Post by: Use Your Brain on October 15, 2020, 05:30:59 AM

Just answering because you quoted me here.

1 - why the fuck would you wan't to know that?
2 - most of this is easy enough to find out by yourself. Do the job if you really want to know.
3 - the only unhealthy thing here is asking for these kind of details from people you absolutely don't know. What's next? Full KYC?

Most people in a position of trust would probably tell you to safeguard your identity.

One method would be to provide a red-herring location, pretending to be from such a country when you reside somewhere else. A further level would be to do a double-bluff of that vein, or perhaps triply so.

Which is it... rock, paper, or scissors?

How is it going to be healthy? Just like what asche said, you could find it for yourself. Most of the members probably have posted on their respective local boards. You could just check it out there. I hope you act on your username, "Use Your Brain".

I have been quoted for nothing , what a waste.
IMO, this is just a waste of effort, and besides this will only give benefits on shitheads so they can somewhat threaten them  for knowing their places LoL.

it would be healthy
May I ask for the purpose of this wasted effort?
if you ask me it isn't goig to be healthy, LoL.

This is normal for his brain.
kyc is normal for bitcoin for reasons already stated.

OP let's start with you, tell us where you are from and what have you forgotten here? And also tell me how many accounts you have here?

@LoyceV has left off about a dozen UID's that are DT1 at the moment.

The DT update log can be found here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5117330.msg55303306#msg55303306 and is updated with the 100 who are randomly selected to be DT1 for that month each month around the 3rd to 5th of the month.

Why?  What's it to you?

If you sit 1-2 hours in front of a laptop/computer, you will find out which country they are from.

You create an account name named: (Use Your Brain), but you don't use it, use it you will find the answer. ok.

In what sense this would be healthy? Like a healthy diet...? Meaning it would benefit your overall personal health? Or... will that be a benefit for other user's body health? I'm not sure I understand to what kind of health you are referring. Can you offer more details about this health, please?

I'm a person interested in well-being and health, generally speaking, this is why I;m curious. I bet that also the other users would be interested in this health. Is it like a nextgen diet of some sort? Please enlighten us all. Thx!

Again?
You can all stop speculating, after KYC has been implemented, I am now officially Verified human (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5124947.msg50403762#msg50403762) :D
https://loyce.club/other/human.jpg

@LoyceV has left off about a dozen UID's that are DT1 at the moment.
I only show DT1-users with "DT1-strength" greater than or equal to (0). If it's negative, they have no say in who's on DT2 (although they can still vote for other DT1-members).

Not healthy at all. Most DT members especially those who hunt and tag scammers could easily be targeted by unhappy parties and even doxxed. While some people are happy to share their personal information online. Not everyone is.

IF you want to know people's Countries of origin or Languages they speak then this forum is not for you. Maybe try social media like Facebook, Twitter...

1 - why the fuck would you wan't to know that?
OP registered on July 26, 2020, has 13 posts, and I don't remember seeing any of them.  If this question was being asked by someone who'd been around longer (like maybe by at least a year), then I wouldn't have suspicions about there being a wolf in sheep's clothes lurking about.  It's reasonable to be curious about something like what OP asked, but there's no way a newbie is going to get even very general personal info about any members here just by asking.

2 - most of this is easy enough to find out by yourself. Do the job if you really want to know.
I don't think it would be an easy job at all, unless a DT member posts on a local board, but even then that doesn't mean they live in that country.  So unless all of them have posted what country they're from in previous posts, I think it'd be very difficult to figure it out easily--and they could be lying anyway in order to increase their privacy.

But yeah, OP....not a good question to be asking on a bitcoin forum, especially at your rank.

The DT members are from all over the world, from many different cultures, and speak many many different languages..

It does not matter where a user is located as long as they have access to the internet and their character and actions get them elected to be on DT.. Most DT voters obviously do not discriminate based on country of origin or language spoken other than it would be unlikely to get DT members elected who speak no English at all.. Some even barely speak English..

I am not trolling you, but discussion about location would be unhealthy for DT members. A major part of DT members has been posting on their local boards, which means you can simply spot their country. But those hadn't posted on the local board means they don't want to reveal their location. I don't know others, but I am hiding my identity or location because my government does not allow to use bitcoin. Since this forum is about bitcoin discussion then no doubts it would harmful for me. So revealed my country would unhealthy for me if caught by authorities.

Maybe you have no idea, asking such personal info in this community is equal to lifetime prison. You are now wanted and if you get caught then your destination will be somewhere in an unknown island. And you will never come back to your family.

Actually, he's just riffing on the classic song Down Under (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XfR9iY5y94s) by the Australian rock band Men at Work. I'd accuse him of plagiarism, but part of that song was itself plagiarised (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Men_at_Work#Copyright_lawsuit_and_the_death_of_Greg_Ham) from another classic Australian song, because what else can you expect from a country founded by criminals?

