Will Uniswap remain it's top position or is this just a hype?

Instead of saying most powerful, why not just put it as uniswap is a decentralized markets, that brings ease and convenience for everyone that wants to list their tokens on the platform. That aside, uniswap also assures this certain pump in price of token for any projects that list on the platform; irrespective of the price or kind of project.

For every pumps and profits uniswap grants projects and investors; the more influx of project that gets listed on the dex exchange.

So far this is the most effective and trending investing method you can use in the Defi market which the most talk nowadays. so, Yes.

Those who managed to joined the airdrop and invested in their pre-sales have become rich and will gonna hold their coins for long since the tendency of this investment to grow in these coming months are high. the only problem is we don't know when will this trend end.

Undoubtedly, UNISWAP is the largest DEFI in the entire market. The amount locked up in liquidity pools reaches over $ 2 billion. Other DEFI projects have shifted money to UNI because the profitability of UNI exploitation is higher and stable.
Recently the Yearn.finance project has fully mined their tokens, and now the value of YFI tokens is plummeting significantly.

It will as the UNISWAP is the most active defi in the market and just take a look at how the community of UNISWAP was also really active to develop more and more unique ideas to be implemented in the future update.
Compound and YFI should be placed below the UNISWAP.

More than 2 billions have already locked in the UNI too. That has proven this defi is the strongest one.

UNI tokens are able to create a breakthrough in an ongoing trend, I am sure that the many advantages in investing in UNI tokens and in trading with very high liquidity have surpassed other DeFi, which means a lot of trust in UNI tokens including those who get free airdrops.

We have to be ready in any situation because the end of this trend can be a risk that all DeFi tokens can drop drastically if we don't anticipate it.

Well uniswap is the real deal and uni will remain the top defi token in my opinion atleast till we see a bigger and better platform that can outperform the uniswap in this space. At the moment even centralized crypto businesses are under threat due to uniswap.

It's still on the early days so I believe that it's still on hype. But if its popularity remain within the next several months then it means that it's staying and it's not just all about hype.

It's clicking and the investors like the idea of defi and uniswap.

But it is what I'm thinking that let's wait for a few months and see what happens if those locked funds are released.

UniSwap is just first and the biggest DeFi market so far. It is too late to count who is most powerful or less. Just wait for a half more year or a year and see who will still remain in the market and who will disappear.

For example who was the first cryptocurrency exchange? BitcoinMarket.com. That day or year he was the most powerful, and where is he now ?

Uniswap is not just a hyped project but it's a real working project that can attract billion money to be locked on it. Is not that enough to prove the capability that has already owned by the uniswap?
This project will still remain at the top place as people are just feeling amazed with what has already done in the last event.
The governance that has already used looks so transparent compared with the same project that was working in the same field.

Just because of the airdrop it created some noise in the market but it looks the hype started to fade away or atleast with the UNI since the value started to dump once after people started to claim their tokens and selling on other centralized exchanges.It has 40% is on the hold for the next 4 years so it couldn't be dumped very huge but still manipulators will take advantage of less distribution of tokens.

It's no wonder that UNISWAP has attracted a lot of eyeballs since it's launched but there's no guarantee that it will continue to hold its top position. It has indeed gathered liquidity worth more than 2 billion USD but everything is so liquid in nature, you can't bet on anything.

The entire Defi market is full with scammers right at the moment and we have already seen a lot of exit scams happening here. But it looks good so far and even I have got my hands dirty with Uniswap. We can just hope for the best!

the launch of this uni token was really a good move, a genius and in my opinion this will make uniswap remain at the top of the charts of defi / exchange sites for some time, at least a year I would say...

Uniswap should compete with YFI or YFII because the price is too far and has a big difference. But I don't know with the future because what happens in the crypto market can not predict, and we can see many things have changed already. If Uniswap can give better than the other DeFi projects, then Uniswap can be the most powerful in the Defi market. I am still waiting to buy some Uni because I think the price can increase as soon as the market rises again.

Untill now uniswap is obviously the king in the defi market but they will have to keep following the trends and market demands in future to stay updated and keep dominating the market otherwise we have seen some biggest names 2-3 years ago are not even found easily now as this space is fast moving and changing with the trends.

Uniswap is the best decentralized Ethereum-based exchange in my opinion. However, the dependence on Ethereum is a problem. Swap fees can be extremely high, depending on how busy the Ethereum network is. That is why I believe that Uniswap can only remain competitive in the long term if Ethereum also develops positively. I hope that Uniswap 3.0 will eventually support more platforms and crypto ecosystems. Then Uniswap could become the decentralized Binance.

