Title: How can we stop bitcoin scammers?
Post by: Wesleyeric on November 01, 2020, 11:01:27 PM
I have noticed and we are all aware that so many people do complain that they were scammed through bitcoin. In every problem there is always a solution. How can we identify when a scammer is trying to scam.Let their be a strong system In such a way that scammers won’t be able to penetrate in. And can we pay more attention when someone complain about scammers.

You can never have a system 100% free of scammers, because scamming is made possible by gaining someone's confidence, and you can't do anything about someone's decisions. Bitcoin draws scammers because it can't be frozen, seized, intercepted, charged back, and it even offers some privacy, but even without those things scammers would still operate, just like they scam people through PayPal or banks or cash. There's no point in trading off Bitcoin's decentralization and freedom just to have less scams, because we already have non-free centralized systems, and Bitcoin is only valuable because it's not like them.

Deal with it because they would exist no matter how hard to create a system about preventing and revealing up their modus because there would always be something new that hasn't been known by the masses.

People have different minds which ends on different motives in life. Some do prefer on working hard to earn and some would like the easiest way as possible and this is where a scammer do think.

Stopping them? We cant, that's why its important on ones end to know the basics of scam or even telling yourself and make use of your common sense. If everything looks too good to be true then
its probably a scam.

We can't.

Scams will always be part of our daily life. Rather than hope for something "not possible", we have to make the adjustment instead. Spread awareness about scams, educate people especially newbies and always give help to someone that finding answers to their basic questions.

I know that's not enough but at least we aren't giving scammers an easy way to bait a newbie on their trap.

I think the simple answer here is we can't really stop them. Just look around you hundreds of HYIP sites are being created, a lot of Youtube accounts are being hacked and then converted into a fake giveaway site, Fake social media accounts are being created to fool people, and also social media accounts being hacked in order to fool people these things cannot be stopped by a community even if you educated them with all things like phishing emails or sites and what to avoid things like this may just reduce the number of victims but with the crypto industry still growing I don't think it will stop all the scams from luring some victims.

The best thing to aid this problem is to not allow yourself to be a victim. Ofcourse this won't be possible because scams will be moving forward to us, the things is prevention. If something is new and suspiscious, make a research or make it a habit to ask other people who you think are more knowledgeable of something. Bitcoin is gaining popularity and it is not quite surprising to know that it will be used in such because there are people who will take advantage of its popularity and use it to things which are not legal. Scammers will continue as long as there are people being scammed.

Who will create the system? There are so many ways to scam. Many of them are not penetrating anything but only the minds of individual persons. Somebody is offered a double-your-money opportunity and swallowed hook, line, and sinker. Somebody is needing assistance in setting up his/her wallet and went to social media for it.

Most scammers are exploiting the gullibility, greed, and laziness of people. I don't know how these will be addressed. But, for sure, education and information could significantly reduce scam victims.

Nowhere it is possible to develop a cent percent efficient systematic process where it is repellent to scammers. The first think that can restrict scammers is through education and particularly about the technical parameters associated with bitcoin.

Most commonly we used to mention bitcoin is risky, here we need to brief why it is risky. Further we need to give the explanation, how this risk factors can be overcome. Next we need to elaborate about the way bitcoin can be kept secure. Make people understand the private key and the way a transaction can be handled. It isn't an overnight process. People have a thinking of making money overnight which is the major cause for getting into the hands of scammers. Step by step we need to make people know the truth about bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies which is how getting scammed can be avoided to certain point.

Blockhain gives a better platform for a scammer to make a schemes. It allows them to freely take advantage of others without revealing their identity. Its very hard to regulate and make a system to stop them, the best way to do is to make a platform to educate people about all this activity. Information is important in this space where we have no control on what People want to do. I've been reading here in bitcointalk and become more aware of this scammers, if only more people will be engage in this forum, we could lessen the people who fall into scam.

It's not how we can stop bitcoin scammers, it's how we can stop BEING scammed. Knowledge is power here, knowing where to look, how to look are the keys to actually avoiding scams. We may talk about how obvious some scams are, but it's obvious at that point because we already know that it is a scam, but what if we didn't? Then surely, one or two people would get hooked and scammed. It's why scammers are successful at times, because people don't think of it as a scam, AND they don't do enough proper research.

Scammers are always a part of every type of system out there, no matter what. Even our own Government has scammers passing by as them to obtain money/information illegally. Nothing we can do about that tbh. Well, actually we could, just kill off the rest of humanity and scammers would be gone.

