Title: What was your experience trading cryptocurrency?
Post by: Bright_dhykseen on May 25, 2020, 10:30:32 PM
Been trading for quite a while now and it took me time to get to where i am today coming from a noob in trading. Trading cryptocurrencies was one hell of an experience for me ;D.

The first cryptocurrency i traded back in late 2018 was bitcoin and i lost a whole lot of money trading it. I guess i didn't learn enough about the crypto market and the volatility involved before delving into it  :-\.

Ever since then, i picked another instrument of choice. I went into the FOREX trading. I plan on coming back into trading cryptocurencies but for now i'm still learning about the crypto market.  :D

It was a painful experience though  ;D

What was your experience ?

I remember when I started to trade cryprotocurrency which most of the wrong doing or bad practice in trading was I done, result was getting rekt.
But those bad practice makes me become better trade, I continue to learn after those experience and become better trade compare to before.

Like like nearly everyone in this space, I've got my portfolio burnt several time in the course of both investing and trading and aside that, the few tokens i earned from bounty hunting turned to shit due to the orientation of hodling i had while starting trading back then. It wasn't really a good experience to be honest

Trading a leveraged BTC is what I'm still learning about, because it can drive you holy nuts and even crack them a lot earlier when you see your entire capital reaching to 0 just because either you used cross leverage or just leveraged your entire capital into isolation but the leverage set by you is above 50x. It looks too good to be true when we just see our potential profits while setting our profit limit but it just eats our entire principal amount itself if the trade immediately goes into the wrong direction. I've learnt that patience is the key, as well as it's true that better late than never. So, it's better to earn small chunks of BTC rather than going for a straight bigshot move and lose everything.

I started trading bitcoin way back 2018 and ethereum at the same time on that year. Just like what beginners felt, everytime price drops I panicked. Which is kinda stressful because of that regrets I felt when I didn't sell those of my coins before the dump.

There are times that I sold my btc at lost because I m thinking it will go down and down. And experienced to be left hanged. But things change now and I learned so much in trading. Controlled emotions, chilling, determination and goal are one of the realizations and learnings I finally did.

Trading mistakes are exactly what yields growth int trading. Is there even a way you wouldnt get to lose in trading?
Losses in trading can be compared to the cost of running a business.
more knowledge comes alongside experience.

Agree! For sure those successful traders now are also experience such a huge loss for sure but they still remain and continue to learn. They also lost a more than our losses.
For me, trading is how you will gonna remain or how long you will be trading, you can't become a millionaire in just one night or a week.

I remembered my view on HODLING back then was to hodl to the moon.
I was looking for the next bitcoin  ;D

The huge losses from crypto hodling was what took me into trading. I really needed to know what and why price moved the way it did.
I was Hodling based on hope!  :(

The BTC market is very volatile. One needs to thread carefully.
I once traded BTC using a brokage platform and the spread there was so crazy, it was so hard even getting little profit. ???

What platform were you trading on? Bitmex?

It use to be an easy way to make money day trading in the last major bull run, I made alot with little knowledge because everything had an upward trend. now you have to be really good at it to scalp some profits, even at that, the  best TAs can cause you losses.

I know that feeling
We all thought "When Lambo?"  ;D

One needs to master the art of Technical Analysis before hopping into trading at all.
Also, Trading psychology is also one big aspect to take into consideration.

I'm happy you finally learnt!

If only i knew BTC would have gotten as high as 19k, would have kept on placing buy orders till margin call!  :'(

A lot of traders made a whole lot of money back in 2017/2018

It's great that you have discovered trading as a possible instrument for making money. It's what everybody wants to learn and make profits from. It's not impossible to learn it it's just that the emotions and consistency of your trading techniques should be balanced. The risk management acts as your protection against the possible loss of the whole capital and much more. It's not an overnight thing. I think we have all been there where we experienced a painful loss.

What I think traders could do is take advantage of the 24/7 market that we have and utilize it to trade continuously like using a bot like Gunbot (https://gunbot.ph).

Yeah, I agree many traders made a lot money by end of 2017 till early Jan 2018, but I was still a newbie that time and hodl my BTC thinking it will keep going further than 19K (which is a costly mistake and should have sold them immediately). Since then, I never hodl just learning from the sidelines and observe the trading trend.

Today, I no longer hodl, just scalp when the opportunity arised.  Still learning though from several telegram channels.

Lol i'm sure 80% of investors held onto their BTC investment as at that time.
The hype was all over the place.

Some even bought at 19k  ;D

That's what a cryptocurrency trading bot should do for you. You input what kind of strategy and what indicator you are going to use than the bot executes it. I think it's pretty straight forward what bots could do, it's the configuration is what would differ with every bot in the cryptocurrency market. If you are interested, you could pm me.

I trade price action. The only indicator i use is M.A's. The confluence for every trade vary; it is not just a specific rule the bot has to follow.
I dont think a bot can do that.