It will remain on top position until it crumbles. We all know how the hype market works, and sooner or later it will dry up causing a lot of people to loss their money and that is the cycle. Although we are still in the beginning of the phase, others are going to make a lot of money out of it, no doubt But what happens if the market is saturated? Well we have seen what happen to ICO before, so I won't be surprised if this happen to Uniswap hype and much worst.

So you know that this is cyclical, so it's up to you, whether to ride and exit early.

Uniswap will probably hold its position as most powerful in defi market for long and it's honestly on par with all those centralized exchanges if you see how they cross $2 billions and also the cause of significant price increase within ethereum blockchain. If only ethereum blockchain could endure the massive traffic flow from uniswap and other defis and dapps maybe Uniswap will get even more recognition in the future. I doubt we gonna see another kind of service taking over uniswap position because tbh there are already some and none of them on par with uniswap.

It's just a hype , are they going to remain in that price well no one can answer you directly for that but hopefully they can . It's just a good starting point of hype of many defi project it will open a new opportunity for other and scammers will also take this as opportunity to make them more money. I don’t look much into these DeFi, but this UniSwap is always capturing my attention almost everywhere I go in the forum and whenever DeFi is being talked about. Before it used to be YFI that so many people were talking about and then UniSwap came out from nowhere like a wave and swept every other from their feet and is now the trend.

So, it might definitely be the biggest and powerful there is right now. And apart from the part you have mentioned, the project has also broken records with its airdrop, they are just on a full rage with this project, and I hope that they keep that same energy as time goes on.

UniSwap has its own power to attract large audiences and has become a very popular exchange

As we see they dominated the whole Defi market with the trend they have right now, As we see the airdrop promotion they did in the past few weeks caught up too many ears that give them much liquidity than other DeFi tokens. DeFi tokens are hyped and the hype is naturally be extinguished over the time when a new trend comes. But as of now, I think they will maintain their spot in the market.

Do you know that trading volume on uniswap platform has also grown over 100% in september which just goes to show that the real investors and traders are being attracted to uniswap now and all its growth in recent times confirms this.

To the best of my knowledge, Uniswap is a decentralized exchange (DEX) and with the rate it is growing, I think I have every reason to believe it is becoming the best Decentralized exchange. Also, to remain at the top comes with many things and one of the most important is consistency, that is, if the team can be consistent and true to their goals and objectives, then Uniswap can be regarded as the best DEX. Currently, I can't think of any Dex that can challenge Uniswap both in terms of liquidity, users and hype; just like it is in the case of Binance wherein people clamour for new projects to list on Binance, same is going for Uniswap wherein people now clamours for new projects to list on Uniswap.
To answer your question, I would say it a combination of both hype, liquidity and seriousness of the team. Binance didn't rose to such height by sitting down, the team did many things and took many steps, so if Uniswap can do that as well, then it can be the best and maybe most powerful DEX.

Uniswap was definitely the place to go if you wanted to invest in any of those defi projects that appeared in the last weeks and months.
I mean its obvious you don't need to wait for a CEX to approve your application. You just open up a pool yourself and provide liquidity and thats it.
This also means though that anyone can add his scam coin to uniswap without further checking.

Uniswap is I think having the most volume of all of the DeFi exchanges, even it could be having the highest volume of all the decentralized exchanges. But I don't think that the Scammers would provide any liquidity to the token that they created as then they would be risking their own money that they are sure is going to loose if they provide liquidity in the exchange. People are also crazy over DeFi right now and I think this is a bubble which is going to bust, I mean there is no way that a coun that was launched a month ago will gain $500 million market valuation without having any advantages over its predecessors, unless we are living in a bubble, just like the housing market of 2008.

Uniswap has been launched in 2018 and since its hype still didn't end. This had really brought up a significance to DEX that big projects related to Defi also come up. So far its Uniswap that made all the hype in crypto bringing more investors.  If its not for the opportunity Uniswap had given to the traders like yield farming, there might be lesser investors on it.

AFAIK, Uniswap holds more than 60% of trading volume of all the decentralized exchanges so yeas its kind of powerful at the moment but how long they are going to sustain here?

Transaction fees are not really in the favour of traders so people are not going to trade there much often or constantly.

