So I just received my first product today which I purchased entirely through bitcoin. This made me so much happy today as I bought something (an actual product) and made the payment in bitcoin.
Citadel21 is a bitcoin magazine and I have got the volume 3. I made a purchase on Oct 27 and received the magazine today on 21 Dec which is almost 2 months but yeah it got delivered.
Citadel21 didn't even ask for any details other than shipping address (not even a registration on it's website) and accepted bitcoin payment.

I paid 0.0016 BTC ($21 on that day) which is now worth $36 but who cares. It's the USD that's fluctuating.
0.0016 BTC on that day is still 0.0016 BTC today and that is how I value my purchase.

To be honest, this is my first product which I got delivered from an international address. They delivered it from Finland.
This my first magazine I ever bought.
This book has the right message on it's cover i.e. HODL which is so accurate as of today while bitcoin is creating an ATH almost everyday.

I have used bitcoin to make purchases before but it was in an indirect way. I used to exchange bitcoin for fiat and then buy products with it.
The first time I bought something with bitcoin was back in 2017. I had bought a powerbank through my bitcoin earning. Had to exchange them for fiat though.
It made me so much happy to be able to buy something on my own that day. Bitcoin gave me the ability to buy many things on my own later.

I got the same feeling of happiness today. A sense of freedom from fiat is what I actually felt and it was truly an amazing feeling.

Maybe I will use also bitcoin to buy a product this week and I saw some stores who are accepting bitcoin now and I really like to try to use bitcoin as payment and hoping soon too see a lot of people will use bitcoin to buy a product so the exposure of the bitcoin will grow.

I encourage every crypto user to use bitcoin to purchase a product so we can see a value of the having bitcoin and the others too will encourage to use and to invest it.

That's awesome, because very few try to make a direct purchase whereas the majority try to make a purchase converting bitcoin to fiat. I've seen some online stores with the cryptocurrency payment gateway, haven't tried it. Possibly a small purchase will also help with the real-time usage of bitcoin which is much needed for the growth/progress of cryptomarket and large scale adoption.

Yes its true and inconvenient too because we do have to convert our bitcoin into fiat to be able to purchased such item that we wanted to buy. Well aside from this was the fee that we will going to pay by just converting our bitcoin into our respective fiats and whatsoever.


Hopefully i can do found any online merchants or much better a real business merchants that oofers bitcoin as a payment for their products, its a les husle and more convenient in any ways.

I have been buying stuff with bitcoin for a long time now.  I think the first purchase I ever made off of the forum was to apmex.com, buying a small piece of silver or something similar to that.  I encourage everyone to stop by the collectibles thread if you're interested in things like this..we have stuff like this for sale all the time.

Your name sounds Indian and I have seen you post in their local area, so I assume you are from India. I have some friends living there and I have never heard any of them saying of making any purchases like you did till date. They used to buy gift cards from me for their btc but never heard of a product bought by them against btc as they (my friends) are too conservative about conversion and high transaction fees for which they use their cash only to buy anything. Congratulations on your first purchase and the beginning of a new journey towards having more in future.

I do care about the fiat value because at the end 99.9% of things i use are sold with fiat and since fiat still have a great value in the real life it still means a lot, the true value of your btc 0.0016 now cost $36 which means technically the price of your item just cost even more  :(, it does amaze me when people say they prefer to use btc yet always happy about the btc fiat price increase and ATH  :-\

That's really impressive. I've been also trying to buy stuff with Bitcoin online as of lately but not to this degree. It has always been being converted to fiat every I purchase with Bitcoin. Haven't seen any store that completely accepts Bitcoin as payment without being tied to fiat in my country so that's really impressive on your part.

Though I find those magazines kind of expensive.

Kinda sad though that it almost took 2 months after your purchase before you get the actual magazine itself. Magazines should be give during the month in order for you to get the latest and up to date information and news and what is happening during that time. Right now reading a magazine that is saying news from October is really not news anymore. Maybe they should improve on their logistics side of end. Maybe if they improve this side their sales might even increase because of that.

Yes you are right. I am from India. For me it doesn't really matter much how much fees or conversion rates I pay. At the end, it's going to someone who could use it for something.
Besides if we don't use bitcoin directly then it's purpose is defeated anyway. I know this is just my first direct bitcoin purchase but I am still trying to bring a change.
I wish there comes many stores like Citadel who completely accepts bitcoin for products.

Wow! Congratulations for using your bitcoin directly in buying that product. Although quite a long time before being delivered but still worth it. Maybe I'll try that because I really want to experience also using bitcoin to buy some products but not too expensive.

This is primarily because 95% of the people living here only know btc as an alternative to stock market and some don't really know what it is and invest their money to receive a huge profit or huge loss. You can consider 1/100 will know the basic technical aspect of bitcoin and in the remaining 99 users 40/100 will use it to scam poor newbies and the remaining 59/100 will use them for trading with shitcoins alone.

Again as I said above only a very few know about lightning network. I am not bashing our country but that's the sad truth of the whole country.

I know the feeling man,  :), purchasing a product using our precious bitcoin is very different as compare to using fiat. So consider it a myself in your life, and maybe in the distant future you can tell your grand kids about our first experience with bitcoin.

As we all know that in our future, bitcoin might hold a significant holder or event that we can share. This is just the beginning, and for sure you will have so many purchase with your bitcoin. So keep it up, just like the Pizza guy, he doesn't have regrets.

