Title: Any idea on how to recover deleted content on twitter , medium , websites etc ?
Post by: AlexSimion on November 17, 2020, 01:08:33 PM
So as the title says , I'm curious if there's any way to see , recover some deleted tweets ,  or medium articles  or even websites.     I know about archive.org   but apparently it doesn't cover quite everything or at least couldn't find what I was looking for.

Do you guys have any idea how I can do that ?  I'm looking especially for a way to possibly see some deleted tweets.

Unfortunately that's only working if it's tweets from my personal account .   I was looking for a way to see deleted tweets by another user.

No idea if they give right answer but you can check this blog https://inosocial.com/blog/how-to-see-deleted-tweets/ .

It's better if you can archive everything that you need before that channel deleted the tweet or blog .

Twitter doesn't delete permanently the posts that has been removed from users, Twitter stores them on the server but only the original account can retrieve them.

You can try and see if google web-cache saved that tweet. Look for the answer of "Dirk Duyvel" here: https://www.quora.com/How-can-I-find-a-tweet-that-someone-has-deleted (https://www.quora.com/How-can-I-find-a-tweet-that-someone-has-deleted)

About Twitter and Medium you could contact their support team through an email and if you are enough lucky they probably will restore your content . About your website I am not sure there is another way to get your data back without webarchive. The only way could be a database file only if you saved the content that you need there.

If you read correctly the discussion the user is talking about post/content published by someone else. I think it's clear for every reader. So your answer is totally useless

@OP
The use of cache from a search engine is the best you could get unless you take action before. You could for example use IFTTT to archive what you're looking for and to read it later

If a tweet is posted>save it to google drive (or alternative), post it ti FB (or alternative), post it to WordPress as draft, Telegram, etc.
You will have to make an RSS for the concerned account.

ifttt.com/applets/WKiQF6bC-rss-to-gdrive?term=rss
ifttt.com/applets/rhYv7ixE-rss-feed-to-email?term=rss

There are several options

Yeah unfortunately no action was taken before , and this is a long shot but I'm looking for a tweet from about 2 and a half years ago .  So quite the long shot , but thought maybe there's a chance .

I use google cache sometime to get such articles thou it has to have been recently deleted, probably a few weeks or a month before the cache is updated

  • One way is by doing a simple search on google using quoted key words. This is very effect if you at least know a sentence of about 6 words from the article word by word. For example I made a search of this quoted words and got only websites and articles that have such a specific sentence "Not your Private keys, Not your bitcoins" will appear in the search results. Even recently deleted articles will appear in the search results, Click on the downward facing arrow and you will be able to access the cashed version of the page.

  • You can use archive.today to access google cache if you have the link to the recently deleted article. Just paste it under the search box and you will be given options to search from if the article wasn't archived in archive.today
