Title: [Scam Alert ] A Full Member scammed me $20 ETH.
Post by: Small Rabbit on November 08, 2020, 10:26:32 AM
boldar (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=125012) is a Scammer . I've send him $20 ETH first as a Full Member for exchange with $19.5 perfect Money. He scammed me. Please put negative Trust and make a red flag for this scammer. I am drawing the attention of the DT member.

Based on that screenshot you said that you can't send first due his negative feedback, but you did that anyway. What happened so you changed your mind? Is the fact that it was "only" 20 USD so you decided to take that risk?

Regarding @boldar, that user recently woke up after 3 years break, and based on his feedback he is not someone you should trust without escrow, as mentioned by @philipma1957, so you can't say that you weren't warned as you decided to ignore several red flags in order to save some money.

Why would you trust an account that already has some warnings on it? It's the main purpose of negative feedback. To alert you if you have plans of dealing with that person. On top of that, the account just woke up after a long period of inactivity. Anyway,  tagged.

Sometimes we can’t help if people don’t think about what they are doing. For such losses, there are accounts such as boldar.
If you can't read the warnings and don't look into the trust for a user who has been inactive for a very long time on the forum, you can blame yourself first.
I'm really sorry.

Waiting for @boldar to come  here and share his side of the story.

I don't think he'll show up here. He did his job.

I said i can't pay first. But I changed my mind because it was not a big deal. It was only $ 20.  Which is a very small amount. But he could not resist the greed of only $20

Rikafip, it doesn’t make sense that OP will or can try to blame that user. As you can see the address sent by boldar to OP and the tx link where receiver is the same address if boldar who received the ETH. I guess it’s a valid accusation.
OP, please move the thread to scam accusation.

That is exactly what a scammer would say, to make you change your mind. If I recall very well someone even scammed just $5 in the lending board not so long ago. Such people have nothing to lose because the account is already red trusted and worthless.

According to that screenshot of PM conversation that's the ETH address you sent him, and if you check hash, he sent ETH to that address. Or you claim that @Small Rabbit faked those private messages and changed the address in order to frame you for stealing 20 USD?

If this address is not yours, is the proof that OP is giving false or not? Since you said you would pay $20, this case would be over. But looking at the screenshot means something else about your activity.

But still one thing remains here and that is if you don't take any kind of money from him then why would you pay to OP? By proving the right information, you can prove to yourself that you did not scam OP. I will wait to hear your answer.

If that is not your eth wallet ID then why you sent that ID via PM?
And if that is not your address what is your address. Please provide an address which you have used earliar and staked on bitcointalk or an unedited post. Also sign a message by that address to proof your identity.

OP, please move the thread to scam accusation.
Now it is on scam accusation board.

Boldar is obviously a lying scammer and I gave him negative trust feedback.
He woke up from year 2017 just to make a prediction bet in Games and rounds Premier League Predictor on  October 27.
He should not be trusted.

OP please create a flag for him.
I hope you learned a lesson..

boldar used eth addresses:

So, you are saying OP has faked the proof? I doubt he would as it will be proved eventually. @OP, can you please make sure that you are not faking proof? You can select one trusted member like LoyceV (mentioned you to check if you are free to check the PM) or someone else and give your account credentials so that he can verify that you have been sent the address.

Supported, but you should better create Flag 2 - 'This user violated a casual or implied agreement with me, resulting in damages.'
Because you had personal agreement and he broke it.

You can also report PM to moderators and they can confirm if PMs are legit or not.

Don't try to tell a lie. There is clear evidence that you have given pm Small Rabbit with Ethereum address and he has sent small amount ($20) to your wallet. You can't check temptation of small amount. I saw your account was inactive and after a long time you have woken up and make a deal but ultimately done scam.

I've done that before, and I can do it if required. I don't trust screenshots as evidence.

That'll work too, if they're willing to spend time on it.

It's called fair judgment based on experience. After, seeing loads of scammers here. It' very easy to tell a genuine victim from someone who is trying to frame the other. Small Rabbit has a decent account and has been trying to make ends meet here by even managing a bitcoin paying signature campaign worth way more than $20. Why would he want to frame your already negged account for such a small amount?

I reviewed my sale to him many years ago. And the old complaints. And the op's record.  I support the flag and I tagged him negative.

This Subject to change if some mod/ admin/ whom ever can Read pm's tells me the pm does not exist.  But for now it looks pretty solid.

BTW. in these case's why do mods/admins usually not check pm's to confirm seems like they can and should do this.

Many thanks for everyone support. There are many more types of scammer here. And for them, the forum is being discredited in many ways. I have money.  So $20 is not a big amount from my side. But it is a matter of honor for the forum. Other high-ranking members will not be honored for scammers like them. Being a full member can't handle the greed of $20 . It's a shame. Everyone must be vigilant to suppress such scammer.

Scams aren't moderated, but it's also about privacy. I can imagine Admin doesn't even want to read PMs.
Clicking Report To Admin (http://) lets you send the PM to 2 Admins and/or 3 Global Moderators, so it's your own choice whether or not to share the PM.

boldar (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=125012)  is now gone to sleep again, and this time forever, but I am sure he has more accounts to play with.

My suggestion for OP is to pay attention next time and look at profiles and their previous post, because some people would even sell their own mother for few bucks :/

What do you want the guy to do, to go here and say sorry and give your money back, that's not going to happen it's very clear that in his profile that he cannot be trusted it's an account that shouting I am a scammer, and yet you take the bait and if $20 is not a big deal then you are inviting scammers to scam you.

I think is not inviting scammers to scam people. I think OP has changed his/her mind as Op could not make the deal. And Op might have not alternative option to make the deal at the same time Op probably thought as it is small amount it might not be scammed. But unfortunately scam has happened. Though any person who knows about trust, merit and post history would not make with that person. As that person had recent email change, almost no recent post and no merit.

I'm sorry this is wrong thinking what would a scammer going to lose, he will be tagged regardless of the amount it's not the amount that we count here but the action, I'm surprised that OP falls to this one, he is a bounty manager he knows how to look and what to look on people we are dealing here, will he accept people with a bad reputation in his campaign, of course, he will not, but his action tells otherwise he made a transaction to a scammer

I was needed $ 20 Perfect Money Urgent. So, after receiving his message, I decided to deal with him. I wasn’t want to send him ETH before at first. But later I changed my mind. Because, $20 Not a Big Amount. And No one will scam his full member account for $ 20. Because, now does not automatically increase rank for post. have to earn 100 merit to become a full member. This is a very difficult  to do now.  So now a full member account is worth a lot. But he could not resist the greed of $ 20. He lost his valuable assets for $20

He did not earned his full member account or worked for it, he got it when the merit system is not yet implemented, he registered here in 2013, when you worked for something you will value it, we can conclude that he disregard the value of this account.

This is a lesson to learn and should be noted by everyone here to always check the trustworthiness of the account before dealing, a rank is not a badge that member wear that tells you that they will not scam you, anyway, it's not your fault, you are a victim here.

You could still do this type of trade with trusted traders. On this forum there are lots of traders who are very much trustworthy.

And No one will scam his full member account for $ 20. Because, now does not automatically increase rank for post. have to earn 100 merit to become a full member. You are right but those people who has a lots of account which has been created before merit system. This account also created before merit system. Also purchased account and account which has been gathered as collateral as useless now. As forum members are now too much active to caught them.