The best thing that we can do is educate ourselves, if we do not know something and someone offers it, be skeptic and try to do some research. The best way to stop scammers is to be informed, when everyone knows it is a scam then there will be no victims and they will slowly dwindle because it will not be profitable.

Bitcoin being a decentralized currency is one of the biggest inventions of the century.
It is true freedom, we already got our bank in our pocket by just owning Bitcoin in our personal wallet.

But one of the most problems of Bitcoin is this, the scammers that using Bitcoin, which some people may misunderstand the real use of Bitcoin because of these scammers. For me, no one can stop these scammers, the best thing to do is education, everybody should learn first, but this is very difficult for newbies.

There's no way for us to stop people to become scammer because it is their own decision and we cannot do something to make it change for them and besides we don't know them as well. In every system or platform, you may join, scammers are always there, if they will see an opportunity to fool people then they will do, the best thing for us to do with this is to avoid being scammed; know which one is true and not. Identify whether the website is fake or not, you may use this one https://www.aetrustscore.com/

Do not fall for good words came from a stranger, when someone offers you to a website and give you a link then better to ignore them if you can and never give your personal information to anyone or even write it in a system.

You cannot stop scammers to deceive other people but you can stop scammers to deceive you by becoming aware on what it is. Having a financial intelligence is really important, you should not be deceive by just believing that you can earn profit in just small period of time.

The reason why a lot of newbies are being scammed is because of their mindset which is quick rich scheme where in they want their investment to double in just days or even weeks. It is funny to hear that but there are also side that it is sad because they keep losing money. Scammers are the one who are wrong there but as an investor you are also liable to yourself. You will not get scammed if you focus on improving your education.

But, we can anticipate them by always being vigilant and thinking using logic.
I have a lot of e-mail about token / coin promotion. But I always analyze the e-mail before determining the next step.

Ok, let's built now a system that nobody managed to build in the entire history of mankind!!!
And it will be impossible with this system to let scammers penetrate the environment, it will be like the Great Wall of China, ups wrong example....Maginot line...shit, Berlin's wall oh my god  ;D.... Trump's wall... :P

Scams will always happen, there will always be scammers and there will always be people greedy enough or desperate enough to fall for a scam.
And to all saying that education will prevent scams, are you sure that everyone who got scammed by things like Bitcoinnect or Butterlylabs by Pirate040 or any other type of scam from Icos to Ponzi to mining gear were all illiterate imbeciles?

Scammers are changing their way every day to make money from others. The best way to combat scammers is to keep yourself updated with new knowledge about computer security, cryptocurrency security, and limit communication about trust investment opportunities in the crypto space.

Do you know why it’s would be almost impossible to eradicate scammers from bitcoin? Because bitcoins is rich and beneficial. Every scammer out there wants to be rich and benefits from where he/she did not sow. Devising a way to put a stop to bitcoin scam is very good but there can’t be a system that would be scam free because bitcoin remains anonymous and decentralized as well. Scammers will always find their way in, all we need to do is to keep our fund secure in the wallet is to keep our login details secret in a secure location. You are the system so it’s in your power to determine the security strength of your wallet.

We can't stop the scammers from scamming.

As time goes by, scammers become more intelligent. They know how to make a person believe that it is not a scam. Isn't it ironic? They are intelligent but they use it in their wrongdoings when they can make use of their brain to look for good high-paying jobs. Though, life will be easy in an instant if it's an easy money :)  I think the best way to avoid being scammed by these people is to be aware that they are capable of everything. As much as possible, do not entertain individuals who you do not know personally unless badly needed. Double up your security and if your instinct feels bad about a certain scenario... think of it and decide if you need to back out.

The only way that we can identify the scammer is by searching for the other news about what they offer. If they give something that makes us suspicious, we don't have to follow what they offer. That can help us to avoid losing our money in their hand. We can not stop the scammers from tricking and stealing people's money, but we can prevent them from trying that way. I am sure that if we can be careful and always analyze and get more information about the news, we can avoid them.

People get into the scammer's trap because they think they can profit in the short term without thinking about the process. People also become greed when they look at a big profit that they can get from joining in one program.

And when it's case of dealing with someone through Bitcoin, we need to be extra cautious.
Moreover always try to deal through a middleman/escrow , it will help to save you from scams.
You can track a user through it's Bitcoin address, but if he's smart enough he will use mixer to mix his coins and become anonymous.
Nevertheless the only thing we can do is to remain attentive.

