If all countries can accepted crypto currencies in there various countries, as a means of payment and as a means of online exchanges, such as money is, money is anything use as a means of exchange and general acceptable. With the means I think all cryptocurrencies (bitcoin) will definitely go round the world, and will be use as a means of exchange. I will be so grateful to the creation of crypto currencies. This will also help our future generation, Remember something when we do international transfer across the countries, it may take a while to get the money to your local bank account, but with cryptocurrency you can get instant reflection if bitcoin etc is transfer to wallet,And you can make use of your coin (bitcoin ETC).

this is not so simple. we have to look the other way:

For example, if a person has 100 bitcoins and after that person dies without showing the family private keys and password, how will the family benefit from bitcoins?

If a worker receives wages in bitcoin, how will the government discount life insurance to guarantee the person's retirement? and with this question of volatility how will everything be?


am i missing something? is this new altcoin?

The future global currency will not be based on Bitcoin or any of the current alts in my opinion. It will be a centralised virtual currency operated by the banking elite.

it is sad that some people tend to ignore these things and boast about bitcoin can fix almost every economic problem.

Worldwide acceptance is still too low. There are a lot of problems with regulation and merchants adoption. And still, not so much people need it in general

There is so many people who are okay with credit cards now. The process of leaving credit cards and starting to use cryptocurrencies will not be so fast I think. Besides, there are so many governments that are against the decentralized nature of Bitcoin. They would like to have the control over cryptos. So, I think we will see many centralized cryptos in the future. There will also be decentralized ones too but they will be used as alternative.

Here's an issue I see: banks have the right to ask you where some of your funds come from or what a tx is for. Authorities have the right to seize funds in case they think something's wrong with them. Not only that, but transactions through banks take much longer while BTC ones are instant.

If Bitcoin becomes a massively adopted coin, things will have to be the same with BTC too. You would be interrogated at any given time about txs, those that aren't linked to your identity could be flagged as suspicious, your home could be raided in case they wanted to seize your BTC etc. In the world we are currently living in, a pseudonymous cryptocurrency that is fully decentralized simply cannot become mainstream.

There's more to it: Say the government has its annual spending budget in a Bitcoin wallet and, suddenly, someone clicks the wrong thing and everything vanishes into some random hacker's wallet (or poofs into a wrong address that has never even been used yet). Bitcoin is decentralized, so there goes literally all that money. Forever. How do you enforce tax payments? How do you make it so that Bitcoin payments become affordable for everyone?

Freedom is nice. Decentralization is as well. But unfortunately, we just aren't ready yet to fully adopt them as daily drivers. The only way to do so would be if we had decentralized everything and had no central governance.. and that means war.

Worldwide cryptocurrency acceptance is impossible i guess, because despite the trends and its popularity, there are still several conservative countries who are hesitant and refuses to adopt and legalized it. The fact that it is really beneficial and useful to the Country's economy is still not enough to encourage the Government to make it  as the mainstream payment method. There are a lot of things to consider, maybe in the future but it will take a long process and fiat/physical currency will remain in the mainstream fund management.

There is a chance that it will accept soon but still right now we need to take some actions. Some of the country still banned the use of the bitcoin and cryptocurrency. But some of the country are just regulating the use of the crypto some of them used wallets that support the crypto and they set a limitation on it so they can make sure there is no illegal action like sending a large amount of funds. Some of the business today too are already accepting the use of the bitcoin as a payment to their stores so they can transfer their funds immediately and pay the bills without hassle there is a chance too they will do this because now we need to make a physical distancing or social distancing to prevent spreading the infection.

This analogy you posits is not something that will likely happen and even if it's going to happen, I don't see it replacing the existing fiat each country is currently utilising. The reason is simple aside the primary currency function that fiat satisfy, it still goes a step further by being an identity of the country and that is something that cannot be quantified.

But unfortunately government doesn't operate decentralized coin and all the things are dependent on centralized local currency. Hopefully in future, Bitcoin and other major coin will be accepted by government.

I have been pondering this question recently.  While bitcoin is decentralized and not dependent on governments for its existence I believe that it is dependent on countries for its acceptance (or at least the degree of acceptance). Countries support for bitcoin varies considerably from where ownership and trade is practically illegal to more 'bitcoin friendly' countries. All governments have a fiat currency which drives its economy and bitcoin doesn't do it any favors so it is understandable that even so-called 'bitcoin friendly' countries are really just 'bitcoin tolerant'. The larger bitcoin gets the great the perceived threat to their fiat currency the more likely the country will become less tolerant. Your example of international transfers is a great one where bitcoin can do a much better job than traditional means however that isn't going to drive wide spread acceptance IMHO. It needs more use cases where it is a superior the alternatives. 

