Title: How To Start a Blockchain Project?
Post by: worldtraveller321 on September 03, 2020, 12:33:42 PM
Hello all. on terms of Privacy. I am thinking of perhaps starting a Blockchain based project.
What I like is more less over see this project. And I like to make a collaboration. Put together a team remotely and can communicate online.

Put together some type of project that could one day be sell able to the public on based on different concerns etc/

Privacy project or not. I am just interested in putting together something that could benefit others/. I can not really do this all by myself. so i need to do a team

but i really would like feedback on how to make this all happen. Of course I am not taking anyone's idea on the actual project as that idea is not formulated yet.

just like to know when i get an idea of a project. how to go about starting to putting it together in paper form.

Look to all your feedback. need this help thanks

If you are talking about projects, think about the significance and objectives of the project for you to sell it on the market. The important piece in a project is the significance such as for the medical health care system, agriculture, or smart city.

Blockchain in healthcare: https://builtin.com/blockchain/blockchain-healthcare-applications-companies
Blockchain in the smart city: https://www.iberdrola.com/innovation/blockchain-for-smart-cities-urban-management

Think about something that it is not been formulated yet and apply those you've learned about blockchain. GitHub is also there, it's gonna be easy for you as long as you're persistent on what you're doing.

You can check studies here for you to have an idea if it's existing already or not: https://ieeexplore.ieee.org/Xplore/home.jsp

No offense: If you're asking how to start a blockchain project, maybe you're not qualified to start one in the first place? I think it would be beneficial for you to start as a project member/employee first for you to actually know how things work first. Best of luck though.

There services that provide you source codes to create your projects but they are bad. People use such services for creation of their outdated, boring projects. I can say that those projects don't bring anything new to crypto, blockchain, and society. They are for scammers. They simply create projects when market is hyped like we see now, then take quick money and abandon projects when market turns down. You can find thousands of abandoned and dead projects like that.

If you only have ideas, you need to build up your team with some team members are coders who have in-depth knowledge on blockchain technology.

To be honest, I think that you need a good idea of the project first. Then you can try to pitch it to people to get yourself a team. Even though you can try fundraising, I think you should have and be ready to spend at least some significant amount of money (I'm pretty sure not many people who know what they're doing would be willing to work for free). If you don't have an idea, why not try to find a project that is already under development and offer your skills to become a part of the team? Otherwise, it does not sound remotely professional, more like a potential waste of time. I, for instance, have an idea, but I don't have the resources or enough motivation to pull it off, so I don't bother people with it. But starting a project without knowing how to start, what even it is going to be about is weird.

I am not discouraging you but if the project you intend to build or the area you want to explore has been seriously being explored, I will rather ask you to seek a novel project. The reason why I am saying this is that people do not invest that much into a blockchain project anymore so if you launch a project that already exists on the internet without any features that make your own better than the already existing platforms, then I can tell you the result might be unpleasant. Also, do not rely much of getting the bulk of the money you need from investors. There are still some blockchain project that do not seek for contribution from investors.

thanks on the feedback./

My ideas were not exactly blockchain,  but in the area of technology to say the least. Could be blockchain or could not, Crypto related

In general it would have relation to blockchain and even crypto and other forms of technology.

More less trying to figure out all what i need to start on and build from an original idea.

i agree on the boring projects out there.  Its more less looking at maybe something that may exist already but to add variety to the market is an idea as well. thanks for all your help

You need two things:

1.- Gitlab.

To have a good coding environment where any of the coders can make modifications on a private environment and an easy way to manage the codes between all devs.

2.-A server.

You need a VPS to run your node and the wrappers... it needs to be a huge server if you want to handle multiple nodes, or fast service.

looks like you don't need vps at this point, you can use localhost for testing but it depends on what blockchains project you are going to make
you need vps when you are ready to start
In my opinion, a good project is a project that has been running at least 50% and 50% running when the ICO or IEO starts

Came here to say exactly this - there's no need to make a "blockchain project" aka ICO or just token simply because you can or want. You need to already have a clear idea of what you want to do, how you will do, you need to be sure that no one already did this, and if they did, that your project will actually be better. This ecosystem if filled to the brim with worthless tokens and projects that either all try to do the same thing, or just full of flaws that make the project impossible.

If you need to ask, you aren't probably building something that's not needed. If you want to learn, there are lots of free courses to choose from. You could start by stuidying what's already been done, like different concensus algorithms, study their githubs and stuff like that.

To start a project you need to find out what the market needs? A bold new idea from previous projects is needed. The next step is to find a suitable blockchain platform if you do not want to create a blockchain platform for your project. Find a suitable group of people with similar interests to build a project.
If you want to build a DAPP on another blockchain then I recommend LAMDEN.IO
This project is about to launch mainnet and the LAMDEN blockchain is built entirely on Python. The advantages of LAMDEN are fast speed, easy to build DAPP, and cheap money transfer cost.
Their team is young and enthusiastic, and they will welcome new developers.

start by looking at the thousands of different projects that already exist. check out which ones are total garbage (which is the majority so you can skip a lot and shrink the list right away), which ones had some innovation, which ones are being sold as good projects but are actually pure pump and dump garbage, ...

then decide what you want to create, another garbage that pump and dumps for a while and then dies or an innovative cryptocurrency like bitcoin that changed the world.
by then you should have enough experience to figure out what to do and how to start.