It is a decentralized system, everyone is can use it for anything good or bad, become an educated person then we can educating community continously. Unfortunately most people when telling or acquaint about Bitcoin is only about profit profit and profit, forgets to educate about security basics and various forms of fraud which is always happening.

Well, first of all, there's is no such system that couldn't be penetrated because no system is 100% safe, scammers would find a way to break it and harm people.
Scammers are nowadays are so smart that they can now even pull off something that we can never imagine, sometimes we cannot even tell if it is a scam or not am I right?
So basically, scammers are most likely inevitable especially if there's money involved that is why all we need to do or to have is KNOWLEDGE but this still will not 100% guarantee avoid these circumstances.
Before engaging in any events or activities make sure that you always make research about them so that we might not fully avoid them but we can reduce the chances of being scammed.

We have every reason to believe that scammers will continue their shady activities as long as bitcoin continues to be a decentralized monetary system with a robust approach to transferring value. In other words, as long as bitcoin be considered money.

Most of the schemes scammers use have already been tested many times on other money such as fiat, gold, silver, etc. Bitcoin is no different: it just has gotten some more useful characteristics that make it superior to other monetary assets. But the idea is the same they can scam you using old ways of scamming including social engineering, which works perfectly fine all the time.

So, to stop any illicit activity in bitcoin, the only thing we can do is stop bitcoin altogether or make it worthless, which is also going to stop it. We can try to implement KYC approved transactions, for instance. But, as we have learned from the history of banks, it won't work either, because KYC is mainly used not for prevention an illicit activity, but for controlling innocent people.

To make a long story short, if you don't want bitcoin used by criminals, just destroy it completely. If you want bitcoin to exist, just accept the fact it will be used by everyone including criminals. Freedom of transactions cannot be selective: bitcoin is for all.

Whatever system we may create, a bunch of scammers will always finds their way to rescam people. The fact that they are using decentralized system to scam is one of the main problem. The solution? Stop allowing ourselves to become a victim.

If they are wise enough to make some moves, we should be wiser than those of scammers. Let's say we make them fill out informations before the transactions, but  the reality is that scammers will not give their "real" identity or informations.

The bottom line here is, We can't really stop btc scammers but, we can RESIST them.

Scammers are always there so it's almost inevitable to stop them from scamming people because they will always find various ways to scam others. No matter how much we try improving the system, scammers will still be there, so instead of looking for a free-from-scammer system, why not educate people to avoid getting scammed, I think this is the best way to do. We know that there's a lot of scammers here, and it's already on those greedy people that's why we need to be cautious and knowledgeable to protect ourselves from them.

If you look closely and you inspect most of these scams.. you will find that Crypto currencies are not the scam, but merely the payment method. So, if this is the case... should Crypto currencies be blamed for these scams or the scam that are using Crypto currencies as the payment option?

The Crypto community has already gone a long way to educate people about scams with sites like https://badbitcoin.org/ and also the scam accusation section on this forum.  ;)

If you are going to look at the big exchanges even if their security is tight there are still some times that they were scammed by scammers.
The only thing we could do to this matter in order not to be scammed is to educate yourself and learn to be a critic so you would be able to avoid the scammers.

One way to identify if the project is a scam, it's good to be true. These investments promise a large amount of profit in a short period of time, like double your money in just 1 month. Even the bank didn't offer that kind of profit annually. It would be best if you were wise, or else you will be a victim of this scam investment.
The only solution I know to solve this problem is by educating people to know more about bitcoin. By the time they know how to earn from bitcoin trading, they will not invest easily in the projects that good to be true.

How can we identify when a scammer is trying to scam.Let their be a strong system In such a way that scammers won’t be able to penetrate in. First and foremost, any market that hasn't been regulated is likely to be a target for scammers since they're sure they'll make way with what ever stunt they're able to pull off. Bitcoin isn't centralized so irrespective of what the scammer make way with there're zero chances of the victim getting back their funds. Any system that'll be set up would be going against the concept of the technology which is focused on decentralization.

We're on our own basically as our finances are in our hands therefore we're entitled to what ever decision we take in safeguarding our investment. The only solution we can give to this ongoing issue is to stay vigilant and avoid chasing after the hype of new trends as the chances of scammers taking advantage of them are high.

Stick to investing in bitcoin, learn and understand the importance of securing your wallet and using service that let you be in control of your funds.

There is no specific way to stop bitcoin scammers. Even the government can only reduce the number of scammers with regulations. There is no absolute method for this issue. As you can see, the world we live in are full of thieves despite rules and laws organized by the government.