Take the USA which I would describe as bitcoin tolerant...Yes, I can own and trade bitcoins BUT I needed to track every exchange and report it on my taxes.  That means if I was to use bitcoins to buy, say, my dinner I would have to track this micro purchase and report it as a gain (or loss) which to me is a massive barrier toward its usage. Hence it largely is viewed/used as commodity or a 'store of value' for speculative investment. In this space most countries can tolerate bitcoin because it doesn't go head to head with their own fiat currency. They just need to regulate it so they can get their proper tax cut out of any investment appreciation and they are happy.

The problem is that the alternative for micro purchases to the vast majority (of people living in the USA at least) is a touch act to follow even if you ignore the tax tracking issue.  Credit cards are widely accepted, easy to use, and even pays me money back to use it (yes I am blessed in that I can pay off all my CC debt). Why this hasn't happened already, is 10 years not enough? Why you can't just go outside and randomly bump into a "bitcoin accepted here" sign, and instead if you want to buy something with Bitcoin, you have to search for stores that accept it on the Internet and then spend your time getting there, and there's no guarantee that they offer better prices than regular stores.

And don't mix Bitcoin with altcoins, altcoins are fundamentally not suitable to be global currencies, they are full of bugs and bad design choices that make them unsecure and centralized.

Yes, this is gonna happen for sure. By the time centralized virtual currency will be functional over the blockchain platform. Bitcoin will get used same as now, as an alternate to the traditional system. However there is chance to see bitcoin as the national currency in any of the country in the world.

In a way this unpopular opinion isn't completely out of reason. What we need desperately is to have worldwide acceptance of digital currency not particularly BTC but other cryptos. BTC is only a small fraction of the crypto 'per say' but adoption is much more important for its predecessors as that's where the real value lies.

Not what I had in mind. What I think is that Bitcoin serves one of it's main purposes as long as people use Bitcoin to store their wealth, and just sell small chunks for fiat when they need to spend money on places that doesn't accept BTC.

I don't agree with this. We don't need altcoins to be accepted worldwide. I really couldn't care less if XRP burns in a flame of bankruptcy one day or if Craig Wright's shitcoin gets delisted from every single exchange. Why would you need BCH or any other useless coin to be accepted worldwide if Bitcoin is not.
IMO we don't desperately need acceptance. We need to move forward with each year and the longer BTC stays on the map the stronger it will become. More people will get used to it and understand that it's safe and it's here to stay. I hate gold comparisons, but gold isn't accepted everywhere. You actually have to search a bit before you find a gold exchange near you.

Said issue is happening because the government basically limits everything behind the issue of security(or their inability, or whatever reason you can cook up for them), it's only a matter of time imo before instant transactions happen anywhere. I also used to think BTC being adopted worldwide was for the best, but my time with crypto proved otherwise. It's a lot better for centralized systems to actually be implemented and adopted in the long run, while BTC (or any other crypto for that matter) just needs to stand at their own place. It's like they're welcome to the world, but not absolutely needed or required by anyone. It can be used anywhere, but not necessarily everywhere.

Very happy to see another cryptocurrency lover but sir this is still experimental position in world economy. As there is no middle men and decentralized method all are in fear of acceptance BTC as well as cryptocurrency. But in this COVID season government and investors must thought about secure online investment so that huge investment came and at the same time US central bank, Swiss bank making custody of BTC. You can do all the things by now itself, no need for government approval and I doubt they will never will because government want to have control over the currency we are using so they are not going to let the bitcoin is going to be the main currency of this world.

Bitcoin and other cryptos have its cons too especially if it is used by more people like the blockchain network will be congested which makes the tx fee reach a huge value which will not fit for smaller payments which we are going to make in everyday life.

Cryptocurrency will one day be accepted worldwide. Because it bestows us a lot of windfalls. Although there are some impediments, in my viewpoint, the proportion of windfalls is more. Hopefully one day everything will be great.

