to donate there rather then wasting money by giving donation on scammers platform. Hope people will be enough careful about it.

Very true, don't let them be a hero in your eye coz they told you something that has not been proven because it will just blind you. Money is all they want, if anyone go after you randomly or some
stranger in the internet approach you at least be observant or do not hesitate to ignore at all. Scammers be fishing even at times during people are very needy for what their necessities are, that's how

Corona virus plus scammers will really blow your head off if these two gets in your way. Donation  with crypto is a total bullcrap don't even try to click it.

It's not a surprise, scamers and criminals always misuse situations like this and try to get financial gain for themselves. It's an ideal opportunity when people are vulnerable and fall easy for such attempts. That is why education and awareness is very important, that is the only way to protect people from becoming a victims.

I just feel sad about such people who scam people even in these circumstances. Don't they have any fear that they could also have this virus ? What can be more worse than to hurt people when they are already in deep trouble by the coronavirus. They should be bought in the court of law, if anyone knows their identity.

We cannot really deny that even in the middle of the pandemic there are still a lot of scammers that is taking an advantage and scam some people. Instead of helping one another they try get some profit by scamming. How sad but this is really the reality.

where do you people get this kind of news from? i never heard any organization, let alone WHO ask people to use "cryptocurrencies" ever! bitcoin alone is not mass adopted yet to be used by people during quarantine, not to mention that adoption is practically non-existent for altcoins.

Only fool would believe a charity that accepts cryptocurrency today, because most of these people is either straight scamming crypto enthusiasts or wants to have altcoins in their wallet regardless if it's a shitcoin or not, the possibility of these coins to pump are always there. And why should I use Bitcoin to donate on a charity, when I can use debit cards to do so. It's a waste of resource when you're using Bitcoin as a donation.
Also, I wouldn't trust any NGO's that easily.

What does WHO think that encourages the use of cryptocurrency? What about countries that have not legalized crypto, there is no solution? That is clearly not an official WHO statement, and basically you've received wrong information from illegitimate sites which is the beginning of fraud.
I think this is more advisable to use features of local bank services such as i-bangking or other instant payment services instead of using papercurrency directly.

So if you really wanted to donate or something, might be good if you are going to start to help your local community first before giving out money to health organizations like WHO. It's far safe, instead of going online because you really don't know who to trusted at this point. Some scam websites really looks good and you can't even say that this is a fraud site. So much better go local first, IMHO.

Ah. Assumptions. WHO suggested that we stay away from physical cash in the meantime, but they never said that we should use cryptocurrencies; well, unless you have a source to show us? Digital currency != cryptocurrency.

Don't you know that these sect's of individuals never care about humans but always care of ideas in his they can easily scam gullibles across boards, we have the worst humanity when it come to scammers because they are careless what will happen to their victims after they're been scam. We have seen when families developed depression when these miscreants scam them of their belongings.

Scammers are considered criminal because they harm other people and stole money from them. It is almost the same as a robber, they stole money, but the difference is that scammers fool people using technologies. They really do what they can just to persuade people to give their to money to them.

They use some fake organizations, fundraising, fake applications, just for people to subscribe to them, donate to them, and that's how they try to steal your money. Once the transactions has been processed then you have nothing to do but to regret it. That's the reason why we should always check the legitimacy of the fundraiser or organizations that we are rooting for just to help other people.



As this pandemic is progressively increasing its cases, the number of scammers that is making fake fundraising is also increasing. They will never stop unless this pandemic stops. They're just making money because of this virus, they take advantage of this pandemic so those soft-hearted people who wants donate are their victim. We also should check if they have a license or some strong evidences that they are a legit fundraiser before we send our money if we are willing to help.

Even there's a pandemic outbreak still there are a lot of people trying to take advantage, and some of them are using the event of COVID 19 to get the sympathy of the people but still always aware guys there are a lot of people getting scammed already and take not it is better to make aware even this kind of event exists some of the people getting some fundraising, and they use that money they earned just to get a lot of income also be aware of the phishing because of most of the time it cause of trouble to don't always click some links that are not secured and also be mindful of that.

This is an old strategy of scam, fraudulent charities that asking donations from people who didn't know which is an official website. They are always great impersonators just to fool naive people for easy money that always appear every disaster may happen. Just make sure you've led on the right website if you wanted to donate.