I assume you have skills in forex trading, so I guess that you will not have a problem to learn about crypto trading because I think the lesson of crypto trading is not too complicated than the forex trading. I guess the lesson is not difficult, and if you can search for more lesson, I think you will understand how to make crypto trade, and with the practice with some money, I think you can have a chance to make a profit. Don't force yourself to trade if the market is hard to analyze because that can make you get the loss with making a wrong analysis.

And those who have bought BTC @$19k have exited as early mid 2018 I supposed when the price really goes on a downward spiral, so they got burned. And I think your timing will be good if you are going to make a comeback. We still have a lot of legroom here, we're not yet in a bull run and chances are in the next two years the price of BTC will go up again.

You just have to be very focused, and I'm sure with your forex trading experience, you can simply transition to the crypto market fairly easy.

The knowledge gained from trading FOREX has really helped me a lot!

I'm just studying the crypto market for now and backtesting my strategy.

So you head forward to Forex yet you cant deal the crypto market? If I were to say that the whole concept is just really the same neither you are here on crypto world or in forex one because they do both involved buy and sell- they only differ on the volatility and regulation aspect but making money would really be hard.

Of course, none of us do start from being pro which we do start from being noobs.Thing here is that you do know on how to accept losses and learn from it and who do say that you can able to learn up everything? Life does give out learning on daily basis and so as with trading itself where you do continue to learn even you do think up to yourself that you already learned enough but that's not always the case.

The majority of us suffer a loss when entering crypto trading, Because we are still a newbie in trading we don't know everything yet, until now even I have several years of experience in crypto I still consider myself a newbie. There is no wrong or right prediction in trading, I guess it is really unpredictable sometimes, Green and Red markets happen we can't avoid it, But most of the traders that have knowledge about charts, indicators and stuff minimize those risk of losing If they are lucky they can maximize the market into their favor.

What was your experience ?

I first started trading in the crypto money markets in early 2015. At that time, the market was very sluggish and inactive, and making money was not so easy. Moreover, since there were not many investors, it was very easy for large investors to control the price. At that time, I would try to make money by buying and selling without any experience or technical or basic analysis knowledge. Of course, as I earned money, I lost a lot of money, but at that time I had the opportunity to gain more experience than the money I had earned. The events that have hurt me the most since the first day but have had a good experience for me are as follows;
- Never choose a single investment tool with all your capital.
- Never make a one-time purchase with all your money.
- Create a basket absolutely.
- Making transactions with debt money.
- Take care to use stop loss.
- Make sure technical analysis.
- Research the project before investing or buying.
- Using high leverage.

Even though there are many more that have come to my mind for now, I have had a lot of experience in crypto money markets since 2015.

I dont think a bot can do that.
There are a lot of possible things that you could do, and unlike other trading bots, you could customize with Gunbot, and you can even turn a request feature for your trading needs. There's a feature called AutoConfig that you could do multiple things with specific indicators etc.
  • Scan exchanges and automate the adding of pairs
  • Scan exchanges and remove pairs
  • Change strategies with specific pairs by a filter

And many more. You could set up your different configs when the MA crosses early or something with that regard. Gunbot is not just a trading tool that you would leave alone, and it could enhance your trading experience and work side by side if that's what you want.

I view switching markets due to losses will not help and moreover you must understand the core concepts and strategies for all the markets are same. It means you must stick within only one trading type and you must focus on sharpening your skills and abilities which will definitely guide you toward success. Without gaining knowledge on your trading abilities, switching markets will not get you any differences but will definitely maximize your losing occurrences.

I am sticking only with crypto trading even I am not good at technical analysis nor in over all profit making things. But, I am making good profits from cryptos by holding them for years. Some people do call this as a long term trading. Yes, my holding period exceeds years as I eye big targets like doubling my capital.

As a normal trader I have positive and negative experience by trading cryptocurrencies . My worst experience was when I invested some thousands of dollars in a altcoin and the team sold everything and ran away

There is no wrong or right prediction in trading. You go with the flow of the market and stay flexible!

I have had several experiences of this exact thing you mentioned :'(

Everything is risk based. If the altcoin you invested in performed well, it would have been another story.

We just need to accept the risk eventually

Wow! 2015!

As at 2015, i haven't heard about cryptocurrency then.

I can imagine how trading cryptocurrencies must have been back then; little volume.

  • The first point you mentioned is really paramount to me. I had a friend who always invest all in one basket but he was always lucky cos he always made his research well. I prefer diversifying.
  • Yes, One time purchase with all your capital is too risky.
  • I once traded with a borrowed money. Psychology did justice to me till i lost it all.
  • Researching projects took me a while to learn but all it does is just reduce the risk on the investment. It is never guaranteed that the project wouldn't flop!

I'm happy you've gained enough experience.

Everyone talks about the volatility in crypto trading but the question is "How many can handle it?"

You know, with crypto trading, at times you have to go outside your risk parameters.

