Title: I have shared about bitcoin on my class
Post by: Pffrt on August 29, 2020, 04:18:57 PM
I'm having an MBA degree on Marketing. Due to COVID19, we are having classes online. However, we had a term paper submission and presentation on "Deceptive Advertising". I have selected the freebitco advertisement and had presented their Bait and Switch method to attract newbies to have click on their site.
The advertisement is- "Win $200 bitcoin per hour" which I think totally a deceptive advertising. Through this, I was able to give a little hints about bitcoin among my fellow mates and my teacher. I felt lucky when teacher asked me what bitcoin is actually after my presentation, I gave a short answer to them.
This was really great achievement of me, it may not be to you. I feel lucky if I get a chance to talk about bitcoin among my country men.

This is a cool concept to talk about, many people really seem to have no idea how easy somescams are to spot, yet, there's not much content out there about how to spot it. Kudos to you and good luck!

I tried this once but take a note that I am not from marketing related course. I am an education student major in English however I can still manage to trade here and do crypto related jobs because I have the skills when it comes to marketing strategies because I do online selling also. Then once I tried to share to my classmates what I am doing just to let them to earn also but no one believed in me because they thought that trading here is a scam.

I recently shared my knowledge of bitcoin with an environmental leader in my village. incidentally his son is a friend of mine who is currently joining me in the crypto space, he is a graduate of informatics. Initially, my friend's parents were afraid because their child was involved in crypto (thought cryptocurrency was a scam with a ponzy scheme). By utilizing words such as bounty, free coins, and being able to make money without material loss, the parents slowly opened their minds and allowed their children to remain in the crypto room, even asking me to teach others (in my environment) about bitcoin technology. , also about the advantages and disadvantages of investing with bitcoin. bitcoin investment with capital from the bounty proceeds, it turns out to be a good start to introduce bitcoin for beginners here.

Well done - hopefully your short explanation of what Bitcoin is wasn't Deceptive Advertising :P

While it feels great to explain blockchain or Bitcoin stuff to people, I kinda feel exhausted especially as it's still hard to have people understand what you're talking about. On the other hand, what is truly surprising is that a high percentage of the people I talk with about Bitcoin actually become interested in it after a while. But I'd surely love to have a BTC presentation at one point in my life.

It's rare. That's great.
Most won't have the courage to do it.
Just use normal things to share which normal people do. (As they say it)

Being different is something great and only a few know that. Now you shared to them something new and different and I bet they are now browsing their way to google and there may be odds one of your classmates is signing up in this forum right now.  ;D

It's interesting that your teachers did not know about it.

Bitcoin really is a popular subject for a thesis in economics and finances, even math. They must have been living under a rock for the last few years ;)

Anyway, good job on getting them engaged and spreading the word!

I'm glad to see that this was received well and with little skepticism.

As from my experience when I try to tell people about it I get 2 kinds of people, people who look the other way and remain stubborn at their own ignorance and the other people who genuinely look interested and want to learn, some which even consider buying.

I'm always pleased when people are open to learning new concepts and embrace knowledge generally! Glad you had such a positive experience.

There are still many people in my country who didn't know bitcoin even those who are doing business or in finance industry didn't considered crypto as a investment or form of money due to it's volatility and fears that it will be no good for long term plans. Only those who are risk taker or probably have time or curious to know it will find way to study it. Or maybe good marketing can get their attention like OP did. It's nice that the teacher got curious,it will also get the attention of other students to adopt or atleast try buying bitcoin.

Nice job if you have shared what bitcoin is to your fellow classmates and even to your teacher. Being a student before, we're the ones that were taught about things and life. But in your case, you've just shared what bitcoin is to your teacher.

Not all teachers are like those who are open to know and ask about bitcoin. And anyone who's asking about it, you can give an answer as long as they want to know it what really it is.

Interesting way of showing people what Bitcoin is and what Bitcoin is not))) Good example really to clarify people starting from something deceptive and after this to give the good explanation what is the real thing. May I ask you - have your teacher understood what the Bitcoin is? And what his reaction was after that? Because my father, for example, do not want even to try to listen about BTC and crypto. He does not believe that something like this is possible and that it really works and Blockchain is not the myths, but our nowadays reality)) so really interesting to read about your teacher's reaction

Obviously many people don't want to listen, because of what scammer has done to some people that follow back door in crypto currency,it took me some months to make them to understand, and how they can benefit from bitcoin, if they follow the right procedure.

Op you have done well in choosing something related to bitcoin for your advert assignment and your teacher has developed interest too which is very nice. The interest is willingly and that is the best way to educate somebody about cryptocurrency and bitcoin.

So basically you've thought them that most of crypto related activities and marketing strategies are often deceptive? :D lol. But you're right, some platform tends to have a ridiculous offer in which some successfully pulled things off yet some are tagged as scams with such deceptive advertising.

What else have you thought them? I hope you've only told them what is the basics of Bitcoin and blockchain, or crypto in general, and not this forum. Some people might be doubtful most likely on how to earn in here and that's an issue we keep dealing and dealing in the Beginners and Help board.

And I've also remembered that some on my collegiate friends had used crypto as their research if our country or the local university is aware with such technology or not. AFAIK, lecturing others is the best feeling especially if you would share an innovative knowledge like the crypto and Bitcoin per se (to also prevent them with the false ideology that crypto is a scam)

There’s a lot of deceptive marketing strategy especially on a scam projects and i think this can be consider like that. Well, its good that you have an opportunity to share bitcoin on your class and I hope that you will not mislead them and hopefully they’ll understand bitcoin.

