ETH 2.0 beacon Chain is officially LIVE 🚀

Great news for crypto lovers. We are eagerly waiting for Ethereum 2.0. Finally our wait is over. I hope Ethereum transaction will be faster now and transaction fee will be reduced. We are all embarrassed by Ethereum's high transaction fee.  Hopefully new technology will solve this problem.

I see that the current GAS price is increasing, and the ETH price is decreasing. What is going on ? isn't this what we've all been waiting for?

Hopefully, the presence of Ethereum 2.0 will solve the problems that have been happening in Ethereum, for example scaling and expensive gas fees. So, Ethereum 2.0 will have a much larger capacity to accommodate the number of transactions in DeFi applications. Then, DeFi players will keep popping up

We will see if the update from ethereum can give a good effect to the price or the price needs time to increase, but I see that the price can start increase although the price is not directly to jump higher. The ethereum price will be increased sooner or later, and hopefully, the demand from people to buy ethereum will also increase because they want to try the new update from ethereum. This is just the first step of the ETH 2.0 launch. This won't extend ETH capacity until Shards are introduced. https://ethereum.org/en/eth2/shard-chains/. But definitely, a huge step forward.

Its a very huge and great news to all the crypto enthusiasts. Because of this great development and event to ethereum it will resolve and fix several issue of its blockchain. Also, because of this many potential investors will be attracted by this enhancement and development.

Yeah, Sharding will make there TPS boost dramatically. I don't what's the current TPS or if its available but this news will good once they show the performance of the new blockchain.

It's good to buy ETH right now since this update means they are moving toward to a successful project unlike before that ETH V2.0 feature is just a speculation. Great to see this thread.  :)

We heard it right and finally!
I can't wait to have some fund and do the staking with ETH, I wish I can still afford it. Anyway, expect the price to continue to rise because ETH successfully launch their staking program and I'm sure the upcoming updates will also become successful later on. Its good to hold ETH seriously, this is a top altcoin that you should not forget to hold.

I guess it's the usual teething issues normally associated with new inventions. It will subside with time, I believe. I'm glad that 2.0 version is up running simply because I want to see all those prospective projects waiting for it to kick up to now start. There are no excuses any more for them.

This is the first time a huge project implements PoS (other projects with PoS were very small). This is amazing and it will open many possibilities, as we will be able to test PoS in large scale and see how the  network economy will respond. Also, it will be good to see the (de)centralization effects. Also possible security side effects.

However, as you said, the fees are still pretty high as the TPS remains the same. This is why the price and fees are stuck.

I followed a friend status that it may take till 2022 for ETH2.0 to be fully implemented that it's in four-4 stages and this is just stage 0, so don't expect gas fee to suddenly go down. It's a nice start though.

even though ethereum 2.0 has been launched but it is really very sad because it can't make ethereum prices go up and of course this makes many investors who put 32 ethereum in this project very disappointed because they cannot get a large profit. I hope that in the future it can still provide good hopes for investors.

atleast we moved one step ahead to ethereum 2.0 and we will see crypto community response about it and its  impact to ethereum price in near time. we still have another step before ethereum 2.0 finally launched. hopefully all step will run smoothly and there is no probelm at all.

based on what i read its true and we still need more to time see final version of ethereum 2.0 . gas could not instantly down meanwhile sharding not applied yet, so network still full load at this moment.

gas price should decrease when price of eth falls down because that is what others are doing but if the gas price still expensive and price is low i think there must be a bug thats going on thier first released but that bug can be fixed soon .

 i check eth price of eth right now and it was over 600 atm, that wasnt small and maybe that is the reason why you got a high gas cost but you didnt check the price of eth earlier .
 eth 2.0 have other purpose and it may not be all about fixing the fee or to make the transaction faster and its only on its phase zero  . dont pressure them guyz or dont expect too much

I believe it will take time to get all the results we've all been waiting for, and don't expect Ethereum prices to immediately rise and transaction costs to drop. I believe that one of the main advantages of Ethereum 2.0 is transaction speed.

Beacon chain is only phase 0, the shard chains are planned for 2021 and sometime in 2021 the current ETH1.0 is set to join ETH2.0 as one of these shard chains. It's still a long way until the final phase of the ETH 2.0 upgrade is completed and the shard chains all support smart contracts. If you only rely on transaction speed there is no point in pointing it, but if talking about it will make more people use Ethereum, it will have a good influence on Ethereum prices because it can increase its price on the exchange.

At the rate at which ETH is being charged gas fee, it is becoming difficult to use ETH blockchain.  Even after the launch of ETH 2.0, this kind of gas fee is unthinkable.  Is it possible to reduce gas fee in future?

Hopefully, the arrival of Ethereum 2.0 will provide a higher speed of delivery and have a lower cost. We'll see how Ethereum performs in the following days.

eth 2.0 is like a usb 2.0 in which the transfer of data are now more faster than the older version but for eth its not the data that is being transfered but its the transaction or the money .

fast transfer could also means more power consumption or on the eth means more gas fee ? i hope im wrong with eth but its still on its early stage and they can always make changes pertaining on how the gas fee works . for devices its okay to consume more power but charge or transfer faster but for eth transfer its okay to wait for more time as long as we can save money for the fee

Only the zero phase of Ethereum 2.0 is launched.  The improvements will be fully implemented in two years.  Therefore, it is not worth counting on the fact that everything will change instantly.  However, ethereum's scalability should gradually increase soon.  Only we need patience again.  So far, the main thing is that the launch of the improvements has been made successfully.  The result will come with time.

