Russia is seeking to limit all cryptocurrency-related activities, but it does not seem to be very favorable. Up to now, the situation related to cryptocurrency in Russia is still controversial, especially since March this year. That was the time when Russian lawmakers introduced a new bill. The bill threatens to ban cryptocurrency transactions in Russia. In fact, all activities related to cryptocurrency will be prohibited.

Russia has a Ministry of Justice?? How strange for a communist country!

I just read the article and it seems that Russia's Ministry of Justice didn't challenge the bill. They have criticized the inconsistencies within, just to make it more foolproof.

Challenge is a wrong word to use here, it seems from the article! I will be happy if I am wrong! But doesn't look that way!

Probably the most stupid thing I've ever heard.
How the hell could you own cryptos and not use them, probably only if a friend gifts you a paper wallet!

It appalls me that some people are literally paid from the public's coffers just to propose bills with lots of inconsistencies such as this one. If they are allowing the ownership of bitcoin and cryptocurrencies with the bill but not using it, what do they expect the people would do to it? With what they are currently suggesting, underground economies would surely flourish and a lot of people will disobey the bill as it does not, in the slightest, thought of the welfare of the public.

I guess it will take years before Russia gets some form of progress with cryptocurrencies. They are taking a step forward and 10 steps backward with these kinds of stuff, really.

Its not new though, we have heard Russia's stances on crypto before - total contradictory, so we really don't know, perhaps up to this day, they are undecided at all. Probably might take a decade whether they are going to allow it or not. And maybe when other countries have taken steps and accepted crypto, Russia will be left out. But as we can see in this community, Russia's crypto enthusiast are huge, so regardless, crypto will still flourish there, no doubt.

No, in this decision the planned mechanism is not like what is contained in the media today, it is misinterpreted about the bill planned by (Russian Prime Minister), many pros and cons in terms of this policy.

This process in the legality of bitcoin in Russia is just a delaying tactic to prevent further advancements of cryptocurrency, this kind of feels sad because they can't find a stance with regards to bitcoin, the people are the one that is caught in the crossfire of this anti and pro legislation, I hope they meet a compromise so that they can move on.