For newbie trading is never meant for them. Initially for some time one has to understand what it is about and how to trade. Watch videos and read books. Do some demo and start with small amount which you can afford to lose it. Also investing initially would be better than directly trading it. But once you get those trading skills you can make good money in both side of the markets.

Left to me, i really believe forex trading can help master intra-day trading skills because with less volatility, and stable market movement, you get to learn the real-time application of your strategies and you see more of your trade setups occurring from time to time.

I'm happy you're sticking to crypto trading.

When it comes to experience then i do have lots, from mistakes to success.. It isnt an easy ride because on all the years ive been keeping on doing trade im still into that border line between profiting and losing but i know that i can pull it off one day where i can make constant or sustaining
profit which would free me from 8-5 day job.

Talking about experience, i did able to;

panic sell
believing bots can generate you money
believing on some so-called professional speculations and follow them
making easy money with the market

but all of these things are just part of the experience because committing mistakes will surely open your eyes into the reality and after
that you do alter up your own trading ways to be profitable and wont make the same mistakes again.

Mistakes are vital in the process of growth.
We grow by making mistakes.

I hope you learn from your mistakes though.

Everyday in the market is a lesson.

You will be fine if you spent your time after you leave trading crypto currency for trading in forex.

Because the whole of the strategy is mostly same, you can trade it back and compare how the profit that you get from them.

Actually, I have the same experience. For the first time I learn how to trade was trading forex so when I start trading crypto I have no significant obstacles to start, even I'm still trading in both places right now.

How do you feel right now? do you have a plan to trade in crypto currency back? If so, you may need a diligent and patient to stay because it will pay you.

I started trading cryptocurrency in 2016. There first crypto that I trade from my local money was of course bitcoin. I had this experience when I have no idea what am I doing in yobit, I just buy some coins using Bitcoin and just sell it immediately and only to find out that I lost money by switching my BTC to other coins and switching it back to Bitcoin a few seconds after. You see, back then I really had no idea what trading is all about but that's when learning comes in. I never stopped learning until now. Sooner or later you will be good in trading, you just need to practice and you have to read a LOT.

This is a major issue when people who traded in traditional market like stock market and forex makes when they see a huge volatility they sell off and wait for the market to stabilize but in cryptocurrency the market does move in both directions and if you are not used to the market then you would panic and take positions and then when the market returns back you already sold the coins at a loss.

Welcome to the wild west of trading  ;).

Main difference that you would definitely encounter when you switched up from forex to crypto. You will surely be shocked on how
prices move that will really easily eat your capital if you dont know on what you are doing and same goes on making profit
because if you did it well then money making wont really be that a problem and thats some reason why other forex traders
did eventually transfer to this market due to that volatility thing. Its surely a wild journey because this market cant really
be precisely predicted out neither on technicals or fundamentals.,

Well, my first experience trading cryptocurrency wasn’t really bad. Before I started to trade cryptocurrency, I have been into forex trading and I did with my friend. And it was this my friend that introduced me to cryptocurrency trading. Before doing that, he already took his time to learn about cryptocurrency and the day trading of a thing. So, when he told me about it he already started trading.

Moreover my first day I was there with him and I made my first trade with his direction and it worked out. After that, I started to make regular trades, and some of them were a win and some were not. Kept doing it till I got good in it. My story is definitely not an inspiring one for many people here but for me it is like big achievement of my life time because trading supporting me to lead a life out of the consistent profits from my own trades.

It's psychologically unstable. I traded exactly as the indicators signaled and when the price went up a bit I took profits, but when I was at a loss I wanted to maintain that loss for a while and hope not to lose. but I was wrong and it cost me more than $ 1k in the crypto market. I then realized that as long as the market went against our trading direction, we had to accept a stop loss. so my experience is NEVER HOPE!

My experience has been as bad as yours . I started trading in 2019 and since then, whenever I make huge profit, I loss more later. I think Ive been too greedy all the way. The truth is that you need to always be carful of what you do and have a specific daily target which is not suppose to be too much. Being too greedy and setting higher leverage leads to loss and  do not risk bigger leverage at any time.
Now, I've been following some trading analysis and I think they are working out good for me for now.

The stop loss is there for a reason; Just let it perform its duty!

I also made this mistake in the past. Sometimes now, i watch the market move closer and closer to my stoploss and even hit me out; Why this? I accepted the risk!

Since you enters into the crypto market at bearish trend then its hard for you to make any profits so you have to enter back again at the right time. Now seems a good time but we still not find any movement on prices after halving so enter with less capital and lets see how much you can make with that.

One of my experiences in crypto trading is full of ups and downs because most of the time the volatile becomes my enemy and friend. When I start into the world of trading I make some study on my own understand the market graph how to use the market graph and what are the possible movements of this graphs also with help of the trading indicators it is easier to me to identify what are the possible next market movement of a coin.

Sometimes I win my trading because having a good market open or position and taking time to make a new movement to buy long or sell short I'm just a trader who makes one or two transactions per day and not being a scalper which is riskier for me. Most of the time I loss too because it is part of the trading but the end one thing we need to have is the profit for every trades.

