A coin must at least have the following attributes to be known as a Blockchain 3.0 crypto.

No copy n pasting old tech and just renaming it.
3.0 Blockchains must have alot of code written from scratch.
A dev team.

Last year, Algorand and the International Swaps and Derivatives Association (ISDA) began to explore new ways to use the Algorand blockchain to enhance the implementation of the ISDA Common Domain Model (CDM). Since then, Algorand has developed several new features such as Algorand Standard Assets (ASAs) and Layer-1 TEAL smart contracts (ASC1s) which will significantly help ISDA CDM users create innovative applications of the CDM on the Algorand blockchain...........................
...........This post has talked about the work by Algorand and ISDA and how features such as ASAs and ASC1s can support the use of the ISDA CDM, benefiting the entire financial sector. However, this is just an example of the many exciting use cases that Algorand’s users have been working on. In future posts, we will focus on how ASAs can solve other relevant use cases in finance, starting from the creation of Central Bank Digital Currencies (CBDCs). Stay tuned!

Q: What is the state/status of ZKsnarks and other privacy tools for Avalanche?

Central Bank Digital Currencies
The experience with pandemic emergency payments has brought forward an idea that was already gaining increased attention at central banks around the world, that is, central bank digital currency (CBDC).
Legislation has proposed that each American have an account at the Fed in which digital dollars could be deposited, as liabilities of the Federal Reserve Banks, which could be used for emergency payments.
Other proposals would create a new payments instrument, digital cash, which would be just like the physical currency issued by central banks today, but in a digital form and, potentially, without the anonymity of physical currency.
Depending on how these currencies are designed, central banks could support them without the need for commercial bank involvement via direct issuance into the end-users’ digital wallets combined with central-bank-facilitated transfer and redemption services.
 

The Federal Reserve has been researching issues raised by central bank digital currency for some time.
The Board of Governors has a technology lab that has been building and testing a range of distributed ledger platforms to understand their potential benefits and tradeoffs.
Staff members from several Reserve Banks, including Cleveland Fed software developers, are contributing to this effort.
The Federal Reserve Bank of Boston is also engaged in a multiyear effort, working with the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, to experiment with technologies that could be used for a central bank digital currency.
The Federal Reserve Bank of New York has established an innovation center, in partnership with the Bank for International Settlements, to identify and develop in-depth insights into critical trends and financial technology of relevance to central banks.

With USDT printing most of the stablecoin volume last year they added most of the USDT to BTC & ETH making it easier for big players to move around.

 As the founder of quant trading firm Alameda Research, exchange FTX and DeFi protocol Serum, the curly haired 28-year-old has amassed a $10 billion fortune in just three years in the industry.

He was the second largest donor to President Joe Biden’s campaign, after former New York mayor Michael Bloomberg, tipping in $5.2 million.


“With FTX as a retail facing business the more customers the better. You can build the best  product in the world but if no one knows about it it’s not worth anything,” he says.
“One of the hardest and most interesting pieces has been figuring out how to get users, and increasing awareness was a big part of that.”

He’s also using his wealth and influence to try and overcome what he sees as the biggest blocker preventing the wide scale adoption of DeFi. He believes that Ethereum, including Eth2 can’t scale enough to allow crypto and DeFi to replace the existing financial system. DeFi can currently handle about 10 transactions per second, with second layer solutions enabling a few thousand TPS.

“This is an absolute hard, immoveable barrier, in terms of growth,” he says. “DeFi just literally cannot grow as an ecosystem until that is addressed. And so no long-term plan that doesn’t address it is viable. […] That is just fatal.” Even Eth2’s goal of 100,000 TPS isn’t enough for what SBF has in mind.

“If your goal is to scale to 100 million or a billion users, […] if you want to have the upside of an application that might grow to the scale of the largest applications in the world, it needs to be able to scale up to about a million transactions a second. And so you can just sort of cross off the list permanently with no recourse and not even needing to consider any other factor, any scaling solution that doesn’t get there, if that’s your goal.”

