Consensus - Hybrid of PoA, LPoS, PoS. With the name of UPoS (Ultimatum PoS)

Coin Emission Logic - Supply will be equivalent 1:1 to BTC. All bonuses for staking and ownership will be used transaction commission by BTCU economic policy.

Atomic swaps are a method that provides the ability to quickly exchange
cryptocurrencies working on different blockchains. This process, also known as atomic
cross-chain trading, is based on smart contracts and allows users to trade coins directly
from their wallets.

          The main barriers to the broad implementation and
application of blockchain technologies is the use of established and highly
inefficient mining protocols relying on cumbersome and power-intensive
equipment.

One of the best features of cross swaps is the lack of need for intermediary tokens.
Meaning that if a user has LTC and wants to buy BTCU, under current exchange
options, the user will have to sell their LTC for BTC and then buy BTCU.

The commission for conducting public transactions on the network is 0.00000100
 BTCU (100 sat). The commission can be increased by the Validators via voting if the network load grows and the cost of maintaining the network increases.

🔹 BTCU is based on a combination of viable solutions that employ technological innovation to address and expand opportunities for applying blockchain technology. The basic operation principles of each technology in the BTCU ecosystem works in a usual mode for users or developers. These techs were specially developed to make their use as convenient as possible, and the transition to the BTCU network was achieved without having to spend extra resources.

😏 Here we are again. Today we’d like to talk about UPoS. What is it? UPoS refers to Ultimatum PoS - a New Decentralized consensus algorithm based on a combination of LPoS & PoA, considered as a more democratic principle.

🔹️ Leased Proof-of-Stake (LPoS) allows everyday users with no technical expertise to help secure the network, leasing their BTCU to full nodes without losing control of their coins. Whereas PoA is for validating and generating new blocks.

Ok, that’s clear, but how does it work❓
Everything is based on validators - masternodes that generate blocks and confirm them on the network - and leasing. We will tell you what masternodes and leasing are in our upcoming  #AsEasyAsBTCU editions.

⚡️ BTCU’s first 10 validators include large exchanges, cryptocurrency projects and development companies. One of which is Prof-IT Blockchain Limited, as a development team. The remaining validators will be elected as partners or advisers, each of whom is independent of each other in terms of creating blocks and voting decisions.

👍 Now, briefly, on voting. It is the process of decision making by validators about any events on the network. This may relate to operations such as changing transactions or transactions for implementing smart contracts, fulfilling conditions (i.e. staking and leasing in a required amount as an indicator of community trust)

I entered my BTC address in the explorer search box but it says “Nothing found”. Why❓
- Make sure you enter your BTC address correctly. All airdrop participants who held BTC on their private wallets at the time of the fork (block 669204) may check their BTCU accruals in the explorer now.

- Those who held their BTC on exchanges that supported the fork CAN NOT see their BTCU now, as all accruals for exchanges will be credited later.

- For those who held their BTC on custodial wallets which do not belong to exchanges that supported the fork WILL NOT receive an AirDrop.

When will the BTCU rewards be credited on the exchanges' wallets❓
- BTCU accruals will occur once the coins are released on those exchanges. After that, exchanges will credit BTCU to users who had BTC in their account at the time of the fork.

What if I held my bitcoins on an exchange that ignored Airdrop at the time of the fork❓
- You can still get your BTCU by providing proof of BTC balance at the time of the fork. Also, the exchanges that decide to distribute BTCU coins among users that met the airdrop conditions will be able to receive them by filling out an application and contacting the BTCU team.

Where can I get the Masternode address❓

If I didn't have BTC before February 5, will I be eligible to receive BTCU❓

ℹ️ To put it simply, a masternode is a complete node that supports the operations of a network by performing specific computing tasks and at the same time keeping the full copy of the blockchain in real-time.

🔹 For example, each user of the BTCU network can transfer or receive a private transfer of BTCU coins by transferring them from one public address of the network to the other. Such transactions are not displayed in the public network. They are stored and processed by the Masternodes and are confirmed by the Validators. Functioning as the backbone of the network, it generates blocks; by way of validating and adding them to the BTCU public blockchain.

👨🏻‍🏫 The current week is almost upon us. Let it go down by our regular #AsEasyAsBTCU post. This time we’ll briefly talk about the importance of BTCU validators.

🔹 As you are fully aware, the BTCU UPoS (Ultimatum PoS) consensus algorithm is a combination of Leased Proof of Stake (LPoS) and Proof of Authority (PoA). LPoS enable everyday users with no technical know-how to help secure the network, leasing their BTCU to full nodes without losing control of their coins. Whereas PoA is for validating and block generation. Therefore, everything is based on validators.

