Title: [GAME] Bitcointalk game
Post by: Peanutswar on May 29, 2020, 08:24:17 AM
Recently I made a game that is called a Bitcointalk game (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5248888.msg54442064#msg54442064) with the use of Visual Studio and C++ Programming language but the problem is the user needs to download the project file first, all the feedback I get on the thread I used to make a motivation to come up and create a website for this game. . Now again I would like to introduce you the Bitcointalk game.

What is the content of the game?
It is all about the basic information about our forum.

Instruction :
  • The game consist of ten (10) questions
  • You only have four (4) choices on each question with one correct answer
  • You only have one chance to answer the question
  • Click the next button to direct to the next question
  • You cannot go back to the previous question if you clicked next
  • Choose an answer before clicking next or else you don't get any points

For now, the game does not have the capability to become a responsive page and adopt to mobile view.
For phone users, I highly recommended using your desktop view.

Game link: https://sleepy-goldwasser-169295.netlify.app

Preview on the game
Landing page

Question page

End page

An additional feature I add to the same image of the bitcoin talk forum tab image on the game. Disclaimer, I do not own the logo just for entertainment.

Ps. I'm new at web design so I created the game with the help of online platforms and tutorials.

I went through the game. It is pretty smooth in running however I have few questions and adoption to this.

Questions:

1. I know its just a game but have you thought of collecting the data from this game?

This can actually help some way other to fetch pool of data and upvotes on specific concerns that are around the forum. I know we can just add vote question in the forum itself but this could be more descriptive and as many question as we want can be asked.

2. Can you develop a code where user can input their name at the start so that at the end we can see how many of them answered.

Basically this one would be helpful when the first question is solved and made into effect.

3. Have you thought of using it for debate purposes that always go on in the trust sections.

This could be fun watching. You can also add question where one can submit descriptive answer. Just imagine prosecutors and scammers info going public on your Watch Page at the end.  :P

Adoptions:

1. You can make that 10/X as X/10 so that we can understand at what question we are.

2. There is no back button as well as I can easily go to next question without answering the current. It must be free to play around but should have little huddles to move ahead so that you can get some answer to each question.

3. Besides choosing all the true answers you can also put some mind blowing facts about the forum so that new people can learn.

*Also it ended very quickly. It should be long and fun to play around.

Very nice to see it around. Keep up the good work mate.  Hopefully you will get more suggestions and applauds as everyone sees it.

Nice one OP, the good thing about it is that it is about informative games, you are not only entertained you also learned something from it.

I have tried the game and this is the result: https://i.imgur.com/bGhzuhh.jpg

I just want to appreciate some features of the game:
1. The game is really friendly - user because it is not that hard to play and understand how we are going to use it,
2. The GUI is so great as well, the combination of color is not that intimidating.
3. One thing that I want is I hope that we could see the right answer once we had chosen the wrong one.
But anyway, great job OP :D

Overall it was great, everything is running smoothly but it doesn't show the right answer when you pick the wrong answer.

I think it is more like a quiz or survey since after answering the 10 questions it's already ended if you could have it to something like a quiz game like it has levels in it, I think it would be more fun but it was still great  :).

But, I think you should revise the question 9 "What is the longest running campaign?" Because the answer is 777Coin (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=840124.0), it's start from October 30, 2014 while Chipmixer (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1935179.0) start from May 26, 2017
I answered that one too and I thought I was correct. I don't know who's really the longest-running campaign since both of them are not within my years being involved here in the forum. Out of merit, you deserve a full member status it will be imminent later on. Great job by the way about the game.

Any chance we can review the code like on Github and I think it will be great if someone will make some commits on it too for improvements?

Its good but the questions are too easy. it would be nice to add a level difficulty where harder questions will be asked to test the member's overall forum knowledge and the rankings of the highest scorers will be displayed.
I am looking forward to future updates!

<...>

I'm glad you enjoy the game.

1. I know its just a game but have you thought of collecting the data from this game?

I just made a static website there is no database included.

2. Can you develop a code where user can input their name at the start so that at the end we can see how many of them answered.

I'll try to make an improvement so you can enjoy the game.

1. You can make that 10/X as X/10 so that we can understand at what question we are.

2. There is no back button as well as I can easily go to the next question without answering the current. It must be free to play around but should have little huddles to move ahead so that you can get some answer to each question.

