Announcing Kialara Messengers, a special collaboration with world-renowned artist Ricky Allman. Allman’s vivid futuristic dreamscape paintings have been featured in The Los Angeles Times, Vice, Harpers, Harvard Business Review, La Nación (Paraguay) and The Independent (UK).

For Messengers, Allman has created a series of paintings that act, in his words, as “self-portraits, aspirational portraits, psychological portraits and portraits of fear.” He continues: “Many of my portraits exhibit a sense of stress or anxiety, reflecting the current mood of our country and throughout the world. A combination of thrill and excitement for the future and a deep dread about the horrors of our present being magnified rather than pacified by technology. Climate change, authoritarian state-sanctioned violence and poverty and total surveillance collide with self-replicating architecture, a global network, record-long lifespans and the eventual cyborgization of humanity. We are accelerating ever quicker into an increasingly chaotic future, and I’m attempting to embody all of that into the more recognizable form of a human face.”

Allman’s original paintings are incorporated into an innovative new multi-part assembly of precision-machined SUS304 stainless steel, permanently bonded at each layer with J-B weld two-part formula, and meticulously constructed with a proprietary combination of thoughtful security and design features.

The auction will end at the time stated above unless there is a bid placed in the final 5 minutes of the auction. If a bid is placed within the final 5 minutes of the auction, the new auction end time will be 5 minutes after the last bid. (i.e. if a bid is placed at 12:57pm, the new auction end time is 1:02pm) The auction end time will then extend 5 minutes ad infinitum until no new, valid bid has been placed for 5 minutes.

I may exclude bidders, or require a deposit for any bidders at my discretion. If you are a new account but a previous customer of mine, please PM prior to bidding to introduce yourself.

Forum downtime:  If the forum goes offline in the final 4 hours of the auction I may extend or relist the auction.

I don’t require funding for any of my work, however, for these I’m seeking buyers who are interested in funding their messenger, thus completing the piece, and eventually the overall concept. Every buyer thus far has been on board with this and more than half are now funded. This is a one-time thing b/c I didn’t think the concept is as cool if the messengers aren’t each carrying their message.  Please feel free to PM me to help clarify anything else.

I have a question, it seems there may be a grease-like spot on the reverse. It is more evident in the black light photo, but you can also see it a bit lower in the regular lighting. Since it is in a slightly different area for each pic, is this a spot on the camera lens itself?
