I'm not sure if these are what you have looking for:

-Bitcointalk Forum
(Service Section)
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=52.0
(Project Development)
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=12.0
-Reddit
-Facebook (via joining local groups related to your skills or just advertise it on various groups at any subject or genre)
-Twitter
-General community forums, big or small (via looking on your favorite search engine)

Yes, way back then, posting in general forums is one of the effective ways to spread your service but with the growing social media, you can target more audiences using them. As for the results, maybe it's not that online communities are dead based on your own view but rather you now need to look for a work by yourself rather than expect clients to come for you.

I believe people are so much money-minded nowadays that the place where they can't even make a few cents, they won't even visit that place regularly or frequently. Still, if you want some general discussions, then please visit:
Politics & Society (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=34.0)
Serious Discussion (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=250.0)

And you can talk "generally" with your community in local section of the forum.

I just googled "Bitcoin forum" and that's what Bitcointalk is all about, so what other keywords do you expect to give you results of this forum?

https://i.ibb.co/qn24DZm/Screenshot-20201020-011603.jpg

And if you want to find general community forums like "Orkut" if you remember it, I believe they've gone away in the space which is the main reason you're not satisfied with the way how search engines are presenting results to their audience.

I don't think that the online communities are dead, in fact this year as the highest number of people online in the world basically brought by the pandemic.
But I think you are just lacking of something, like in-platforms searches, google just have this prime answers. I think you should dive deeper.

I think Covid is killing the internet also ... as people don't have money anymore ...
I'm thinking of the opposite, Covid wakes up the internet having more people engagements than ever. People has money, not just for your services, company cutting off their employees expect a lesser job needs these days even remote jobs.

That's what I said - general discussion forums generally don't get enough advertisements so to sponsor their domain and hosting as well as continue their services as they do not engage people in any money making activities and so, their audience don't visit them regularly, seeing which, even advertisers don't go there to advertise and that's why those forums which have anything that keeps people engaged will have more exposure for advertisers and so, advertisers will do anything to keep that service go on (for e.g.; signature campaigns and bounties on Bitcointalk, some cents per post at cryptotalk as well as mt5 forums).

You should advertise them to those communities that needs then and not just to any random community.  This part of forum is definitively not meant for such questions.

What kind of payment method will you accept, if it is BTC and cryptocurrencies, there are few places that you can start to advertise because many people still do not know about cryptos, especially through this forum. So your chances will be better by using Twitter or Reddit.

There are people who specialize in marketing, so ask them and you will find your way.

I don't think online communities are dead yet, thy just vary a lot based on the services you are offering. In terms of internet related things I find that reddit is as active as usual. A lot of people are still on that website. If you are offering other services I would recommend Ebay. There still tons of people selling things via Ebay.

On the contrary, I think the online community is thriving these days especially due to the pandemic. Small businesses have sprouted since then, you can see it everywhere especially on facebook and instagram. This is advantageous for the business owners since there's no need to pay for overhead (except for those who opt to fund for boosting). I think instagram and facebook would be great for you to advertise your services since they're pretty much inclined to showcasing these kind of ads but it really depends on your market/target audience. This forum is also a good place for you to advertise those kinds of services as well. Keep in mind though that the competition might be tough.

The answer to your question is certainly no, especially at a time when people are increasingly forced to be online, either for work or for fun. But you need to know that people's habits are changing and that things are not the same as they were 10 years ago - today people spend more time on FB, Twitter, Telegram, Viber and similar social networks.

You actually want free advertising which used to be really effective through various forums (I remember someone offering such a service on dozens of forums), but if you want to advertise successfully then you will have to pay for it. Honestly, this is the only way you can reach new customers, and if you have a good product you will make a profit.

I think its not dead, the problem is that there are so many competitions since everyone is working from home, so it's tough, unless you offer something unique then people won't find your services that attractive.

Covid-19 didn't kill the internet, on the contrary it makes it an avenue, although it's double edge sword, criminals  are taking advantage, since everyone is at home working, they started campaigns to target potential victims with Covid-19 themes. on the flipside, people staying home and doing online, entrepreneur find ways to make money, specially food delivery services.