That’s what led him to become one of the most vocal proponents for Solana, a blockchain that can currently process 65,000 TPS and whose team claim it can eventually scale up to astonishing levels: 710,000 TPS on a 1 gigabit link or 28.4 million TPS on a 40 gigabit link.

He founded the Serum DEX on Solana and launched the SRM cryptocurrency in August 2020. Bankman-Fried say you can see Solana’s benefits in Serum’s on chain order book matching engine and fees of “100th of a penny to send an order and trades happen in seconds.”

Totally see why he says this and agree with SBF on SOLs tech and have been very vocal for Solana.

IMO the key for crypto success is...
The biggest changes i made after a few years into crypto...
I completely stopped worrying about the fiat value...
I stopped panic selling when the price dropped....
i stopped using stop limits...
i stopped placing coins for sale...

I began wanting more coins...(after DYOR, FA is what matters most)
If the price dropped ,i would simply buy more...
if it dropped more..id buy even more...

I began valuing my crypto more than my fiat.

Once i knew the good projects, it was just a matter of hodling.
The coins are priced in fiat..fiat is unlimited in supply and growing in supply at an exponential rate...crypto isnt.

All good coins will naturally keep going up...just make sure you got plenty of them  ;)

So what i gather is Anchorage did a test send of USDC on ETH to a VISA ETH address...
Now they will be testing and launching on the others later this year.
Probably late Q3 for SOL going live.

Im 100% confident VISA will not use ETH due to its technical limitations and high costs
Ethereum blocks are already 99.9% full...not much use for VISA unless they pay mega fees for every tiny USDC tx.

SOL is the one they will use most...this is why Circle built around SOL.

People use VISA credit/debit cards for small daily transactions...
Only SOL lets you spend $10 to 1cent USDC , the amount doesn't matter its almost free and the receiver will always get paid instantly.

Think of it as at the 3nm claim from TSMC. It doesn't mean that the every gate on the chip is 3nm, its that the smallest feature is 3nm, and that 3nm is 2x better then 6nm. Modern day node builds our #mb-hardware-tunning discord channel have demonstrated 200k tps for the same benchmark. That doesn't mean that we can run 200k serum orders, but it does mean it's 4x better then the 50k builds, and that's just with 1 year of hardware improvements.

This stuff matters because nasdaq handles 500ktps load across their markets. This is the only way to really handle impermanent loss at scale for large volumes. Our goal is to keep optimizing until a nasdaq level central limit order book can run on a decentralized network. What's awesome is that every improvement we add to the runtime also increases capacity for votes, which means more validators can participate in consensus, txs are cheaper for everyone, more censorship resistance!

Coinbase will be selling 114 million shares directly to the public according to its SEC filing. Aside from that, there is no fixed or determined amount of shares that will be for sale as other shareholders may or may not sell their shares.

The company will not be paying dividends on its stock, nor does it plan to pay dividends to shareholders in the future.
 Coinbase writes that it intends “to retain all available funds and any future earnings for use in the operation of our business and do not anticipate paying any dividends on our capital stock in the foreseeable future.”

Something to think about.....

Blockchain 3.0 coins apart from the better tech over POW coins there is so much more...



staking coins have a huge difference from old POW coins, the stakes are locked and cannot dump as easy as POW coins.

The biggest reason is because
The stakers earn, so even if it drops the stakers still have more coin and can sell from their earned stake...
unlike POW coins which you always end up having less of when you sell.


Benefits of being a long term staker.....
Try working out a few scenarios and you will learn what im saying...in a dump scenario...
you have 1 btc worth $60k, it drops 50% after a year you still have 1 btc but now worth $30k, if you sell after the dump  10% btc you get 50% less fiat ..
but if you had 2k SOL worth $60k staking with 10% rewards and the market dropped 50% after a year just like btc...
you would have earned 200 extra SOL worth $3k, you could sell the 200 SOL and still have your original 2k SOL...

In a pump scenario the stake coins win even more than POW coins...

Tether (one of the most common stablecoins) just increased its circulating supply in the Algorand blockchain from 10M to 94M tokens, which means we will likely start seeing more transactional volume of USDT in the Algorand blockchain in the near future!