We have seen this before now and the end results wasn't good rather end in baddest. We shouldn't be in a hurry to draw the conclusion about uniswap going to be the best in the industry. Hope we don't see the opposite of this uniswap defi project like what we saw during the errand of ICO. Well Uniswap was pioneer of DeFi and basically for now of course it will become a most powerful on the market but over time maybe there will be another Platform that surpass Uniswap, It will just matter of time. It is just a HYPE in my own opinion. UNISWAP itself is not thoroughly decentralized as 70% of its market cap rely heavily on stablecoin which is centralized. The only thing I can notice is that we are making progress gradually to the world of decentralization.

Sooner or later there will be time where the growth of the uniswap will be stabilized or reach a constant zone and decline in growth is also possible especially if they do not come up with the solution of high transaction fee issue.

Powerful or shall we say influencial? Uniswap is indeed one of the best defi projects and I could say it has influenced a lot of defi projects as well. But there are other Defi projects too that has been influencial like YFI coins but they could not make as influencial like bitcoin. When we will tak about bitcoin market we can say that almost 50% of of total of cryptocurrency market is for bitcoin and the rest are for altcoins. If uniswap could surpass bitcoin then I will agree with the OP that uniswap could be the most powerful or influencial coin of cryptocurrency.

Despite the fact that we have new DeFi projects and protocols, Uniswap will always remain on top of the food chain. It's has the first mover advantage which is one unique trait that has kept bitcoin #1 in the market for years now. The concept of having users to provide the liquidity themselves is mind-blowing.

UNISWAP team did their best just to capture the market demand and finally got the attention of many. I'm not thinking about being powerful because we are not talking about whos powerful and whos not, but we talk about reliable projects and that UNISWAP had done it. With this market competition, with this Defi market, UNISWAP leads them all and what we wanted to see is that they will keep their momentum and not just being in hypes that usually think.

I do agree, not powerful but right now they may be popular. But for how long they can hold this position? What will happen when most of these DeFis that are listed on their platform disappeared or gone because let's admit it, most of them are crap and have no real use case. Just pump and dump tokens. So are they going to collapse once those tokens are out of their market? How can they sustain their position in the DeFi market?

I say its just a hype. Ive heard of uniswap before but it never really reeled me in because of the higher fees, good on the people who used it still tho, they got their hands on the sweet sweet airdrop.

I think that UniSwap is in its reign and power as of the moment in the DeFi market because knowing how it hype the crypto-community in just a limited period of time and has crossed that huge amount meaning to say that UniSwap is one of the best DeFi protocol that this platform have.

It was already making coinbase equivalent volume even without launch of uni token, any token can be traded there as long as they are unlocked, and tons of ethereum tokens are created daily. I believe it gonna go further even more when ethereum fees lessens a bit with launch of ethereum 2.

The power of uniswao has come from a lot of people who have been feeling good with the product that has already created by uniswap. I should remind you about that if uni has already owned a very ver big community and it's the same as the major coins.

Uniswap really gets attention from many people, but it doesn't mean that the Uniswap is the most powerful in the DeFi market because there is many more DeFi project in that market. It is normal to see the token getting popularity in their beginning, especially if the price can increase high. Still, the matter is how the project can compete with the other project's DeFi project because I am sure that the other DeFi project will try to do the same thing as Uniswap.

We will see it later what will happen with that project, and the market, whether it's the DeFi market, bitcoin market, and altcoin market still trying to lift the price. The important thing here is if you can still take the benefits from the project, you should still use it and leave it if it's not profitable anymore.

the obstacle for traders at Uniswap is that the fee is too large. requires large capital to be able to trade there. I don't think that's the problem with the ethereum network. However, the fees charged by Uniswap are already high. there may be a reduction in the future when the ethereum network is fully adapted.

Can't say what will happen in the future but as of now, they are completely dominating the DeFi space the volume flowing through them is unreal, and once they launch the v3 of their DEX it would be a game-changer.

yes, Uniswap platform is very strong, most of the new projects at this time either Defi or other ico projects are starting to register their projects on Uniswap platform. Maybe the developer thinks that DEX is the main tool for the progress of a project at the moment, but there is no denying that despite its very high fees, Uniswap is one of the top DEX platforms in the crypto market today.

I personally do not like uniswap at all in an individual manner but also I have to accept that right now uniswap is something people are really looking into, I am not sure if it is the biggest one because there are ones which are amazingly big right now so I am not sure if uniswap is the biggest, but I am certain that it is high up there, even if it is not the biggest (which it has a chance to be) it is certainly in top 5 for sure.

It is going to continue to grow as well if it keeps going like this, I am not sure if it will be sustainable growth, I don't know what happens when people can't sell their free bounty and airdrops but if they can that means uniswap could become bigger and at that point it will become no question the biggest defi out there in the world.