Many country had legalised crypto currency. Some country legalised a specific number of currency.Whatever bitcoin will be on safer side.Some of the wireless transfer is happening through bitcoin now.If it's accepted by all over the world, surely it had capable to replace the dollar. Easy to say but hard to be done. Making people understand how Bitcoin works and what the importance of its existence is already a big challenge for most people are not that interested on getting into crypto because we are all have different preferences on the kind of currency we are going to use. Even if we are already in the modernized world where digitalization is present, still there are lots of people who patronize using fiat money rather than digital ones like cryptos for they find it difficult and complex to understand. Acceptance,  legalities and other concerns and many other factors which includes the presence of the government views towards Bitcoin and the whole cryptocurrency is making it hard for people to accept and adapt on using it on their certain countries. Accessibility on the advancement of technology and resources must be taken into consideration so that there is no single person to be left behind on wanting to adapt and accept cryptocurrencies which is yet far beyond to happen because there are still remote place that do not have access on technology.

But maybe in the near future, it might be possible that every single country around the world can be able to accept and adapt using cryptocurrency. But as for now, it is still far impossible.

Bitcoin can be accepted worldwide as a part of shadow economy. No way it will be the world official currency or the world reserve currency like a dollar nowadays.

Also problem with the economy and every government, it is not that easy to achieve bitcoin's adoption due to its reputation.

If scamming and hacking scenarios are still existing in the news that makes the public have a bad reputation towards it, bitcoin's acceptance in the community is really hard to achieve. My perception towards bitcoin is that it can possibly become accepted in public but this is not the right time to think about that.

The volatility is the major problem there since I believe those big institution will be worried about something bad happen if the market turn red and they cannot react properly since they are new industry and might this is the reason of there fall down.  But hopefully all will be in places and education drive will be conducted to make this kind of worries erased so that the economic growth of bitcoin will  rise up.

Yes, it could also be a centralized chain entirely controlled by the banks. Without decentralization, just focusing on security, they will utilize Blockchain technology for their work. China is doing the same, they are just admitting blockchain technology, there is no room for Bitcoin or any kind of altcoin in their system.

Not sure if the speed of depositing my money into a bank account has the same speed as sending transactions in Bitcoin, but I don't think it will ever be the same as both of it.
Bitcoin can be exchanged to fiat money but it is gonna be a bit tough to be adopted as a means of payment to some merchants due to volatility of the price as we know it.

Bitcoin has a very high potential of becoming a world currency and I think it is already used in a lot of countries around the world as a currency and a digital currency.

Not all cryptocurrency is going to go around the world as their are so many cryptocurrencies that don't actually have a value. As bitcoin adaptation continues we could see a lot of platforms of the banking system that are already supporting bitcoin conversion that is actually a good sign that bitcoin is being recognized around the world. Bitcoin technology is revolutionary compared to fiat money and it is actually a big jump but still not supported by a lot of countries or government, but as bitcoin adaptation continues it is going to be easy for bitcoin we be used by a lot of people.

For the sending money purpose I don't think you need a government regulation. You can do it now as long as the reciever already know how to change bitcoin to money fiat. I've done this several times (actually I have more times to use altcoin) because I have a friend who study abroad, I suggest to his parent to using crypto currency rather than money fiat. I think the government will allowed it if they know using crypto currency is more efficient then their service. But, for the payment purpose I'm sure it needs more times, the government will have a thousands of reasons for the citizen to keep using money fiat.

Individual payment still available for using bitcoin and altcoin as currency when you send money for your friend or make payment on some website, but for government many country still not give access for bitcoin and altcoin become legal currency payment because they think have many risk with bitcoin suddenly could dump and make many people will lost chance with their transaction, how ever not all people and company will sell bitcoin after receiving from payment and they will hold several day before selling so it have chance for bitcoin back to lower price or keep going to higher price.

Bitcoin legalization actions gained speed recently. Even a country like Russia that was against Bitcoin has started to lean towards it. If the acceptance rate continues to increase like this, it will be awesome to see much more people use Bitcoin on almost everything.

I think that is because the government is not giving bitcoin acceptance, so people tend not to use bitcoin as the payment solution. The volatility is another thing that the business owner thinks because that means they need to accept the volatility, and they need to see the price will go up and down. Yeah, it is not going to happen. Not any time soon. Look at how the prices of the coins fluctuate. Looking at how volatile the currency is, it is not feasible to accept the bitcoin or other decentralized crypto currencies unless you accept and directly convert it to fiat currency instantly. There are services that do that for you, but this doesn't mean that "you" are accepting crypto currencies. Lets not forget about how insane the fees become where there are sudden changes in the market price.
You can indirectly purchase with bitcoins though. Buy giftcards with your coins and use those bitcoins to purchase online.

