About:

Oblivion is an experimental project that aims to be community driven and utilize blockchain technology. The Oblivion blockchain is an open-source, hybrid Proof-of-Work (PoW) and Proof-of-Stake (PoS) blockchain fueled by the native Oblivion (OBV) cryptocurrency. The public launch of Oblivion blockchain will occur at 02 July 2020 at 10am GMT time.

Being mineable and permissionless, with a high level of decentralisation, fair distribution and censorship-resistance is ensured from the very start. In addition, the Oblivion blockchain has not raised any external funds (premine, ICO, STO, VC) whatsoever.

To prevent “ninja mining” the blockchain will start with 1440 blocks with rewards of 0.01 OBV per block, after which the next PoW 40,000 blocks will have 2500 OBV rewards per block. For the first 2 months, Oblivion will have a hybrid PoS/PoW emission. There will be 41,440 POW blocks mined during approximately 2 months, after which only PoS-based emission remains. In other words, after 2 months, all 100m OBV coins allocated for mining will be distributed and in circulation. Once there is no more emissions from mining, a 5% annual staking reward will remain.

Oblivion’s  initial distribution is via a PoW phase and thereafter switch to the more eco friendly PoS consensus first pioneered by SunnyKing in Peercoin, which is gaining popularity as we are seeing larger projects such as Ethereum switch to it.

what u wanna do is:
1. click <help>
2. chose <debug window> from the dropdown
3. go to the <console> tab
4. type in "walletpassphrase <YourPassword> xxxxxxx"  (xxxx represents the number of secounds u want ur wallet to be unlocked)
5. hit enter and ur wallet is unlocked for staking  for xxxxxx sec

as soon as ur in the console window and start typing walletp there should be a dropdown where it offers the "walletpassphrase" command

The Oblivion blockchain will relaunch today (02 July 2020) at 10am GMT time.

An update brings improvements to the code which will significantly reduce forking issues and improve stability of the network in the early phase on. All blockchain specifications remain as per the initial announcement of this thread, including the 2-day mining period without rewards.

The POW block with reward for miners will start in about 48h hours (about 04 July 2020 at 10am GMT).

the CPU Miner Multi does not work to mine this coin, it has no idea what CurveHash is.. not sure what im doing wrong

For those who are interrested, I compiled secp256k1 and then corrected the libs/includes for the cpuminer-multi with curvehash. It has been compiled with VS2013. Not sure where you'd like the binaries uploaded. Only did 64bit.

To list in uniswap you need to create a wrapped erc20 token of oblivion (wOBV) , create a swap tool from coin to wrapped token then list to uniswap the erc20 token, because uniswap can only list erc20 or ethereum tokens

Ok so I put something in writing.

I decided to launch some "community pools" let's call them like that.

How will the community pools work?

I will delegate a number of coins to each pool and stake them (5% POS annual staking reward), the accrued stakes of each pool will then be used for its intended purposes described below. That way there will be an everlasting source of new rewards.

First off there will be the Developers pool - it will reward developers who contribute to the project.

Up next, we have the Bounty pool -  this one will be used for promotions and contests.

I will start the pools with my own mined coins and manage them myself, if people wanna contribute and make a multisig or something, I'm all up for it!

The Oblivion Bounty pool starts off with 0.1m OBV and will later be filled up with part of the profits generated by the services. Only OBV coins in pool accounts generated by passive income from staking (PoS), amounting to 5% per year, will be distributed. The initial coins and the ones transferred thereafter are staked and the stakes are then used as prizes for contests, giveaways, content creation, bounties and other community-focused stimuli. By having a pool that is staking coins which are then used for prizes and rewards, the project ensures a constantly refilling source of rewards.

I've got some exciting news!
After a few conversations with @Tornomy, I am proud to announce that Tornomy will be collaborating with the OBV community to make the UBI and Volume pools a reality!
Tornomy's collaboration is essential for the operation of these pools, let me elaborate.

The pools are currently managed by me, Tornomy will distribute the OBV accordingly to users.

UBI pool, short for Universal Basic Income pool,  will ensure each KYC'd customer of Tornomy  their share of the OBV UBI each month.
Since no decentralized KYC solution currently exists, the collaboration ensures that there are no people who game the system and receive double UBI.

A first of it's kind UBI!
The way I designed this UBI model is the following: principal in the UBI pool stakes, and the rewards, are distributed evenly among all KYC'd users of Tornomy at the start of each month.
This means that the amount of OBV each user receives depends on two things: a.) the amount of OBV staking rewards in the UBI pool that month, and b.) the number of KYC'd users.
With only the newly staked coins being used for UBI, this model is the worlds first self sustaining UBI model.