How old is your marketing teacher? It is very strange that he has not heard anything about bitcoin and cryptocurrencies before, while being (and even teaching others) in the field of marketing. At our Institute of Economics, all departments know exactly what cryptocurrencies are and most of them know how to use them, and some even trade.

That was a good opportunity not only on your side but also for this community. We all know that there are lots of deceptive advertising that happens, it is their way to scam more people. But that's a good way to change what and how they think about bitcoin. This way, they will at least have to know about bitcoin in a positive way.

Trueeee. It really feels good sharing some knowledge of yours to some people but it gets tiring as the time passes when they start to check their phones while you are talking them, it gets me frustrated every time but I can't blame them because of their personal interest.

On the other hand, what is truly surprising is that a high percentage of the people I talk with about Bitcoin actually become interested in it after a while. But I'd surely love to have a BTC presentation at one point in my life.
It's not for me, they just always ask what's with bitcoin and other coins, what they commonly asks to me is if it is really profitable, how they can gain money from it, is there no money involve ( like wtf ), and so on. I'm studying in a technology school, there was a time that I attended a blockchain conference, I expected it to be technical enough for me to understand but it was just an introduction, it seems like even my professors are having hard time to understand what it really is, I think the age is a factor here somehow.

Thanks for sharing your experience.
I would also tell any of the people around me about Bitcoin and also guide them to get involved in the crypto space.

Once we manage to convince people that there are other ways of looking at money at that time, we will gain more Bitcoin users.

Though in case of freebitco, they are not a scam site and just to correct a lil bit about the advertisement from freebitco's site -
It says, win up to $200 in free bitcoins, so it is not the "Win $200 bitcoin per hour" as the OP presented. They have a lil bit of difference in meaning here. Anyway, we really see a lot of false advertisements everywhere, bonuses or rewards from casinos with certain requirements that they don't disclose outright. But to avoid these situations, trapped in a false advertisement, first make sure that you are visiting a legit website and not a potential phishing website. Because most legit websites will really give what is offered but of course it entails certain requirements to accomplished before getting such reward.

This way is necessary, especially to introduce Bitcoin and other cryptos to the general public. So that they can at least know in advance about Bitcoin and crypto. And if there is interest, at least they want to get to know it better. I appreciate the way you introduce this to your friends and teacher in class.

... The advertisement is- "Win $ 200 bitcoin per hour" which I think is totally a deceptive advertising. Through this, I was able to give a little hints about bitcoin among my fellow mates and my teacher. I ...
This is the main attraction.
However, it would be better if introducing them to how Bitcoin is, its advantages and also its risks. And how are the systems and conditions in the crypto world in general. This may be explained to them later or further. So that they know Bitcoin or other cryptocurrencies not only related to the rewards or income they might get.
It is important to introduce the risks that may occur to them, including the existence of a scam.
Because, if they only focus on the rewards they can get, I'm afraid they'll just think about it. And they start looking for such sites or channels that give gifts in the form of Bitcoin or other cryptocurrencies.
The worry here is that they might get caught in the scams. Currently, there are so many websites, social media, and YouTube channels that scams in such a way that it attracts many newbies. they were deceived because they had to make a deposit first and their money was lost by the scammers.

You may have explained this to them too. Or if not, this seems like it needs to be explained. for anyone who is interested in the next, must be informed about this.

But beyond that, really, easy and simple steps like what you gave to your friends are very helpful to spread or introduce crypto especially Bitcoin to more people.
good luck.
I personally have also started to do it, in a simple way for each of us.

Good job, that little effort of yours could contribute to the adoption in the space, who knows these people you are educating might be interested and with the little information you gave to them, it will lead them to do more research to know more about bitcoin and they will eventually adopt.

You should be proud of yourself, we are proud of you as well as that's what we should do to help the adoption of the market as this is just for our own good. This really tells us that only few people knows about bitcoin and it's good to know that they know not coming from the scammers or those who are using bitcoin for ponzi scheme investment scams.

I hope they won't be turn of if they know that this...

Quote
"Win $200 bitcoin per hour"

doesn't exist.

So did this give a negative view of bitcoin to the class? I guess I'm a little confused by what you're saying exactly.

Nonetheless I thin it's awesome that you've brought bitcoin in to a "situation" where you were given the opportunity to teach people about it whom likely otherwise would not have learned about it any other way.  I recently did the same thing on a work call.  We all had to introduce ourselves and then describe a new piece of technology were are using ( a warm up exercise of sorts).  I talked about using bitcoin and got a lot of great reaction.

Though the concept is good upon teaching your fellow countrymen but giving advertisement I think that is too early for them. Firstly, you should share the function of Bitcoin and how it uses, the blockchain technology, how useful it is. Freebitco.in ad isn't bad but I think that is gambling, you don't know it might gambling was prohibited by them.

Overall, that's a great initiative of yours, you have the courage to teach them without expecting in any exchange. Well, congrats for your achievements, I hope they understand by now the usage of Bitcoin.

Freebitcoin isn't really a scam unless they don't come through with that Lambo they promised. All they saying is that they giving away up to $200 an hour. It could be $0.50 and still be "up to" it would only have to go up to $200 once in order to be true. So many advertisers use this sort of thing. It is because it's hard to keep up with the competition making all these promoses.

Look at internet hosting. They often sell "unlimited" hosting. It's not really unlimited.