Thank you for feedback I will make an update immediately.

Its good but the questions are too easy. it would be nice to add a level difficulty where harder questions will be asked to test the member's overall forum knowledge and the rankings of the highest scorers will be displayed.

I will add additional questions and difficulty round but it takes time because I'm new into the world of web development.

It's great dude!

Sorry for the mistake I will change it immediately.

Great work, man. I tried it and I got 9 out of 10, I missed one  :'(.

Anyway, I suggest to divide your questions depending on user's preferences. Like if user wishes to answer question about trading then he'll be directed to set of questions about it or if the user prefers to answer more about the techinicalities then he'll be having set of questions about it and then add some evaluation in the end if he's good, excellent and so on depending on his total score. And then give some recommendations on what the user needs to do in order to improve. One more thing, can you add some levels like easy, hard... And lastly, add some trivias in between the game, even a small and simple text would do.

I love your work and I like the UI it matches the SMF, thank you for this little entertainment game of yours  ;).

Funny idea! Thanks for that... Are there any expansions planned? :)
I took the liberty of translating this version of the thread. You can find it here in german:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5251852.0

It is definitely a good option if everything is online and no local data is necessary.
And it's nice to see if users are suspicious of such things because you can't be too careful.

It’s an ok starting point, and it shows some resilience to comments on your first game attempt. I like the reshuffle of options on the questions you've created ...:

https://i.imgur.com/8UNgVkv.png

Note: Actually, that could be a thing: reshuffle the wrong 3 options from within a larger list, so that the content is not static from one round to another. For example, think of 10 possible wrong answers, and randomly choose 3 of them (of course placement could also be random, which makes it a wee bit more difficult to track the correct answer).

Your mini-game is really cool! That will help newbies to really know what forum really is. Nice innovation OP! You've done well! I have just out of my smerit right now.

Anyway, I suggest you to make atleast, easy, moderate and hard questions. So that, we can measure what we really know in this forum already.

Hope you make it more cool in your further updates.

I gotta say Ive enjoyed the game. Some questions are interesting but some like what other's noticed have some wrong answer like the longest campaign, actually I answered Chipmixer but when I browse some comments then i checked it should be the 777coin.

Beginners luck! :D actually I wanted more it will test our knowledge on what we know on forum. I assume you will add more questions. Probably many will volunteer to help and contribute with this.

I often noticed you on our Local boards and I must say your a good poster. Seen some of your posts there, keep it up mate. Were all looking forward for more update of this game you created.

There is a room for many more questions.
Put the rules there and see how bad are many Legendaries that haven't read them yet.
Like:
- How many tempbans you can get before you are banned?
- What can happen if you post a copied a text without citing the source?
- Up to how many bumps you can have on a single thread for a week?
- What is the penalty for post bursting?
- To which rank the Copper Memphis corresponds to?
- What is the cool down time between two search attempts when you are Full Member?
I can just go on and on...

Great game. Scored 10/9 in first try.

1. Don't you think of changing places score and number of questions ? Simply "Score 10/7" is a bit misleading. I understand it as 10 out of 7...
2. Is it hard to randomize question order? So far their sequence doesn't change. Think about that in next patch :) Randomizing correct answer position would be also great. Because people can simply memorize answers and pick correct without even reading the question.
3. Since there are only 10 questions and I hope this wasn't hard to "code" this game, maybe we can throw you few questions and 4 variants of answers?

Good games, when everyone can learn about the forum itself. I have a few suggestions for the games when we already answer the question could you make it the game automatically go to the next question without clicked "Next" Button.

I believe the game could add more content, not just about bitcointalk and the forum but also a learning game for bitcoin. When the topic like, technology bitcoin (blockchain), private key, wallets and etc.

And before the player playing the games, give them some resource so they can learn before the games are started.

Just playing your game 10/7 scored.

Your game has detected Emsisoft as Phishing and Netcraft as Malicious, I am not sure about this, maybe those are false positive.

Just finished the game. It is good for newbies, this should be improved by adding more questions related to forum and bitcoin.

Im sure this will help them understand little bit about forum. Like question where trading and business related conducted. At least they will know where section to post.

Congrats OP with thia achievement. + 1 merit for your effort. Maybe we can expect an upgrade of this game.