Interested to know why you think so.

Have you tried advertising on Facebook groups? There should be lots free Marketplaces in form of Groups to sell things on the social media. There could be groups specifically for the type of products/services you want to sell. I don't know how the groups work these days though. Been long I advertised things for sale on a Facebook group.

But I think, more people are now spending their time online because most of us are staying at our homes so it becomes one of the major ways to communicate with others. Sellers are shifting online because of the pandemic so the online communities are not dead in fact, I find them more active nowadays.

And you can find platforms to advertise your service depending on your target customers or clients. If you are looking for crypto-related, then this forum is already a good place to offer your service. You can also use popular social media if you want more general clients because a lot of people are now on their social media.

A friend of mine is a designer, and he finds that the best conversion rate is from IG.

Here is what he's doing:

1. He has an IG with posts about different design stuff + portfolio.
2. DM different business through IG about design services
3. DM different business through FB about design services

IG responses and conversions are nearly 200% higher than FBs.

Have you considered hiring the services of an SEO marketer? Marketing on the internet is a broad approach, and if not done right it could bring very little results. What websites to advertise on depends on what you're advertising and also your target audience.

A friend of mine is a designer, and he finds that the best conversion rate is from IG.
This individual is a designer and deals with images, so they would almost certainly get more engagements on Instagram than on so many other websites, this approach may not work for some other service.

Any online communities you recommend where i can advertise web dev,web design and graphic design services ...?
For web development and design you can try upwork, Fiverr or some other platform that connects service providers to those that need their services, graphic design can work on Instagram; These are the ones I can remember of the top of my head, there would be more niche platforms for such services, you just need to know where to look.

Try Reddit, there must be a subreddit that will match what you need. There is a service discussion here in the forum and you can advertise your services their, you might also want to add your portfolio so possible clients are more likely to deal with you because you have works to showcase.

I think you can search on google by using the right keyword.

Just because it isn't visible on Google or any other search engine it doesn't mean Bitcointalk is not good for promotion. If your services has got bitcoin acceptance and you prefer promoting your services, then for sure Bitcointalk is the right place and it brings more traffic to your services.

The reason why it isn't visible on Google and on other search engines, no specific team is allocated to do SEO operation for Bitcointalk.

Actually, more people engaged in online activities due to this pandemic because outdoor activities are prohibited so I doubt this pandemic" killed" the 'internet'. Forums and other social media platforms became more active during the pandemic since many people are just in their homes. Online advertisements, is another case.

If you are looking for platforms to advertise, I would suggest social media more than forums because forums are somewhat the "old way" of socializing. In such way, it will give you wider scope of advertisement given how many people will see the services you will offer. But it depends on other criterias you are looking to. For example, you want to advertise your services in designs but you do prefer crypto as payment, then this forum would suit you well because there are threads which would allow you to do so.

Bitcointalk is a very active online community and has the potential to serve your advertising services. You don't need to be confused to promote it. The bitcointalk forum is a forum that provides information on bitcoin and crypto and other technology issues, you only have to make posts about the services you have. several other online communities also remain, there is only need to search for it.

Yeah, reddit is definitely one of the best when it comes to promoting something. I have done a lot of marketing there for games and I know its unrelated to crypto but it really worked out very well for the games I was promoting.

It was not crypto at all however isn’t it the same logic? You promote something you made to tell people spend money on it? That is why I highly suspect that it would work the same way. You just have to find a ton of subreddits and share your product there and if you could have a subreddit of your own that would be awesome for you as well to gather some community.

When it comes to the Internet things are always changing, there are many communities online where you can promote your services the problem is that as you are very well aware people instead of hiring directly prefer to do it through an intermediary, and this has given to certain platforms great control over the market and now it is quite difficult to make a name for yourself even if you are good at what you do, as such your only option is to look for those communities in which your message will be well received and do so with all what you can otherwise it will be a challenge to find any job online.

The thing is that while the forum is great but really the services section does not grab enough attention to get clients. I have seen so many designers and other services thread but there is not much interest but that might be because people contact them directly on their PM or mentioned telegram id. I think one needs to build the trust from community first and then they get so much work that they can't even handle.