Freebitco advertisement is not a deceptive ad. You really can win up to $200 worth of bitcoin on playing and rolling dice on their sites. Well it's a great advertisement strategy. Catchy. But you know that they are legitimate one. It's good to know that you're spreading your knowledge from bitcoin. Keep it up!

For you, it is a huge achievement indeed to share anything about Bitcoin to many people. What's better is that you got a positive comments from them.

If I can just express myself and teach somebody regarding Bitcoin then I will do it. Unfortunately for some reasons I can't teach somebody about Bitcoin even to my family. I only teach my couple about this but still I don't teach all that I know.

I just hope that more and more people like you will advertise Bitcoin to other people.

As the saying goes, people fear what they don't understand. In my country, bitcoin is popular but not well-received because people think it's another one of those pyramid scams that are rampant here. They don't understand how it works, so they make all kinds of assumptions, mostly inaccurate or totally adsurd ones. The only way to eliminate the fear of getting into crypto is to make them understand what's it for and how it works. So, you did the right thing.

you have done a nice bridging to introduce bitcoin  ;D
however, I wonder how did you give a short answer to them.
because this is a common problem to educate people about bitcoin with a short explanation.

based on my experience, I prefer to tell people about bitcoin by analogized it into real-life things.
what Andrew K. Courey in the past is a good example for me.
he explained bitcoin in his book, Early Bird Gets The Bitcoin: The Ultimate Guide To Everything About Bitcoin  ;D

This was a great move on educating other people about the real essence and importance of Bitcoin existence and surely they have something in mind that they become amazed for learning new things that surely gave them better understanding about Bitcoin.

Maybe FBC didn't phrase that thing correctly, but rest assured they aren't unintentionally using B&S just to attract users.

Correct term as some have mentioned is "Win up to $200 every hour", because there's a dedicated thread on rewarding winners that manage to roll 9,998 - 10,000.

Also, why B&S when they're one of the top faucets there?

Good choice OP right now sure there are a lot of them getting curious how they can possibly earn with this platform but still you already makes an introduction with the use of the bitcoin by the time comes they will ask a lot of question-related on it so this is your responsibility to guide them too.

It is better at the early as possible we enlighten most of the students that could possibly use to make additional earning with this bitcoin but still, they need to have proper knowledge and guide right now. So in the future, they become dependent and do not need to borrow some money from their parents too.

Because of different scams the image of the bitcoin becomes bad and this is not good. Just quite thing most of the people on our house or the elders does not want to make part of it because they scared on this investment

That's really impressive, and best of luck on the presentation you're gonna give to your class in the upcoming days. Myself too experienced a luck to eloborate about bitcoin. This took place in an group discussion round of an interview. By the time I spoke about cryptocurrencies, very few understood it. What's their reaction then? It's a good move to let others now that Bitcoin is useful in many ways and that you can use it during your project. It's somehow full filling when we able to give help or convince others to try crypto since still many were no idea on how it works.
During this Pandemic I started to teach some colleagues to use crypto for transferring payments and those some who are really curious also ask on how to earn from it, so I'm also trying to teach or atleast give some references in how they can learn trading. We need to point out also the pros and cons of earning from it so they will not expect too much, to keep them safe and away from any scam or ponzi schemes appearing everywhere.

My cousin did the same 2 yaers ago.

She said that she will be presenting a speech and the basis of the grade depends on how the topic of the speech is interesting and how it is delivered. I gave her the idea of having the topic about Bitcoin and maybe other cryptocurrencies. She said that her teacher loved the topic since it is presented in the class without anyone knowing what is it but the delivery of it is kind of bad since she is really a shy individual. I just want to know what their reaction upon teaching you about bitcoin, how they give a response to it.

This is a good deed to bitcoin and the community if everyone will like this. The population that I guess has the interest in bitcoin will grow for sure. But I'm just curious why OP advertise the name of Freebitco.in gambling site, is because he wanted to them to collect the free bitcoin that Freebitco.in has or just a gambling habit purpose. Whatever it is, only OP knows the sole purpose of it.

I'm glad to hear people talking like this, I hope everyone does the same.

A lot of my friends have already invested in the BTC market inspired by me. we should all works from our respective place for the spread of Bitcoin. Keep it up.

I don't have any experience in marketing, but when sharing stories about Bitcoin with other people. I was lucky that most of
them were immediately enthusiastic about learning Bitcoin more deeper, maybe we explain it in easy language understood by
ordinary people, and also we explain information about Bitcoin with honesty. I'm sure can make them all become interested in
Bitcoin.

My sister just got admission in MBA and she was having bitcoin as a hobby written in her Resume and was asked a lot of times about bitcoin and what you do with it and more things about bitcoin by her interviewers and they were impressed by her performance and answers that they asked, i guess bitcoin is gaining a lot of interest in the business and finance world where the experts are also becoming more aware about the blockchain and bitcoin in general, but the government as usual is trying to keep bitcoin on the dark side whereas adapting to blockchain technology in many industries.

It is good that you have found people who listen to you explaining to them about Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies. In my country no one knows anything about this field and when I try to explain to them they meet me rejecting the idea and questioning its validity. Currently, I am trying to prove my point and the validity of my belief in Bitcoin, and I hope that the information about cryptocurrencies in my country will spread better.

This is a great job experience that you able to share your knowledge about Bitcoin to your teacher and classmate. Good to know they are open minded to this kind of discussion because not all people are open ears to listen about cryptocurrency. As I remember when I shared some information to my friends about bitcoin they simply judge ”bitcoin as Ponzi scheme”. So through you, you have spread information about what bitcoin is.

