Title: The registrar has blocked my domain. What to do?
Post by: Aplud-Teor on December 02, 2020, 03:51:23 PM
I forgot to renew my domain and it is blocked now. I have been using this domain for 7 years now. I don't want to lose my domain. But what if the renewal price is too high?

What do you mean by blocked?

if you let it expire, you will need to pay whatever price the registrar wants.  :(

I think it all depends on the specific domain registrar. I would contact support to clarify this situation. Yes, it can be expensive. Even around $250. That's not news. If you are using a well-known, large domain registrar, then this is the case. I use https://pananames.com/ it costs less here. But you can find another lesser known registrar. When I registered the domain, the renewal price was displayed immediately. Once I also forgot to renew my domain on time and paid only $50. Although I used to pay 200-250 dollars. But it also depends on the domain zone.

If you use a decent registrar, you should be able to renew it within 30 days by paying the normal registration fee.

You're right, it costs $ 200. It is very expensive. Why is the price so high?

Because registrars can set any prices.
I advised Pananames. I have been using it for a long time, there are no problems. Everything will be cheaper, check it.