Unsurprisingly, fraudsters used clever ideas to make profit from people's suffering. The lives and situation that people are currently facing don't matter because they only think for themselves. They defraud people for their own gain, but they don't recognize how their actions affect someone's life. Some of them pretend to be a part of a prominent organization to perpetrate awful acts. Fraudsters never stopped on continuing their system and they consistently improve it, so people should do research to confirm that it is legitimate.

I don't donate money to any Charity organization I don't know. Whenever I am donating to a charity, it must be one that I know very much and I'm sure they are legit. If it's to all these ones that are popping out from nowhere and expecting donations from people, nah I don't give to them. Any organization that wants to build itself must start locally and grow to a worldwide level.

You don't just come out from nowhere and claim to be a charity organization and expect people to donate to you, no it doesn't work that way. And most of the donations I make are to the charities in my locality and to orphanages. Sometimes I go directly to them to make my donations.

There are UNICEF and World Vision but I don't trust those organizations. I'd rather give to those house charities that I come across because I get to see the recipients myself.

There are a lot of reports where people are abusing and taking advantage of this pandemic to collect and gather donations which is not a legit organization. There are a lot of people who are being fooled by these scammers and many victims are really losing their money to nothing. People are inhumane whenever they think that this is the right opportunity to take advantage of this event so that they can really scam people's money.

If you are willing to help and give some donations, you should always check the credentials of the organization if they are supported and connected by the authority. If that so, you can confirm that the said fundraisers are legit and now you are safe and comfortable to donate your money to them.

Some organizations are lacking of some credentials and doesn't surpass the requirement to become authorized and that will serve as your basis and evidence if they are legit. Hopefully they stop those doings so that we have a peaceful services on helping other people and minimize this scamming events.

This is true, I have seen so many pushing websites promoting the helps for the pandemic virus affected, there are also many scammers that uses this current situation to fool other people, they know that most of the people now are lack of money because of being temporarily unemployed to lessen the risk of spreading the virus and yet the scammers uses this as an advantage to pool other people, they know that people will take the offer and that is why scammers  why victims.

I really hate those people or those scammers that uses this bad situation to pool other people or to steal money from others. They don't even think the people who will get suffered because of what they have done.

How on earth anyone take advantage of the pandemic situation and make money out of it. The only solution to this is that before giving any donation or charity to any individual or organization, one need to carefully verify if they are legit or not.

And as long as the pandemic is not completely eradicated, cyber criminals are going to used it as leverage to scam people out. Scammers will not succeed if people are educated with the type of scams, we will not stop educating ourselves so these scammers will be tired of doing their thing until they stop.

The problem is that some scammers pretend to be representatives of the most famous organizations, including the WHO. Sometimes it's easy to spot a scam like that, but if it comes from what looks like an official corporate email of the WHO, and asks for a donation of some BTC to the address they provide, many can be inclined to believe that's the real deal.
Of course, they should, I am pretty sure it's a criminal offense. The problem is that contemporary technologies allow the scammers to remain anonymous if they operate carefully. People get scammed all the time, but it's not often that the scammers are caught.

People just fabricate stuff and make them news on their own without any source, I also did not read from anywhere when world health organisation give authorization of cryptocurrencies be used for a period of time,  this is self fabricated news am pretty sure of it, @op should either provide a source of this news or correct his post not to mislead people.

There are obvious red flags when scammers attack and I think educating people about it especially older people because most of them do not know much about computer and most of them are the targets of this attacks and scams. The most common red flag is when they e-mail you and they claim to be from the government or any institute, this is the biggest red flag for me because government institutes do not personally e-mail their citizens. We can't blame this scammers though because they too are desperate and this is the only oppurtunity given to them unless you are a grade A psychopath and you do it for the thrill and misery of other people.

It seems to me that we are talking about cashless payments in order to protect people from contact with each other using paper money. perhaps people submit information not only untrue, but also distorted. in my country, the government asks people to use bank cards and smartphones using terminals, for everything that requires payment, Like in a store, So in public transport or in other places, but cryptocurrency is really not talking about.

As we are definitely living in a modern and online environment, we are dealing with information left and right yet unfortunately people these days can easily be swayed to open up their wallets even without verifying if the people they are dealing with can be legit or just frauds. there are one charity that i have donated here in our country and everything is legit,i once volunteered to help them in giving away the donations
 to the family in depressed areas in where the most affected and needed family resides and it is good
feeling to personally hand over your own donations.


first we will not become a victim if we will make thorough research first befor giving our crypto to the allotted addresses because even in those we can find some legit transactions though must be better to at least learna bout the charity itself .
