Title: Re: Hidden pages, hidden features on the forum Post by: masulum on April 25, 2020, 12:20:11 PM This month Theymos announce new ways to create shortlink for internal URL. Maybe you can add this feature on your list, because i believe lot of member not aware about it and can be one of hidden feature.
I'd guess that you're getting that because the post is over the size limit, gets truncated, and the truncated post has unclosed tags. Note that it's difficult to exactly calculate the length of a post as the forum sees it, since various conversions are made before counting; for example, " " (two spaces) actually counts as 7 bytes for length-limit purposes because it's converted to " " before counting. Try removing https://bitcointalk.org from the links to make the post shorter. These are the same: Code: [url=https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1775207.msg17740024#msg17740024]17740024[/url] Code: [url=/index.php?topic=1775207.msg17740024#msg17740024]17740024[/url] Title: Re: Hidden pages, hidden features on the forum Post by: tranthidung on April 25, 2020, 12:22:42 PM Okay. I know it was hen theymos replied that LoyceV question but forgot adding it in OP. Thank you. JlI take a short break now and come back to OP later.
Title: Re: Hidden pages, hidden features on the forum Post by: Lafu on April 25, 2020, 03:09:00 PM You can look at this thread maybe too , Interessante Seiten für und im Forum (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5119716.0)!
We have something similar in the German local Board done in the past from User fronti (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=34692) ! Its in German but maybe you get some links that you dont know ! Hope the thread helps you a little and you can add something . Title: Re: Hidden pages, hidden features on the forum Post by: so98nn on April 25, 2020, 03:40:20 PM Interesting thread. It will surely help new comers and also more or less existing users since these are hidden boards.
Since this could be most viewed thread you can also add link to Latest Bitcoin Core release. I know its in the top of page but still I have seen threads asking for the links to download. Just to highlight we can have it. By the way, the color bands were looking beautified and organised, I'm not sure why you removed them ? Title: Re: Hidden pages/ features on the forum Post by: Timelord2067 on April 26, 2020, 06:00:04 PM ;dt
Specifically, are there any lists of commands that you can put in the URL such as https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=131361;dt <--- note the ;dt ... IIRC there were ones that could narrow down the lists on the trust feedback page to just e.g. the positive, or negative. I've seen other ones, but haven't ever written any down. There's also these BBCodes that may be of help to others: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=4738016.msg51087192#msg51087192 (note countdown BBCodes (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=4738016.msg52581428#msg52581428) don't work here) Title: Re: Hidden pages/ features on the forum Post by: NeuroticFish on May 15, 2020, 09:17:45 AM I think that this list would be worthy to get pinned and maybe also moved to More (https://bitcointalk.org/more.php) (although many miss that gem).
And speaking about More, you could "import" other links from there, like Support for hacked/lost accounts (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5089777.0) Edit: I'll put two more that could be worthy Forum ranks/positions/badges (What do those shiny coins under my name mean?) (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=178608.0) List of Bitcointalk.org Userscripts/ Add-ons (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5148488.0) Title: Re: Hidden pages/ features on the forum Post by: Saint-loup on May 17, 2020, 09:25:36 PM ... Very useful post tranthidung but you forgot to mention the link of the user IP logs https://bitcointalk.org/myips.php the page showing if you are proxy banned and how much you have to pay to access the forum https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=credit;unproxyban and the (very) secret page showing who is currently online https://bitcointalk.org/SSI.php?ssi_function=whosOnline I would also add the direct link of the Drafts page https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=drafts the location of the number of merits sent during the last 30 days https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=merit;stats=topsend (at the top of the page) and the number of merits sent in all time https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=merit;stats=topsendat (top of the page too) And that small tip : when you are on the page to merit someone, like https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=merit;msg=54295426 for example, if you click on "Merit" from Bitcoin Forum > Merit you will reach https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=merit while it doesn't seem to be a hyperlink. Title: Re: Hidden pages/ features on the forum Post by: tranthidung on August 24, 2020, 10:15:29 AM Another hidden feature is found, this time for advanced Search to exclude results by some keywords.
Creating additional features for "old archived releases" of a software can be very tricky to say the least. If it helps you can exclude keywords from search Quote A minus sign in front of a word excludes the word Source (https://github.com/SimpleMachines/SMF2.1/blob/fdc9c476450851c9173f76821a8dc1aac2c8f1e2/Sources/Search.php#L699)So if you search "A -B" you would get posts with A that do not include B Hope it helps :) Title: Re: Hidden pages/ features on the forum Post by: tranthidung on August 25, 2020, 05:12:31 PM I will add those pages to OP later. For sorting PMs (inbox/ outbox) by username, you can go to your inbox/ outbox page, then click on From or To to sort messages out. There is no way to list all PMs and sort them by username, this feature only allows to sort out each 20 PMs.