Use bitcoin and other crytpocurrencies at your own risks. Although scammers are around, bitcoin provides the opportunity to be free from the centralization and become anonymous. And as you know: With great power comes great responsibility. Be responsible for your own money and your own portfolio. There will be no third party which try to control everything for you  ;D

Scammers are just scattered anywhere and they seem to have a stronger technique nowadays. On the other hand, we can avoid this scammers by trying to be very keen in trusting somebody else. We should always be very careful and smart. Scammers are too wise and persistent, but we can beat them somehow if we don't easily believe their offers. Ive been fooled so many times by different people before, and maybe this is the reason why I change a lot. I don't give trust and believe easily now, and another thing that I learned, is reading someone's speaking gestures and facial expressions especially the eyes. I become so hard to deal now because of my experiences. But, I guess its not that bad. It is better to be more cautious rather than feel sorry if you get scammed.

There are no other solutions to this thing but to make ourselves aware of it. If we are a greedy person, I doubt that it will be working. A reason why many scammers still exist and they are not stopping anymore is because there are still a lot of people being blinded by these fake giveaways, attractive offerings that most scammers had used to trick them.

When I saw this thread, one thing comes to my mind is to be an educated person. How would you stay longer in cryptocurrency if you lack knowledge about it? If you have information, knowledge and wisdom and using cryptocurrency then it's impossible for you to be scammed by scammers.

Those common victims of scamming are prolly beginners in this community and don't have any idea how they will get profit in here. They're getting baited through free bitcoins and giveaways or maybe scam investments that have high ROI.

Sorry to say but the reality is that you can't stop them. Scammers are everywhere no matter what industry you are in. The world is not 100% scam-free. They keep coming and coming, improving their scamming skills, etc. I know that they are learning some techniques coming from so-called "Scam Academy Paid Course" or something from the dark web.

It is we that should adjust when seeing scammers around the corner. We must improve and learn how to avoid getting scammed. And if they improve their scamming skills, we also level up avoiding them in order for our hard-earned funds to be completely safe from them.

These scammers are targeting mostly newbies and beginners who aren't experienced in dealing with scams, and it's so hard to stop them. What we can do right now is just keep educating and spreading awareness to the newbies and beginners in making them avoid getting scammed for good.

With the advantages of bitcoin that apply and have value all over the world, it makes it easier for scammers to get random victims. Most of the scammer victims are beginners in the crypto space where it is still scattered and often starting from the wrong place to study.
Any effort will not stop the scammers who keep arriving in new and new ways. We can only block them and narrow their space by reporting the site, spreading identities, introducing indications and telling people how they cheat to people and wherever you surf so there are no further victims.

Scammers will usually tempt people and get them in trap by giving shiny promises, Regarding to the hype investments and fake ICO website you can easily report them to the registrar and hope they close the website soon. We can't. As long as people are getting scammed and people kept on taking advantage of exploiting the weakness of users and programs we are using, scammers will always be there. It won't disappear, but we can educate ourselves and other people so that they can avoid being scammed. If that continues, it can stop scamming slowly.

Nowadays you can find many scammers on online and they use a lot of ways to scam. First, they try to blackmail people to weakness or create malware and send user. They also create phishing link and send users stolen user information. Most of the people got scam for prize giveaway because they have no idea about scam or interest in prize giveaway.
So if we stop scam need to awareness about scam and phishing link and don't download any file without recommendation.

It's pretty easy to recognize online scams:
1.When someone wants you to "invest in his project" and he is promising insane profits, then this is a scam.
2.If someone is offering a deal that seems too good to be true, then this is a scam.
3.Be cautious every time, when someone is trying to develop a relationship with you online.Scammers are usually very friendly and manipulative.

We don't have to rely on a "strong system, because hackers/scammers can penetrate any system.
We just have to rely on logic and reason.

Bitcoin scams are now less but the famous scams are now from altcoins or to those projects that have offerings ex. Ieo , ico, defi , LPO and many more but you are talking to Bitcoin scams only so let's go talk about btc only .

You can identify a btc scam but the difficulty can varry if how good the scammer was .

If you figure out too early that it was a scam don't continue anymore because there are people that already know that it was a scam but they still continue and ended up to a point of no return . Figuring out who is the scammer is almost impossible and there are no systems because btc is not centralized but paying attention to scam reports can be the best way to avoid them .

We can't stop them since we cannot control the minds of those scammers. And if they live by this schemes then for sure they will continuously do this since they are lazy to find decent job since for them scamming is easy yet they are earning big amount of money for this.

The only one we can do is to discuss more about how scammer works and how to indicate if the platform is scam since for this provably we can help those resourceful newbies about how things work on scam platforms.