It seems that all new USDTs went to Bitfinex' wallet, so it seems that they are embracing Algorand and expanding the USDT transfer options in their exchange.

PayPal is exploring the launch of a stablecoin

Four sources with knowledge of the situation told The Block that PayPal has made the rounds among some of the industry’s stablecoin protocol developers — suggesting the payments giant may be leaning towards working with a third-party company.

Ava Labs, the team behind the Avalanche blockchain, is one of the organizations that has held talks with PayPal over stablecoin development, according to people familiar with the matter. It is not clear which other protocols have been involved in the discussions.

Im not worried about the new ICP that come into circ every month.
The 10% from airdrops/investors etc for the next 12 months is actually a good thing.

Most prob dont know that AVAX has a similar distribution.
The amazing thing to see was as more AVAX came onto the market from investors, the higher the price went..adding liquidity is a good thing.
AVAX went from $2 to over $50 as supply increased.
and this was not a one off event..check Solana..Jan 2021 all SOLs were released everyone expected a huge crash...it went from $4 before the release to $1 then within a few months almost $50 after all SOLs were put out.

ICP will do something similar to AVAX & SOL.

The way ICP Blockchain is designed, it is the cheapest smart contracts platform of all.

This is huge, imagine a DEX being built on ICP...even 1000s of DEXs all running at the same time..

Ive noticed a huge change in crypto investors this time round..they are not scared of the dips as much as they used to be.
All i hear now is, "its dropped alot, should i buy more now or wait a bit"....either way they want more, they are not worried...
These people have jobs and look at crypto as a long long term investment against fiat...these people now know the difference between currency and money.

At the start crypto was just speculation today crypto has use cases...financial businesses use Blockchain tech.

I think in the early days the biggest concern most had is would the tech work? what if the tech fails and i lose everything.
However with todays knowledge ,we all know how Blockchain operates and the tech is solid 100%...so no need to worry anymore.

Another major change is the cypto education.
Today the average crypto investor has access to a wealth of quality information,stats,charts etc that we did not have in the last few bull runs.
We have helped others avoid the problems we faced while learning, this sped up their learning.

Im more happier today knowing that the next gen of crypto investors look at crypto in such a positive way because of a combined effort from everyone of us to help,teach,create and educate others about Crypto.

I guess this was the test i thought we would see...sooner than i thought but good to see it and hopefully thats it out of the way.
Its also healthy to see the coins doing the full retrace of up to 80% from top...the next run up can begin soon.

We are not entering a bear market...all the money is in stablecoins, not cashed out into fiat and to the banks.

Pick up as much as you can....the whales cant dump to much more or they risk losing their positions...

When btc came out it took around 4 years to hit $1k..then it dropped to $100 within a month.
A few years later it was $20k then dropped to $3k..
It took btc years to make $1k and today after 10 years it does $1k moves within seconds...because the market has grown.

Eth is the same, took years to go over $100...today it does $100 moves within seconds.

In the future btc will be doing $20k swings in minutes...eth will be doing $1k moves just as quick.

Algo,SOL and the other new projects are no different...today we see SOL at $22 after a year since its launch...
Within a few years we will see SOL at $1000+ doing $22 swings every few seconds.
This is the time you need to wait for...this is why its so important to keep accumulating, hodlin and staking..

I feel you fellow crypto bro, all will be fine.
Im assuming you mean 55% in fiat value.

I try to ignore the fiat value of my portfolio, it always fluctuates...but by coin amount doesn't unless i want it too.
It isnt easy but after doing this for almost 10 years i eventually began coin collecting more than fiat collecting and the results always led to more fiat.

As long as you still got the same amount of crypto or more from the previous ATH, your 55% loss in fiat should be ignored.
The coins we hodl give us stakes too, so there is no need to touch your main holdings that are being staked, use the rewards to spend into fiat if fiat is required.

We understand why we are doing this, we are here for the long run and we only buy coins with solid fundamentals...
I have fattened up my crypto bags alot today and if tomorrow we see cheaper coins we will get more...

