As on of the best altcoins, Ethreum is my first choice to invest. I invested my larger amount on Ether expecting that I will get double profit. But recently its value is some what in down trend. Still my investment has 20% profit. I am in a puzzle, I should sell it now or hold for further profit. Can you suggest me please, whether it is my best time to sell or hold for future?

20% profit is pretty high, will I sell if I get that high a profit on any of my assets, maybe/maybe not, it depends on so many factors privy to only me. Why I wrote the sentence before this is because it's your decision to make, the 'factors' I mentioned earlier differs individually, you will have to assess yours on a personal level and decipher/come to a conclusion on what's best for you.

If it was prolly a shit/pump and dump coin, I can give you an advice to sell, but ethereum has done pretty much well for a long time now and with eth 2.0 at hand, there could actually be a reason to hold your eth longer, even if you have a 20% profit ready to be cashed out, but that being said, this is still not an advice to hold, read the first paragraph and decide for yourself what you want to do.

I think you should hold this coin until it reaches ETH V2. From my point of view, until the beginning of the year this coin will still go up drastically especially if you are strong enough to hold this coin until it reaches ETH V2

I think when ethereum 2.0 is released or close to release there is a possibility that ethereum's price could be better than now but this is only an estimate considering ethereum's price once touched more than $1000 so i think approaching ATH is still reasonable.

If you don't have a clue, sell some or take back your investment then hold your profit.

So, when you are fealing still have a good trend but your predicted is wrong your initial amount of trade not getting affected at all. What's you get from the down price your estimation profit just decrease, my self always doing that's for more safe trade because don't know the exact situation market when you want more but could be the down trend can more than your profit % and turn out you on the lose position when the price is crash.

No doubts with such statement, as ETH really provide good run way back, your investment still got a good market value.


And that's normal as trends changing up, lots of investors who already gained decent profits are now cashing out.
It's your good judgement to do your call.


Decision making  with this kind of matter  needs deeper understanding of how the market will proceed.
If you are long term holder types of investor you can continue holding, bounce back may take place
for the next following days or weeks.

ETH will have a big change this year, it will move from PoW to PoS, and when that happens the prize will bump, and i think that because people will need close to 32ETH for the staking. So, the holders will complete to that amount to start staking, and that means a lot of buy orders, that always end in a price bump. That's why i recommend you to hold them until ETH 2.0 comes to us.

And remember the ATH of ETH was a lil more to $1000 each coin, so, it's not even close to that price right now, maybe the next ATH will be up to $2k. Is about time.

I would not suggest to sell because it is more of a buying time than selling because of few reasons especially due to eth 2.0 the ethereum is strongly placed to grow well. Secondly we all know we are sitting right at the start of parabolic bull wave so i will suggest to hold for 6 to 12 months for massive gains hopefully.

Right now, it seems to me that the time of Bitcoin should come, and if I am right, then altcoins will fall in price for some time.

Its good decision to sell your ETH. Because you are in profit (20%). If can make a choice hold 1 or 2 ETH for long time, not for daily trade. Rest of ETH sell and wait for dip. Also you can move others altcoins for trade, if you think it will take time to reach ETH dip. 

It good you already have the knowledge to know that Ethereum is among the safe haven cryptocurrency in the market because safe haven coin is not measured through the rate the coin claimed on capital market.
With that been said, utility and good potential coin in the market are expected to follow the trend of Bitcoin and also make a new ATH which is yet to happen so if you decide to sell all your holding now you may miss the upcoming benefit and I will advise you to sell 50% of your ETH into stablecoin which youll also use to buy back when the price is down so you can make more profit and also dont miss out the upcoming benefit either.

Whenever i have sold ethereum in the past i have regretted it and now when the overall trend is positive i think it is not wise to sell. If you can hold for few weeks i suggest you to sell not before the eth price hits previous highs.

it's very hard on the classic market achieve these profit in a short period of time. I think it's could be a wise idea decide to exchange again in cash.
If you have a plan in the "long" term, like hold without trading there is a different scenario, but differentiate your portfolio is always a big advantage

The DeFi fenzy demand is still here and not going soon in my opinion. The demand is still here, you tell right by the transaction carried out on the network.
It also depends on Bitcoin, alts can not perform alone with Bitcoin correction. They tend to follow Bitcoin path, so in conclusion, sell if you know you are in profits.