In bearish trend the chances are less for traders other than who involved in intra day trading, best ever time for trading is sideways not the bearish or bullish but when someone literally begins their crypto trading the bullish trend is the best way to get involved into it.

Are you being serious now?

The market is either uptrending, downtrending or in consolidation.

You can trade any of these market conditions and make money. That's why we have buy and sell button. No trend is the "best" trend.

But if you're investing though, the only way to make profit is when the market is bullish. This marks the difference between trading and investing.

My first ever one was a bit too overkill to begin with that I had to calm myself down into something smaller and something more stable instead. I personally studied as much as I can about TA's about the price actions, about all indicators and basically all around studied everything I can to find out what I can do and profit from, instead of that I realized I should have just used it for store of value.

After studying all that much and working so hard to become a good trader, I got into trading and I am not going to lie I profited more than I lost but most of the time it didn't meant that it worth it all, I have made so little amount of money that, one month I made 1.7 dollar profit total out of 700 dollar investment, so I realized it doesn't worth it and stopped and just invest nowadays.

ta didn't work?

we all have different experience in trading. i don'tthink i can ever win back the money i've lost unless the bullrun goes way high up to 1M.

i don't trade every day these days, i only look the charts and only every time the market trends are changing but stick to a daily chart.  since 2018 I started shifting to DEX to move out from the mandatory KYC of exchanges.  i still do trade but only on dex and spending only about $500 as capital.  iIts the only that might work for me until the dex mature enough.

Trading for me has been a bittersweet experience lol. But I would say it’s more of a sweet experience now that I’m quite good at it and the losses I make are little. At some time I decided to give up on trading because it was starting to seem to me like it was a gambling, since I was still new and I was losing regularly with every trade I make.

It wasn’t easy and I had to keep trying and giving my best. I didn’t have much then , but I still kept trying with the little money I could afford. Kept doing it and now here I am. I like to suggest all newbie traders to try hard at the same time with least capital. Trying hard does not mean you may risk more but it means you must try more different strategies. Strategies are your actual plans and without plan we cannot be successful nowhere.

It has been an experience not imagined. Trading has not been a fair adventure. It is more difficult than hodling and no wonder majority prefer hodling. Still learning the ropes as they talk, hoping for good experience with the time coming. So much loss try to discourage but you keep trying to be better for it.

When trading on the Crypto market, I often pay attention to the long or short data on the big exchange and then it will be the signal of the whales. To identify trends in the short term, we can use that data and it's quite effective. means we will look at the Long and Short ratio at Bitmex, then see which higher is the opposite of it. because most margin exchanges now rely on the ratio to kill Long or Short. My strategy can be applied in M15 or H1 candles, you can refer and try it in Demo account.

Before I made into the world of trading I need to take some readings and a lot of style and techniques came from the internet also with the help of our forum bitcoin talk which is more active about the different experiences of their users. Also one of the most memorable things I've got into the world of trading is the use of cryptocurrency because it is easier for me to use this kind of coins because it is easier to trade and the market is volatile.

One of the most memorable things I start into the world of trading is the first trade because I wage for over ten dollars and I won my first trade that is one of the most memorable things I've had on my life also on the upcoming next trade is good but one time because of getting greedy it cause a lot of damage I take for a buy long and wait to the market to pump again and now by that mistake it is a short the market price falls down and the liquidity gets all of my hard works for a long time. As we say if you want to deep dive into the world of trading make sure you are ready enough that your funds will be done having a wrong decision.

When trading on the Crypto market, I often pay attention to the long or short data on the big exchange and then it will be the signal of the whales. One of the best things also we can do while we are in trading is always updated about the market price of the coin what are the latest news and articles about this and use with the proper trading indicators those are the simple things we usually forget

I fall sort of into the same pitch as this guy. My cryptocurrency experience hasn't always been great mainly because at time I found myself too slow to react to the market changes and if anything I tend to hesitate selling especially during times of market dumps. Though overall I must say that it still is a learning experience for me as with every trade I make the more knowledge I obtain and that will one day for sure come in handy.

I've had my days of losses and gains but its all a waiting game and if you're too slow to react you'll sure be missing out one way or another - at least this is what my top learning tip is anyway.

Crypto currency are not suitable for trading. They can drop without any notice. Signals aren't work properly most of the time. Well "Dent" was my first crypto treading. I made 3x of my main balance. It wan an interesting expriance
We do have different experiences with crypto trading, and I'm sure that most of here in this forum who is trading will agree that trading crypto isn't that bad. I think you are liquidated to fast before you can react to your trades. Always remember that crypto is a very volatile asset if you compare it to stock and forex trading.

Try finding your forte on trading, Not everyone can surf the fast-paced trading experience on crypto.

