Title: What's happening with Patreon?

It looks as if they have got themselves into some legal hassles that will destroy the company.

Will they take their customers' money to try to stay afloat?

Had to search a bit to find what's that about, and found this post on their subreddit:

I'm not sure if post is within the guidelines of this subreddit, so if not, just remove it.

I'm trying to dispel a lot of false posts/stories circulating today stating that Patreon "now owes millions" in legals fees it cannot pay and to hurry up and close your accounts.

This is 100% false, and information spread by a certain group who is very unhappy that a particular creator got banned.

What happened is 72 of his followers filed arbitration cases. Patreon tried to get an injunction against them in CA court under a clause that forbids class actions.

The judge only issued a tentative ruling that denied Patreon's motion for an injunction. If Patreon ultimately has to arbitrate those cases, they could have to pay up to $10,000 per case, or $720,000.

The "Patreon lost a lawsuit" and "owes millions" story is 100% false.

Still don't know exactly what is happening with them, though. Could you share a link?

TryNinja, it seems none of the major online publications had covered the story yet. I can only find twitter and youtube links:
