INDEPENDENCE DAY RAFFLE #7

Happy 74th Independence Day everyone! It's been 73 years since we received Independence and to commemorate this day, here is a special raffle being conducted! The #7 raffle should have been started in July, but since there was scarce participation which made the extension of June Raffle it's postponed to August. The #8 Raffle would be conducted in September only if the current raffle finishes off before the first week of September.

Talks apart, the crypto market has been going through various a wild ride for the past couple of months starting from June. Just to quote a little : DeFi is trending and we are experiencing a mirror image of 2017 bull run! Shitcoins are pumping again, Ethereum touching 2 year high and of course scams are trying to prove themselves as legit projects  :D I hope everyone are enjoying this wild crypto ride and I also believe this will bring in new members to ever growing small community of local board posters. As of today, the price is around $11,800 ~ ₹8,80,000 per bitcoin.

As I have already said in the ANN topic, these fun lotteries will be hosted each month and the rules are same as the previous. With the January cooling period coming to an end as of July, @sureshnsnet can start participating in these raffles starting from this month until they win another.

About the Game :

1. This is a pretty simple and quite interesting game, where there would be 16 spots from 0-9 and a-f. Each person should pick one character and post in the reply of this topic along with their bitcoin address.

2. Once all the 16 spots are filled, I will choose one single future block to be mined. For instance person X has chosen '8' as their spot and I have chosen block #643887. Here the hash of the block #643887 is 0000000000000000000f56f8272ebea893f3bbc257a84f919ff46b8972ecd0c8 which determines that 8 is the winning character.

3. The person who has chosen the correct character wins the prize amount of 0.001BTC (Please note that 0.001BTC is kinda cheaper but in terms of our economy it costs around 880 INR which is much better)

As per rules, they are mostly the same as followed in the previous raffle topics

Rules :

1. The game is strictly restricted only to Indian forum members. If you are someone outside India or hailing from nearby countries like Bangladesh, Pakistan or Sri Lanka, you are not allowed to participate in this game.

2. Previous raffle/lottery winners cannot participate in the upcoming games for 6 months. Let us give others a chance to win some bitcoins. You can consider this 6 months as a cooling period like if some X has won the game in February, they can participate only in the September raffle. Our local community is so small such that I have reduced the period to 6 months. If in future, we rise up to one of the most populated local boards I might change the rule such that the game winners cannot participate in the upcoming lotteries for over a year.

3. There are 16 spots and only 1 slot per person is allowed and more importantly I cannot give you any random spots. Once I have updated the slot in OP, there is no changing of slot numbers. Please see to the filled spots in OP/ have an eye on picked up spots by others before posting your slot number in reply.

4. Newbies are allowed to participate, but you shouldn't have made your first post in this topic and You might have been a old guy but isn't really an active poster.

5. This topic is only for playing the game and all the other discussions and doubts regarding the raffle or future game ideas should be posted only in the Indian Raffle Discussion (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5213474.0) topic.

6. Bounty Hunters are not allowed to participate in the game. Even though if you are from India, the board doesn't need bounty hunters who are chiming here only for profits or earning money from this forum.

It is amazing that Indian members are not interested in participating in a FREE raffle which is worth INR 800 approximately. I think from next time onwards @Heisenberg_Hunter you start taking a joining fee.

Three spots are still open any takers?

2 -
4 -
6 -

It has been more than a month now guys!

Still we need two more members to complete the reffle 7 and I hope the raffle 7 will be going end soon.

The reason of doing it free is that more and more people come to this group thread and join it. So, this will lead to more of participation and communication in other threads as well. And just consider that being free it is taking time and imagine if you make it chargeable then it may take more than double the time than it takes now to fill it.

Yeah you are correct, I guess we just do not have enough members in this board. I only can see few active members here or we do not have a lot of Indians in this forum do not know but, the state we are in I thought there would have been more participation. It has been more than a month now and still we have two position vacant.

Keep it up and keep contributing to this forum and this board. From a long-term perspective, be regular and posts the best without always anticipating of winning or being getting rewarded for it. Those things will automatically fall in place if you contribute in this forum and share the knowledge.

Thanks @ragavancoin for announcing the winner and congrats @madhavsinghrajput for winning this month raffle. Will PM @DarkStar_ by today for the payment.

Now let’s see if we have another Raffle now in Oct and when does it starts. Thanks for this Raffle.
The raffle will continue until the amount in escrow lasts and definitely a raffle will be launched in a special historical date of October. Keep speculating the dates and also keep an eye on the main India board.

Apologize for being a little late on announcing the winners as I have been quite busy for past couple of months and don't really have much time to dedicate for the forum as I did in the beginning of this year and whole of past year. @madhavsinghrajput has been one of the promising newbies we have seen this year who was interested more on the technicalities of Bitcoin rather than trading.

Bitcoin is our country has been travelling in a bad light (trading, scams) right from the start and I hope sometime in future this will surely change gradually. Trading shitcoins and Bitcoin alone for the sake of taking immediate profits will never increase the standard of Bitcoin in India and we need more and more researches to be carried out along with few other innovations in various fields of Bitcoin like Mining, major stores accepting BTC rather than shitty INR etc.

~ shitty INR etc.

Prior to 2016, I would hv disagreed with you; primarily cause of the faith I have in the working parameters of the RBI and not the govt. However a bunch of recent actions have cast aspersions on their working and capability.

Sadly confidence in the govt has been in the downturn for long and seems to be so in coming future as well.

The foundation for bitcoin in India had not been a technical one to begin with. It was the goto "jugaad" after demonetization and all the "talk" about black money by the new Govt. I know such people who bought tens of bitcoin back then and sold the ATH. A 'community' hasn't really developed even today because Indians are not interested in putting time and effort into something that they cannot outdo. Most Indian devs are quick to realize that the primary work on bitcoin has been done. If they want to outdo or outshine, they will have to stick to new projects. That is why you will see quite a lot of Indian developers and Indians in Alt-coins.

When it comes to bitcoin, i think stacking is the thing we can do best for now as other parts of the world have strongly taken over the bitcoin momentum. Look at the SEA communities and companies declaring bitcoin holdings.

Out of all the "Indian developers in alt-coins" as you say, how many do you think would be contributing towards open source ?

I believe that all those people who are contributing towards bitcoin core are doing it because they want to do it. They believe in it and that's what makes them contribute more towards bitcoin.
We all know most of the people are behind money and may be the "Indian developers in alt-coins" think that there's not much money in contributing towards bitcoin core and that's why they aren't in it.

There must be some Indians who are still contributing in bitcoin core. It's just a matter of priorities I guess.