Fast-paced or slow paced, all would vary on a certain trader and as said not all would really have the same capability on how they do deal up with the market.
Mistakes are inevitable thats why we should keep learning from it so that on next time we are already aware on what we should gonna do.
We might differ on some aspect but generally all of us do have the same experience in talks of hardship and challenges specially into this very volatile
world of crypto.

Before trading it is always necessary to have a proper strategy and a specific market analysis to know what is happening. I always learn a lot from my predecessors and have made a lot of money from their advice. For me, without the knowledge, it would be very difficult for investors to exist in this market so you should spend time before choosing to trade in this market.

It has been an experience not imagined. Trading has not been a fair adventure. It is more difficult than hodling and no wonder majority prefer hodling. Still learning the ropes as they talk, hoping for good experience with the time coming. So much loss try to discourage but you keep trying to be better for it.
very difficult to avoid failure in trading. if we cannot control our intellect, then the pay is purity. however, many try to trade, and after losing, they will not come back anytime soon. I have felt this, but in the end, I returned to trading after studying chart movements.

Trading involves a lot of trial and error. Even if you are taught by the best trader in the world, you still need to experience it on your own, one way or the other.
A trading plan is quite important too.

It has been an experience not imagined. Trading has not been a fair adventure. It is more difficult than hodling and no wonder majority prefer hodling. Still learning the ropes as they talk, hoping for good experience with the time coming. So much loss try to discourage but you keep trying to be better for it.

Definitely, HODLING is not meant to be difficult.
Trading is difficult because you can make a fortune off it if you can master it,

I've had my days of losses and gains but its all a waiting game and if you're too slow to react you'll sure be missing out one way or another - at least this is what my top learning tip is anyway.

No trader can escape FOMO  ;D

Crypto currency are not suitable for trading. They can drop without any notice. Signals aren't work properly most of the time. Well "Dent" was my first crypto treading. I made 3x of my main balance. It wan an interesting expriance

Oh, man! I made some crazy money from Dent

My experienced in crypto trading was I don't know how much money does this opportunity in crypto gave me.
All was started only in the bounty campaign in which is ICO campaign, from there every time they paid me on my work
to their campaign, I learned how to trade by simply selling every time the token will be listed in the platform exchange
where up to now I remain doing trade in bitcoin or crypto as well.

Forex trading is something I did in the past and I don't know if I'm still going back to that. After forex trading I discovered options trading platforms such as the Expert option and IqOption. I tried them out as well, but it wasn't really working the way I expected it. Honestly I am not seeing anyone is making consistent profits from forex trading nor from options trading; as far as I have seen all of them making only losses on regular basis.

As for cryptocurrency, I started as an investor and I was investing long term and it was working out for me. But, when I decided to go for day trading, it wasn't really what I was expecting. Though I have taken my time during this quarantine and lockdown to learn more about it and I believe I'm getting perfect in it.

One particular advantage that makes me fav cryptocurrency trading over forex is the fact I can result to holding my coins in scenarios when I missnterpreted the market and had wrongly placed prediction but that's not the case in forex trading although while you can exit the market when trading forex and make profit while the market is falling that can't be said about cryptocurrency trading.

Therefore both have their advantages and disadvantage. Bitcoin was also the first cryptocurrency I traded although it isn't my most traded coin. My experience so far has been positive although I have surffered some losses that were quite painful to the extent they almost discourage me from the industry entirely but thankfully I had hope them because some airdrop I participants in give me some profit to keep my spirit moving.

In trading, you always have to be careful and need to add new knowledge to make the most profit in this market. You may not always be able to make a profit as the crypto market is so volatile and even a small mistake can cost you money quickly. In the past, I lost more than 80% of my assets from trading, and that was the time when I was most depressed because I didn't know what to do next. However, now things have gotten better, and I have regained the money I lost in the past.

I experienced something unpleasant...
I am a former broker, I decided to quit because I felt I already had enough knowledge from there, the first time I bought Bitcoin around 2017, I bought a few hundred dollars from my last salary, then traded confidently, I thought Bitcoin trading was no different from forex and stock trading but I was wrong, I lost 70% of my assets and then decided to cut loss. :D

The crypto market is completely different from the ones you already know because this is the only place that changes very quickly if there is new news coming out and very easy to manipulate.

There is always a specific strategy in trading, and you must set a stop-loss price after buying to ensure your profit. New investors will usually skip this step, but I think if you don't do this, you will lose your money very quickly.

I am from 2017 in cryptocurrencies market. This market has lots of big fluctuations where anybody can get a big loss or big profit. Traders earned money in 2017 might be in loss in 2018.
Same happend with me as well. I think in this world on daily basis lots of cryptocurrencies being created and coming in the market so it will always going to be very risky. I have not earned too much money form this crypto tradin. But with fluctuations you can also earned money from this cryptocurrencies trading.

Same as me! I joined the market since 2017 and have seen a lot of changes in this cryptocurrency market. My experience is that despite the market is growing or suffering, a trader always has a chance to earn profits. All you need to do is to equip yourself with a lot of knowledge, understand techniques, and learn analyzing skills. By having that, you'll know enough to judge any situations by yourself, reduce the risks, and increase the chance of earning profit in this market.

