Title: "Bump under 24hrs" reports suddenly being marked bad - mostly done on scam topic Post by: sandy-is-fine on December 10, 2020, 07:49:47 PM Wondering what may have changed. I generally use "Bump Under 24hrs" reports only to harass some well tagged known scammers when they bump their threads under 24hrs by 5 or so hours or more. All of a sudden those reports are being marked as BAD. I DO NOT care about the "BAD" itself but wondering what has changed. Maybe it has now becomes ONE BUMP PER DAY (DATE) or maybe that is what it always was and it isn't clear rather than once every 24hrs as noted in rules? I even had one marked as BAD when the mod actually deleted it.
From RULES: 13. Bumps, "updates" are limited to once per 24 hours per thread. Bumping multiple threads at the same time is allowed if it's not annoying. I even had one marked as BAD when the mod actually deleted it. It is unlikely that it was always per day and not the 24 hour period and the rules haven't been changed recently afaik. Time zones are quite different and working out when the day starts would be a hassle, also the time gap is pretty clear to avoid bump spam. My best guess would be an error on the part of the moderator(s) handling your reports. I think they've been incorrectly marked as bad though to be honest.

Consistency is key to moderation & at times there isn’t any in certain subs. Have never had a problem busting balls in over 3+ years. Oh well, life goes on. :D Title: Re: "Bump under 24hrs" reports suddenly being marked bad - mostly done on scam topic Post by: Timelord2067 on December 11, 2020, 12:30:26 AM The admin and mods don't have any kind of oversight (checks and balances) to ensure their work is appropriate - one admin/mod will respond to a post, another admin/mod will then delete the very post replied to by the first admin/mod citing the post as being off topic.
About a full third of all of my reports are marked as "unhandled" which means none of the admin/mods we currently have can make a decision on my reports - my reports are predominantly "bump" or "multiple successive posts" (and yes, I too get lots of reports that are marked as bad simply because of who the admin/mod is in a certain section). |