I think they would be the "undisputed" protocol in the DeFi market. One of the setbacks that we have experienced on Uniswap these days are higher than average gas fees, and it's only compatible to Ethereum-based tokens. As for the other blockchains like Stellar Lumens, TRON, NEO and so on, they're having different platforms for swapping their own tokens.

It's just easy for us to connect our wallets to Uniswap (Metamask is my main). As long these high gas fees cannot be solved in the long run, more and more users might consider moving to other blockchains where transaction fees are not an issue when swapping from token to token.

Uniswap will be the king for DEX in etherum protocol. But remember, uniswap is just a platform for dex trading. Uniswap does not affect Defi, it is Defi's project that affects the sustainability of Uniswap. If you say hype, you are referring to uniswap token (UNI). Uniswap does not need hype, because uniswap is not a coin. Uniswap is one type of services in etherum protocol. Uniswap is famous coz their services present at the right time and at same time, YFI emergence helped boost uniswap popularity.

Uniswap is a fundamental project of the DePhi ecosystem.
Such a project cannot be scammed and its tokens can grow in price several times.

I think that because of the craze and the hype that UniSwap done in the market for the past weeks, I can safely say that it is one of the best and the most powerful DeFi project that this platform and blockchain have.

The hype is still around the uniswap and this will be forever. I think that you should take a look at how active their github.

It definitely is now! Uniswap is fast and user-friendly. It is a little like Bancor but fully decentralized. I like the exchange, DeFi projects are very dynamic and markets are alive.

The adoption by all too centralized exchange of their new token just improve their awareness and the airdrop they did that token the community by storm brought in great publicity especially as their timing was right.

I agree with you and they have the token going along nicely too, the volume for UNI coin was massive in it is initial days of trading at binance and there is no reason one can say the token will not help the overall success of the uniswap as an exchange.

They are the most recognized and well known decentralized exchange right now in the market and how they fairly distributed coins make them even more legitimate and my trust in them has increased way more after that act. They could have adopted any other way and might have ended up messing the distribution but everyone was impressed how they gave their tokens and I was very impressed too because initially it looked bad after what happened with sushi swap.

Defi world is too big to allow one of them to be too big, they are right now dealing with billions of dollars all together which means it can never be leader ever, there are too many leaders, they are all leaders basically, which is why I believe it is quite important that people realize there are only good ones and bad ones, not best and worst ones.

If you invest into a bad defi you will lose money, if you invest into good defi you will profit, doesn't matter which one specifically, all good ones are good and there is no difference between one good one and the other good one, same applies for bad ones where they have no difference between each other as well. So do not focus on trying to find the best, just try to find one that is good and you will profit a lot from it.

Maybe it is. From the airdrop that it took which gave money to many testers and early supporters, this has shown the potential for others.

The most powerful? :o I think this trend of a thing is confusing a lot of people. I have not been following up much with these DeFi projects, but if I’m right, there are other DeFi projects that has bigger market capitalization than this UniSwap, so how is it any better. The number one DeFi token is ChainLink and it has the biggest market cap.; The market is more than $3 billion, and it’s followed Wrapped Bitcoin (WBTC).

This UniSwap token is not even in the top five. Yearn.finance has a market cap that is bigger than UNI and the market price once went up like crazy, I think up to $30,000 (it’s currently around $20,000). Uniswap is good, but if you’re going to use the word powerful, I won’t agree with that.

Uniswap is one of the first DeFi projects, the founder of a new direction in cryptocurrency operations. This does not mean that it is the most powerful and the best, but it is the first and has earned a reputation as a reliable crypto exchanger.

If we trace back to history when Uniswap was launched, you will agree with me that there are some projects out there that aren't just hype but based on demand, supply, and real-use-case. It's a pity that Uniswap came into limelight when DeFi hype began, for a project that has started from way back November 2018. That was one of the worst year for bitcoin and crypto industry. Looking at their development, they have achieved a lot from version 1 to 3 (v1, v2, v3) but Ethereum congestion limitations isn't making it convincing for every one to fully adopt decentralized exchange. The last two month were crazy fee just to swap a token, it's not friendly for a common traders like me.

Most likely it is going to be the first decentralized exchange with a very high volume, it's taken our attention because of the airdrop and because of the liquidity, let's hope that UNISWAP will be stable and free from hacking it's time for the decentralized exchange to shine, it's been a long time that centralized exchanges are ruling the industry.

