Title: Some good Dex Exchanges
Post by: CryptoYar on May 14, 2020, 10:10:23 PM
In that post, List of cryptocurrency exchange hacks (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5237828)
I told you which are the exchanges that have been hacked so far, if you have read that post then you can say most centralized exchanges have been hacked, so I thought that decentralized exchanges should be encouraged.

This is a nice list OP but can you make a clickable link for each DEX so we know they are the official ones? Because some sites are imitating them. I am familiar with very few of them. Also, if you can put the date where you got the 24h volume as it varies from time to time.

Thanks for this list. I always like dex exchange to exchange unlisted currency. Dex exchange also help to complete a deal with unknown person.

To be honest, although i support dex concept but it is strange to see that even the dex from big platforms are not getting much volume and even if we compare the top dexes in this list the volume is nothing as compared to centralized exchanges, looks like it will take a long time for dex adoption.

It is strange that DEX are still lacking of enough volume while they are the best. May be all the CEX use fake volume? You can add the above list into the OP, that would be good. Anyway, good job.

I must say this is one of the good list I saw here about dex. Has anyone here uses deversifi? I noticed they are the most high volume compared to everyone in the list. Its just I read it here and never knew this dex before. Even most popular dex such as Binance, Idex, kyber network, bancor has surpass in terms of volume.

I think the bisq network is also missing and komodo network dex.

Goos job on preparing this OP, hope you can add in the list my recommendation. Also, if you have idea on deversifi, hope you can share your thoughts about it. The volume is interesting and probably a good comparable to cex.

Presently Centralized exchanges are better than Dex, Ido use Dex some times but only the instaswap platforms like switcheo, uniswap, shapeshift, etc, what Dex lacks is liquidity and volumes too

Thank you for sharing this! I am so taken by surprise that the two biggest volume DEX on that list are not even DEXs I have ever heard of, and the biggest news for me is that one is even in Singapore? Whalex, I really have to check this one out,,, and Deversifi.

Has anyone tried any of them yet? Millions of USD per day must mean something.

good information. So far, the most popular Dex exchanges that I use most are Forkdelta, Idex, and Binance Dex. Well, I don't really know about quality from other places. but, those three places are my priority in selling tokens that sometimes don't have an official market yet.

Thanks for sharing good info about DEX exchanges as I have never heard before about maximum dex sites you have mentioned here in your post. I only use Idex, Binance Dex.

I have tried bamboo relay and damn they have the lowest possible fees for ETH tokens. Kyber too has a good fees.  Polonidex for Tron tokens and StellarTerm for XLM once. There should be more approach for cross platform dex as anyone that have tried it hasn't been quite successful. I would definitely recommend DEX if you are instantly trading your coin from one to another.

Dex has the lowest fee you could ever think about but not all of them are good, and dex is a very bad choice for new startup projects, they will die due to lack of trading volume, it seems not everyone like using Dex exchanges till today and I can't blame them, Centralized exchanges offers the best services over all

There is no suck thing as good DEXes in my opinion, you will see this if you look at Binance DEX daily volume, that is a small fraction of their centralized exchange and this it says all.

Never trust a book by its cover. If you chose an exchange solely by its volume then you are in for a surprise. I like your list which includes a few small dex exchanges with low volume. Thanks, I will try to see if any one in that list good enough for use if there is a project on them.

Not all these Dex exchanges are trustable, few exchanges like idex have too many bad reviews and many still thinks Dex are unhackable? Well you need to do some research because Dex aren't that impenetrable anymore, I still suggest not leaving coins any any Dex wallet or other exchanges, your coins are only safe in your very own wallet

However, at least a decentralized exchange top guarantees security and compensation when hacking occurs. However, CEX and DEX have advantages and disadvantages of each and every person has their respective tendencies. I entrust more security to DEX, besides that it has more functionality and high liquidity. On the other hand, we can exchange it directly with fiat. So it's more effective :)

Nice feedback for bamboo relay. I have encountered that but ignored it as I haven't seen any feedback from the users. Now, I know someone already tried, I will definitely check them out. Thanks for that. I think it is safe to use DEX as long as you have all the credentials like private key in safe.