Yes 55% down in fiat value, I didnt sell anything. Good approach with looking at coin amount, that way you can buy more cheaper coins when price drops and not cry about losing 90% in fiat value.

profit in coin on fiat dumps...profit in fiat when coin pumps

Taking profits for me come from the staking rewards..i sell from there to cover real world expenses...if required but most time i just compound it.
Sometimes swing trade the rewards...but never sell from my main hodl stack.

Another way is...if you had example, 100sol last week, you bought 10 more today, you got 110, keep adding to the amount.
Then later you can sell 10 or more and enjoy the profits from that and you still have your original 100. (hope i make sense lol)

Good thing will be to sell some when pumps hard to buy back later when bear market comes

Yea, that comes from the second part, profit in coin on fiat dumps...profit in fiat when coin pumps
But  dont sell from your main holdings, build up your stake rewards then sell them if you want to when it pumps hard.

On the opening page the first coin i mention is ANKR...even though its not a B3 coin..it provides an important service for B3 chains.

Arweave is probably even more important for the next gen highly scalable B3 chains.

Solana is getting a new NFT marketplace called Metaplex.
The platform will allow creators to mint and sell non-fungible tokens through an easy-to-use marketplace.
Most NFTs live on Ethereum today, but the expense of the chain could help the space flourish on Solana.

Any NFTs minted through Metaplex will be stored on Arweave, which backs data with perpetual payments for a one-off fee.
This will enable creators to receive automatic payouts.



Raj Gokal, COO of Solana Labs and strategic advisor to Metaplex, explained how building on Solana will allow Metaplex to overcome many of the challenges associated with the NFT space today. He said:

“Building on a foundation of the Solana protocol and Arweave, Metaplex is able to dramatically reduce minting and trading fees. The launch of a Solana-based NFT platform will help accelerate the pace of innovation we’re seeing in the space by providing an easy to use and more economically viable platform that can better serve both the creators and their communities.”

Yesterday, pro-democracy Hong Kong news outlet Apple Daily was forced to close.

But not before activists in Hong Kong uploaded much of its contents to Arweave.

You can read about it in CNBC, Reuters, etc.:


10,000 pages and other assets from Apple Daily are now stored permanently on the Arweave network.

They are being mirrored across ~1,000 nodes, distributed globally.

Mining Arweave now means replicating these records of history.

They will not be forgotten.


Meanwhile, a new effort to archive The Stand News, a non-profit pro-democracy paper in Hong Kong, is already beginning. The archive is large — costing ~3,000 AR to store.

Clearly, AR as a data availability layer for long tail of history is going to be a thing. Imho, long tail of data availability and audits are a solved problem, and the optimum design is for the execution layer to focus entirely on core censorship resistance.

Instead of explaining Bitcoin to Aunt Becky I upload our picture onto the Arweave network and explain to her that I can pay to store this picture on the network using a credit or “token”.
I let her know that to store the 1MB picture it cost me only .04 USD.
The picture can never be deleted and it will only be seen by those I choose to give the link to ( I chose the private file option on Ardrive).
She can now open the link from any device around the world that has access to the internet.
The file will always be there, so if 100 years from now both myself and Aunt Becky are gone — our relatives will still be able to see that photo of us. This is possible because the money (or tokens) paid to the network to store the data is shared by participating computers all over the world that store the data.
The network participants are rewarded by a fund (a perpetual endowment) built into the system for providing access to and storing the data.

Ethereum itself can be used as a decentralized storage system, and in fact it is when it comes to code storage in all the smart contracts.
When it comes to large amounts of data, however, that isn't what the system is designed for.
At the time of writing, the Ethereum chain is around 350GB, and every node on the network needs to be able to store all 350GB of data.
If the chain were to expand to large amounts of data (say 5TBs) it wouldn't be feasible for all nodes to continue to run.
Also, this can get incredibly expensive to deploy new data due to the size.

Due to these constraints, we need a different chain or methodology to storing large amounts of data in a decentralized manner.

When looking at decentralized storage (dStorage) options, there are a few things a user must keep in mind.

Persistence mechanism / incentive structure
Data retention enforcement
Decentrality
Consensus

Friend is asking about arweave.

