Title: Anyone claimed UNI tokens?
Post by: akram143 on September 18, 2020, 10:21:10 AM
Have you heard that? Uniswap offers 400 UNI tokens for every address which had atleast a single swap before Sep 2020 and current worth of 400 UNI token is 1,60,000 INR probably will increase a lot in the next few hours.

Yeah heard that but unfortunately do not know how many holds that Swap coin with them. Did not heard before about this coin much but after they informed about offering thought wish I had 1 atleast to get that 400 UNI coin which is rising at the moment though once people have their free coins many will start selling and price drop is certain.

More than 13,000 people already claimed their UNI tokens but the report is 2 days old now, probably it may reached 100K by now or even more.I can see huge swing on the price even in the 24 hour chart but still maintains at $5 for a token.

I have never used the uniswap exchange and the criteria to claim those token clearly stated that you should have done transaction on it before 1st of September. So I assumed I do not qualify. Anyways those who have claimed it are now very happy.

I have used Uniswap in the past, got my tokens and sold them for 2.5; cause such Tokens usually dump and a bird in hand is worth two in bush... Have burned my hands in IDEX similarly

But then it went to 8.5$ :(

You will not believe in the gas fee in that exchange. My friend told me that the gas fee is almost $30 per transaction, which increases if the price increases. I don't know if I am qualified or not because I don't use it for trade on that exchange, but I have an account. I read on a telegram channel, some people can buy that token directly from other markets, but I don't search for more.

To check if you qualified or not you don't need to pay gas fee, just click on 'claim uni' and enter your address. It will show if you have claimable tokens or not.

Same logic I applied lmao

It is not depending on the price but the mempool. Should be lower by now since not everyone is claiming and fees are coming down slowly. You can probably get away with 200 Gwei or so (check the ethgasstation) instead of 800 Gwei like the first day when the claim is opened.

Even if the payouts are actually made, I don't think the coin rate will go up. Such news is permanent for the dynamics of the coin's growth rate. I think that the output will not be more than 5 - 10 dollars. Although this money is not just lying on the road 8)

UNI token is not a regular airdrop token. It is a governing token. It represents the ownership of the Uniswap platform. UNI holders can vote for various proposals on the platform thus making Uniswap more decentralized and self-sustainable platform. Moreover, 40% of the supply which is reserved for the team members, investors and advisors has 4-years vesting period which cannot be sold for the next 4 years. Also, the airdrop was distributed to over 50K ETH addresses making token less vulnerable to dump.

Although, I am not a big fan of airdrop tokens but Uniswap did the job smartly and tokens are surely worthy and will gain more price in coming months. Who doesn't wanna be the owner of the platform having over $2B worth of cryptocurrencies locked in?

I totally agree with webtricks, however I'm a skeptic of long term view on this and believe it to be a passing fad mostly... Just like UCOs in 2017... DeFi is the buzzword... The high eth fees are a buzzkill btw... For however long this lasts make hay... Also take a look at projects on Binance SC... Might have some gems .

I agree with you, DeFi wave won't last very long because the concept itself is not completely foolproof. But Uniswap has been into the picture from long ago i.e. since November 2018. It has now grown to very extensive scale. Unlike basic DeFi model which is lending/borrowing, Uniswap is an exchange providing instant trading using liquidity pool model. Even if DeFi buzz gets over, crypto users will still need an exchange to sell ERC-20 tokens and that's where Uniswap's utility won't get over easily.

Uniswap is much established and yes it won't lose it's edge over others, but it can't be denied that the massive volume it has witnessed recently won't sustain once DeFi craze gets over, also the high gas fees are a deterent for retail traders who would prefer CEX over DEX due to better UI and feeling of security.

Uniswap is an Ethereum based swapping platform, which is a very unique system to swap/exchange your coins/tokens by just link your wallet with the exchange. Many people using this platform but most of the crypto community don't because of its high transaction fee. Uniswap launch their UNI token and distributed to their regular user which are using this platform before September 2020 as a reward. This is the main reason most of them not able to claim this huge profitable token in their wallet.

I guess you didn't understand who can avail this claim, anyone who traded atleast one time on Uniswap even if got failed they can claim that rewards and if they got more volume then they will be rewarded with more. I saw someone claimed 2 million worth of UNI tokens.

I think this proposal was not approved by the Governing voters. Let's hope that it gets approved in future sometimes.

I also got emails of this kind to claim your first UNI as an airdrop. But before clicking on any links you should first think about why someone give you the token worth $2000? I never claimed this kind of airdrop.