Yeah, sending crypto currency is not a problem but when it comes to FIAT the government may have a problem with that for a reason. And since crypto currency and fiat is interconnected via exchanges there will be a regulations that needs to be followed. It's not just for the greater good but also to avoid the illegal use of money such as laundering.

The acceptance of crypto is slow but we will surely get there.

Cryptocurrency could have a big difference when it comes to technology. A lot of countries is already seen cryptocurrency as the future of money because what we have now is just the physical money. Digital transactions in everywhere around the world using the cryptocurrencies is a unique technology. Some countries are interested in cryptocurrencies to make it as one of their assets but there are also some countries that do not trust it and banned it in the countries. Like for example bitcoin, I think we just need time to embrace the technology from bitcoin until it fits the community.

In my opinion, this will takes time that bitcoin to be accepted globally. We already observe this that some people doesn't know this cryptocurrency and even other countries prohibit the use of bitcoin. Bitcoin doesn't need to be a global currency at this early times but making it as another option of payment aside from fiat is already a great achievement for crypto. We cannot expect for the whole world to accept bitcoin and legalize it but this pandemic is an eye opener for all the thousands of people that bitcoin can be a great currency with its fast and convenient online transaction.

I think we will all be seeing that future and to be honest, it is not that impossible to happen knowing that some countries are already accepting bitcoin and other crypto currencies as well. We are talking about its acceptance that is already happened/happening in some countries but how about it being adopted in certain scenarios. That just means it would be centralized if that happens.

It will, once the current monetary system collapses, then it will be the age of financial freedom, and its more efficient and secure than a centralized database that could be easily breach by malware. Where in the blockchain you need to have atleast 51% of hash power to steal or reverse the transaction. This pandemic made people more aware of Bitcoin, especially in major countries hit by the pandemic. One of this is france that transitioned to the use of Cryptocurrency for payments.

Bitcoin to be accepted globally isn't necessary as it is just an alternative currency next to the fiat currency that you can use to pay your bills or buy something.

You already saw that Bitcoin isn't used worldwide because some of the countries banned it especially the countries in Middle East and India possibly so lets not wait for the time that this will happen because I don't think that it will happen. Even though our technology is evolving, there are still some people who can't even have access to smartphones or anything used to access Bitcoin.

Though many countries legalized the use of crypto particularly bitcoin, there are still countries banned it. So this means worldwide acceptance are not possible at this time. The volatility has something to do why it cant be use as one of payment method unless the merchants are aware of this risk and still willing to accept crypto despite of these issues. I think there's no need to push through crypto to be recognize like fiat, as long as many people are using it (regardless of their reasons e.g investment/digital currency) its a good thing already because users are growing worldwide and there's a future possibility of acceptance for every country.

I don't think this will be a matter of knowledge or being a literate when it comes to technology but I think if a country is already a place where people could embrace new technologies easily, Bitcoin might be easily adopted. Most of the countries that are using Bitcoin are those with people used to technologies, that could support that way of transactions that just means that as long as there are countries that are struggling to support such technologies, I think it would take longer to accept Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies.

Bitcoin is still a highly volatile asset and hence not much suitable as a medium of exchange, though it's really good as a store of value. Stablecoins can serve as a medium of exchange, including international transfers, as they can be easily pegged to USD. I believe that in the future, some digital assets (either stablecoins or any other crypto assets, not necessarily Bitcoin) will be used for global transfers and will successfully compete with traditional currency.

we still need to tell them that cryptos can work like a fiat especially to a people that dont tried to use crypto before because if we only tell them that crypto works better as an asset , chances are they will engage on this because of this reason alone  . what about merchants and other people that wants to use crypto on their store  . infact crypto acceptance can grew more with the help of merchants and people that use a crypto like a fiat because others will see it outside compare to when cryptos are hidden because they people only use it as investment .

When we got started in cryptocurrencies we were fascinated by being able to transact on global exchanges and then send funds to our bank accounts.

Maybe after the year on which everyone is already educated in bitcoin and everyone already know modern technologies so that they can use bitcoin easily. If When? Then nobody knows, maybe after another 10years of crypto ,only tomorrow and the future can tell.

