Anyways, jokes apart, but really, BTC has been holding its values since it was invented and I believe that's the reason why it's a successful story and has also created many many success stories for all the investors (come on, you, me and every guy here would have enjoyed f**king a girl with our BTC some night). Wondering why it's just now and not two years back when they started accepting Verge.
This can represent how the adoption increases but, imo, we don't really need this kind of adoption as we know how the adult industry is made for psycho peoples who can't a normal sexual life.

This would create demand for bitcoin and LTC, probably billions as the porn industry is a billion dollar industry and it would be very convenient for people to pay using crypto to preserve their privacy, instead of credit card where they could be expose.

I'll look at it as a company that accepts bitcoin.

The news is about the adoption and acceptance of bitcoin, that's good news for us who wants to see companies accepting bitcoin. I've read the news about them before accepting Verge but it's a wise decision that they've started accepting bitcoin and ltc.

Well, it's indeed nice to know. Last time, they are only accepting Verge coin. Now they are accepting btc and ltc for their premium accounts. Those subscribers and users will enjoy watching and at the same time spending bitcoin payments in an online platform.
 We can definitely see how cryptocurrency is really growing and developing. It was adopted by different aspect of fileds like this of adulthood industry. And users always wanted the convenient factor given by cryptocurrency payments especially for those who don't have credit cards to use.

It has actually made me wonder why Pornhub chose Verge and eventually Tether when they started to accept crypto a few years ago when crypto is basically about Bitcoin.

You'd expect controversial "services" like porn sites would be the first to adopt bitcoin due to people probably not wanting to pay through their credit cards. But noo they decided to add that shitcoin Verge(XVG) first. But whatever, better late than never.

They accepted Verge long time ago and it is a trial crypto adoption from them. Then after all they accepted BTC and LTC that is another good move for them. The recent crypto adoption from pornhub is a good signal that cryptocurrency gradually invade deeper in human society.

This is not new at all, do we already forget titcoin? it was an altcoin powered by the porn industry too, and the way to get some easy coins was by sending a tits photo, in theory, they should be real ones. So, the cryptos have been on the porn side since some years ago...

Who pays for pornhub? Aren't those just videos?? Personally i think watching porn is a huge waste of time which leads to increasing degeneracy. It really shouldn't have regular, paying customers. I don't know though if the website also serves as a pimping platform for the thousands of women there, though?? You know, whoever catches your fantasy, provided prostitution is legal in your jurisdiction. In that case, paying with BTC would be really convenient for the customer when you don't want some strange entry on your card statement.

Porn industry accepting bitcoin and litecoin isn't gonna skyrocket the market of bitcoin. The industry is wide and has a net value that isn't believable. How this billion dollar market make changes to the bitcoin market need to be understood.

Global acceptance of bitcoin have increased, but this doesn't mean the net value of transactions and revenue is out of the bitcoin usage. This way porn industry has added more power to bitcoin, and that doesn't mean it pushes forward the market.

To say the truth, it was even surprising to me in the past why the porn industry never thought of accepting Bitcoin in the first place but went for Verge. Lol! Porn industry has started experimenting with cryptocurrency quite a long time back. It's not only about the store of value but also about the privacy. I lot of people are not really comfortable in using their debit/credit card in purchasing their subscription because it will show on their statement. So it's really preferable for them to use cryptocurrency instead. I still remember, there was a platform called xotika.tv who had initiated such experiments with cryptocurrency!

People actually pay PornHub for their premium service(pretty much full-length videos afaik); and now that a lot of countries and states are in quarantine(hence a lot of people won't be seeing their significant others), I wouldn't be surprised if their revenues are higher.

Others might be misled again that bitcoin is just used for porn websites. Just like in the past when it's already accepted in the mainstream.

Yet, the media keeps on highlighting on their articles that bitcoin is just used for illegal transactions.

Only simpletons follow what the media say, everybody should know by now that one news outlet is not enough to confirm news. This is a step in making bitcoin mainstream, porn industry wants to be a part of this milestone and I have no qualms with that.

So people who subscribe to PornHub don't need to use their credit/debit card to be their member. Using bitcoin and litecoin, they can hide their identity because the PornHub will not know who their members are. But people who subscribe to that site need to think about their ISP because some ISP will block access to porn and gambling websites.

With so many people visiting on the PornHub, it will give another promotion for bitcoin and litecoin because people will see that now they have another option to subscribe to the PornHub. It can provide more time for bitcoin and litecoin to have new people who will use bitcoin and litecoin which the porn industries promote. I think there will be another promotion from other industries that want to introduce cryptocurrency to the public.

The important part bitcoin price back to the moon is adoption, I think the pornhub come in the right time. At the end of the August bitcoin's price surge to touch $12000 barrier again which I think this price will be made as a support area.