As a student and an investor, I believe that bitcoin adoption can really happen at any time and any place. He didn't waste that opportunity to share to the class the importance and advantages of bitcoin, and why does it exists in the market. We all have dreams for our future and I'm hoping that students will include bitcoin in their success.

Hopefully, they make this bitcoin as their stepping stone to achieve their goals in life sooner.

That is wonderful way to share about Cryptocurrencies. That is also how we got to present on how we can learn more about Bitcoin and even Blockchain Technology. Its still actually scary to see "Free Bitcoin" advertisements since it can really break peoples trust in learning about something new. Their impression will be filled with disgust and scared to even learn about it.

I wouldn't say that's the worse example of deceptive marketing. That site gives you just that: a chance to win $200 every hour. It doesn't say "earn" or "get". The "win" implies a chance, and it's provably fair at that.

Pretty sure if you get a job with that MBA you'll be coming up with a lot more deceptive copy for your employer;)

I did share some of my experiences investing in bitcoin with my students but I think most of them are busy enjoying their youth or enjoying their junior and senior high lives. Some are interested but can't actually afford to invest since they can't even buy their own shoes. Some of my co-teachers though invested in some exchanges and sadly, some of them got scammed.

An open-minded and a business-minded person will really prevail and become successful in the future.

Sharing this unique and unfamiliar topic to the class is an intelligent and wise decision to do to let people understand how bitcoin works and what bitcoin actually is. This is the best time for you to seize the opportunity to share and advertise about what bitcoin can do to an individual. There are a lot of information that they want to know if they are willing to invest and adopt on bitcoin.

I graduated from the university a long time ago. During all the time of my studies (marketing was also one of the disciplines), no one said even a word about cryptocurrencies. Because practically nothing was known about them or known to a very narrow circle of people. This is due, of course, to the fact that I live in a developing country, but not a developed one. And all new trends and technologies come to us with a great delay.

-snip-. , also about the advantages and disadvantages of investing with bitcoin. bitcoin investment with capital from the bounty proceeds, it turns out to be a good start to introduce bitcoin for beginners here.
Good start, with free capital from bounty and airdrop campaigns. But it should also be noted that bounty and airdrop campaigns do not always give good results, many scam projects will ultimately not pay or tokens that cannot be sold. that is the risk of becoming a bounty hunter.

I also started as a bounty hunter and got a lot of capital to start investing and trading.

The introduction of Bitcoin must also be accompanied by the advantages and risks it has. sharing information about Bitcoin can be done anywhere, not just in the class like the OP did. around the environment we can do it too. But all comes back to each individual, whether you want to know more deeply or not.

Did they use the word (bold) specifically? If yes then you have successfully changed the mind of a doubter. I am pretty sure your teacher heard about bitcoin before your presentation but it was not good thing about it. After hearing about it from you, he started to find the good side about it and hence he emphasized on the word "actually".

Well done!

It was really clever for you to do that right in front of your online students. I've just realized that this path of telling others about bitcoin is helpful. Social media sites are full of advertisements about bitcoin. Facebook comments are bombarded by people spamming about how one can earn about bitcoin. So it was really helpful for them—even if they are not interested about bitcoin—to understand these scams and fake advertisements. It will keep them safe from it.

It was also a way of telling them that not all people into bitcoin are trying to scam you. You are making them feel safe about the technology. You admit that there are scams, but it can be easily prevented by anyone. You said your prof asked what is bitcoin right. I think it can be the best way, instead of you telling them about bitcoin without even mentioning about the scams.

Asking that question shows that your teacher really wants to know what bitcoin is all about. He/she might have heard it in the past. So many people do not have an understanding of what it is but you jump into the conclusion that it is a scam or an investment scheme. I believe with time the bitcoin will be more discussed in an institution and public places and will change the orientation of the people especially those that have a biased mind towards the crypto and blockchain technology

It happened to me a lot since I have a knowledge about bitcoin sometimes I put bitcoin or cryptocurrency in the topic. And then most of the time my teacher ask me what is bitcoin etc. and then I end up explaining the bitcoin to the whole class. I think a lot of people or even professionals doesn't really have knowledge about bitcoin, bitcoin is not yet ready as an online currency and it is still in the progress of adaptation. A lot of people don't trust bitcoin-like my professor because it is just digital and doesn't have a physical form and he says that you are just investing in something that is imaginary meaning anytime you could lose it. I think he has a point but in my experience on the market supply and demand works.

Totally agree,  Most of the time there is no way you could pursue them into bitcoin because every news about bitcoin are evolving scam also a lot of people in the community don't like digital thing because it is just so easy to lost money online and you don't have control in it, most of the time people who'd go into paper or fiat money because they have the assurance in it and it is produced by the government, etc.

What needed here is to continue the bitcoin adoption when bitcoin is already popular and a lot of people is gonna get a chance to try it, when they already have experience in it they will finally going to understand bitcoin and cryptocurrency.

I salute the OP for making such spot light on sharing about Bitcoin for it is a small step yet a big action towards better understanding about Bitcoin specially to those who were just new from it.

I wish I have the opportunity as yours to tell the whole class as well about crypto space and not just Bitcoin.
OP has that passion and he never thinks in a hard way to teach people around even if it was just ignored but he has noticed that it is effective and sees an interesting story for the listener. I know that not all of us have that sort of enlightenment and courage to waste their time and effort but he has. It depends on you if you tried it and see the results.