I just played the game and scored 10/10 (first time).
https://i.postimg.cc/FHCNZHfM/Screenshot-10.jpg

It's really a very cool game-like MCQ (Multiple Choice Question). This game will help more for newbies learning, also should add more questions. So think about the more question and add them to the game. Thanks for your good job.

I got the longest campaign wrong, as Chipmixer is the right answer although it's not.
777 is longer than Chipmixer, it was just that Hhampuz takes over the campaign from Lutpin if I'm not mistaken. But good job overall and it has a lot of leg room for improvement specially adding more questions.

Great game, I just finished the game, thank you for making that kind of game for this forum. It is not just a game because it is also informative, this game will teach us something about this forum. This is really good for the beginners in this forum, they will know some information in this forum if they are going to try this game.

Positive side
* I like the game because it's not that hard to play just like other game,
* I also like the colors that you have used In the game
* The theme of the game is really good because it's informative.

Negative side
* There is some mistake information, just like what others say.
* The scoring board would be like this x/10 and not 10/x

But anyway, thanks for this game, well done.

I tried the game as well. It was general knowledge, and I was confused with the question about Bitcoin services and bitcoin-related discussions, so it made me think that it's under development discussion or something, but oh well. It was fun to know if you have the general knowledge of the forum. Not bad. I appreciate you for making it to a website. Very nice!

What a great game OP is full of entertainment and fun. The user interface is just simple and user friendly which is good also it has a good color combination that is aesthetically on the player. Next is the game is running smoothly I'm heading toward the difficulty round because it is more tricky to the people who are already here for a long time like who is the eldest user in our forum. When I checked the longest campaign running I think because of the number of comments on the thread on their signature campaign. I hope there is a changes in this game and more questions that will give fun and entertainment to us. Good work!

Account sales is allowed. However once i find it in the quiz allowed and in another question not allowed. You need to fix it.
Maybe you can add that it is allowed but the account may be tagged by others as it changed hands.
I support those ideas and If not posted in beginners and help sub then I invite you both to create a topic there. +1 :)

I enjoyed playing the game a lot and learning a lot was like a quiz competition.  This game is very easy for those who have been connected to this forum for a long time, but for those who are new to me, the questions are very difficult.  But those 10 questions come up again and again in the games. If other questions could have been found by playing the second time, it would have been much better and what more could I know about this forum.  I hope the game will be more updated and we will learn more new things through this competition.

When I first opened the game, I thought it would be a lot easier, but it took me 20 minutes to answer the ten questions of the game, I had to answer a lot of thought.

My score: https://i.imgur.com/yndssg0.jpg

Thank you so much @Peanutswar for giving me such knowledge raising games.

I see a lot of potential for this project and I find it quite good for beginners to use this but my only concern for now is the color. Yeah its good that you uses the main color of this platform but I think there is more options to make it more eye-catching for the users. I am looking forward for the development of this project. I will keep my eye on this.

This is a great site that can motivate every one of crypto currency users because they can test their self if they are ready to do crypto currency and if they have enough knowledge about crypto currency because other users always taught that they already know a lot of things in crypto currency but they really have no knowledge about it and if they enter crypto currency, the investment they've done will turn into stone that might end up they having a disappointment in crypto currency. If something like that happens a lot of times, the mass adaptation we are waiting will be having a difficult times to occur.

    Some suggestions:

    1. Maybe add the title of the game on both landing page and on the questions page.
Or replace the "Bitcointalk.org" on the landing page with the title of the page.

    2. I think it is better the questions and choices are shuffled everytime the player repeats playing.

    3. If the answer was wrong, display also the correct answer .

    4. For the later features, add some levels of difficulties and types of quiz for the game to become more challenging.

    5. Also for future features, the result should have equivalent evaluation.

    6. Add more questions that is randomly generated every game, but limited only with 10 each game.[/li][/list]

The overall content and UI is good. Simple and recognizable that the game is related with the forum.
The questions can be answered offline. And on the otherhand, the landing page requires internet.

    Excited to see future updates!
    Goodluck!

I feel sorry guys my hard drive got corrupted and all of the updated files on our game are gone the only left is the oldest version that I save.

    File missed :

    Animation
    Game difficulties
    New landing page

Still, right now I'm working hard to get back all of the files or else I make a new start to re-code all of the features again and redesign.