Just like the scamers in real world, we also can't stop scamers in virtual world, including Bitcoin scamers.
What we can do is educate people and raise awareness so they can protect themselves from scam and thus decrease the number of potential victims. Self protection and caution are the only measures against scamers.

Evolution never stops. There is no system that is impenetrable. It's just like the cops catching the criminals and then the criminals find a better way to do that crime again.
In the internet world it's the hackers and scammers who do the crime. If a technique is found to stop that scam the scammers will then find a better way to do another scam.
So eventually there won't be a system which is 100% scam proof. But yeah we can educate ourselves enough so that we understand that it's a scam/fraudulent activity.
We should keep reading about scams and crime related news to know how the scammers and criminals are doing their illegal activities to know how the process works.
The next time if a similar thing happens with you then you will atleast have the basic idea to identify what it might be.

It depends on  the area you’re referring to, if you are talking about stopping scammers completely everywhere, that’s not going to be possible because in or the other there will be people who will fall for the scammers' tricks. It can be airdrops or any other, but will always fall for it.

The thing is that people have to learn to be doing good research so that they won’t be falling for the traps that scammers are laying everywhere. And then it’s left for us to also do our best in pointing ways that newbies can avoid scam projects and all that. It’s just like the Twitter scam, despite that it’s an old type of scam, but some people still fell for it.

People are getting scammed by the same banner that they are seeing which is "FREE BITCOIN". Its true that having or getting free Bitcoin is fun but if people are giving it away, there is always a catch since gaining Bitcoin is easy but there are requirements before earning it. We should not easily trust some of these Bitcoin giveaways UNLESS its from someone credible. Complains are good too since people are learning on new ways on how people got scammed and they are good enough to tell their experience even though its hard for them.

How can we identify when a scammer is trying to scam.

I believe it is simple, their offer is too good to be true.  If we keep our greed at bay, we can easily see their scammy plot because almost all their offer are those that will trigger our greed and make our brain think irrational.  Aside from that, we also need to educate ourselves and do research in every offer of investment we meet.  Patience and thorough research will always save us from the claws of these scam people.

If something is far from the reality or if the project is too good to be true, then there should be curiousity. Curiousity must be followed by action of checking if it is true or not. There are many ways to do so; asking other people inside and outside the project or checking for its background. Think of it as "there's no way a project will be this much". And if you won't lose that much from engaging if there's no other way, go for it. Sometimes risking is worthy of one's time.

Bitcoin's value in recent years has made the cryptocurrency one of its most promising assets.  Not only for users, traders, and investors, the growing price of Bitcoin has also attracted the attention of scammers.  There are several ways to avoid scammers:
1.  learn all about Bitcoin.
2. find out the types of Bitcoin scams today.
This understanding can increase your awareness if one day you encounter a scam model.  One of the scam models is if you come across advertising sentences like “Buy Bitcoin 5% lower than the market price.  Reach Big Profits ”, then don't hesitate to avoid it.  It is one of the marketing strategies of scammers who want to deceive potential clients with the lure of unrealistically large profits.

People should really have that kind of mindset but some are just too lazy to make up some research and making up some reads about on whats the current happening into the market.

There are various methods or schemes that hadn't been known by everybody which means there still chance for a scam-experienced person to fall into the trap.

Its not that we are just dumb but there still some possibility for it to happen even if we do stick with that too good to be true offers should be avoided or neglected but there were instances
where you do end up on second thoughts and consider on making out some investments instead.

scam would always been part of this market as long money do circulate then expect for these people to show up and make ways to steal others money.

This is indeed difficult, even the tricks of the scammers are getting tidier.
If it's like this, we need advice from others who are more experienced and understand the ins and outs of crypto. Make the consideration of experienced people as a brake so that we don't get provoked. Lots of websites and telegram channels that share analysis related to new projects, choose one with a really good assessment and is proven to be correct, such as https://t.me/ico_analytic. But remember, we also have to have our own judgment, don't make it the main reference.

We won't be able to stop a scam like this. It will always appear at every opportunity. what we need to do is educate ourselves and others to be more careful and thorough before joining. Immediately report any suspicious projects, or visit the Scam Accusations board on bitcointalk for more information regarding dubious projects.