There are actually two cases people explained here. first, how to create a blockchain project. second, how to create a crypto project. I see many people mistakenly explained about crypto project but blockchain is not only used for crypto world these are two different things. blockchain a technology actually can be used for many project depends on your need it can be useful on even medical projects and mostly financial projects and so on.

No offense meant but I have read the same wishes in the past...but many of them remained to be dreams and no accomplishments whatsoever. Now, having said that, I am hoping that something can come out of the things you are dreaming for in connection with establishing a blockchain-based project that can be bringing in real value and something that can be solid in an ever-shifting marketplace that we have right now. Starting a project is not an easy endeavor because you need money or a lot of convincing power to get others to come on board...and you must have the necessary knowledge otherwise you will not be able to direct your team according to your vision. Still, hoping you the best and I am really wishing that we are witnessing here another Vitalik Buterin or another Satoshi Nakamoto.

There are various phases comes under when you start working on a Blockchain Project.

Step 1: Clarify Starting Point
Step 2: Understand Blockchain Technology
Step 3: Adopt Blockchain Eco System Approach
Step 4: Understand the Dynamics of Blockchain Governance
Step 5: Know the Facts of Common Legal and Regulatory Issues in Blockchain
Step 6: Think About Associating Blockchain and AI
Step 7: Update Yourself From The Changes in Blockchain
Step 8: Being Accompany by Experts

Depends on your budget and what you can do yourself as well. OP said he can't do it all by himself for example, but this could mean a lot of things. Like if all he will do is oversee, then he is not needed for a brand new project and he shouldn't do it, why would he be of any worth?

The reality is that if you are a developer and need a designer that's fine, if you are a designer and need marketing that's fine, if you have a lot of money and just hire people to do it even that's fine, but if you want to get an investor to okay your idea, pay you, so you hire some people and make it a reality and earn money from that, then it's not going to be working for you at all.

You can't start unless you dream first. You need an idea, without an idea you cannot dream. You may only copy other people's projects if you don't have an idea in mind. Then the rest depends on how much money you got, which people you know, etc.

Like you said, you need a team but there are also lots of scammers so it won't be an easy task to find the right people. Why do you want to start a project like this anyway? You can make money by making investments. It would bring less headaches.

The dream part is not the hard thing, it's the grind that people are stuck at almost all day every day. The reality is that if you have a dream, that's fine but if you are not willing to work for that dream then it is not a dream but just an idea. What you should do instead is to make sure that you end up with working hard towards finding the path and then taking those steps in order to achieve it.

I personally never really do that, did it once in my entire life and created a project with friends last year, wasn't a big success, but at least we recouped our money back (well I did and a friend did but third person didn't). This means dreams can come and go, it's the grind that matters.

firstly you need a 'thinktank' of people in business, multiple industries and economics that can come together and think about what niche service/economy/system is missing from the world.. before even thinking about coders

it requires people in different business disciplines to know about different industries enough to know whats missing from each industry to then have idea's of what missing niche needs filling the most.(what would actually be useful)

you need economics people to factor in the different ways to make your niche valued for utility(get people to want to use it and treat it as worthy of using) and also to make it valued to then make money out of to pay for those involved and also incentivise those using it.

you also need business people involved that actually use the idea. so that they can alpha test it in the real world and point out what features/benefits/utility are needed for it to work.

EG
many idiots planned to make medical record blockchains. but had no one from the medical industry involved who could point out what data/format/structure or message packets between peers should look like/contain.
they also had no medical experts involved to then actually alphatest it on in the real world to see if it was actually useful/needed in the medical industry. .. hense why those projects failed before they even begun...

.. but once you have an idea in mind and have an idea of a niche that needs to be filled
THEN and only then you can get the coders in to then turn the paper idea into code. and then trial it out.

as for how to combine the team. well thats a discussion to have with the team. as each person has their favoured communication portal. so its a conversation you have later about how you want everyone to talk together collaboratively.

as for blockchains. well thats one option. there are others.
there is also 'ball&chain' whereby instead of a ledger which always keeps every record for eternity. what can also be done is after X months/block. the algo 'milestones' historic data.
(imagine it like a snapshot of a UTXOset from the point of view of a specific date that is fixed)
parse out the 'spent'/useless data from this snapshot and 'balls' up the useful stuff. and at a later second mile marker. snips/prunes the chain at the first milestone, to only keep the ball of that first milestone.
EG at block 210,000 ball up all unspents of 0-210,000. then at 420,000 spin the chain of 0-210,000 and just have the ball of unspents of 0-210,000 attached to the chain of 210,001-420,000. whereby the network has had blocks 210k to 420k to audit, check and verify that the ball of 0-210k is indeed good/acceptable.
then repeat at every milestone gap of 210k blocks.
thus future users have less to 'initial download' to get upto date. and data is not eternally locked/present even if spent/used

there are other options aswell as this. that can be used.

You need to be a good developer and have enough fund for development and marketing and for sure the most important thing is to have a good idea that could bring somthing new to the crypto space this way you will get the required attention from investors and you can rise enough fund to continue in developing your project and list your token on exchanges...etc