Not like they care anyway on what Bitcoin is, they'll just surely shrug it off as a scam and an illegal coin used in the deep web.
That's quite funny of a deceptive advertising actually.
I would write for my own as "Tutorial on how to earn from Bitcoin, double your quarter now"  :D :D :D
But meh. No one cares about crypto in my class.
If you already think about the negative, seeing less effective, it for sure you won't succeed because in the first place, you are already not happy and you are also expecting that no one will listen to you and care about it. If you want to teach and promote crypto into any person, you better change your mindset first and turn it into a positive.

Did they use the word (bold) specifically? If yes then you have successfully changed the mind of a doubter. I am pretty sure your teacher heard about bitcoin before your presentation but it was not good thing about it.
It doesn't seem like she had heard about bitcoin before, may be she had but had no good idea about it. I have tried my level best to present what bitcoin is in reality despite all the fud going around. It would be a good discussion if the class was on any finance related subject.

And that's not false, you *can* win. You likely won't, but every lottery can be won, at tinier chances. Not really off topic as the discussion is whether or not that's deceptive marketing and I agree it is on a certain level. It's a matter of language in the end, the subtleties of "can", "may" and "will" at least;)
The sentence doesn't say you can win rather it says WIN only which clearly indicates a deceptive method to attract noobs.

Does your teacher ask you about what is freebitco? and how bitcoin can be used on casino.. Your teacher might be want to get free bitcoin on freebitco and start to gamble there.. Great effort to show what is bitcoin in front of all your classmate. Spreading about what is bitcoin and help others to understand is a good thing.

I appreciate your efforts. At least you kept your role on bitcoin adoption somehow by sharing with your classmates and teacher. Especially, you did a great job by make curiosity your teacher about the bitcoin. Because if you could convince your teacher and he enters on bitcoin somehow then he would keep a role in bitcoin adoption since many people follow their step.

Anyway, don't forget about your own security and privacy. If bitcoin is illegal in your country then take are when you are sharing in online something about  Bitcoin.

This was a really clever way to introduce bitcoin to your class, instead of introducing bitcoin directly trying to make them invest in the coin you have done so indirectly and by doing it in this way this does not create resistance against the idea of bitcoin itself, keep doing this and I'm sure that more than one will begin to ask questions about bitcoin and the only thing that you need to do is to answer them in an honest way, after all it is not as if we need to deceive people to enter in this market when the advantages are so obvious to us.

Very cool, man. This year I have my final paper as well and I'm thinking of incorporating blockchain and/or cryptocurrencies. I still have time to plan, but I'm really passionate about this and like you I would be very glad to teach my fellow colleagues about the currency that has already changed the financial system as we know it. :)

If I will be given a chance then I will not hesitate to do the same to what you did because we are giving a hint here about the future currencies that we are going to use as a replacement for fiat.

Wow, this is a nice thing to do. Congrats for presenting your topic well!

Being able to share your knowledge about bitcoin is a really great achievement for me too, since only a few know what bitcoin is. Most of the people just knew the superficial things about it. Some even don’t know that it exists. And lots of people assume it’s a kind of scam and nest for dangerous and criminal activities.

I think it’s really nice for us to impart what we know to other people, so they won’t be ignorant of things. It would be great if each member in our growing community spread bitcoin awareness from time to time, even if it’s just on some brief conversation with colleagues, peers, classmates, and workmates. In this way, we can help them understand what we are doing and what are the benefits of bitcoin to their chosen career/path. By doing this, we can also help our crypto community to become bigger and widely known.

there is really something after cash  . there is this digital currencies which for sure they already know but those digital currency does not mean that its already a crypto but crypto can rank farther to them.  this is why people arent aware and concern individuals are always welcome to introduce it to them .  you did a good job there and op too . inserting  crypto/bitcoin talks on what we do is better and theres a big chance that people will listen than explaining it to them directly .

I really respect what the OP did. This is what I do too, I talk to my friends and family about bitcoin. But I would never push them to learn it. I would always warn them about bitcoin scams, because they are prone to it. Bitcoin scams are now all around the social media, some will DM you and there are a lot of spam comments too. They deserve to know what to believe and what to ignore.

Somehow they are getting informed about the bitcoin too, I'm trying to tell that there are a lot of people doing btc scams and they are thankful for it. Once they ask more about the technology, I'll try to explain it in the most simple way. I share how I'm earning with it and how it help me. Once they understand how it works it will be easier for them to visualize it.

I hope you share to them what Bitcoin really is and how does it work.

indeed at first it is not as easy as expected because it will confuse them and need patience, but gradually they will realize and understand because bitcoin will benefit them.

Each of us here spread the word in some way. I speak about bitcoin with people who are interested to hear about it, and I like to discuss about bitcoin with them. In most cases its me talking and they listen and ask questions, most of the questions are simple ones with negative context. I am only among my close friends that is active with crypto, I had numerous discussions with them and even after 5 years they don't fully understand what I talk about, and often happens that I repeat some things over and over again because they can't remember even simple stuff. Well I'm no discouraged, I will keep trying to share the story as long as people are willing to spend some time listening, and if they wish to get more involved they will have my help.

lol that's a sly way of getting people to know what bitcoin is. About the shady advertising, there'll unfortunately be a lot of it, but that's part and parcel of businesses looking to ride a trend and make a quick buck. Long term it's always honest communication that builds trust and business.

I hope they'll just stop being curious about Bitcoin but to have the interest to dig more and understand.  Teaching Bitcoin and any crypto-related topics in the class are really challenging in a part that some people have a negative approach and thinking about Bitcoin. But OP makes it and absolutely he has an influential skill that could able to change people's mindset and succeed in what he plans for.