I think the same, while holding our coins is without a doubt the correct long term movement if what we want to do is to obtain profits with our investment at the same time if we really want bitcoin to become a currency that is used by a lot of people around the world then we need to begin to use our bitcoin in that way otherwise that is never going to happen, and if we don't do it then who will?

How can we expect that the average person begins to make transactions with bitcoin when we do not do it? So I am really happy for the OP because this is a purchase that he's never going to forget.

I wanna brag the chili sauce that I bought 4 yrs ago in bitcoin too, but sadly the bottle has been lost and the transaction I cannot find due to junking most of my mails. But yeah, we all have that one purchase that we are proud of because it was paid straight through bitcoin and no intermediaries were given. Good job on making your first purchase, and it’s also crypto-related so that’s a bonus, too. We need more of these integration in the economy to stimulate the bitcoin market further.

Congratulations, a good experience, my friend, I also bought something with bitcoin in 2019. There is indeed a kind of pride when we usually buy something or goods with fiat money, in fact with bitcoin we can buy the desired item.

Congrats, man. It seems it has been a great experience for  you. Now let's make a thought exercise. What if more people could experience buying something directly with crypto and not fiat - do you think they would feel this freedom or they just don't care what they use to make payments as long as they are receiving the product? I'm curious to see some opinions about this.

Personally I try to refrain from spending Bitcoin as I know their purchasing power will be much higher in the future.

I can imagine that feeling where you don't have to convert to fiat to make payments. Let's be hopeful that more stores will accept Bitcoin as a means of payment, and it's just a matter of time before we don't have to always depend on the centralized currency of our different countries.

As a bitcoin lover, I would also be happy if I could make a purchase transaction using bitcoin. Moreover the goods come from and sent from abroad.
We  know  that  buying from  abroad if  using fiat has  to go through  several intermediaries;   it complicates this for me.  Whereas by using bitcoin
payments, there is no second intermediary, so it can be faster and more efficient.

Honestly it gives a great joy to buy goods with cryptocurrency especially Bitcoin. It gives a spendable feeling to the coin you have just like you feel with the fiat. We need more of this and as a believer it will be norm of the day very soon.

This is cool, but the 2 months delayed is not a good thing for me. The customer and the seller relationship should be always "If I pay today, you'll ship it today", this way, you could have your item as soon as possible and not waited for 2 months. Not all customers are patient like you, and I'm sure they are aware that having a poor service will give them a bad reputation and could end up in a very worst situation.

We should consider the fact that the location of their country is too far from each other. Any item that will be delivered through sea and air always consumes times. It takes a month or even 3 months for you to receive it actually. It also depends on the airport if it is traveled by air. All items that depart from airport to airport are all reviewed extensively to provide security and safety of their people. I must say the time it was received was just fine due to the proximity of their location. Its different when you deliver something from the same country because it would only take a day or just a week. Its impossible to deliver within a week when the courier was from a different country.

It was just a bit hassle because of the price volatility where sometimes you need to check the market value or maybe it is always better to just invest or hold your bitcoin than spending it.

We could say that spending bitcoin is a good thing especially at this moment where the market price of bitcoin is high.

Still, it's a good thing that we could see bitcoin growing and see a lot of people using it as a real currency that you could use to buy things online and even in a physical store.

Hoping that I can spend my bitcoin in buying something I want, I'm scared to spend my bitcoin due to volatility. Maybe soon, I have a courage to spend my bitcoin to something I really want. I also want to experience buying things with bitcoin so that I can show someone how it works and what are the uses of it. This is really a good adoption, a good thing to show other people how cryptocurrency and blockchain technology helped us to have a faster and safest transaction that we can do with it.

Be happy if you can still spend your bitcoins to buy goods directly because obviously that is certainly something once because the income we can make for shopping. not like me, because bitcoin is not recognized and has not been used as a legal medium of exchange, so  must first exchange it for fiat.
even though it's actually the same, it also produces the goods we want, but buying with bitcoin may have its own sensation because it's like it's different from other shopping.

I remember how happy and excited I was when I first bought something for myself from all of my earnings and savings from crypto.
The first thing that I bought from my earnings are Mobile phone and eyeglass.
But both of them are now gone the eyeglass was broken and the phone was lost.
The only thing that I have now from the early things that I bought from my crypto earning is a laptop and the 2nd hand motorcycle that I bought online.

I really love to hear this awesome news about this kind of delivery mechanisim, but it's takes longer time to deliver to your residence why? I might have some specific questions to ask regarding this, what kind of products best fit to be ordered using Bitcoin, I might need to order some quality product in African region, what exactly can be delivered and how much could be paid for. I have been searching for some companies that deals with delivering good via Bitcoin in my region, can anybody help?

^ Me too but let’s just wait until bitcoin is widely accepted so we can all use bitcoin to purchase anything in any categories. It might take time but we will get there soon. Once we have crossed that bridge, I will celebrate since after a long time believing Bitcoin to grow, we have achieved it. The first time I used bitcoin for purchasing was actually p2p so I wasn’t able to feel the way you felt right now. But still, it’s considered a successful transaction between me and the peer seller using bitcoin. Nevertheless, how I wish to have enough bitcoin before year-end. Cheers!

Due to high voting, it will indeed be a consideration for direct transactions with Bitcoin or not. currently if we have 0.01BTC (about $ 250) we can buy as many things as we want.
Bitcoin is a digital payment tool that is fast, secure and transparent and will become a payment method for the future.

However, for regulatory issues in my country, I do not allow using bitcoin as a means of payment like Fiat currency. There will be no online or offline store that accepts bitcoins. because the regulations given are limited to commodity trading.
