Title: [SERVICE] Free Testnet Bitcoins
Post by: notblox1 on September 26, 2020, 01:07:49 AM
https://i.ibb.co/xhhhj9P/QzJJCEM.png

I have few extra TestNet Bitcoins and I am ready to share them with other people who really need them for FREE.

Local rules:
1. Post explanation why you need tBTC with your address and amount of coins you need.
2. I am not accepting requests from newbies and inactive members.
3. I would appreciate if you could send me coins back after testing.
4. I have the right to accept or refuse anyone.
5. No begging.

What is the Bitcoin testnet?
Alternative bitcoin blockchain used only for testing with no monetary value

It's nice that someone else is giving away tBTC but I don't think your thread belongs in this board since it's not discussing technical information about testnet or tBTC, you should probably move this thread to Marketplace > Services instead.

And make sure you check the post history of people asking you for tBTC, some users have been asking for it on this board for bounty purposes so we shouldn't encourage that usecase. tBTC is meant to be used to test blockchain applications.

Ok, I was not sure where to post this, but now it is moved to Marketplace>Services.
I know people are using tBTC for various purposes, but I stated in rules that I have the right to accept or refuse anyone.

I don't want to get rid of my testnet Bitcoins.
I want to help someone who needs more than faucets can offer.

Is this offer still available? My wife and I go to the hospital Monday to be induced into labor. Our third child (one has passed sadly) I am currently applying for jobs everywhere I can but no ones really hiring and we technically live below the poverty line. I also just want to say I think your choice to help people with your coins is honorable and admirable to say the least.

you realize your sad story/happy story is worthless right? Testnet btc is not btc you can sell for money, least not in most cases. The OP is trying to help out developers and others who would use these coins to test platforms like he did for me a month or so ago.

What is this?

Quote
There have been three generations of testnet. Testnet2 was just the first testnet reset with a different genesis block, because people were starting to trade testnet coins for real money.
https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Testnet

I just want to know what Testnet Bitcoin is so I searched Google and searched to get more information about it. I went to the wiki and that was one of the ones I read. I also found a wallet listed. So maybe you can also give me other details or sources to clarify?  I know very little and I don't know much about the technicalities and advanced learning of the bitcoin network.

Good fantasy story. You can write a book about it one day, but first you need to READ the rules I posted:

Local rules:

Bitcoin testnet have no monetary value!
It is used only for testing when developers are creating something new.
Before you start mainnet you test everything for bugs in testnet.

I repeat again, Bitcoin testnet coins have no monetary value!

I see you had account inactive since June 2020 and you are asking larger amount of t-bitcoins, so I would need some kind of explanation or proof for what project you and your team are exactly working on.
After that I will consider sending you some testnet coins.

@UmerIdree

You'll find tBTC useful if you want to test the ins and out of a bitcoin transaction whether your are going to use it just to experience sending bitcoin to a receiver, coin control, pay-to-many etc. It also doesn't have any monetary value.

Testnet wallet is usually bundled with bitcoin wallet like Electrum and Bitcoin Core after you have installed them in your computer. And you can access them by either typing a command or just by clicking the installed testnet program application.

In-depth explanation here:

I kinda get the feeling that you would look for someone to buy them. I could be wrong, but just the way you wrote," if I don't find them useful" makes me get that feeling.

Testnet bitcoin is mainly used by people testing their platform. Sending or withdrawing, testing gambling games, and things like that. As stated, they have no monetary value and there are a few faucets you can get small amounts from

I am not giving away testnet Bitcoins for fun, but you need to have a valid reason for needing them, and you should read the rules I posted before asking.
That means I will not teach you what wallet is supporting testnet and how to do the basics.

Please read first post I made in this topic.
I can send you larger amount of Bitcoin only if you provide more information and proof that you really need them for developing work.
Sorry but I wont send you testnet coins so you can keep them in your ledger wallet lie you say.