Where is the high performance compute in Arweave? It's storage-only. Same as Filecoin, Sia, Storj, etc.

They're decentralized storage protocols. You can do that with a hard drive in your pocket. Compute requires bandwidth, networking, security, etc. Its data centers. Not spare servers and spare laptops. A different game none of them can play unless they upgrade the economic models of their protocols to support the capex intense nature of high performance compute.

Store is building a different world.

Arweave is very different to anything seen before...ill try keep this short lol...lots of info going back a few pages here.

Filecoin's economic model mirrors that of centralized cloud providers: contract-based storage.
Contract-based storage can be more simply thought of as a pay-as-you-go model.
Users pay a network of nodes that store X bytes of data for Y period of time with Z retrievability guarantees.
Storj, Sia and SAFE use the same model.


Arweave, on the other hand, introduces an entirely new economic model to the market, one that was never possible before the advent of permissionless crypto networks: permanent storage.
With permanent storage, users pay a one-time, up-front fee to store the data forever.
Permanent storage creates an entirely new market (we’ll get to this later).
The Arweave protocol accomplishes this by leveraging crypto-economic game theory and creating an endowment to compensate miners for ensuring data availability, reliability and permanence.]
Permanent data storage is an entirely new service that Amazon, Google and others cannot offer.

Arweave will be storing the history for all these Blockchains...this is unheard of in the world of crypto

Cost to send an Arweave is almost free, 0.000001USD or something.
Storing data has different price structures.
As for things like throughput, transaction speed.
High Transaction Speeds
The Arweave structure is aiming to be a high-speed blockchain with up to 5000 TPS. This high TPS will be achieved through an innovative system that does not require nodes to store full copies of the blockchain.

Instead, nodes utilize a system that includes a block hash list that allows old blocks to be verified, and potential new blocks evaluated effectively and a wallet list that allows transactions to be verified without possessing the block in which the last transaction was used.

These high-speed data transfers allow for data storage, data sharing, and data collaboration.

Abstract
This document describes the data format and directions for reading and writing bundled binary data. Bundled data is a way of writing multiple independent data transactions (referred to as DataItems in this document) into one top level transaction. A DataItem shares many of the same properties as a normal data transaction, in that it has an owner, data, tags, target, signature, and id. It differs in that is has no ability to transfer tokens, and no reward, as the top level transaction pays the reward for all bundled data.

Motivation
Bundling multiple data transactions into one transaction provides a number of benefits:

Allow delegation of payment for a DataItem to a 3rd party, while maintaining the identity and signature of the person who created the DataItem, without them needing to have a wallet with funds

Allow multiple DataItems to be written as a group

Increase the throughput of logically independent data-writes to the Arweave network

Motivation
Different people want different new features from Bitcoin Cash.
Bitcoin Cash's block interval remains 10 minutes, which is too long by comparison, as there are other chains offering intervals of seconds. Although Bitcoin Cash supports secure zero-confirmation transactions, complex scenarios besides payments need short confirmation times for better user experience, such as DeFi.

Bitcoin Cash has a limited script system which is not Turing-complete, making it more difficult to use than Ethereum's EVM. Also, it is less capable than EVM and Solidity, as they offer the best ecosystem and encompass the most programmers among all the smart contract platforms. It's a pity they cannot be utilized in Bitcoin Cash's ecosystem.

Currently, Bitcoin Cash's capability has been proven to reach 14MB. Although at this moment its block size is only 0.8 MB on average, it is growing fast: more than three times since the beginning of 2021. If it keeps growing at such a rate, 14MB would not be enough in the near future. Since issues surrounding block size larger than 14MB remain unknown and have not been field-tested, it would be best to begin getting prepared for further scaling of Bitcoin Cash's throughput.

What can Smart Bitcoin Cash contribute to the Bitcoin Cash ecosystem? Well, it builds a new playground for testing new features: It has a short confirmation time, supports EVM and Web3 with novel optimizations to provide higher throughput, and also provides new channels for one to invite more users to join Bitcoin Cash's ecosystem.