Wait, who are the validators❓
Owners of masternodes are also known as validators. They are responsible for creating block and validating transaction on the BTCU network. Considering LPoS enable validators to use their processing power to directly process transactions, it speeds up blocks creation on the BTCU network compared to PoW and PoS based blockchains. LPoS supports using the most manageable mechanisms for block creation, using inexpensive hardware with high integrity. Again, in this system, a relatively small number of network nodes must agree with block validation to consider all transactions to be included in the main chain.

🔹 Like any other structure, BTCU has its driving forces — the first 10 validators that include large exchanges, cryptocurrency projects, and development companies. The remaining validators are elected as partners or advisors. Each is independent of the other in terms of block creation or voting decisions.

It’s Thursday, BTCU battalion❗️

What does it mean for all of us❓It’s the middle of the working week and also the right time for another #AsEasyAsBTCU episode. Today we’ll be happy to elaborate a bit more on - the principle of anonymity and the Zerocoin protocol.

Anonymization of transactions is actualized through the integration of Zerocoin protocol, which presents tremendous benefits for users, such as:

🔹Zerocoin works without relying on a central coin issuer or bank (as used in previous electronic money schemes). Moreover, since no trusted party controls the system, attacks should take over a significant part of the entire network (51%) which is extremely difficult and expensive.

🔹This protocol uses secure cryptographic techniques to ensure that transactions are not traceable. These methods allow users to carry out transactions on the BTCU network with strict mathematical guarantees that transactions are untraceable. These guarantees remain valid even if an attacker compromises part of the network.

🔹Other anonymous money systems rely on distributing the work of users anonymizing among a set of parties. This approach works well if all parties are fully reachable, but can be subject to “denial of service” attacks where a small number of nodes go down. Since Zerocoin is based on Bitcoin, it is widely distributed among all Bitcoin peer nodes, ensuring that the system can remain accessible even when many nodes are hacked.

🔹With this protocol, users can make direct payments to each other using a much more efficient cryptographic protocol that hides the amount of the payment and not just its source.

Each user can convert non-anonymous BTCU into anonymous coins, which we call zBtcu. Based on Zerocash protocol, this is a privacy-enhancing, digital currency built on strong science. Transact efficiently and safely with low fees while ensuring digital transactions remain private. Selectively share address and transaction information for auditing or regulatory compliance.

We are continuing to provide you with more information about Atomic Swaps. Today we’ll explore why the BTCU’s Atomic swaps are so special.

👨🏻‍🏫 The most basic advantages of atomic swaps are related to the decentralization, which eliminate the need for a centralized exchange or any other form of intermediary. Cross-chain cryptocurrency exchanges can be carried out between two or more parties without the need to trust each other. The security level of swaps is also much higher, since users do not need to transfer their funds to a centralized exchange or a third party. Instead, transactions can occur directly between two user wallets.

The BTCU dev team plans to integrate atomic swaps into the BTC Ultimatum chain to enable the implementation of smart contracts not only on BTCU but also with other popular blockchains.

The main advantages offered by the BTCU Atomic Swaps are the following:

🔹Interoperability between different assets is a major problem with cryptocurrencies. Atomic swaps will allow users from different networks to interact freely on a peer-to-peer basis.

🔸Atomic swaps will enable trustless and fee-free decentralized exchanges.

🔹Centralized exchanges are also suspected of internal maintenance issues and corruption. Wallet maintenance or disabled withdrawals are big problems. Atomic swaps give users full control of their funds.

🔸Since atomic swaps directly connect two wallets, they eliminate all the steps and confirmations required by centralized exchanges.

🔹Atomic swaps make the crypto ecosystem more “currency agnostic” because people with different crypto assets will be able to interact with each other on equal grounds as in the fiat world.

🔸Centralized exchanges are open to a host of attacks. Atomic swaps do away with the need for having a third party and make trading direct.

🔹Direct wallet-to-wallet trading epitomizes decentralization in its purest form. Exchanges are constantly targeted for regulation purposes, which makes trading processes increasingly centralized.

Recently, we’ve talked about atomic swaps, aka atomic cross-chain trading. We learnt that they are based on smart contracts and enable users to trade directly from their wallets.

Now, what is Smart Contract aimed at❓
Let’s find this out. To put it simply, smart contracts are the basic constituents of blockchain, which allow users to create decentralized applications (Dapps).

Each network user can create a smart contract by implementing it according to EVM (Ethereum Virtual Machine) standards. A special programming language called Solidity is used for this purpose to create smart contracts in the BTCU network.