Perhaps, it may and may not be deceptive at all, since it is a gambling site, there's really a possibility for it to happen. But let's not dig deeper into that, I would like to congratulate you to have the courage to talk about bitcoin in your class as it was really hard especially if they will ask you too many question about it. But what is important is that, you have opened up their curiosity to what bitcoin is, so anytime, they will search for it and might bought some.

All things have some good and bad side. Yeah, there are some people who use bitcoin for various criminal activities. Again, many people lost their BTC for scams. But there are many good sides of BTC. We can sell bitcoin without divulging any sensitive financial information, bitcoin has no risk of inflation and the most useful and important things is, its transaction fee is lower than any other digital money or credit/debit card.

In addition to this I believe its a good idea to dig into the practical aspect of using Bitcoin after being taught about it, practical aspect of opening a wallet, learning how to send the coin and how to receive it, this will go a long way in helping newbies to grasp the whole concept or benefit of using Bitcoin and practice makes perfect.
The OP had really imparted some knowledge to the class its now left for the student involved in the session to dig further by putting those lessons into reality by practicing it further and he should also try and erase the impression of some classmates who might have link bitcoin to scam or being used by some scrupulous individuals to perpetuate criminal activities.

Or just a Bitcoin clone from scratch, even from the exact same client that was first fired up (which had poker too, by the way!) and possibly reimagining the way it was first done, like the way Patoshi has been doing to unearth new evidence from the early blocks. Might not make everyone understand it but would certainly have piqued my interest in school!

Your professor, next time when he sees anything about scamming involving bitcoin or crypto currencies like scam exchange or shit coins, the first thing he is going to remember is you and the example that you gave about freebitco trying to bait people to click on their site. He is going to have a bad impression about bitcoin.
Nevertheless, you did a good job trying to make people aware about crypto currencies.

his prof wont take it seriously but it was only an example because its part of thier class project about deceptive marketing  . from the word deceptive means to fool people or something like that  . this is different from scamming because its only a kind of marketing to be able to attract people . people can still expect to get something in return upon  trying the offer like for example on freebitco , you can really won a 200 dollar from thier free faucet it you are verry lucky because the chance is only small .

Each person is different and will learn thing at their own rhythm, in my case as soon as I found out that bitcoin existed and I read more about it I convinced myself it was the future and I immediately got in and bought a little bit of bitcoin, but there are many people that need to think things through and be really convinced and there is nothing wrong with that, what we need to avoid is that people come to this market only for the money because most likely they will be scammed and then they will blame bitcoin for it even if they were the ones responsible of falling in that scam.

Yeah it does give that kind of achievement inside that you do able to widespread the awareness of bitcoins existence. This might be a small step but it does really matter.

So far i have told my classmate about it and following it up with some videos on youtube or even giving that Btc wp directly to understand that abstract line.

Though you did absolutely well to bring the good gospel of Bitcoin to your college mates. For the freebit gambling casino you just said, isn't a scam advertisement because they have been into the system for long and their records still intact. In the advertisement, they never said play to win $200 rather play "maybe you can stand a chance to win or not". Many gambling casinos with advertisement are found doing this all the time to ensure new members are lured into the gambling platform to win such huge reward.

I am like that as well, I could explain bitcoin to people but for the most part they believe you are trying to sell them something as if you are standing something to gain by promoting bitcoin to them and they do not listen, and since most people do not really have knowledge at all about how the economy works then you need to explain that too if you want them to understand why we need something like bitcoin, and even if you do that most people cannot believe the economy works in such a way as it seems completely unfair to them, and it is such an uphill battle that for the most part I gave up trying to talk about bitcoin to people unless they show an interest in it by themselves.

You have shared about bitcoin in your class. It is a good development. I am a teacher also & also have good experience of business presentation. I had also done some networking business in the past and remained a team leader. Now I am in the cryptocurrency business. I often brief and guide my followers about bitcoin and cryptocurrency. Good experience, indirectly you can attract the attention of people who don't know about crypto and give a belief or confidence so that they can also join in crypto because crypto is not as bad as people usually think. The way you share experiences about crypto seems to be conveyed in an interesting way so that they are curious, this is a good thing.

I am very happy that your sharing is useful.
But if you explain to a person who always treats Bitcoin as a scam that Bitcoin is not a scam, you will find that no matter how you explain it, they will follow their ideas. Your explanation is useless. I once talked with a friend for half an hour, and he remained indifferent, just believing that Bitcoin is a scam. I can't do anything about it. He doesn't believe me to let him watch me operate the transaction.

If your friend has research on investment, you can let him try cryptocurrency, let him operate and feel himself. If your friend is not interested in investing, he will not believe it no matter how much you explain. We don’t have to make everyone like Bitcoin.

This is a very good initiative and an interesting one too.

May i ask, when you told people you can earn $200 in bitcoin per hour, didn't they ask how can we earn this amount? Some maybe disappointed to know that they cant earn this much ?
It seems like the whole class including the teacher doesn't know bitcoin at all or any cryptocurrencies, the OP used the term hint so probably it was their first time hearing about it especially the teacher or professor. There's still a lot of people that isn't still knowledgeable about bitcoin nor they know it was already existed for more than a decade now that's why we're among the lucky ones to know about this and I think we ought to share this among to people close to us that we think that might get interested into it. Surely, bitcoin touched our lives in a very good way to make our daily living more comfortably, and we shouldn't be selfish about that knowledge.

