Title: [Part 2]Scammers using your profile link to register on WhalesHeaven Campaign! Post by: cryptoaddictchie on June 13, 2020, 06:06:56 AM What Happened:
A campaign from WhalesHeaven was launched and it only took a day for the application goes massive. Ive posted a post about this method on this thread https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5253552.0. But the thing here only profile has been viewed in the form. Thanks to our bot notfier creators @TryNinja, @GreatArkansas, and @giammangiato. All the usernames attached below will be notified of this awareness about their profile being used on such fraud activity. Got luck my account was skipped this time. XD Bounty Thread: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5254541.0 Signature Spreadsheet Code: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/u/0/d/1MydpoygVAXh6Z3nqUWjKAgnbnlwt_DsvXM9nCBnoupM/htmlview# Profiles have been used for applications Code: Arwin100 Now the thing is the ethereum address used for these application were hidden in the sheet. Its useless to note those telegram username cause probably that are all copied too. Ive already inform the manager of this campaign to check well the applications and refer to thread also for those who only submitted Proof Of Authentication and also if possible to publicized the address so we can note those addresa and determined whose account are being used for scamming. Note: already informed the manager about the sheet cause there are some who got accepted in the signature campaign though not really participated. Only scammer will benefit from it. I am sick and tired of all this scam shit in bitcointalk forum and in other websites like youtube! Is whalesHeaven profile connected with this? I am not sure if answer is yes, it should be flagged and banned from forum. Title: Re: [Part 2]Scammers using your profile link to register on WhalesHeaven Campaign! Post by: GreatArkansas on June 13, 2020, 01:02:49 PM Nice catch there, I also experience this before someone is using my username just to fill up some airdrop forms and put their own ethereum address, it's just like they are using some random or active Bitcointalk users and just put their own ethereum address and they are the one who can benefit.
The campaign/project got also fault here if they will give easy rewards for those users who are just using other identities. Thanks to our bot notfier creators @TryNinja, @GreatArkansas, and @giammangiato. P.S. My created bot got no notification feature :D, it's just pure bitcointalk information data with help of loyce.club by @LoyceV.Title: Re: [Part 2]Scammers using your profile link to register on WhalesHeaven Campaign! Post by: sujonali1819 on June 13, 2020, 03:49:25 PM So it is another shady job done by scammers. And this will continue until the bounty managers ask an authentication post or something like that so that none can abuse this. Managers also should check the spreadsheet popularly and reject these suspicious applications.
Unfortunately, there is no tracking way to find out the scammers so we should all aware of it and should check it sometimes for our own need. Because sometimes scammers could put one user account with other bitcointalk users. In this case, some users can suffer from it. Good finding op. keep it up. Managers also should check the spreadsheet popularly and reject these suspicious applications. That is if the manager is done with his own team so that they are careless in overseeing the movement of this shady scamer, but if the team entrusts to a professional manager I am sure there will be something like this because they already know how to deal with things like this. After the string of this report was made the team acted by rejecting many scamer who happened to signatures I think they were late to prevent this and finally many accounts were suspected there. Title: Re: [Part 2]Scammers using your profile link to register on WhalesHeaven Campaign! Post by: abel1337 on June 13, 2020, 11:03:53 PM It's true, there are too many impersonators that applied in the WhalesHeaven Campaign (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5254541.0). It is so hard to check them one by one but I did, Most of the spammers, scammers, and the one who is pretending where rejected.
I am actually hating on what happened on the initial registration. There are many reputable people who are impersonated and take note even me, I am also impersonated into the campaign. How ironic right, They even used my own profile (bounty manager) to try to get into the campaign. It's very frustrating but we are trying our best to improve and to do our best to avoid these scammers and impersonators around the forum. If you guys have a problem regarding the campaign, You can message me up here in the forum. Suggestions are highly recommended. Please give us some time. @cryptoaddictchie Thank you for the suggestion. We will try to show to Ethereum addresses that participants used to register. Title: Re: [Part 2]Scammers using your profile link to register on WhalesHeaven Campaign! Post by: cryptoaddictchie on June 14, 2020, 06:29:08 AM Is whalesHeaven profile connected with this? Of course not. If you will check the profiles of the one I mentioned they are different users whom been used for registration. I dont think own company will cheat on their own campaign right? Dont worry if there are some evidence pointing to those scammers we will update here.I am not sure if answer is yes, it should be flagged and banned from forum. Because sometimes scammers could put one user account with other bitcointalk users. In this case, some users can suffer from it. Good finding op. keep it up. Thats why we should not judge easily some of the users that accused of because scammer tend to use them for their evil doings. Not really good with this, but will help :)~snip So you are the handling it. Nice to know that, at least you got informed of the problem, hope the request could be approved as this help, maybe to note those address used for scamming. I have a feeling that these address were the same address used on this Scammers using Profile of High rank members to join social campaign of UNIFINITY (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5253552.msg54567174#msg54567174)Title: Re: [Part 2]Scammers using your profile link to register on WhalesHeaven Campaign! Post by: Aveatrex on June 16, 2020, 02:36:46 PM Suggestions are highly recommended. Please give us some time. They are using bots to massively impersonate forum users. Using some sort of human verification on the registering form like a captcha or simple questions regarding the project would immediatly discourage them and stop botting the forms. |