So the gas required for a transaction has dropped so much right now last time  I take a look at ethgasstation. Is it because ETH 2.0 or simply because defi craze or hype has died down?
Still, it's good to see ETH 2.0 that most of people has long awaited finally here. Sad though I can't participate in the staking and can't get the small share lol  ::).

We are waiting for the gas price on the Ethereum blockchain to fall to the minimum as it was before, because people are already tired of overpaying huge amounts for transactions, and of course, I think everyone is happy that we collected a certain amount of Ethereum to launch Ethereum 2.0, so this will be beneficial for Ethereum itself and for the cryptocurrency sphere.

All in all I would prefer for all these phases to take a long time. Kind of smart if you think about it, for the devs to line up everything in clear targets with achievable miles. Bet you they all have something in store to meet all the deadlines. Each phase completed is a big boost to the price too, so it's 4 more boosts to look forward to I think!

The start of the Beacon chain is simply one of the milestones on the way to ETH2.0
There is still a need for sharding (phase 1) and the migration of accounts and smart contracts (phase 2).

You have a point here. In a sarcastic way, but you hit it right.  :P Not all eth transactions will incur you that much gas fee. My recent txs, I paid very small amount. So I guess, it depends on the timing you are sending your token. Try to check the activity of the network before sending your token.

I really like this enlightening, many ain't aware of this. Most people think ETH 2.0 is only about this staking aspect, many more milestones to be achieved. I hope to see some aspects like reduction of fees and faster transactions come to lime light. I'm holding ETH for extremely long term, I hope I'm right at the end.

Well the upgrade has done so much with thr people believing in eth coin. But for most investors now is focus on the market price movement for bitcoin. We do not know what will going to happen in the market but high chance that ETH can go ATH instead of bitcoin. Whales can move their funds to ETH instead if they want. It will all depend on whales and that we should be extra observant with how the crypto market moves. Anywa, this is really a good news to ETH and hopefully you are right when you say ETH can go up to 1k$.

What everyone is expecting in ETH 2.0 has started and this will be the beginning of the new for Ethereum, i think future ETH 2.0 updates will help Ethereum increase and will reach ATH again soon, i see a long roadmap for ETH 2.0 so it is only a matter of time before Ethereum reaches ATH.

You should wait until the sharding implementation and currently, there are no differences with ethereum before the launch of ethereum 2.0 caused by the shading solution is not yet implemented. You must see that if this time ethereum is still getting 12.6TPS as the maximum TPS that can be reached. that's really small and if you are also seeing some latest tx in etherscan and the fees are still around more than 30 cents. Some tx were paying with 25 - 33 gwei but it has been putting big very big gas limits.

GAS price didn't change because the ETH network is still using its old mainnet. GAS price will be decreased after its shard chain upgrade has been completed which will be done in several phases within 2021. Then ETH network will be able to process 1000 transactions per second which is much higher than the current 15 transactions per second. Beacon Chain just created the base for future upgrades and bought staking features.

You need to understand that this is just the beginning of ETH 2.0 launch and there is still a long time to wait. I am also looking forward to this update will make the transaction speed on the Ethereum network faster and the fee gas will be lower.

When is the last time you sent a cent to someone?

It looked like it wouldn't reach that level honestly, for the first week or two when launchpad was open, it looked like we may not see anything remotely close to what it was required, however the closer it got, the faster the deposits became as well and eventually when it was getting too close, suddenly the amount skyrocketed and reached very quickly.

At first week everyone was talking about how it may take few more months after December to find enough money, looking back now I realize that was wrong and we didn't needed that much money at all, we just needed time. So we are going to end up with phase 0 now, which is not eth 2.0, that is something else, the phase 2.0 will be public at least a year from now, or even if it is faster maybe 9 or so months, we still have to wait for that.

Great news for all crypto community specially eth supporters and hodlers im sure eth will be bullish from here but do not forget that complete eth 2.0 upgrades and implementation will take from 18 to 24 more months so it could be a while before we reap real benefits.

Now literally nothing has changed except blockchain number 12345 has been created. (Eth2)
The only once so far who committed there coins to the new chain is Vitalic and his gang because there are taking 99.9% of its benefits the rest, some shills hoping to get filthy rich for some shilling.
Right now there is no way to know which chain will be more successful Eth or Eth2. Eth2 there is no way to know how much inflation and how many users actually willing to switch. Yes in years to come we all will know.


2 crypto years is an eternity in real world, you think other projects sleep in meantime. Eth/Eth2 is alreaty behind, another 2 years of goofing around with promisses and blaa blaa is in no way manageable.

I understand what you are trying to say about the ETH2.0 which will take some time for it to be effective cause it maybe be in the phase 0 first and people need to wait till it phase2 cause some change is needed to be done on the ETH networks and ERC223 is among it.

Eth is already behind?! You must be joking. They are light years ahead of all their competition when it comes to adoption. But in the end it doesn't really matter since the space is big enough for more than one project. That's also the reason why we see more and more development for interoperability between different platforms.

I wasn't really expecting to see its being launched these days. Because they didn't seem planning to launch it soon. So, it really surprised me. I am very excited and I can't wait to see its affects on Ethereum. I hope we could see a ath in price too.