I would need about 1 tBTC, but I understand that it probably not your intention to give away such a large amount to single users. So I would als be happy if you could advice me on how to mine tBTC. I don't have the time to set up a mining pool myself, but I can connect to an existing one if you have a good recommendation. (If you don't mind to send 1 tBTC I would also be happy)

I said I can send you up to 0.1 tBTC if you want, take it or leave it.
You can do whatever multisig transaction you want and I don't think my previous post needs translation or more explanation.
I don't have any advice or recommendations for mining tesnet Bitcoin, so do your own research about that.

Bad news for you, I don't want to explain and say how exactly I obtained my coins and it's none of your business to know that :)
Good news for you is that 0.1 TestBitcoin is sent on address you posted and you should receive it after confirmation.
When you finish testing you can donate coins back to some testnet faucet if you want.

Did you know there's an actual exchange where you can list your coins?
https://altquick.com/exchange/market/BitcoinTestnet
I know about this exchange but I dont want to sell my testnet coins because they are worthless, I am giving them for FREE, and I myself need them sometimes.

Selling and buying something that is meant to be free for testing is not good, but people can do whatever they want to do.

I've always felt that testnet coins would be eventually treated as an alt and hold some sort of value, some treasure goblins probably waiting for that day.
 It's still a functional chain/coin, I'm kind of amazed BTC been worth up to 70k a coin but a testnet coin isn't even a penny.

I respect how it's gated and the community protects it too. Ie, no bounties, but devs can have it.

hi notblox1!

Our project, Arcus Labs, needs anywhere between 1-21 tBTC to test a BTC Native Lending and Borrowing Platform. Our first use case is BRC-20 Lending Market and but our main mission is easy UX Bitcoin Lending and Borrowing for Retail and Institutions alike. Once fees spike we will integrate with a BTC L2.

You can find our project on X -> @arcusbtc to verify. Our team can return 90-95% of the coins back once testing is complete and utilize the 5-10% to create a lending pool for Testnet Bitcoin that will remain active indefinitely!

Address: tb1qk2q4pgzzzw9v0y4r0dl55jlln25pypvnzupulg

Amount: 1-21 tBTC or any amount available.

Thank you in advance. We look forward to sharing the product soon with the bitcointalk community for all founders to utilize here soon.

I found arcus website and x profile for this project but how can I verify that you are part of this team, and not someone who is doing this for some financial reward?
Return of coins would be greatly appreciated, and for more coins I am usually asking for this.
Maybe we can talk more with personal messages.

That would be nice, and I will research your project more meanwhile.
Thank you for showing interest here.

Hello Sir!
I've read your thread and I need a small portion of tBTC to take part in a challenge created by one of the reputable members on our local forum. The challenge is to create a "Message / Data" in a Bitcoin Transaction (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5484291.0). The amount required is 0.00011111 tBTC to send and the fee is 0.00007777 tBTC. That's about 0.00019 according to my calculations.

Updated: Testnet Address: tb1q5s7kmz87h4p45fn5t4w7jvj28339yp84zg542q

I'm currently synchronizing blocks on the testnet.

Code:
{
  "chain": "test",
  "blocks": 1194656,
  "headers": 2577398,
  "bestblockhash": "000000000007f4540af7ad7e27faa658f5958dfe9c5a91470bee0508c9c4621f",
  "difficulty": 4096,
  "time": 1505239623,
  "mediantime": 1505238287,
  "verificationprogress": 0.219314675915932,
  "initialblockdownload": true,
  "chainwork": "00000000000000000000000000000000000000000000002a367a3ae6975ae9e4",
  "size_on_disk": 11820469852,
  "pruned": false,
  "warnings": ""
}

I will have to do research and will probably go through a trial and error process. Because in that challenge we have to find out how to do it without help from OP.

- Post short explanation why you need tBTC, your address and how much you need.
- Not sending coins to newbies, inactive woke up members and members with negative feedback.
- If you want you can send me coins back after testing, but it is not needed.
. You need to have a valid reason for asking tBTC.
- I have the right to accept or refuse anyone.
- No begging.

In the third point, I will try to return your coins after doing the challenge. But honestly I don't know if I can return it or not. Because I have never tried Bitcoin Testnet. But if the balance is still in my wallet and I can send it, I'm sure I will send it back to you, sir.

Regards,
Hanadawa
