It is interesting that some rather small coins actually appear here. I am just a bit surprised that top coins that altough have a huge market cap like Dash and Binance do not appear here

Impressive, coingecko is now my favourite, I gave up on coinmarketcap already, hopefully Coingecko sincerity and reputation won't be sold off for money

Yes I'm also surprised not to see these two coins they have a huge volume and they have more followers and investors than all the coins in the data, it's hard to believe that the two coins are not showing what could be the reason, is it because they already bookmarked the link or majority of their supporters are using Coinmarketcap.

Maybe the Dash & Binance coin "searchers" are not on Coingecko, otherwise it doesn't explain this top. Apart from Dash and Binance coin I can't see Monero, Tezos, Icon, Neo... Strange, at least one I've mentioned is very popular nowadays.

It looks like people are starting to take a look at the small coins caused by the huge increases that happened with some coins in the market. That could be the main reason why people are starting to see small coins right now.

wow, this is very interesting news. What surprises me is that Litecoin has fallen to the 23rd position although the marketcap is very large. meanwhile the small alts are being sought after by many speculators. It seems that the tastes of the market have changed a lot and people are aiming to invest more in technology, a good sign guys :D

Yeah, been using coingecko for a while now, but I haven't seen this numbers before. Perhaps those small coins do have some followers because obviously, then can be pump and the potential to have huge profits is there.

@chip1994 - I'm not surprised by LTC though, they have been in the game for so long but there's no actual utility case, except being bitcoin's small brother and most of the time being use by gamblers as an option.

Very interesting altcoins. It’s unusual to look at such a top after coinmarketcap. Really interesting thread. It is always interesting to see an alternative top of good altcoins. The same as looking for the top 300 in coinmarketcap.

The top 10 most search coins looks solid to me so no surprised at all. But just the rest of you guys, small cap coins? I still remember that we have a thread about small cap coins, so there must be a good followers from this community, just maybe. Yes, perhaps the time is changing, as investors matures, there is a shift of sentiments. But I do agree that next month we might see some changes as well, specially down 20-40 lists.

Yeah, they're looking for a similar coin with the same feature to invest and hope for the same hype take place. I think I can see a new trend in the market toward some particulate coin.

Surprisingly, Binance doesn't appear on this list, it seems that coingecko was dishonest in this review because BNB is one of the altcoins in this market and there are so many people investing and supporting it.

All seems good. I don't know why some people are crying for BNB here, BNB is a total shit and too much over priced to be honest. Investing in BNB in current price is way ore risky in my opinion. They are nothing but an exchange backed coin.

Does someone know why Zilliqa is almost the most searched crypto asset? I closely watch all sharding coins: ZIL, QKC, Harmony, and Ethereum, but currently we can´t talk that the sharding technology works like it is stated in the whitepaper.

Money talks when it comes to business and if that time and opportunity comes for Coingecko, they have to jump from one boat to another boat. And for sure it will be a hard time for them because innovation is the only thing that's constant in a business. We have seen the example from coinmarketcap being acquired by a bigger business in the form Binance. Technically and logically speaking, coingecko is prone to that innovation and acquisition if time permits.

Binance happens to be own by their competitor Coinmarketcap so they intentionally exclude that, if they have their way they don't want Binance in their list, it's hard to believe that Binance coin is not in the data, it should be, I wonder if Coinmarketcap will release their own data, now that Coingecko releases their own.

Absolutely!
Not a good one to cling on. It is too clear that anyone who has been in crypto for so long will surely not to fall on this bait. This result will also destroy the reputation of coingecko.

Swissborg was quite a surprise for me, it is nicely trending on many platforms, although they deserve appreciation because of the quality of the products and ecosystem they have came up with and that too in a very systemic process, so now we are seeing massive demand for their tokens, many analysts claim that chsb still have massive upside potential, i am glad that i was still holding my CHSB tokens from the ico time and i am sure i will be able to get great profit after being patient for so long.

I am not familiar with some of the coins in the most searched assets, i understand some have a much bigger market cap but what is with the coins like syncFab, Rivex, KardiaChain who are not having that much of a total market cap and still it is the most searched asset which is really weird, if anyone have an explanation why that is it would be great.

I see Ferrum Network is also in this top searched asset list. It’s a underrated coin in my opinion. But in the last month it’s increasing a lot i think for such movement investors too much searched this coin. I've seen others a few interesting coin but i don’t know enough about those coins likes Ghost,SyncFab,Rivex coins.

Most major coins aren't even on the search list but however newer coins are found there; could it be that most people find it better using coinmarketcap for searching most major coins like BNB and the rest? Nevertheless, it is an impressive list thus showing that for people to search for these coins this much means there are potentials within them, which of course is the main thing we need in the crypto space now most especially when it is about new altcoins. Seems I will also start using coingecko to know what I'm actually missing and what is attracting such good attention from users.

Thank you for sharing this information with us, it seems most investors are more interested in small altcoins than top altcoins. That is why l can not see BNB or another coin which have really huge volume, although they are not listed here. But it is just good to see ETH among them, ETH is really the best one. However, to tell the truth, l didn't know some coins here till your post read.