That's what everyone from the other trading platforms thought so.
Bitcoin's very high volatility makes it more riskier than trading in forex, because you can loss everything in a few trades, as well as earn much more profit than any other trading platform. But the knowledge and expertise will be acquired for quite a long time.
I had a friend who thought the same as you and tried crypto trading. In a span of 3 months, unnoticeably he had lost a thousand dollars, then decided to quit lol.

I saw Forex trading through advertisements while I'm watching youtube, that's the time where I get interested on using it in trading. I seek information about it, I learned a lot, I understand how it works and that's the time I always invest all of my money in trading. As I trade, I realized that I need to find and explore other trading platforms, and Expert Option is somehow good enough. They are both a good trading platform but I still prefer to use Forex because I'm used to it for so many years. I'm confident and comfortable in that platform that's why I still use it until now and I don't see any problem with that. The result of your trading really depends on your skills and strategy and not on the platform that you are using in trading.

When talking about the cryptocurrency trading experience, I have gone through a lot, especially I also had a bad experience
in 2018. I then bought several altcoins at the end of 2017, which was when almost all of the altcoins reached all time high prices.
And I sold it in 2018 where the price of altcoins dropped by 50%, when I was selling out of panic. It was an unforgettable trading
experience for me.

When we start trading we all have this bad experiences at first because some of us entered the world of trading without any idea, some of needs a job that's why they took this opportunity on trading here just to earn money and many of us was recruited by a friend or someone. It is normal at first when we encounter struggles at first most especially if we are a newbie without any idea on trading. As the time passes by, eventually we will all learn how to trade professionally that's why we should never quite and put more hard work on trading to gain success.

I can imagine seeing double-digit market gains during my first trade last 2017. I can't forget that year and 2017 are really profitable which makes people jump into here but that was of short stay because after the Bullish season it turns into a tragic surprise of a declining market where most traders and investors are in big losses. And that is also a cause of why I stop in trading for a while. Then I realize that trading is not always in good times, there is also a time where we have to struggle losses and felt hard in making money. The 2 years in bearish season is a big struggle for very traders and that makes many had also quit and I am one of them.

If only we could all trade like robots and get rid of emotions  :'(
That's what a cryptocurrency trading bot should do for you.

Price Action is the major key to a successful trading I quite agreed with your idea of using Price Action personally I  studied candlestick patterns eg morning star, hammer or pin bar, engulfing bar etc with just 25 EMA for checking the direction of the trend in forex trading while avoiding lot of colorful lagging indicators which are distractions.
Cryptos trading is quite tasking and very volatile as far as the price movement is consign thus if not carefully practice well before going full time is very  risky and can rekt an account within the shortest period of time.

I still remember the early days and it was so hard. I still didn't had the local exchange and it got created probably 3-4 years after I started crypto so it was very difficult for me to buy bitcoin with fiat for years. I however took that as a sign to maybe not buy but use it as currency and work to earn it. After all I do not "buy fiat" , which is a thing if you are a forex trader but most of the time you do not "buy fiat" in regular life.

So, I told myself since there is no easy way, maybe I should focus on thinking like bitcoin was fiat. After however it was created, I started to trade crypto like crazy and it allowed me to make a decent amount of profit for a while, then lose a lot, then earn again basically all around a cycle. Its a fun cycle that has been going on even today, it is really exciting.

TBH, it wasn't really a perfect day all the time. Maybe it is quite normal to experience bloodbath sometimes the same as what it happens to the others.
But ain't make me think all in negative and even drop my trust to myself.

One thing I've found out when you are in trading,
BE FOCUS on your trading...something that I missed in the past days that brings me into a sad end but it serves as learnings to me in returns. It has something we need to take action in order to help it out from the recurrence of the same mistake.

The first days of my trading ended up with a lot of mistakes which made me a loser that time. But i never blame myself because trading wasn't that easy especially that i'm still a newbie. But from those mistakes i have gained, it made me challenge to trade again with more confidence and to regain my previous losses. Although i can say that i'm not that profitable in trading, but i learned how to minimize my losses and focus on maximizing profits.

I have a bad experience too as a trader when I was just starting. I thought its easy and though I dont have enough knowledge on what to do in actual trade, I decided to try it already but unfortunately I lose that capital, good thing its a small amount. As time goes by I learned many things but losing is inevitable no matter how good you are and I think its part of being a trader. It has a good sides and that is learning from that experience and never repeat the same mistakes the next time you trade.

While I use a little money to trade, I build my confidence that I can trade with better than before because I already learn many things about trading. And gladly, right now I can make a profit although I realize that the profit is not as bigger as the others.

Reading all the replies and comment in this thread, it gives me realization how trading it works. The risk is really high and I believe that not all who have the hard try in trading will succeed. It is to see that even how good you in trading but can't disclose any chances to suffer losses someday. Now, I understand that there is no easy way to become a pro trader nor to see an instant return. But then, if we think ourselves that are capable of doing this, we have to stick to until we got it to reach.