Just sell your ethereum and go out from the market. IMO if there was also a chance for ethereum to go up again as bitcoin was also showing the bullish trend at this moment too.
If you are feeling worry about that and this is the best time to for you to quit from the ethereum market and use your profit to invest in the legit project again.

It's good to sell your ETH with 20% profits and that's already high but since the market is quite positive these past few days, there might be high chances that ethereum would break another ATH and end its price in its all time high. But the last decision would still be all yours.

if you believe to ethereum future why you sell it now ? aren't we ever see ethereum price new price above $1000 in few years ago, i am believe in could repeated within in a year. moreover there is strong trigger for eth price in november, core developers planned to release eth 2.0 and i am sure price will moon due of this.

20% is already a good profit but if you sell your Ethereum now there is a big chance that it will not go down again you chance is slim to buy it back at a much lower price you will have to wait for another big drop, better sell a percentage of you Ethereum and wait for another all time high to sell again, especially now there is a big talk about version 2 that will push the price of Ethereum.

you are already in the profit zone and I think it's better if you sell coins and then move into the potential coins.
Imagine when you are investing about 1k in the past and this time your investment have turned into the 1200 and you can take your $200 as your intial capital to invest in the legit project again and make it doubled.

I think that you should also try to decrease the risk of your money too but that depends on the result of your DYOR. It looks like ethereum is quite difficult to break $400 without a big news from the development progress.

I suggest you to hold for it more longer. You know that 20% profit is already decent enough, but it is also depend on what is your target profit. Right now in my opinion it's showing an uptrend, as same as bitcoin since ethereum are following the uptrend of it. You can sell at any point and also buyback later after the correction happening, don't go all in but buy it for regularly.

You're the only one who can decide and answer this question. Are you contented with your profit? If yes then sell to have no regrets if ever the price plunged (but hopefully not). You can also take your capital (so you wont lose it) and let the 20% of your profit stay for future increase.

However if you believe in eth then for me its better to wait further for bullrun, it will happen but it takes time. But this is if you have patience to do so.

With that 20% profit you can use it to buy at lower price than now or you can buy another coin that have a good future to spend
Ethereum still have a good future ofcourse with ethereum 2.0 and with all defi hype that use ethereum blockchain

I think it lasts much longer because I think etherum will have a big increase next year. or else, sell now if it is profitable, and be sure to buy again. because the market is volatile, it is possible to buy at a slightly lower price again. because next year will be a good year for etherum.

I dont think its selling time. Were bit closer to end of month and in 3 months there are lots of things that will happened in thr crypto market that we can expect to change. Eth reaches 481 price and drop down I think if the bull season hit it could reach near ATH. Thats gonna be a good profits when happened.

everyone has a plan in what investment is made. Even though it only gets a 20% profit, I think when it is already the satisfaction of investors it will not be a problem.
but if you're too worried, you can sell some and hold onto the rest. if there is a decrease then you can buy it. if there is an increase you can still feel the benefits.

Why, current time is for selling when the btc will keep moving up and may even cross 11k soon and with this ETH may rise above 400$ in coming time so it is ideally time to buy unless those who are very pessimist that the fall is on cards and market will crash then only they can buy else better to hold or buy it.

Selling your coin when it's falls is big disadvantages to the seller, since you invested Large amount of ethereum and it falls, it does not means that it will not rise again, provided its ETH  it will definitely rise.
My advice is that do not sell your coins when it falls exercise a patients it rise and you will make a profit.

As I see you are in profit 20%, that will be up to you to sell right now or wait for more. You have to make a wise move instead of waiting for more profit so many projects right now which is really good to enter use your eth for spot trading you can double it in just 1 day, try trading mate.