Yes, we know that Uniswap has succeeded in becoming a defi market with extraordinary daily volume, no wonder that Uniswap managed to get 2 billion. Of course the role of investors here is very strong, so it is not uncommon for some tokens to be expensive.

That is right and actually people were glad that the high fees they had to pay for trading at uniswap was covered by the airdrop they did and now everyone is happy but the true fact that the exchange fees is abnormally high still remains and hurts traders. I mean yes it feels good people got some hefty amount of coins for free but the basic problem of trading fees/transaction fees still remains and they need to work on it if possible.

But all those being said, a decentralized exchange as smooth and transparent as ever has every chance to become the largest exchange if not already and perform good just the fees issue needs to be looked upon and fixed asap.

This would ideally be the direction in which crypto should develop. Decentralized trading exchanges offer much more security, but it is also associated with a more cumbersome handling, which leads many to continue to prefer centralized exchanges. Furthermore, exchanges like Uniswap are extremely ecosystem bound, like on Ethereum. If the network is overloaded and fees are increasing, trading can be extremely slow and expensive. The goal should therefore be to build Atomic Swaps exchanges, as Komodo project is trying to do.

UNI didn’t stay on the Top 10 DeFi project and its down to Ranked 12, so I can assume that those are just the hype and investors are just riding the waves and will sell later on. The hype started on big airdrop and followed by the good news, now the big challenge for UNI is to regain its top position and continue delivering good services and not just a hype token. The platform Uniswap is very helpful, and I’m looking for more updates under this platform.

Yes that is for sure that UniSwap is one of the most powerful DeFi project that has been made at this point in time knowing how in just a short period of time it makes a very high boost in the market I definitely and strongly believe that it is the best Defi project of all time.

I would say the most contagious rather than "the most powerful". Some market makers are already talking of "UniSwap pandemic" spreading to crypto holders. The risk of being scammed trading on UnisWap is  big and real because in reality virtualy any token (including the scam one) can be listed there.  I'm maybe  saying something not popular right now but DeFi as a whole and Uniswap as part   are capable to  create a new systemic risk  to crypto  that has the potency to  torpedo   its mass adoption if the sum of the scam on UnisWap would  prevail.

For now, other players will not appear immediately because the influence of the hype at this time is still very strong, making people tend to believe in the hype, but it is also unknown how long it will last.

as of now i think it is because it has a huge volume and very popular as well, uniswap is most used dex out there in recent times, almost like all defi and most non-defi project want to be in uniswap, and the way it seems it will continue to grow even stronger because the defi trend has just begun, even by next year i think there will be more defi project and most if not all will be listed on uniswap, so uniswap will be in control for long.

In the present period, Uniswap is the best for DiFi. But there is some limitation. High transaction fee is one of them. Trading is difficult because first you need to transfer your asset to wbtc than other coin like BTC or ethereum. Neverthless Uniswap is best for security.

i thought your going to say that in the present period uniswap is not a thing anymore but am i right ? the noise of defi is starting to go down. i dont have a hate to them but im just saying what i observed on this market. fees or high fees is not a limitation because if you really like the exchange you will do anything even if it cost you more just to trade on it but speaking of fees , arent the fees return to normal now ? im talking about eth , or this exchange uniswap is permanently set to have a seperate high trading fees .?

I have been following the development of uniswap since it was still a small defi project. Since then, the platform has grown big that most crypto and new project uses their platform to moonshot their crypto. I have been checking the platform for new projects to be release and swap there and so far I have greatly benefit and gained a lot from it.

Now a days Uniswap is best for Defi. All Defi token are listing on uniswap. Uniswap is going to favourite for all investors and traders because they get profie by staking. And also uniswap is very secure for investors.

at least uniswap has a platform and a roadmap in the long run, so it won't experience an instant drop when the hype ends, and uniswap dex is still very much in use.

I personally used UniSwap before and the experience is I can say good and easy. UniSwap is currently at number 1 spot of dex exchanges right now as per

It is not always more expensive actually, i have used uniswap for few years now and you can always edit the transaction fee and the limit to reduce the overall fee charged. I actually prefer this as you receive your traded coin directly to your wallet without having to withdraw separately.

We should not pretend that Uniswap is comparable to Bitinex and other large centralized exchanges. Uniswap is still a dwarf and its high market capitalization is pure belief that it can become something big like Binance. UNI has a big disadvantage because it is currently only based on ETH and the network costs are sometimes very high, which can make UNI unattractive compared to centralized exchanges.