I would personally not take this as a "global acceptance" move. It may be one of the largest industries in the world, but I am really intrigued to see whether it'll be a long-lasting thing or they'll remove it after a while as other large platforms did.

Verge probably paid a lot of money to do the PornHub thing. If I remember correctly, it was right when all shitcoins were on a boom - and they tried (successfully, at the time) to pump theirs even more by this "collab". Otherwise, they wouldn't have had all those vans with Verge and PH on them..

Steam had BTC as a payment method years ago. Microsoft did as well, until 2015 IIRC. They removed it due to the extreme volatility.

Porn industry is one of the silent industries raking in billions of dollars every year without making noise and the reason is because majority of people because of their religious and moral backgrounds do not want to be associated with the industry openly but secretly, they are much more invested which is the reason why the traffic to the sites is more alarming for anyone who is hearing about it for the first time or reading about the documentary on the industry. Money across the world does not discriminate because of their inclinations which is why its a good boost for the crypto industry and this should not be established as a means to avoid taxes or other legal scrutiny but rather to be prepared for the future.

I do not think it will, in anyways, increase the USD values of Bitcoin or Litecoin as PH does accept Fiat but it makes life simpler for crypto community just in case they want to use their Bitcoin to get entertained.

I am not really able to judge if this should be a good news for bitcoin or a bad one.
While being positive, it's good that pornhub has implemented bitcoin and litecoin payments since it will increase the rate of payments made through bitcoin.
But if we look at it from another perspective it will encourage users to use their porn services since they can easily make BTC payments while not revealing their fantary in their bank statement. In one way, it will kind of encourage users to use anonymous services for illegal stuff provided pron is banned in their country.

It isn't about price at this point, its about adoption. PH won't increase price, but being able to say that a big player in arguably the most important industry  ;D uses Bitcoin means people will think its a good thing to look into.

No one cares about altcoins dedicated to some single use, like this titcoin that you mention, or weedcoins or whatever, they were always been shitcoins, because this idea of having a separate currency for every use case is stupid, the whole point of money is to make it exchangeable for everything.

there are always other motivating factors behind the scene when someone adds an altcoin first to their platform while ignoring bitcoin, specially when that altcoin is a very unknown (not used by anyone outside exchanges) and a low quality coin with nothing to offer.
eventually as time passes by and that altcoin dies or continues its death spiral and more importantly when their platform never receives any payment through that altcoin, they have to give it up. but they don't want to just go away entirely. that is when they do what they should have done at the start and add bitcoin!

This event seems to be an important factor in the growth of BTC and LTC coins, as although it may seem like a place where people aren't most interested in it, PORNHUB is actually one of the most popular destinations, so BTC and LTC are likely to grow out of this business.

This is good news for the crypto world. Porn stars will also adopt Bitcoin or Litecoin from selling their videos. Maybe if I made a premium video on the pornhub site, I would get bitcoins from porn lovers.

I saw this announcement on one of the more popular cryptocurrency websites that I can't think of the name of at this moment but my first thought was why didn't this happen a long time ago.  I have "heard from friends" that there are plenty of other pornographic/adult entertainment websites out there that have been accepting bitcoin for quite some time.  To me it was a no brainer move.  It's also a lot easier to get away with if your significant other watch your credit card statements closely.  Now we need to get strip clubs to start accepting bitcoin  :)

Its was a good move from pornhub even tough some peoples will see this as a bad perspective but still it was a way to mass adopt on bitcoin as pornhub viewver are more then 3 billions a months.. I am surprise that LTC were able to be part of pornhub payments, I am not surprise for BTC as I am expecting it already but with regards to LTC. I thought EOS or Eth will be the 2nd crypto currencies that they will accept but my

btc and eth are like tandem but eos can come 3rd or lower than that  because eos popularity or its support is not wider as this 2 coin or on other top coins that came first before eos .

Pornhub has accepted cryptocurrency before, and they accept bitcoin and litecoin over other coins. It seems that Litecoin is a potential currency in their eyes compared to other cryptocurrencies. The site will likely accept most currencies in the future.

Not a fan or even a subscriber of that website so I can't relate much. But as long as it involves crypto and is a way towards adoption, then it's good. At least more people would know about it and use it for their transactions.

Looking forward to that as well. When that happens, I can relate better 'cause I also have a slight gamer side in me.  ;D

Pornhub is still a bit fringe in terms of what services are provided there. I think it's still an important milestone but to be honest nowhere near as an indicator that this would lead to global acceptance.
PH had been experimenting with crypto already with Verge a few years ago. So it's not something entirely new anyway. But cool to see that porn is embracing bitcoin at least. The two fit well together imo.