I mean anyone who wants to purchase some services like they need a campaign manager then they will seek out for someone trusted like yahoo62278 or hampuz or some other trusted manager and that is because they have established himself for that position.

This community is generally pretty good. Reddit's bitcoin subreddit is also good. Both of these forums seem like they are tempered with a healthy dose of skeptics to keep it from being a giant fanboy circlejerk.  The more general cryptocurrency sub on reddit seems to have gone downhill a bit since Moons were introduced and now that they're able to be converted to other cryptos.  It's created an atmosphere of Moon farming, which deteriorates the quality of the sub.  You see the same thing here with the signature campaigns.  Honestly, this forum would probably be better without them.

Better advertise them on social media. Most of the people right now are glued to their PC, laptop, or their mobile phones and most of their run-to applications are social media like Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter. There are also games that are getting popular so maybe you could talk to them about advertising your services.

Indeed reddit actually works equally well for crypto related services too given you have a portfolio to show and some credibility to offer. I often use reddit to find such service providers so I know that it works.

I believe one can post here in this forum in the marketplace-> services section because there are not many people who offer their services there and one might easily get some members to buy their services once you post a good portfolio and some your prices are reasonable. Also you can contact so many ICOs out there and seek for work from them.

Nope, it's almost everywhere. you can create an Fb page for your services or join upwork, and other online jobs. You can try IG and twitter too. In twitter, digital art community is alive. If there's a best time to market your service online, this will be it. I know cause I'm in advertising and multimedia industry. The only problem is how can you be the best marketer of your service among the millions of freelancer in the web. Maybe you are struggling in marketing that is why you thought online communities is dead. Join online groups cause they are literally everywhere. Wishing you luck. Your success will come with marketing and how good your services is.

Nobody has mentioned LinkedIn so I'll add it to your bucket list. It may not be the style of other online communities but it's also an ideal place for what you're asking. You can see other professionals posting there and it's becoming a social media. Connecting with other people is easy and many potential clients or employers can be found there. Explore them and maybe your designated company or client is there.

The online community is not dead, it's just that they become active on social media. Like Facebook, Instagram and YouTube.
Now, online communities are rarely active in public forums. So try to spread your portfolio about web dev, web design and
graphic design services on social media. I am sure there are still many people who need the services you offer, you only need
to maximize social media for promotion. Especially now that more and more people are active on the internet, because the
pandemic situation has made many people do their activities online. So it should be the opportunity to promote web dev,
web design and graphic design services that you really know.

It is precise during a pandemic like this that the online community in my place is growing more rapidly.
Or what you mean is that when you type "online communities" into the Google search engine, you can't find any information related to "online communities" in detail and directly?
If so, then you should try to use more specific keywords.
It's not that the internet killing online communities. However, more to the unavailability of search results according to the keywords you are looking for as possible.

IG and there is a new app that is popping in my country named Lyka some use it to promote their brand like in Instagram. Also better use now Facebook to promote your service, Facebook or Instagram and YouTube. Better go in a busier online sites as the people were there and there still chances that you will meet some prospect that will get your service, find group or use hash tags and just use some words and pictures that will attract audience that can make it viral.

You can find places here but the main places you should be looking for are places like upwork, fiverr and similar places, those are not "advertisement" websites those are literally hire me! websites and you would be able to put your portfolio there and allow people to see you and your prices and your work.

If people saw your work and your prices and think you are worthy they will come to you, if they do not hire you that means your work is not as good as your price says, so drop your price, keep doing this until you find a price where people do hire you enough to actually make a living for you. A newbie can't ask for 1000 dollars, a veteran good one won't ask for 10 dollars, everyone has their own price and the market decides how much you worth as well.

And the thing is you are never going to know which is the right place, after all you need to find people needing your service at that precise moment because even if they have the need for your services just a few weeks later they are not going to remember you, as such as a freelancer you have no option but to self-promote very aggressively in any way you can find and for some people this can be difficult as you are going to face a lot of rejections in the process, but taking into account that you can gain financial freedom by becoming a freelancer then I think all of those rejections are worth it in the end.