We cannot rely on the system and expect that such system will be 100% scam free as well as hack free because in any system, hackers and scammers are always finding ways how they can intrude and execute their plans to be able to make themselves to always gain the favor upon the situation. What I think is that we must equip ourselves to be knowledgeable enough to counter such scam schemes and hacks. If those hackers and scammers are getting wiser, so we must also be with. Dealing with such wise people must be countered by being knowledgeable and wise as well. If we can be wise like them, it will be a hard time for them to gain victim. Commonly they are targeting newbies in the industry because they were not knowledgeable and easy to be fooled. But if we will be equipped with knowledge about common scams and hacks and have avoidance on that and raise awareness, then the probability of being scammed or hacked will be lessen.

scammers wont scam with one to two people only but they want to scam many people at once to make the scam worth it because its hard to start again because people are gonna be looking for them and they need to construct another plan that are new to the eyes of the people .

the only way to gather more people to join is to start as paying , this way people will think its profitable and trusted then they will recomend it to thier friends , nieghbors and people they know .

You can't stop scammers for scamming people but you can stop yourself from getting scammed to these newbie scammers.
In reality, scammers are just doing the same tricks to scam people. In crypto world, some of the ways they do to scam is doing a live on Youtube or attracting newbie investors thru their sweet words etc. Being knowledgeable and not ignorant will help you not to get scammed.

I also agree that experiencing getting scammed would help you not to get scammed on the next one. Overall, there is no way for you to stop Bitcoin scammers but you can stop yourself from getting scammed.

To stop scammers can't be really granted 100 percentage sure, because no one knows they operational strategies to penetrate or deceived people, only thing I found out through scammers that can eradicate the rate of scamming, is through a protest via a noted people who is involve with evidence and also some platforms, so protest will take place via telegram, Facebook and other social media platform in order to subsides the higher rate of scamming.

We cannot do anything to stop them at 100% because every time they end a scam for sure they will start another scam. All we can do is just to spread awareness and report this to the platform that is promoting these scams to make a quick termination of the post or account. There are a lot of people who always give this statement " if the scammers always got a victim, they will continue their scamming activity " - this is just the meaning of what they are saying.

what we can avoid is not to make the wrong move so that people like them can enter the network we have, the clear way is to avoid mistakes in the actions we take.

This is the reason to keep knowledgeable and conscious of those things always and also it's better to share awareness to help them too and stop these scammers.

If you will ask me, we can't stop it but we can find a solution to keep ourselves from getting scammed and lessen the number of people being scammed because if we can do that, the number of scams will also reduce. One of the best ways to actually identify a scam is if it is too good to be true. You should also look at these projects and know more about them.

You can not put an end to scam or scammers but you can try to develop yourself to be able to recognize a scam and stay away from it, and possibly warn others about it, but thinking you can entirely put an end to scam is fallacy, the only thing you can do is think of how to protect yourself from a known and the unknown scam, where there is good there will always be bad, whatever have advantage will also have a disadvantage,

scam does not only exit in btc or in crypto, in other aspect of life there are different form of scam and people have been able to survive one way or another, it is a question of being careful not to fall a victim, even the government will find it difficult to put an end to any form of scam, if that where the case, by now there will be no insecurities and all other social unrest, but that is not the case,  this is a way of life.

That is so true. Very hard to stop them as they grow like mushrooms. If you stop one today, there will be more tomorrow. So one simple thing that I do when I encounter obvious phishing site or ponzi scheme, I report it to google and state the reason why I am reporting it. Because if they will receive reports or complaints for that particular site, I hope they are making action like shutting down the site to stop further screwing naive users.

I have seen people who know that a scheme is a scam, but they still try those schemes out to see if they get lucky. That is the most stupidest thing to do to be honest. They are the one indirectly promoting scams and encouraging scammers to scam more!

I have also pick some important things from the comments, Let there be a Rigidity in some systems that use bitcoin for there exchange or transactions, You can be ignorant of scams but you won’t get scammed because of the system rigidity.Sometimes scammers find it easy to scam and sometimes is difficult, because the securities will be so strong and tight even when you are fully convinced by scammers it will be difficult for them to penetrate, It will be difficult to generate a means of scamming because the system is very rigid.

Pretty much this. The only thing you can do to stop scammers is put them in prison, and even that is not a guarantee of success (since plenty in the US have smart phones on the inside and conduct their "business" from their jail cell.

People need to do a little bit of due diligence. Having the information organized and easily presented would be helpful, but we have so many users that speak multiple languages in the local boards that honestly if people were no so damn impatient many scams would not take place.

And greed over common sense. The number of people who lose everything because they wouldn't pay 1% fee for an escrow is saddening.

