Title: POS-Only Crypto Exchange?
Post by: IMZ Noo Account on August 02, 2020, 08:01:45 AM
I'm sure energy-efficiency will become a crucial crypto issue. Got a couple of POS cryptos in mind.

Does anyone know of an exchange that handles only POS (or POW-POS) cryptos?

And if you have thoughts on this notion, please, let's hear them.

If you are looking for information about exchanges that provide only POS and/or POS-POW coins, then that exchange is usually not very well known.
Here are some exchanges that i often use to make transactions, especially for POS coins :
1. Crex24
2. Graviex
3. Birake.

And the latest (I haven't tried it yet): Bitfineon (https://twitter.com/bitfineon)
Or you can use coingecko. Search your favorite POS-POW coins, and search in what exchange those your favorite coins listed.

I haven't seen an exchange that's solely focused on POS or POW coins, mostly it's a combination. But sure, that many of them have a combination of those coins on their list. Binance is one that has in the list for staking.

https://www.binance.com/nl/staking

You should try top exchanges, they support staking and they are more reliable, binance exchange supports Tezos and other popular altcoins with staking activated and Kucoin is another good top exchange that supports staking too

Energy efficiency has been a long discussed topic in crypto and everything in mining keeps getting more efficient but the question isn't so much about the energy but the benefits that it brings. A lot of people would think energy cost is worth it to have something as PoW secure as Bitcoin whereas POS all you need to do is buy up all the tokens and then you take control. Kind of a no brainer.

There's no such certain exchange which only work with PoS only coins. I am wondering what you are looking for here exactly. If you are looking for exchanges which share rewards with its investor in the form of staking, there are Binance, kucoin etc.
By the way, PoS is not that good for a decentralized coin, it's only saving energy.

there is something like this before but they already shutdown the website of that exchange .they only accept pos coins back then and you can earn pos rewards even you just holding it in your wallet in that exchange  but they turn be scam ,and I don't hear any exchange like that. if there is any you need to also remember the risk of storing it in exchange if you don't want to experience the same thing  to what happen to those stored their crypto on that exchange .

If im remember it right the name of that exchange is coinmarkets

Hey, Little Mouse. I'll sidestep the security argument for this thread, or we'll just get bogged down.

But 'It's only saving energy'? It's my estimation that climate-change-mitigation politics will be globally central by end of this decade. A POS-only crypto exchange would recognise this: POS or POW-POS cryptos only, and perhaps projects relating to running whole crypto ecosystems on (proveably) renewable energy.

I t h i n k I remember the outfit you mean, Akiko: 'turned out to be a scam'. It's not the staking that we'd focus on (so no storing coin on exchange), but the energy-efficiency thing.

The thing is there is no much room for POW coins and community POS coins are also not being able to sustain for long. Every new crypto are from well funded projects and there are lesser and lesser involvement in community coins as the volunteer coders are now getting better incentive for getting involved in good projects. I don't even know any of those POS or POW coins that came in last year and made it to spotlight.

They set their platform for PoS and designed for staking. Most exchange does have these nowadays. If you observed, many big markets are offering this with different percentage earning. But for me, I think its always good to stake on the platform of the coin itself cause Im sure they offering a lot higher than the exchange platform.

Example Binance, they have certain percentage but if you go to the platform of the coin could be higher with more percentage.

Great idea.
platform for PoS and designed for staking.

I am very supportive of this idea.
A trading platform for PoS.

I am not so supportive of the staking idea.
The staking service has some moral hazards.
And has been attempted before, several times.

Here's a list of POS projects

Trading POS coins, and developing energy-efficiency projects. Staking is neither here nor there.

May I post a bit on the core philosophies inherit within POS projects.

1.  Energy Efficiency -- YES!  By orders of magnitude.

2.  All viable top tier POW projects, ASIC, GPU, CPU are all captured by industrial enterprises.  Unless you have ++$33,xxx,xxx or more to sink in.  You ain't gonna mine BTC, BCH, LTC, etc ... for any length of time.

3.  POS can be mined with very basic computer skills.

4.  Also most projects are under capitalized, hence likely to have reward in the end for a small risk in capital.

5.  I call it the common man's blockchain, because any who can participate as a block producing principal.

6.  Nodes.  Do the research to see.  Many POS chains have more block producing nodes than all the top level projects.  Yes even BTC or ETH.  [that is a big reveal]

--
Trading POS coins, yes!  Let that be the focus of this thread.
Thinking out loud.  I'd like to see a trading group that can facilitate a platform that lists at cost of operations, not the current for profit list new pumpNdump for 0.xxx btc then fizzle and fade out and exit scam.

So an exchange network that is and for the coins, not the trade operators ;)

Most exchanges are now offering staking programs on their investors that are offering POS concepts and investors also investing in their exchanges, as you can check out the Binance staking program, KUCOIN, and even more, exchanges offering POS concept, no doubt POW is a costly investment now due to high cost of energy.

What is the difference? So far, we haven't heard about a tax for a platform that has included proof of work coins? Or someone who paid a fine for using those platforms.
In the end, the platforms are looking for profit. Once they are achieved, they will list currencies, and will lose a lot of profits if you do not include a currency such as Bitcoin (Proof of Work)

About POS you can search for DEX that based on ETH only or that lists a few coins/tokens but its rarely to find exchange that not listing bitcoin.