I agree, DEX is still overshadowed by CEX exchange which has a history of being hacked and also with fake volume, listing scam coins etc. I guess the hype surrounding CEX is still up in the air, by I do hope that crypto traders know that there are a lot of exploits and vulnerabilities on them. And with regulations coming very hard on DEX, I do hope that traders are going to look at the CEX more specially in the list that the OP has provided.

Wow, they are already a lot. Still, the volumes that are coming from them are not that much.

I guess it's just most of the traders are used to centralized exchanges and they find it ok and that might be the reason why they don't want to use any other DEX because cex is enough. Maybe someday, traders will realize that it's better to use a DEX.

Ever since I got used to trading on exchanges, I have been super impressed by the security and simplicity of Dexs. You control everything and don't have to necessarily have your assets at the exchanges. You have them in your wallet and only get to trade them via the Dex smart contract which limits any form of theft or loss of assets due to hacks. Idex has been my go to exchange ever since, it offers everything I need and lacks any form of complexities which is a good thing. There are several other Dexs on the list which have all proven to be very solid over the years. In all sincerity, I prefer Dex to Cex.

If they are the best like you said, definitely they won't lack behind too much, but that's not the case because from the list above and their volume you can see that users still prefer CEX than DEX, you can not compare the number of users trading in any of the top exchanges, traders need volume to trade,  most dex don't have such volume, and also why we don't have enough traders on dex!
And on a side note, most crypto enthusiasts always looking forward to see a project listed on this top centralized exchange (even with the fake volume talk) have you ever ask yourself why is that!

I still prefer Idex than them for the user friendly UI but look at the volume. It really in bad shape.

I never know that the DEX site has grown than the last time I used the Dex Exchange in a few years ago. It is great for Kyber Network, Binance, Idex to be the top Dex Exchange from that list, so people who want to trade on the DEX can directly to visit on the website.

Thank you for sharing the Dex Exchanges list. But once again, you need to research by yourself to find what Dex Exchanges that will suit you to trade the token.

A lot of exchanges are available in this market, and of course, high security is what these exchanges are always interested in. However, the liquidity in decentralized exchanges is still bad, so you will sometimes have a lot of trading problems. I only trade when coins are earned from bounty campaigns and will try to sell at the highest price.

Eversince centralized exchanges become famous and the trend of IEO, these dexes were overpowered. I am forkdelta user too but lately I rarely used it now, especially bounty tokens from altcoin are not worth it anymore. Many traders even leave using this exchange too.

Idex become more popular and advance compared to them. Lots of dex now has started to develop and I hope they will progress more since KYC on centralized exchanges are not really good and dangerous.

I do not think if Deversifi is better than forkdelta because the volume is higher,
it looks like the decentralized exchange will be a famous platform for the future, moreover Binance also already has a DEX platform

Title: Re: Some good Dex Exchanges

I didn't realize Whaleex has that much volume compare to Newdex where I usually try to trade.
Vitex Exchange is becoming popular also since it's giving passive income for the VX stakers.

DEX is a good idea in general but actually volume there is too low

There were some developments about liquidity pool that some developers were saying but none of them ever updates about it. With liquidity pool, the volume of all dex might just compete the CEX at some point. It is however very risky since its like consolidating all the funds in a pot and shall attract hackers as motivation.

Practically every DEX suffers from this problem.

Even the Binance DEX, which has one of the highest trade volumes of any DEX still pales in comparison to even smallish centralized exchange platforms.

The blockchains just aren't capable of handling the huge number of transactions needed per second.

In the past I have used Etherdelta, Forkdelta and Idex. The main issue with all of them is the lack of liquidity. It was very difficult for me to convert some of my tokens to ETH, using these platforms. That said, the last time I used these DEX sites was almost two years ago. Now my friends are saying that the situation has improved a lot. And in particular, they seems to be quite impressed with Binance DEX.

Some tips:
  • Always use a wallet that you provide a private key.
  • Always use 2FA security on exchanges.
  • Never hold coins ever longer on the exchange.
  • Try to use a paper wallet or hardware wallet.
Thanks for this information regarding about difference DEX platform. I never know that there are lot of them to
choose in to trade crypto in the market. I definitely agreed that using private key was one of the safest thing

I think the trading volume displayed is not entirely correct because I know that trading volumes in an exchange place can be manipulated so I think only exchange places that have a good reputation have real trading volume, whereas other exchange places that have that much trading volume are very doubtful.

Deversifi and WhaleEx are still unfamiliar, so far I don't know the dex exchange which has the highest volume other than Idex, it seems doubtful that dex shows the highest volume and it is recommended to keep researching dex exchange especially for the new dex platform.

In my opinion, DEX exchange is less attractive in my opinion because of the small liquidity so that very rarely many people use DEX as their trade, but Forkdelta often becomes a dumping ground after being generated from bounties, so there I think DEX is not the best in daily trading.

Only IDEX, in my opinion, has a high liquidity so there are many useful tokens there.

IDEX is my favorite DEX where i have been trading from the beginning of launched. It is very easy but i has a problem to trade below 0.15 worth of ETH. I have also favorite dex is Binance DEX. I don't like forkdelta, Etherdelta now but once it was very popular before  hacked.

Great, thanks for the OP list, but is that a true listed volume? that was huge for Diversifi and WhaleX I can't believe that a Decentralized Exchange has gained that volume in 24 hours that was amazing and good to know, By the way, there are a few things to be clear, about those top volume, Decentralized Exchange that was mention Is it accessible and easy to use for everyone because that matters most for the new users.

Deversifi and WhaleEx With 24-hour volumes of $ 68,575,952 and $ 25,023,711, respectively. I think that this is a fake volume, but this volume of 2 exchanges is more than the total volume of all other exchanges on this list. I think these 2 exchanges should not be on this list.

It's good that there are many DEXs today despite the fact not everyone uses them because of volume, but at least it is a proof that decentralization can still exist even in the world of crypto exchanges; although not all DEX are completely decentralized. Nevertheless, I think the only limiting factor of DEX is volume and once worked on and in addition with its good security, it will build a good and healthy competition with centralized exchanges.

I think uniswap and paraswap are really good i will not only call them under dogs but under rated as well, i think they are better even as compared to some big dexes and i think they have huge potential to cater future tokens market and they can compete with big names in future.

the most important thing about DEX is that their system should be safer from hacker attacks,
if in the next 10 years DEX is without any hacking news then it is certain that DEX is a safe place for us

This is really good information on decentralised exchanges. I only know 2-3 of them. Exchanges should lovers the transaction fees and focus more on security to gain confidence of their investors. Also listing good projects is one of the most important thing.

The centralized exchanges basically all have that power of volume and marketing because they are making a ton more money and they could use that money to get bigger. Think about it, all the money stays at CZ for binance, he gets all that money and he could just use it however he pleases, so he does marketing like crazy and he even gives away money to others via affiliate income if you invite some people.

It is simple to realize why the centralized ones beat over the decentralized ones years ago, its simple because they have basically billions of dollars for future profits if they continue this way, and they can spend it that way. Facebook literally didn't made the amount of money Binance did on its first 3 years, not saying Binance will be bigger but it certainly had a bigger start.

The reason why Decentralized exchanges do have high volumes because of random trade, you see if you are just looking for a one stop shop to sell your bitcoin you won't need to undergo the KYC process, that's what the dex are giving us, the convenient way of trading. I can say, centralized exchanges are just for wealthy people who needs to be extra careful and secure with their funds you can randomly use a cex but it has a limit after all. But now? centralized are getting more power than decentralized exchanges.