Remember to leave source link of my thread in your translation thread. If you won't, you will be caught as plagiarism that results in permanent ban.May I translate your tread on the local Indonesian board? if possible please reply my message This is your tread: Hidden pages/ features on the forum (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5243405.msg54295426#msg54295426) Thankyou. Best regards, Tran Dzung Thank you sir for permission to translate your thread. But before that I apologized because I just finished today and I made it. This is all because of Covid-19, my job is a bit tougher. The following is the result of my translation in the Indonesian Sub Forum[Edukasi][Diskusi]- Daftar Halaman Tersembunyi dan Deskripsi (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5285039.msg55472248#msg55472248) Once again, thank you very much, this is very useful for me and maybe in a local forum. -snip- Here are a few PGP public keys that you might need. You can usually just paste the whole thing into a command prompt: https://bitcointalk.org/verify_pubkeys.txt Title: Re: Hidden pages/ features on the forum Post by: tranthidung on October 29, 2020, 12:44:30 PM Thank you sir for permission to translate your thread. I did not remember I have conversation with you in PM. :POnce again, thank you very much, this is very useful for me and maybe in a local forum. I always reply to any people who contact me in PM for acceptance to do translations of my threads "You are free, always to do so. Just remember to leave links (for respect and for your account safety -- plagiarism causes perma-ban) Please correct this typo in your translation too.
Is it just a typo? Because as far as I know the correct one is PGP (Pretty Good Privacy) Public Key. It is a typo and you make me surprised that I did neither notice the typo nor many guests of this thread. I therefore much thankful for your typo finding. After month, it has been corrected.Title: Re: Hidden pages/ features on the forum Post by: Luzin on October 29, 2020, 03:44:43 PM Thanks for your time to translate it. Maybe too many messages got in for you. So you need a lot of energy to remember. ;D For the Typo problem, thank you I will correct it. I just saw you writing Pubic was not public. But all is well. To be honest, I did not test it with smiley and I only focused on list in bbcode. I am sure if you had not told me, I would have not been aware of this issue. I made that topic Small reminder for you when name your topic titles and tag with LIST block (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5227043.0) because I saw it is very annoying. After that, I was taught about nobbc. It is how it happened. Title: Re: Hidden pages/ features on the forum Post by: tranthidung on March 07, 2023, 03:25:59 PM Bump after a long time!
With a hidden feature "Show all" which I knew but totally forgot to add it here.
*: Thread printing for topics with 25 pages+, check in "Show All" on long topics (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5112444.0) Title: Re: Hidden pages/ features on the forum Post by: joker_josue on March 08, 2023, 08:03:26 AM Thanks for compiling the information.

Security bounties (https://bitcointalk.org/sbounties.php). It is added to the list today and hopefully it will help some bounty hunters who are expert in security. ;D They can report security vulnerabilities in bitcointalk.org & get paid in bitcoin. :D Title: Re: Hidden pages/ features on the forum Post by: vapourminer on August 22, 2023, 11:55:37 AM ive seen the security bounty page before (many years ago) but i thought it was denominated in grams of Au instead of USD? or has it always been USD and im just remembering wrong?

Your memory is correct.Security bounties (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=309785.0) was announced in 2013 and initially rewards are in ounce of gold, exactly as you recalled. Before finding the announcement thread, I checked Wayback machine but the first snapshot was in May 2021 and I actually thought you remembered it incorrectly. May 2021 snapshot (https://web.archive.org/web/20210518060038/https://bitcointalk.org/sbounties.php) with rewards in bitcoin. That was changed years ago. I am still unsure when it was changed as in the thread, the reward was still in XAU in 2017 and 2018. No announcement from theymos about the change.Added: Extra bounties These bounties use a separate system of calculation, but are subject to the same conditions as above. - 1 XAU: Find the email address of user DefaultTrust (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=122551;sa=summary) and explain in detail how you did it. Troy ounces of gold. My guess, theymos changed it in May 2021 and made that snapshot on Wayback machine. It it was, that makes sense if theymos wanted to award as highest as possible in value for security bounty hunters. As since 2018, price of bitcoin is better than gold and has been continuing to rise more. Risk of dead for Bitcoin has been becoming smaller and smaller. |