Many are victims of investment cases on behalf of bitcoin, they are wanted with large profits every day from 5% to 10%. Even though bitcoin is actually a transaction tool and is not promising with a profit of 5% to 10% every day. Many people when hearing with promotion get earning profit more than 5% every day will interested for investing their money but actually scammer try to get his project only put bitcoin as named, the scammer try to get fresh money from member as deposit and give commission for referral to keep promoting. The answer is "IF THE TIME THAT ALL OF US  DON'T BELIEVE LIES" behind attractive propaganda and tempting offerings. Mostly this is the reason why people got into the trap of scammers because of money, greediness, wanting instant rich which is truly impossible to happen. That sad thing is that most of us never think about it first but they just realized it after being scammed.

If we don't let these people make us fool or have to help the community aware of it. Nothing could help but just ourselves and we don't live that ignorance even though it is very clear to see that this is a scam trick.

How are you doing friend, if it is difficult to tell a hacker not to steal or anything like that, there are measures to further increase the security of our assets such as 2fa and use cold wallets, now believe me that a hacker will not go for a wallet that it doesn't even make it to 1 btc, regards

We cannot stop scammers, everyday I can see 1 or more people in social media groups they have been scammed by someone this is so unfortunate in this time where crisis is happening the only thing we can do to people who are new to crypto is to teach and educate them security features and possible scenarios on how scammers are using bitcoin to scam new users of bitcoin.

Scammers are everywhere. If you stop one of their "scams", they will come back with another.

I agree there is no going to be a stop to scams. People are gullible and sometimes the scam scheme is so well orchestrated that you have no idea or suspicions that it will lead to you losing your money.

The best way to reduce scamming level is to increase awareness and always be cautious. Even with these there will still be people who fall victims to scams because these people adapt to the different strategies.

Here (https://commodity.com/cryptocurrency/avoid-scams/) is a blog which discusses how to avoid some of the common scams. Happy reading!

There are many scammers each day the only thing that we can do is never invest without knowing the project. We must know the team behind the project it must not be anonymous. I agree with others when they scam and found out their project is fraud they will just create a new one. It happen in this industry so people should be careful before investing.

Honestly we can't stop bitcoin scammers but we can avoid them. All we need to do is to be careful enough in joining and investing a project and do not trust for every offers of different people that we really don't know. Just be skeptical and always do some research for any project or offer of someone.

Listening and learning about complains can be effective since most of the stories being told there are detailed and we can make sure that we wont fall victim if we see the signs that will pertain to scams. People should also stop believing everything that is posted on the internet pertaining on how to gain free Cryptocurrencies since its already easy to gain Cryptocurrency so some websites might lead into phishing websites.

No system needed. If you rely on the system, then you rely on third parties who, in your opinion, should protect you from scam.
No one can protect you by cutting yourself.
The system must be in you - in your head. The only way to stop the scam is to stop sending them money.

Scammers is always present not only in crypto space but also in real world. We can't stop them because that is their strategy to make more money comes from what other people have labored for. No one can protect us, only ourselves. we need to become aware for everything like investing in some projects or for trusting someone. We need to verify first if the project or someones offer is legit or not. I think we can manage it by ourselves just become careful enough and do some studies and research about bitcoin scammers so that we can identify them if we encounter such circumstances.

The scam will continue to exist forever as long as we give them the space to do so. Scammer will never stop trying to do their job until they get what they want. Realizing what could potentially happen in this crypto space is what we should know. If you realize that the crypto world is a very risky place (fraud and so on) then you must have a strong defense so that you never become a victim. It is our own responsibility to properly practice salvation, failing to do so will be a victim.

We can protect ourselves in two ways. First, is to follow up those security protocols that had been commonly suggested like 2fa, use dummy email, use different passwords etc.
Second, is to be sensible towards safety and course of action anytime you do deal with your money yet there would be people who would really take advantage to those
who dont have much or sufficient knowledge about on things around and this is why scammers do exist no matter what because there were people who do get still
fooled and do believe with offers which are too good to be true.Other way is that peoples wallet or storage are easy to access.

I doubt scammers can be stopped, because they always have all kinds of ways to scam. Moreover, newbies who really lack knowledge of
the world of cryptocurrency will find it easier to become victims of scammers. So it takes a lot of education to avoid scammers, even though
it can't stop scammers. At least increasing education related to cryptocurrency can reduce the number of victims of scammers.

