Title: Grammarly for a good use.
Post by: MickLichz on October 17, 2020, 12:54:12 AM
These days I notice that some posts contain error such as wrong spelling, wrong grammar, and use of functions and I also did this thing until I used Grammarly so I just want to suggest to everyone to use this app wether on your pc or cellphone to avoid errors and make your posts neatly, also because of the correction Grammarly gives little by little my English vocabulary is improving also.

So I want to ask if you agree or disagree with using Grammarly, and why?

It seems you missed to turn on Grammrly while writing this because there is one word with spelling mistake in your post. :D

Yes, it is good and can be helpful for someone who write a lot and even it can change the spelling mistakes and wrong punctuation by itself.

It is helpful but the paid one is the most helpful.

AFAIK, the premium during their one promo was around $5/mo - $7/mo.

Wait for their promo to come if you want to buy the premium version, must avail the annual plan to get that promo.

Sorry for that, it is because I use my pc to write the topic and didn't notice that Grammarly is off.

Pretty good app. It doesn't always work correctly, but helps to filter out some of the mistakes, allowing you to be aware of them and prevent them in the future.

Guess I've once tried the site years ago. I'm not sure i was too satisfied then...i can't remember exactly why.     I wonder if there is anyone available that is almost accurate, or without too many mistakes.
In regards to the grammar, i imagined that one day people who are good in their languages will be able to find errors in people's posts, correct them and get rewarded. The post owner could then be made to merge the corrected grammer to his/her post (if it doesn't change the actual meaning of the post) in order to pass in the area of grammer, and probably get rewarded with points for correct grammar.

This is a very good idea for a good use of grammar these rules work the same way in almost all cases with few exceptions and can be used in any kind of conversation in that language. That is why it is very important to follow English grammar books in reading. Just like you used to do maths in your school life English grammar books will help you to learn different rules of English grammar and how to use them.

There are.

Those who have a major in English language, writing, and other related skills that require excellent or almost perfect grammar.

English grammar books will help you to learn different rules of English grammar and how to use them.
And with this software, it will make the job easier.

Yes we can agree that because of using grammar is better to understand properly what they mentioned in that cause and we can use grammar to read cleanly and clear to understand.....

this forum is more social based. more relaxed. its not aimed to be a legal/scholar forum.

the english language does not have a single grammar rule. apart from capital letter at the start of sentances. but thats more speling not grammar.

england has many dialects. a person from liverpool speaks different than someone from bristol. and someone from oxford speak different than someone from hackney.

so unless you are writing a formal paper that requires 'posh'turising you sound professional. dont worry about your language. especially on this forum

smart people can actually understand multiple dialects and can actually understand the context of a message. its the idiots that pretend to be scholars and grammar nazis and they just cant see their own ignorance to look passed the grammar and just take in the context.

yes i can tell a few grammar nazi's are itching to point out many grammar errors. in my post. but if your about to hit the reply button to waste your time and my time sounding like a grammar nazi, just dont bother. i wont care.

this forum is not a oxford english site. its a multinational site and not everyone is perfectly versed in english.. so just relax and remember that. you are not going to win any awards by being a grammar nazi. so find a new hobby

oh. and no grammar check will teach you the difference of if its a tom8o or a tom@o. so just relax about trying to want the world to be so defined by a certain linguistical style. its never going to happen

So I want to ask if you agree or disagree with using Grammarly, and why?

Only if you use premium/pro version, otherwise it's pointless I think

A free version is of good use and option for those non-native English speakers/writers. But there are many features that are not included, as usual for a free and basic version.

Check out the different between paid and not.

Thank you for this suggestion! Your observations are quite true and your suggestion is actually called for.

Free version is enough for the forum usage in my opinion because you are not in need of writing anything with perfect grammar, if you avoid the spelling mistakes then it will make your posts better and that is the sole reason for this suggestion