Introducing bitcoin or cryptocurrency in school, to your students or co-teachers is really a great privilege to educate them and help them understand what bitcoin really and how to invest in crypto. I also found out that many teachers still don't have knowledge about digital currency especially those who live in a remote are far from the city.

I don't like the site you promote, but the way you are trying to attract them to bitcoin, I love the idea. Now please don't mind that I said I don't like the site. It's because I don't like gambling. Sorry for that. But honestly speaking, I like your clarity. What you show in your class is that you are truly a smart teacher. I am teaching my younger brother about bitcoin. Despite the fact that he is young and has an interest in technology and tech products, I thought I should use a technique to put him in a good tech place and allow him to make better use of his time. You won't believe how much interest he has now, though I'm working on a good teaching method for him so that he can enjoy it as well. And thanks to your clever story, I might have some cool ideas for him too.

That's good, indirectly you have given a little understanding about bitcoin which not everyone knows about it. Although currently the development of bitcoin is growing rapidly and is increasingly being recognized by many people, there are still many people who don't really know about the world of bitcoin. For some people maybe talking about bitcoin will help them to understand bitcoin more than reading bitcoin in books, internet or forums like this. but besides that, providing understanding to people must also be accompanied by risks that can be obtained so that people are not easily fooled if one day they join the crypto world.

The expansion of knowledge will help every individual to understand how Bitcoin will work and help.

You are doing the right way in sharing your knowledge and by doing that you are also adding interest to this industry. It's not easy to convince

those people but giving them the idea will help them to seek for more information about this venue of business.

Allowing them to explore more and dig deeper will soon give them opportunities to enjoy the benefits.

That is great, but I think this wasn't a good idea. I mean, the media always spreads how crypto currencies and bitcoin are used for scamming people.

Yes, don't trust ads on social media too easily because now there are many scams that will harm you. Now that we have to be careful what we do, it's better if we find out about the advertisements circulating on social media so that we can get more correct information. Now what we need to do is tell our closest family first to join in the crypto world, indeed inviting someone to make us upset because not everyone is mentally strong enough to invest.

Amazing experience. That's a good thing for which you should be grateful. You can share your knowledge and experiences about crypto with people who are still not familiar with it. Even to the point of making them curious and interested in discussing it, I think this is a good thing.
There will be more people who know about Bitcoin and maybe later they will be interested in joining it so that crypto will be stronger.

The development of crypto especially bitcoin continues to grow and develop and there have been many bitcoin advertisements and also news on television about bitcoin and so on, and unfortunately they only know bitcoin without knowing more about it and its uses.
and we as bitcoin users have long taken the initiative to provide understanding to them because they only know or have heard of it but don't really understand, and most people are lazy to look for more information which is actually a lot on the internet, youtube, and others.
because i have experience when people close to me know i have been in bitcoin for a long time they come to me and want to learn or know more about bitcoin and their reasons because a lot of news and advertisements about bitcoin and some good news that bitcoin can Profitable and can also be used as a source of income and they also want to learn about blockchain, and I just tell what I know and the basics and other reasons they just want to know directly from people who have been around for a long time.
so that they can feel and know firsthand from the experiences and risks that have been experienced, and finally they are involved until now.

What you say is true, if people have a strong desire to learn and get the right information it shouldn't be difficult to understand Bitcoin.
And that's what you may experience, so for those of you learning how Bitcoin works is not that difficult. But most people know Bitcoin from
the wrong information, they sometimes read from the wrong sources. Moreover, some of the terms Bitcoin do sound unfamiliar, plus the news
that is not true from the government. Even when I first learned about Bitcoin from the internet, I was quite confused about what decentralization
and blockchain are. It took me a year to really believe in Bitcoin and first time investing in Bitcoin. Therefore I am very happy if Bitcoin is taught
in schools, because it is very good to know Bitcoin early on, so many people will understand how Bitcoin works.

I think you misunderstood what the OP said, and as matter of fact he/she isn't a teachor nor instructor. The OP is just taking an MBA degree on marketing so he/she is just using the bitcoin as a topic or subject to his/her term paper to his classmates in that specific marketing class. And he/she isn't definitely putting a pressure on them about learning bitcoin because he/she is just introducing cryptocurrencies especially bitcoin.
Surely, the OP deserves some respect for that courageous effort to somehow inform the class that there is indeed bitcoin in existence for over a decade now. So now, it's up for the OP's classmates wether they would put some effort to know about bitcoin more or not.

It is not bad to share information regarding BTC, remember that not everyone handles the information and for many people it can be something difficult to understand and especially to understand the deflationary economy that BTC represents, not everyone trusts a volatile asset or the demand that may have BTC, but if you are seeing on the news that El Salvador has adopted BTC and that it is doing very well, then there are people who do not have very clear information on it, who only handle what they see on TV, this is the Kind of people you have to spread the word about BTC.

It is really good to share your knowledge with others when those help them to lead their lives better. Surly Bitcoin is the currency for the future generation.
No matter how people react after sharing the good information, Don't give them any financial advice when you share your knowledge about Bitcoin, Just Let them enough space and time to adjust to the new thing. Show them the history and the adoption rate of Bitcoin in the institutional phase and the government phase.
But according to sharing your knowledge also aware them about scam projects and influence, most of the time after knowing about cryptocurrency newbies jumps to scam project to feed their excessive greediness. Aware them about social influence and scam projects.