The world's acceptance of cryptocurrencies will be certain when the majority of payment countries and services accept them. Bitcoin will be a global currency.
The problem is we have too many currencies and not all are accepted.
Another problem is that once it is accepted that global deposits will have overcrowding of cryptocurrencies due to too many transactions being sent. Their blockchain will slow down transactions and increase costs. There will be more solutions for cryptocurrencies in the future.

If the future of global digital currency is not Bitcoin and current altcoin in the market then I don't see the world having a global digital currency due to the rules and regulations some countries which are different from each other not to mention the economy, bilateral trade and political foes happening between some countries.

The government negative viewpoint towards Libra which was introduced as a centralized global payment coin which was also supported by the big companies in the financial, e-commerce, and e-payment services should be enough for us to understand the government doesn't want a global digital cryptocurrency but national digital currencies.

I also agree with you, it is impossible to accept cryptocurrency worldwide in the near future. However, even though cryptocurrency is banned in many countries of the world, its acceptance and popularity, especially Bitcoin, is increasing day by day. The use of cryptocurrency has increased as people are confined to their homes due to the current epidemic.

I think that the overall acceptance has increased and that the progress is visible but still that is not satisfying. However, this is a long process and we need to be aware that for many people Bitcoin is a novelty. Nothing happens over night and maybe there are still no full conditions for Bitcoin to be fully accepted.

Possibly, regulations around the cryptocurrency world wouldn't give the opportunity for the global adoption to take place. Until these stiff regulations are out of cryptocurrency world global adoption will be a big challenge, though there are good numbers of acceptance from the cryptocurrency but it adoption hasn't been felt. If all countries accepted bitcoin and other altcoins as may currencies then it would be a win-win situation for us pioneers. However, it might also possible to have regulation to the asset that we handle. Just like imposing of laws like tax when you are earning specific amount of cryptocurrency. Well, it is good for me as long as the money will goes to the project of the government and not to their pocket.

Its obvious that the possibility is not in doubt for all countries to accept means of payment with cryptocurrency especially bitcoin, because looking at what is happening currently the evidence is quit clear that many countries has started legalising cryptocurrency especially bitcoin in there societies, so the Chance of been adopts bitcoin for salary of civil servants or industrial workers is there without problem.

I seems that paying workers with bitcoin, it will not generally accepted by everyone but for certain individuals that will compromise to it, because some person's in some countries don't really know rudiments of cryptocurrency especially the most populous crypto known as bitcoin how it operates,and even some certain old adult's taught that Btc is scam and them can't allow their payment to come with bitcoin, only people that will slightly accept payment via Btc should be the young adults, and before every young adults accept it massively it will be legalized by their country, which the country law makers will implement.

Accept to be payment, yes obcourse it might be very possible for cryptos to gain this on the long run. But as the center of finance of a country, I dont think so. Bitcoin cannot be controlled by anyone, meanwhile the financial system of a country should be well manage and always guided by the central banks. Let's just advocate for crypto as a legal tender.

If it had been so easy, most countries would have accepted cryptocurrencies long time ago. Unfortunately, the mass adoption is a complicated process.

It will be the scariest thing that can happen. They may paint it as virtual currency but they will still be using the old system. Although it is a scary thing to imagine, it is still has a long way to go before it can happen on a global scale. There are many things to be considered first before it happened and I think it will take so long years. The good thing about it, even though many countries do not accept bitcoin they still allowed some people to have a crypto transaction, like transferring funds, trading, and investing.
That's true, of course they wouldn't choose the decentralized one because they can control it at all, banks and crypto are different ones and they are still on favor of banks because many people are using it and this is the tradition of many countries.

bitcoin has already around the world though in many countries it is not accepted yet people of those countries still accumulating Bitcoin for Holding.

and also converting into Fiat is so easy(well that's in my country) that you an just send the amount into your detail and the Money can be picked up in each branches of Money order company.
but i know in other countries bank account is a must before converting your bitcoin into currency.

In the near future, it seems impossible for cryptocurrency to be accepted in all countries, because there are still some countries that

It will take a long for everybody in other countries to accept bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies because they still don't consider bitcoin as a currency and good investment due to vast numbers of scams fraudulent activities. Also, Bitcoin is decentralized that no organization or person can control bitcoin, not even the government; that is why the government still supports fiat over bitcoin.

I also use bitcoin as a mean of payment for some transaction approved by the seller, but only if the transaction fee is 1-5 sat / byte. As fee increase, I prefer to use fiat or other low fee altcoin to pay for transaction.