Can you stop evil? NO. So, can you stop scammers? Hell Nah! You can only stop yourself from being scammed. There will always be scammers out there. You need to learn how to identify and repel them.
Exactly. But we cannot blame those victims or those who will be because they are just tempted by the idea of earning profit. Making a research about something is not really expensive but victims might be fooled for a reason. This reason could be conformity. If many people engaged into something, there will be s trust that things won't go wrong. What's sad is that in every scam issue, there are lot of people being victims.

scammers wont scam with one to two people only but they want to scam many people at once to make the scam worth it because its hard to start again because people are gonna be looking for them and they need to construct another plan that are new to the eyes of the people .

the only way to gather more people to join is to start as paying , this way people will think its profitable and trusted then they will recomend it to thier friends , nieghbors and people they know .

You're somewhat right. However, there are different techniques to know if a project or idea is a scam. I find it annoying when people fall into obvious scams like money doubling, Ponzi schemes, etc. Some of the ways to identify if a project is a scam. No website, no team members info (if there's a website), asking for deposits, contacted you randomly(mostly on telegram). There are more. You sure can google your way through.

Yes. Scammers can't be stopped and controlled but they can somehow be minimized if we instill education not just to newbies but to the crypto community as a whole. Bitcoin scamming is already part of our bitcoin lives so much better if we learn to live and adjust in it so we can lessen scamming somehow.

Learning more deeper to prevent being victimized by those scammers, there's no stopping for this people so better to equip yourself
of more knowledge regarding to how they facilitate their business.

All should continue learning and never to stop adding information, scammers will continue to improve their business from time to time
better to keep yourself on-guard to lessen or completely avoid possibilities.

Scammers will always use dubious means to entice unsuspecting people to fall for their tricks, and by their actions its obviously very difficult to put an end to it, its unfortunate that Bitcoin is now used by these unscrupulous scammers to perpetuate their dastardly act.
However more public enlightenment is one of the way to minimize these scammers, letting people know how most of them operates is very important, especially when a bogus profits or high returns is promised for a  Bitcoin deposit that is a potential red flag for scamming.

The best way to stop scammers is to stay away from them, and don't fall for anything which looks too good to be true. if you receive an offer from random people claiming to double or tripple your bitcoins in short time, then you should realize immediately that it's a scam.
there is not any 100% secure system to protect anyone from scammers. it is all upto each and every individual person to protect himself and take necessary measurements to prevent himself from getting scammed.
Use a Secure wallet to Store your coins.
Use a Trusted Exchange to Trade your coins.
don't join any random and new exchanges and deposit your money if they have good promotions and offering rewards. everyone has to be careful himself. that's the only way to stop scammers.

We need to be careful to stop Bitcoin scammers. Remember you are interested in Bitcoin or other cryptocurrencies aim for long-term trading. You have to keep in mind that rollovers are not available for Bitcoin so the risk will be much less. Bitcoin prices fluctuate within a narrow range for a very long time and it is very helpful to identify the levels of strong support and resistance. Somewhere before exchanging or investing the charts have to be thoroughly verified newcomers can also make great profits and be protected from scams.

We cannot prevent them to stop the illegal things that they are doing but we can save others especially those who do not fully understand how bitcoin and cryptocurrencies work, a lot of people are falling to their attractive posts and words because of 2 reasons: there are really skillful scammers wherein it can be a look a like a real and legit investment but the other 1 is a lot of investors are becoming greedy wherein they want huge rewards in just days or weeks. I keep spreading knowledge not only in my community buy also in different social media platforms, financial IQ is really important and a individual can protect their selves from scammers if they know what they are doing. Actually law enforcements are keep implementing laws to protect their citizens from scammers but that thing is it is still not enough in order for the people to protect their selves from those scammers.

There's no point in trading off Bitcoin's decentralization and freedom just to have less scams, because we already have non-free centralized systems, and Bitcoin is only valuable because it's not like them.

you are definitely right, scammers are made out of trust. people should not trust any person talking about money and these things.

  • When you link your wallet with unauthorised application for easy access to withdrawal, you would get scammed eventually.

There will be always a good and bad side in this world.

We just need to well educated to prevent scam.
Stick to the basic rule, “if it’s too good to be true, it’s too good to be true”

Also, we need people to understand the difference between scammed through bitcoin, scammed by bitcoin.
Most people I know in real life still thinks bitcoin is a gambling, mlm, ponzi, binomo, etc.

We should be aware form free Bitcoin news or offer. Also we need to be aware from Double your coin or etc scam proposal. Scammers use so many ways for falling anyone in their trap. So we should be more careful and before sending or investing our Bitcoin we must be checked that they are scammers or not. If everyone should be more aware then scammers automatically stopped scamming and we can stop Bitcoin scammers.