Watch the price! You can open any chart for bitcoin and take a look at the price movement for the last month, year, all... you can find some patterns, you can find some middle price and sell over that price and buy under that price for certain time.
I learned everything by myself, I looked what others do, check some signal here and there, compare that with others, and the beauty is that if you miss a trade with bitcoins just move them on a side (you can't do this will all coins) and wait for price to recover, that always happens!
My trading experience is full of ups and downs, and in the beginning it was more downs than ups, but if you are persistent, if you like to learn you can become better with more experience, with more practice.

Mistakes makes you better, without learning how to be good you can't become good without making mistakes and learning from there, hence why you should even make mistakes and that is promoted since that would allow you to get better. However, there are people who say too many good things about making mistakes like it is amazing even after a while, it is not, if you are making mistakes after a year, two years, even five years later that means you are not doing that well and maybe you should stop.

I mean not small mistakes rare in between, I am talking about someone who still makes a ton of mistakes. You gotta learn and start to make less and less and less losses after a while if you are not getting any better you have to try to see why you are not that good after a while.

I remembered the for the time when I did trading, it happens when I was a beginner in cryptocurrency, I have watched so many videos about trading before so I became interested in I because while watching it seems so easy to earn money, from $100 capital then he earns 10x from it, which is equivalent to $1000, that is really bit, how can we easily earn that kind of money? That is really easy in reading while watching on YouTube but upon trying it on Binance, at first I was so happy because I already earned for about $50 but I became not contender on that because of thinking that I could earn more money, but in the end, I lost it all including my capital. I realized that trading is not really easy, it requires skills and knowledge so you would have the advantage of winning it.

Started in 2017 for full-time trading, I felt like at that time was the best time for you to actually getting started into cryptocurrency because of how great the impact of the price to your trading portfolio. I've made lot of profit at 2017 because most of the coins were pumped up until 200% in just a day.

Well, things are different now. It's really difficult to actually find a great stuff in 2020 :/ Especially with those shit scammer coins.

Speaking of my experience when it comes to trading, to be frank there have been many UPs and Downs in my trading career.
When I was new in trading I didn't knew anything about the market at all and also didn't know anything about charting and technical analysis. Also in start there were many lucky breaks and many downfalls which were worse than those lucky breaks and many a times I had to start over because of my huge losses. But now with consistency and hard-work I have actually started making profit on a regular basis.

Your mention of Forex Trading drew my attention and subsequent response. Forex Trading (as the name implies) is also trading, though currency pairs and other commodities. You lose and profit the same way you do with crypto trading. Technically, crypto trading is even safer than FX because you don't get to lose until you sell off your tokens. But in FX, once you trigger a trade you're either in loss or profit. The best you come out with is BE (Break Even). My advice to you is to be careful. If crypto trading scared you away, FX can do worse to your finances.

I have had a very good experience these past few months, I am currently quite actively trading Bitcoin on one of the IQ Option sites, before, I used to trade with brokerage methods starting with Forex and Binance, However, at the moment IQ Option has a pleasant experience for me, which I really enjoy from Bitcoin trading in EUR / USD currencies, this is a good intervention with a foreign party, but for that I need to monitor every economic calendar day of a certain country.

All I have to do is adjust the news released, if not I can stop loss, the price move in the IQ Option is purely based on day trader activity, This is my current experience that I am doing, from trading at Binace & Forex, of course there are also bittersweet and sweetness.

Yeah, that is right.
We have to consider that past bad experience is just a sort of learning. Keeping positive in our minds will lead into a better future. We all have suffered such thing but we are coming back and overcome the fears of losing again as we know ourselves that we have the capability and we can make the things right. We are here because we know already the risk, we might fall yesterday and it can probably be happening again but it can be avoided if we anticipate.

We all are learning from the past and we come back stronger wearing with a positivity/proactive mindset. Things will get fixed in time.

Well, I like this thought.
Sometimes mistakes make us become perfect, we should treasure those mistakes that we won't let happen again in the future.
Perhaps trading is a sort of trial and error but makes it sure that every error you had you will learn on it and you can avoid your next trading. However, my trading experienced is not bad for me because I gained too much on it. My advice is focused on trading and prepare your different analysis before taking action to it.
Indeed, trading is not an easy job, you will experience losses first before you will become success.

That is what most of us experienced when we are just started and some have learned but some continues to make mistakes until now.

actually i had stopped trading because for me i would rather risk my money in Holding than trading.

also i have work in real life so i don't need to spend time in money in trading .
And when you start your trading experience you will have to face high risk in life but with time passage you will learn more about trading ask also did mistakes but I did not stop trading ever because I know I can either win or lose but I will have to keep trying to get profit. If you will lose hope and stop trading you can never learn to be a good trader.