🔹️ To create a smart contract, users must specify the conditions for its functioning and methods of interaction with the network. To add a smart contract to the network, the user needs to complete the transaction of adding the contract to the network and pay a commission not lower than the minimum. To conduct transactions within a smart contract (transfer of tokens), the user needs to specify the recipient's public address and sign the transactions with his private key. The user pays a commission for conducting transactions within a smart contract.

One of the advantages of integrating EVM (Ethereum virtual machine) technology into the BTCU network presents an opportunity for assets tokenization or the implementation of DeFi (or Decentralized Finance).

👍 The effective development of customizable smart contract templates and the expansion of their functionality is the key to implementing blockchain technology in business processes, without which the technology itself cannot develop.

💠 You may have heard that the Ultimatum PoS does not only support standard staking capabilities but also allows delegating staking (leasing). All this was done to enable users of the network to earn profits. At the same time, it improves the decentralization of the network by determining the level of trust in masternodes and validators. This gives participants of the network opportunity to choose which masternode to transfer coins for leasing.

💰 The accruals take place on the main balance with the ability to immediately use the interest without the need to close the lease. In addition, the bonus continues to accumulate for each subsequent generated block. Rewards accrued on the main wallet means that the users can use their coins including multistaking.

😃 Each network user can lease coins an unlimited number of times, regardless of the number of previous charges. If the user already has an active lease, he can add a new lease at any time by buying coins or transferring those that were already on their balance.

👍 In the case of multileasing, the user will be charged a commission equal to the commission for the transfer between addresses on the current block. Whereas, these terms of the commission apply only to multi-leasing operations. In other cases of leasing, no commission is charged.

💠 The development of a next-gen blockchain is no easy feat, nor is it a project that can be completed in a single day or two.

👍 The BTCU team is constantly working on breaking out of the typical norms we’ve been used to. Thus far, features such as smart contracts, leasing and staking, and private transactions in a single decentralized network have been implemented.

💪 Concerning future endeavours, more details will be given as we go on. 🔵 NFT means non-fungible token. These tokens are digital assets that allow us to obtain special items that can either exist in real life or digitally. These items can be extremely different and range from collectibles, videos, music, and even works of art.

Each item will have for sole owner the person who managed to obtain them, which we can be thankful for due to the NFT build in the metadata, which officializes the ownership and registrates it on a blockchain.

💰 Now, some people might believe that NTF’s aren’t a thing and that they don’t have much of a value, but fact of the matter is they do - the NFT phenomenon is real. The most obvious examples would be people who sell their arts for millions of dollars or even tweets and videos, and you know what? 🔹️ A BTC hard fork refers by definition to a change that occurs to BTC's blockchain which ends up giving us two split branches. One that is following up on the previous protocol, and another that matches the new version we've obtained.

😎 In our last post, we talked a bit about how we were implementing the EVM (Ethereum virtual machine) technology into our system. Today, we'll be quickly going through one of the things that EVM gives us a key to - smart contracts.

➡️ Smart contracts by definition are self-executing contracts with already set predetermined conditions. Once said conditions are met, the agreement can be executed automatically without having to go through a third party.

😤 Generally, since only small percentages of coins are mined and the profit for full nodes holders in PoS is small the network becomes vulnerable. The main thing to deal with this issue is by assigning mining authority to another person, which in turn ends up just making the system centralized, instead of decentralized the way we need it.

👍 This is where new consensus algorithms come into the picture. These processes have the power to solve the issue at hand and bring it back the oh-so-needed decentralization and just make things generally quicker.

🚀 BTCU is aiming for a roof of 10000tps by its implementation of PoA- algorithm of transaction as well making its consensus.

🔹️ The Ultimatum PoS (UPoS) is a combination of Leased Proof of Stake (LPoS) and Proof of Authority (PoA). ⚡️ Bitcoin's massive energy consumption is no secret to the world. However, as time has yet proven to us again, the problem only keeps getting worse.

So far this year, Bitcoin seems to have already consumed more energy than it did in all of 2020. The numbers are roughly approximate but it has been deemed that by the end of the year Bitcoin would have overall consumed 91 terawatt-hours according to a Bloomberg post.

🔹️ Interoperability by definition is the ability of different computer systems to exchange information and value.

Unfortunately, both Bitcoin and Ethereum still have plenty of interoperability issues which is nothing short of an impediment to their development - and they're not the only ones.

💪 A lot of blockchains do not work together and are rather independent, and thus far there is no proper way to allow different networks to communicate with each other. But that's where BTCU comes in.