EDIT: Oh great, now he's doing it with American songs. There's no excuse for that.

How about giving as information the coins that they hodl instead of their country of origin?
In the crypto ecosystem there are no boarders. We are all members of the same beliefs.

We are here for the crypto!

i know this is why i ask  why so much hostiliy?
Everyone is just trying to help your pre mature brain and when it will be enough mature you will start to use your own brain. Its the only way by which you will be able to know how you are wasting your time by creating a topic like this.

I am from the land where "Sun rise in the east and set in the west".

it would be healthy if all DT member said their country of origin and languages speak

thank LoyceV for list

want to know where all from and language speak.

I don't understand how it will be healthy for anyone to know where the DT members belongs unless you want to send any gift to them on their home address :D

Most of the members do not want to disclose their identity and why do they need to do that ?  We love bitcoin because of many reasons and one because it is anonymous. Let the DT members be anonymous and don't dig into things which have no productive benefit.

why so much hostiliy?

Indeed.  What are these paranoiacs afraid of?

I give my full KYC dox, including my precise location, and even my biometrics on my profile page:

Name:nullius
Date of Birth:March 29, 2017, 08:17:00 AM
Fingerprint:PGP: 0xC2E91CD74A4C57A105F6C21B5A00591B2F307E0C
Sex:Male
Age:3
Location:terra nullius, cypherspace

I speak zero or more languages.  At least one of them is English.

Now, Mr Use Your Brain, please be a gentlething and disclose to us your personally identifying information.

OP asked where I am from. I am simply answering through the medium of song.

Du bist hier im meinem Land
Meine Welle und mein Strand

I duly answer OP’s demand:
My ancestral home is No Man’s Land.

If wrong was the question, let’s not OP belittle:
For song tells all truth, encrypted in riddle.

If the question
  seems
    to be
      i̸̺̗͓̮̱̺̩͊͒̂́ͅn̴̢̧̰̻͙̞̤̂̆̈̂͛͌͋͊̂̍s̴̙̥̄̃̀̏̊̇͛̓̑̅͛͒̐̾͗͜ȁ̴̡̳̫̲̠̼̦̪̥̯͋̓̓͌͗̈́̚͠͝ͅṅ̶̡̦̰̠̥̹̘͉̱̱̣̞̓͗̈̇̌̀͛͘e̷̛̯͍̝̺͓͒͌͊̑̈́̆,̶̜̅̂
Then answer
  cheerfully—and
    Use
      Your
        Brain!

I am in an expansive mood.  And drunk—figuratively or literally.  Also, sonnets cost BTC.

I am from Mars. I speak Trumpian. I am orange. Have a great day! 😂

Well people know where you're from so shut up scammer supporter.

Most people use tor and or along with other obfuscation here for a reason.
So the idea is not sensible for most users.
I mean the very famous ones are known anyway.

But maybe if you want to be on DT? then that could be a sensible requirement ? Scammers and nefarious scum obviously wouldn't want that. Maybe full KYC is a sensible requirement for those that want to be cops ?

Yes, near to 2,000,000 (BTT users) /divided by 200 (countries),  That is about 10,000 BTT user per country  ;D  ;D

+1 WO Merit (Wall Observer merit -- I have several just laying around) for including the correct area code for Burbank phone numbers. That means Marvin the Martian is a valley dweller. People from L.A. proper look down on those whose phone numbers start with "818". It means you weren't successful enough to live in Downtown or Hollywood and obtain a 323 or the most coveted 310 (Beverly Hills, Malibu) area code.

Yes, near to 2,000,000 (BTT users) /divided by 200 (countries),  That is about 10,000 BTT user per country  ;D  ;D

This forum does not have anywhere even close to two million active real-life individual users.  Many accounts are inactive, and/or are alts (especially from large-magnitude spammer alt farms).

Whatever the number of active individual users may be, it cannot be evenly divided between every country on Earth.  I would expect that the numeric majority of users are probably from the United States.  If you live in a small country with very few Bitcoin users, then you could practically dox yourself just by saying where you are.

And even ten thousand is way too small an anonymity set for some—especially because other leaked bits of information can further partition that set into smaller and smaller pieces.  For example, if you disclose whether (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5282911.msg55409732#msg55409732) you are male or female (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5282911.msg55409881#msg55409881), leak any significant information about your age, etc., etc.

Some people choose to disclose various bits of information.  But you should always be aware of how each piece of information that you disclose forms another partition of your anonymity set, which overlaps with the other partitions in a Venn Diagram.  That is called an intersection attack.  If you disclose too much information, an investigator (or a cyberstalker) can keep intersecting these sets to whittle down the possibilities until your anonymity set converges on 1 member, i.e. you.

For opsec, if you value your privacy, you need to learn to think about this in rigorous terms.