Deversifi is Decentralized Ethereum Exchange. That's what it is after I just visited it. Its never really that well known here in bitcointalk forum, its the first time I heard of it. I tried searching but nowhere I can find their ANN thread here.  WhaleEx had been posted in the forum many times but that I know is that most tokens there are EOS tokens.

Deversifi is more interesting because it looks very pro and it has this OTC which doesn't really sound like DEX.

But still, DEXs have a real problem with a liquidity due to low trading volume.  :'(

I got my eye on NAsh Exchange for some time.. there development is ramping up the correct way, for example it lets you trade bitcoin-usdc in a non custodial way.. always having ur keys which makes it a frontrunner to all other CEX exchanges, then i think soon they will provide a fiat ramp and give back the fee's made by traders to there exchange STO holders.

Binance is growing very fast, and every platform of this exchange makes investors feel very excited to join.

I think Binance DEX is a trustworthy exchange, and it will soon become the leading decentralized exchange in the Cryptrypto market. Besides, CZ always has a lot of ways for people to make money in this market, but you have to be the first.

This is also my first time to see that, I always try to visit dapps ranking site and those sites are not even listed there. it looks like that dapps rank site needs to update their info about this. That dex has a very huge daily trade volume and that looks so strange. it's very similar as etherflyer

Each decentralized exchange has its strengths, as for me, Idex and Binance Dex are the best-decentralized exchanges in this market. Of course, there are still plenty of options for you, but I only encourage you to use these two exchanges to ensure profit because the coins here are carefully checked before listing. However, there are still some bad coins and no trading volume, so stay away from when you see that.

The DEX we know today are probably nothing compare to what is coming specially the Synthetix. Jarvis Exchange seem to be one that is coming to be developed. There is really more to the new dex that's coming now that Defi is almost here. We may be ignoring the old ones by the time exchanges with synthetic assets come.

I think I cannot agree with you in your statement because there is no such exchange that will ensure profit on their traders, even if the most popular centralized exchanges in the market, there are still a lot of traders and investors who lose their money.

in terms of security decentralization exchange is still better than exchange centralization, maybe this is just my opinion, because I have been using IDEX for a long time, Forkdelta from 2017 and my funds are still safe, what do you think?

DEX are good and they would have been better if they have good volume comparable to that of centralized exchanges, however, I believe one day there will be a turn around. Also, it is already known that centralized exchanges are not to be fully trusted especially in terms of security and with record showing a good number of them being hacked proves that fact that they aren't secure, therefore in this aspect, DEX have an upper hand. Furthermore am just getting to know about other DEX with even better volume which shows the future of Decentralized Exchanges are getting brighter each day.
Lastly, personal security is very important and should be taken with utmost care and seriousness.

My choicest DEX will always be Idex for obvious reasons. Not only is it one of the most active DEX, it has one of the largest volumes when it comes to Decentralized exchanges and seem to be a go to DEX for most projects looking for a premium DEX. Idex offers one of the most natural trade volumes and often free from the usual manipulations experience in other trading platforms. Users prefer it because of its universal acceptance and it has some of the most natural cryptocurrency traders.

It is strange that DEX are still lacking of enough volume while they are the best. May be all the CEX use fake volume? You can add the above list into the OP, that would be good. Anyway, good job.

There is already this notion surrounding the use of DEXes by traders and that is the mindset that they do not have enough volume to cater for their trades. On the contrary, I witnessed some trades of IDEX, which I am conversant with and I can say categorically well that, despite the small 24 hours volume, you can still trade conveniently with adequate volume that would take care of your buy and sell activities.
Actually, I am eagerly waiting for that tie that DECes would be more relevant than CEXes and that time will surely come. The maturity period is imminent.