As a result nowadays it is quite obvious to see more and more ways of spreading happening about bitcoin and cryptocurrencies. Without much on advertising bitcoin have grown good and reached more and more number of users through word of mouth. Now it has moved to the next level of spreading through a different process.

So at least they've ever heard the words bitcoin and crypto and have curiousity on their mind, it's already a good start to explain it eventhough they will not get it in one day explaination
I think he has found the great platform to introduce on the class room .I think it is the best place where you you can explain and student will try to realize that hoe much valuable coin and asset it is .He said that few people and even his friend has thought that you were making him fool ,its a common problem to all who are not familiar with it .We need to spread the knowledge from our own place though it will tough but we have to spread it to make huge our community and even change the people lives as well .Some of our friend really curious about it as you said but they don't have proper knowledge ,we have teach them as well .However at the its great work to teach a lesson about it if you are a teacher and also a lesson for us as well how can we spread it to the world .

Sharing your knowledge is great, but I believe that everyone in the class has heard about bitcoin and that they are already familiar with it. Even yet, it's still wonderful to share your knowledge with them because they were in need for some information and will benefit from it. What matters most to people right now is that they need a piece of advice on how to make money with bitcoin, and that's the most they'll listen to you. Sharing your knowledge is great, but I think everyone in class has heard of bitcoin and knows what it is. Even so, it's good to share your expertise with them because they were in desperate need of it.

I have told several times that there is bitcoin, what is bitcoin, what are the advantages if we enter it. But we have to accept the pros and cons of that. Honestly when talking about bitcoin in class, some people don't accept it and think it's a scam. Yes, even so we can't blame them, because maybe they have their own views. But I'm sure if they knew more, they would be interested.
some people do have their own point of view and can't be forced to like bitcoin. But if they know what bitcoin is, what cryptocurrency is they will be interested. Sharing knowledge about bitcoin will certainly be new knowledge which will certainly provide new experiences for those who are new to bitcoin. Try to explain in detail and easily about bitcoin, of course they will accept it.

I've tried to explain several times. I think the crux of the problem isn't just our explanation, but how they know, learn, and become more curious about bitcoin. In my experience, some of my friends are interested because they want to try and feel for themselves what we produce instead of bitcoin.
Then how can they feel the results, if they themselves do not want to try? In a situation like this I can't force them.

That's right, what we think is good may not necessarily be according to others too much.
Likewise about bitcoin, among me sometimes say bitcoin is still quite taboo for now because the majority in my country are still in FIAT and the property business, so when you say bitcoin to other people it will be considered as something taboo and even tends to feel weird. .
this is very reasonable actually because they still don't feel anything here because they have never been in bitcoin before.
on the other hand I feel that telling is something that is very reasonable but only for people who want to know.

A good move the author made, he has helped introduce what Bitcoin is. But in my neighborhood Bitcoin is a foreign thing from either the words of writing or advertising. Many people don't understand bitcoin, but many call them gambling. I think everyone is human resources. I once shared and taught people who were interested in bitcoin but they couldn't stand it. They don't even want to study seriously. In the end I just kept quiet, I wouldn't ask but if anyone asked then I would answer.

Of course, it is not easy to tell people about Bitcoin to people who are not familiar with Bitcoin, let alone to get them interested in Bitcoin.
Because they will think Bitcoin is weird and will probably think a little negative, it's very natural because they haven't felt the benefits of Bitcoin.
That is why it is important that we explain Bitcoin clearly and in detail, so that people understand more about Bitcoin and hopefully become
interested in Bitcoin. Then we shouldn't force other people to like Bitcoin, because it's not a good thing to force something on other people.
Our job is only to explain Bitcoin well, and after that whether the person we explain will accept it or not is no longer our concern. At least we have
tried to provide information that we think is good, but sometimes everyone's acceptance is different and we have to respect that.

All people have their own point of view. Many of classmates have already heared about BTC but if you share you knowledge with them then they will clear their concepts about Bitcoin.

Yes, I remember when I explained about bitcoin to my friends, some of them laughed at me, they seemed to think what I said was bullshit. In a situation like that, honestly I am very offended, yes maybe we have different opinions, but when they don't want to listen to what I have to say, at least they can respect other people's explanations. But in my anger, I can't do anything, I can only reply with a smile, and that might be the best way when we are dealing with people like that.

Many people today now get curious about bitcoin and its process of it. A good thing to share some knowledge and guide them because throughout now there's a lot of scams and phishing platforms its better to guide them, you already introduce them to them of course not all will get courage but still, there's someone. It's your now obligation to help and guide now again their final decision is on their side there's an instance might blame because of the down trends, of course, no one wants to lose their money instantly.

Thats great. A good strategy you got to advertise bitcoin to your teacher and your colleagues doing you this you are helping people to balance the financial life of some people. At least you have shared an important knowledge that as gone far which no one can imagine. Behind one person their are lot of people around. Your introduction won't just end with the your colleagues and teachers  but those which you introduced bitcoin to will take the information far to others.

well it's true as you said because there are still many people who don't know about bitcoin, so it gives the impression that bitcoin is dangerous and seems in a negative direction.
On the other hand, understanding bitcoin is still something that is taboo in some countries and some regions, so it would be very good when we provide extra insight to those who don't know about bitcoin, whether they want to be here or not, it's their will, the task has been done. knowing about bitcoin is telling those who don't understand after that it's up to each one

That was a good opportunity not only on your side but also for this community. We all know that there are lots of deceptive advertising that happens, it is their way to scam more people. But that's a good way to change what and how they think about bitcoin. This way, they will at least have to know about bitcoin in a positive way.