Bitcoin didn't offer them the ability to take part in a pump and dump...so there's that.

And porn's reluctance to move to crypto has more to do with rebilling than anything else. The bread and butter of the industry is banging credit cards month after month, something bitcoin doesn't do very well.

We do listen to the media but it's each individuals take to understand if the news is verified or just fake.

That's why I'll look at this adoption as what we have understood it and not what the media will say.

Some other countries prohibits the access of porn industry in a social media platform or websites just like in Middle East.

So this adoption is useless for them because the government authorities punishes those people who tried to access it.

Global acceptance will surely occur soon, but not that fast because there are still some governments who have a bad mindset towards bitcoin. This porn industry adoption of bitcoin is not also good because there are people who will look at it as a bad influence or bad platform to use with this cryptocurrency.

The target market for Crypto currency payments for porn, is the customer that does not want to leave evidence on centralized databases of his or her porn habits. So if you are into weird porn and you have some reason to hide it, then you can create a anonymous account and use pseudo anonymous crypto currencies to pay for it.

The threat is still the centralized database stored on these sites. If they can link your identity to your account... then crypto currencies will not hide your true identity.

Also, the more people spending crypto currencies on sites like this, will push down the price ...if this is coming from coins that was hoarded. If it comes from new adoption, then the demand should rise and the price with it.  ;)

Well, a good thing for the crypto users right now that they are accepting Bitcoin and Litecoin.

I still remember when Pornhub accepts XVG coin and at that time, the price is pumping heavily and got FOMO'ed of it and because of the FOMO I lost half of my total trading capital. Fuck Verge shitcoin and fuck Pornhub. There are many coins to accept why XVG at that time :D.

Ohh well that was 2 years ago and I already moved on with it :D. Just happy that they accepted both BTC and LTC. Wonder why they didn't try to accept ETH.

My expectation was also like BTC would obviously be the No 1 spot and second was by default for me it would have being ETH. But considering the LTC is very big surprise for me and I think one of the reasons could be that ETH currently the fees is very high, and this could prevent users to use their site as many would have avoided. So, they went with LTC and some push can now happen with LTC as I know there are many users on this forum as well who uses the site.

Many people that visit an adult website want to be anonymous, they do not even want people to see the trace. Not even the banks that produce the cards they used in purchasing premium content so I believe this should have been accepted by the adult website for a long time ago. The adult film industry is worth billions of dollars and as such is a big market. This is especially good for this site's users as they don't have to use credit or debit cards for payment which is not very good for anonymity. Now they can pay without fear of having their details on the site.
This is also another way to boost the adoption and ultimately the price of bitcoin and crypto in general. It is known that the more the adoption, the more the demand which invariably increases the price.

The direction that Bitcoin is heading to is not really how I wanted it. What I really hoped for was big companies like Amazon accepting Bitcoin and not all these dark webs and porn sites lol. Just imagine that people who are not into Bitcoin especially those that are against cryptocurrency get to see it, they will then start describing Bitcoin as a currency that’s being used in the dark web and porn sites, and that will taint the whole thing.

For me, this is not really the kind of news I celebrate, I wish for something better than this. If that the world has fully accepted Bitcoin before all these things, then it would be better. They are already saying that Bitcoin is a currency that’s used on the dark web, they will soon add this one.

Controversial service? I don't find porn sites giving controversial services, it's kinda normal to me in fact they are getting billions each year. They only accepted crypto payments last year I guess, I'm not sure if it is last year, because there were some conflicts with paypal, and paypal stopped their operation with pornhub.

There is a lot better crypto than bitcoin, I also questioned why they selected Verge and I got 2 answers on my mind.

1. With less popular coin the transfer will be instant as there is no traffic on the network, and less fees of course.
2. Verge offers anonymity, they got a public ledger and also private so transaction on sites like this can be hidden.

Wd just have to admit that Bitcoin will be very hard to distinguish with those bigger company's since it is~

This is good, in the future bitcoin will continue to be accepted as payment on big sites and of course they will also add other cryptocurrencies such as from altcoins namely tron, bnb, doge and others. Surely it will be done because their fees are cheaper in transaction fees

Seriously now, this is something huge for cryptocurrency if you think that pornhub, the #1 of porn industry, started accepting them. I think that based on monthly traffic it is the most famous site that accepts bitcoin.

I am using LTC since 2017. Have to agree that the transaction fee and the time required for confirmation are low. But there are a few practical difficulties with LTC. Liquidity is low for Litecoin. In most of the exchanges, daily volumes are quite small and it will be difficult for the merchants to convert large amount of LTC to fiat at once. Second difficulty is regarding the storage. It is not easy to store LTC (or perhaps I am unaware of good online wallets for LTC).