Actually I am really at crossroads too. On one hand I think that the ethereum has a major community and it will innovate much more but on the other hand there are promising projects like polkadot which will.solve scalability issues.

Hold on, I think Ethereum still has a chance to increase even higher. I personally made 80% profit from Ethereum, when I bought in March 2019 when the price was $ 140 - and I sold in August 2020 when the price was $ 420. you have to believe that Ethereum is a profitable investment.

Same for me here, I wouldn't actually sell ETH because I think it's a bad investment, only to free up money for other investment. My crypto portfolio is diveded into bitcoins and alt coins. My bitcoin holdings I rarely sell because I need it for gambling and betting. And my alt coin portfolio I try to move around the holdings if I find a new project to invest in. But I think I will keep my ETH for a little longer before realising any gains.

It seems to me that the ether will not go higher and in your place I would sell a small part and invest for example in bitcoin or other alternative currencies. Keeping only one ether is not a good idea, given the volatility of the market. It is better if you have a wallet consisting of 5-10 top coins, then you will be more protected than if you keep only Ethereum.

It all depends on you and if you think the current price of Ethereum is profitable for you to sell, I don't think it is a problem, as long as you are selling it profitably.
And I have some Ethereum and I am not going to sell it now because I am optimistic that the Ethereum price will go higher in the next few months, if the price goes down again I will continue to hold it until it reaches a high price.

If you want to get double profits, then you have to hold it first, I mean wait until the Ethereum price jumps high. but if you can't wait to sell it doesn't matter because you already get 20% profit. but according to my personal research Eth's prices are currently down and not a good time to sell.

Buying coin at the peak of its price is kinda dangerous tho and if seeing its price stats there's big chance that it will go down again. honestly it's kinda difficult decision but if you are enough with 20% whats wrong with cashing out? if you want to invest to ETH again you can make another investment another time.

if the trend is down, you better hold ETH assets for a while, because most likely the cryptocurrency market will go up again towards the end of the year, but all options are yours.

ETH is a good altcoin so I think the price can go up in the future, if you don't really need money I think you should wait a little longer. I guess as soon as version 2.0 comes out the price will have a significant increase.

No one can give you exact advice, you should make your own decisions. If you want to sell ETH at this point sell it, if you want to keep ETH wait a while.

If I was in your position to make the decision, I'll not sell at a 20% profit when ethereum feels like the next big thing. The ethereum 2.0 project is yet to be launched and we've seen a substantial movement in the value of ethereum. I can only imagine when we have the first phase of the project activated, you could have over 70% profit.

Whenever you need money for something is the best time to sell ethereum. If you really need the money in real life for something, you should totally sell it, real life expenses are more important than savings, if you have savings but make a debt, that debt will eat up your savings anyway and makes no sense, the only reason why you should have savings in the first place is to pay for unexpected stuff you might face. So, if you need to pay for something, sell it.

However if you do not have any payments to be made and the only reason you want to sell eth is because you think it will go down and you want to get out before losing more money, you should definitely keep holding it because in the end with eth 2.0 it will go to levels it never reached before.

It good to set a goal profit but with the conditions and the expectations of the market to reach new ATH which is yet to happen certainly due pandemic effect not setting a profit is still good and for the OP not to be trap in price that will be deficit, it will be good if he sell sold part of his investment just like I also did with my YFI token (I sold 75% of it since i bought when the price was $13K).

I see ETH pumping above $1000 with the launch of ETH 2.0 that might be a perfect time to sell. I think ETH might past this price in the future thanks to the promising projects being launched on its blockchain.

i also believe the same. ETH May reach ATH once ETH 2.0 launches and it can happen this year. So HODL on to your ETH mate.

I don't think now is the right time to sell our Ethereum, because Ethereum's current price of $ 366 is still quite low. For me now is the perfect
time to buy Ethereum, because I am sure seeing the movement of Bitcoin which has returned to the price of $ 11,000 will make the Ethereum
price go up too. At least if you want to sell Ethereum when the price of Ethereum goes up to $ 500.
