Background:
I recently came across an interesting story by a man named Kyle MacDonald. His story was chronicled on his website (https://oneredpaperclip.blogspot.com), and I came across it on his TED talk (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8s3bdVxuFBs). He detailed his bartering journey where over a year and 14 trades he traded a red paperclip for a house. His inspiration was a game, Bigger or Better. This idea of sequential trades for higher valued items is not new. Examples date back centuries, for example the Japanese Buddhist folk tale, Straw Millionaire (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Straw_Millionaire). I would like to use One Red Paperclip as my inspiration to try a Bitcoin collectibles version. I have not heard of this being done in the Bitcoin community User @TedMosby is doing something similar (see edit at bottom). I would like to see what I can trade for. My bartering journey will be kept here in this thread.

WTT:
This is meant to be a fun thing. I am not trying to "make a buck." But I will be honest. I would like to see if I can eventually acquire some rare or valuable Bitcoin collectibles simply by trading up. If not, who cares, it's just for fun anyway. I don't really know if Kyle MacDonald had an endpoint in mind when he started, so I won't either, but rather will see where it takes me without any specific item I am trading for.

Rules:

• I will not trade for Bitcoin or any other cryptocurrency, that would be selling.
• Any items will be open for trade as long as they are cryptocurrency collectible related. While I would prefer Bitcoin items for this, others such as Litecoin, Ethereum, Monero etc. will be considered as well.
• I will only trade for the current item listed. I will not sell the current trade offer item for BTC, or swap out something in my own collection in order to make a trade.
• I will cover shipping for both traded items, from me and to the trader. So the trader will need to provide me with a Bitcoin address for me to reimburse shipping costs that we agree upon. Happy to use escrow for higher value items or privacy (if it gets that far I guess).
• Trade offers can be made in this thread or via PM. Successful trades will be posted in this thread to keep record and to show current item up for trade.
• Identity of the trader will be posted with the trade unless they would like to remain anonymous.
• I have the right to refuse any trade offer made. A trade offer does not mean I will agree to the trade.
• Please do not send any bitcoin to any PM sent, I will not ask for any payment for a trade or shipping. So please do not send your bitcoin.
• I have not made this a self moderated topic to prevent anyone from claiming censorship, but please keep posts on topic to trades, current items, or your thoughts about how the project is going.

I went through some of my collectibles and found what I felt to be a common, low value item as a starting point for my trading. I have decided on this to start for the first trade offer:

This is a generic Bitcoin Logo sticker. It measures 3 x 3 in. (7.6 x 7.6 cm) and is not special in anyway whatsoever.

Hey condoras. Unfortunately for you the unicorn sticker is on its way to Mbitr as we speak. I have not looked into getting others, but I might because I really liked it too and hated to see it go. Two things:

1) I already traded an unfunded purple Polymerbit Crypto Valley note in trade no. 4, so unless it gets funded for more than the value of the current lot, I'll have to pass on it. Also, the deal would be for all items, not selected items (ie just the moonbits).

2) To be transparent, I did recieve an initial offer via PM from another member today, we are working on a deal currently, but nothing set in stone yet. They can post in the thread if they would like, but it is a promising offer at the moment.

The protective plastic wrap is a little scuffed, but it is still the original plastic wrap the coin came in - the airtight, coin, and paper care inside are all mint.

I have the first comics that was made, by satoshi nakamato it was made in 2014, I remember that this same book was sold for $ 10,000 because several Btc pioneers had signed it I personally believe that this has an incredible value and I am willing to change it for your Denarium.

Here is the news of the book, the 20.4 Btc payment in 2015 was $ 10,000 at today's exchange rate would be as an estimate $ 715,000.

Hey thiago007. Thanks for the awesome offer. I must admit that this item was new to me, but I did some asking around to gain a better understanding. While I don't think it is worth 20.4 BTC (unless yours is signed by 105 OGs) it does have collectible value and I'm sure others would want to trade for it later on. I think it is great and would make for a fun trade.

But honestly open to any trades, doesn't mean I will accept. Trying to trade up each time, so items that are of equal or greater value are prefered. Typically one or two items are easier to trade than a whole group of items as some people want just part of the offer, but I trade everything I get together and don't add/remove items.

I have two interesting pieces, one moon pass of which only 50 pieces were made that I plan to fill with 0.011BTC, and the other is a great piece made by hand a Dogecoin tag I'm not sure how many were made but I'm sure there were not many and they will not do more.  also the moon pass includes NFT to prove who is the owner.

I will pass on your offer, but I really do appreciate it. When offers are made either posted or via PM I ask myself if I never made another trade which item(s) would I rather have, and I think I would rather keep the Microsoul and the BTCC chip.

I am hoping to continue to trade up with each trade with no specific end point in mind, and while I do like the moon pass, I do not feel that the moon pass and dogecoin tag is a trade up in this situation.

I really would like to see this thread continue so I wanted to update everyone with the offers I have received for the current trade. I really do appreciate all offers made in the thread and via PM. I am inclined to accept one if there are not any others and the user is still open for a trade.

I have generally been evaluating trades for both collector value and BTC value. I would like to "trade up" so looking for more than just equivalent BTC load amount. I do try to see what the most recent sales or offers for items are to see how their value is in the current market, not just the load value. So many of these offers are very good. This can be challenging when items are closely valued, but I generally look at the the items being traded and decide which I would rather have if I never made another trade. Just a little insight.

I do recognize that this is for fun, and I do want to see it continue so I will do my best to accept an offer this week if others are open to it. Will give this the weekend for any new offers, otherwise will contact those that have made offers to gauge remaining interest.

Wanted to see if there are any thoughts about how to continue. Here are my thoughts.

1) End it. It's dead, over, fun while it lasted, but minimal interested for last 6 months means it is time to be done. Lock it and move on. 
2) Start over. New thread, new year, new trades. Straight from sticker to Cas.
3) Buy something with the 0.0125BTC and resume the trade with a new item purchased from the Coldkey load value.
4) Keep the trade live with peeled set #120 and 0.0125BTC to your wallet for a new traded item.
5) Other?

The way I personally see it is that I don't have any Coldkey product and in a weird way
want one now based on what has recently happened to help in another way someone
who has been affected by Yogg's act.

I'm having trouble sleeping ATM so I'm browsing in bed, I think I have something which
might work for the trade so will update this later.

Looks like #4 is in the lead. I guess I will keep it open for trade for now. If minimal interest then I will re-evaluate.

I have received two offers I am considering (one pre sweep, one post sweep), but putting a value on this is hard aside from the 0.0125BTC. I guess I am just looking for something of relative equal value that will be interesting to others for trade.

OH man! I really do love this for many reasons. Will have to think hard about trading for it again. It is now slabbed!  Almost want to just buy it so I can have it and not have to trade and part with it again.  :D

I am still open to trade offers, would like to trade UP, not sideways. I know everyone values items differently, but many of my trade offers and recent trades feel like I am going sideways. Not trying to be greedy, just part of the fun I guess, but the point is to trade up.