Compound has been getting too much attention for what they are doing but I honestly can't see them sustain that model forever, it is a good one and I understand all the research into it and all the interest and attention it is getting however none of that means it would be successful forever, it would probably crumble under pressure after a while when they fail.

Bitcoin and Ethereum is still there and that means they are getting that much requests every single week even though they are already the big ones, you would think nobody would really need to search for those ones since everybody knows them anyway but they are still the biggest so that is why they get it.

The interesting one is I do not see the names of any other top 10 coins in that three hot thingy big searched list, must not be getting too much attention anymore (ignore ripple, they are scam).

Should they really be seen as being small? They might know, but most of the coins I see there are those with good potentials. They are truly made of stuff and have got good things to offer. If a coin is truly providing the needed solution to a problem(s), people will si=ort after them. I am sure that a lot of them would have started feeling the positive impact o the market.

Ghose was a new coin created by McAfee and that's a crap coin too. It looks like other coins that are not so popular that has already mentioned in the list gets a lot of traffic caused by the pump that happened with the coin itself. You can even see the current chart of those coins.

i think BNB is overrated already. or people already know its existence so they dont bother to search it anymore. or maybe it tops in CMC site. however, the list only shows most searched assets, it doesnt translates to how much they actually bought. it would be interesting if there is stats that you can see how much was invested on every coin but this would be hard to compile with

I've been following most of these assets lately especially the upcoming coins in there and i most say the list is quite on point. It is rather interesting that even the upcoming coins with good potentials and products are being recognized the more as the entire market see more and more of regulations. My shout out goes to Ferrum Network, one of the most guenuine projects out there with unique products aimed at taking crypto market to the next level

Coingecko has more accurate data, and the site is starting to be trusted by many large investors. I think everyone will have different thoughts when it comes to this problem, but Coingecko is really doing very well and can completely beat Coinmarketcap someday. However, sometimes the data at Coingecko is still a bit wrong, so it is best to use it in parallel.

I think people are looking for something with low price and potential to improve with time, I also use coingecko alot more than cmc, your idea of people using cmc to search major coins like bnb is not true from my own perspective, I have both app installed in my device but I found myself using coingecko more often than the cmc irrespective of the coin am searching for, major or non major coins.

If you look at the major coins, most of them already gave investors more profit and price is already high same as their marketing cap, but in the case of non major coins, the prices still relatively low, market cap equally low and they have the potential to bring higher profits than major coins. This is my opinion.

As always Coingecko always provides the best service for the cryptocurrency community, this really helped me in analyzing coins
which I will buy, especially for choosing new projects requires a lot of input and references. And we can see from the top 30 most
searched for assets there are several new projects names that appear, this makes it easier for me to choose new projects that I will
analyze.

Maybe when the time this stats showed up Binance is not being search by people who use this site, chances that developers
and supporters of small cap coins manage to hype their projects.
No question with binance if we talk about investors and traders who are into this coin as it's one of those well known projects
that being invested by many traders around.
Also, considering that CMC is already been acquired by binance, most people who supported binance project might be using
Coinmarket instead of taking time using Gecko.

I think small coins (transaction fees are small also) are more convenient for people like us that have no huge funds that's why we go for affordable ones. Like me, I never get to buy dash coin (I can't afford it ;D)

I was also surprise that I didn't see BNB as one of the top searched coins in this particular site.

CoinGecko is also a popular site next to CMC I guess, so this information shared by OP is very vital to know the interest of the investor, usually I used this site if I like to search on new projects as they have that kind of list and more detailed than CMC.

A little OT; If CMC would make their own survey, what do you think would be the top searched coins?
Do you think that BNB will take the first spot since they own this site already?

Thanks for sharing this list. I see some coins I have and that is very positive. It's interesting to see billions of views,
this numbers will rise definitely! This shows how important is to have Bitcoin and Ethereum before others, Bitcoin have
advantage and I doubt anyone can come close in the near future.
I didn't expect to see Tron so high, but there it is. I will probably buy more, they are growing very fast.

Yeah its common but when it comes to potential then no one really beats up with Btc and ETH but in choosing up some alts then this would really matter on self preference and risk maangement.

We do expect that a coin doesnt have future but checking out the index or stats it do really shows that it do have really that interest and support. Therefore, we can say that it might be

worth to throw up some bucks and adding those coins or project into our portfolio. Among the list, i do only knew a few and didnt expect that some shit coins really get that much attention.

well sometimes it's very difficult to find a small coin in other places usually. and well maybe in other places of exchange it seems to only hold good coins, but at the time of many scam projects I think now there are lots of small coins and it makes it hard for me to exchange them and here it seems like it's good maybe I'll try it.

At Coingecko provides more exchange information and more coins which sometimes we cannot find on CoinMarketCap, making me prefer to use it to monitor the price of the coins sought and when to buy or sell coins, this is very helpful for me.

Coingecko was not putting very strict requirements to list a new token or coin while CMC was doing some verifications to list a new coin on its platform. The investors were interesting to know more about which is the potential coin and they were checking the small coins much more intense compared with the major coins.