I agree with you that there is a risk in trading and we should not lose hope The one who persists even after losing can be successful Trading is as easy as it is difficult Before that we have to follow the trading rules. It is possible to reduce the risk if we can understand the difference in the price of the currency by analyzing the market well I also lost a lot but did not give up the trade At first everyone's experience is bad.

When i try to trade ,it's just fun because i don't understand first ,that's why i'm always lost than having a profit. But i never stop until now,i learn it so that i can earn profit and avoid loses. Aside to bitcoin,I also trade some litecoin, dogecoin and ethereum but it was all mistake. I've lost all my coins and start over. But now i can handle my trading and that was because of my past experienced.

I can't forget the day I made 15% in probably 10 minutes, I talk about it everywhere all the time. I know there must be some person who has made more money in shorter time, or if you look at the total gained, it is only 15% and it is not really a big deal, we make 15% plenty of times, I made 15% after that and before that as well, so it is not really a big profit neither.

But the fact that it was in 5-10 minutes is what made it so much better. One day I was looking at etc (back in 2017 peak days) and I saw that it got stuck while all other coins started to go up, looking at the charts everything is green but ETC was just staying still, so I said ETC will probably get some attention very soon to reach the others as well, so I bought it, around 700 dollars or so, not a big amount. And literally just 10 minutes later it started to go off like crazy :D. I got scared and got out after I profited 15% but it went up a bit more after that.

I had the same beginning too.

I think you shouldn't let your experience keep you close-minded to forex and options trading. There are lots of profitable forex traders out there.

In trading, you always have to be careful and need to add new knowledge to make the most profit in this market.

New "relevant" knowledge

Got bad experience with lost almost than getting profit in trading experience, but I will try again until how to know best time to trade and get much profit, many people try how to manage risk of trading way and always get positive side from trading and become their source income in daily day. I will keep continue going on for trading and never give up until how to be success from trading and investing with bitcoin or altcoin, I hope could help the other how to manage trading risk at the future.

I love your spirit!

Just the perfect answer I have been looking for.

This remains one big lesson. Everyone needs to face their trading. Your success in trading depends on you.

The road becomes easy with time and experience. By then, you will know what you need and things to discard from your trading.

I am doing better with FX now.  :)

Preparing to dive into Crypto trading.

I can't forget the day I made 15% in probably 10 minutes, I talk about it everywhere all the time. I'm happy you got out. You might have had some self-sabotaging beliefs there  :D

Well, things are different now. It's really difficult to actually find a great stuff in 2020 :/ Especially with those shit scammer coins.

I'm thinking fake projects and scam are the challenges for this time. Back the time such project had value and most of the projects are in cmc in top form. If developers can be sincere to what they are bringing out, I think 2017 can keep repeating itself.

More the reason why as an investor, you have to do your homework in scouting for projects you think are good enough.

P.S: No amount of research will give a project full credibility/trust. Everything is a risk.

My first experienced in crypto trading is really difficult and a lot of ???? in my mind on how to gain. I trade some dogecoins and litcoin first because it was not so valuable and just have experience on how to trade but i lost all my coins. I start over with small amount of bitcoin and little by little i learned how to trade properly and get small profit from it. Experienced is the best learning method i used in order to continue do trading until now.

The first experience I had wasn't with trading, it was with holding Bitcoin. I was still a newbie then and I never really understood Bitcoin and I didn't know anything about the volatile aspect of it. How I got to know about Bitcoin was when I was searching for a means to receive money from abroad from someone and I stumbled on Bitcoin. At first I thought that Bitcoin was another form of PayPal and the rest of them. Then I installed my first Bitcoin wallet which was Xapo and I was able to receive my money.

But, after some days the amount I had in my wallet reduced and I had to contact support to know what's happening. That's when they explained to me and I had to go back and do more research to understand. And as for trading, there is nothing much apart from the trading losses I see as regular, which I can still cover up after a few good trades.

I used to trade with a lot of loss, around $ 500, my mistake was I put all my assets in one coin, when the coin I traded dumped, then all my assets dropped up to 70%, after that I met a mentor who was willing to teach me about trading, until now I always hear his opinions or suggestions.

The experience of the first time was of course about the loss and all of it about losing the first time trading and indeed, I am not a big trader who has a lot of money to spend because even in the past my salary was only $150 - $200 before finally my salary gradually increased. I have lost a lot in trading on the cryptocurrency market because of the ignorance and panic that I experienced when prices went down.

I personally think that each of us have our own ways of dealing with crypto, and even though there are tons of people who use crypto for many other reasons than just trading, there is also at least that much people who trade differently from each other. We should stop with how we traded or how we should have done differently and all that talks and focus on how we learned from what we did and how we could get better together if we share our troublesome past.

Regardless of you are successful with your trading or not, we must focus on learning new things about cryptos which will definitely guide us to achieve our dreams. But most people do worry about the past and that usually ending up in messing the current opportunities. Just forgetting the past experience will definitely work in productive way in trading.
