Title: More records for bitcoin as we welcome 2021.
Post by: Dokdo766 on January 08, 2021, 08:02:01 AM
It is extremely a good performance (btc trending at $24345, as at the time of writing this post ) no doubts for the first crypto, and it amazed me that BTC keep creating new cryptocurrecy records in December 2020, a proof that more institutional investors has fully reorganized the bitcoins/altcoins technology/development. I think that this achievement will remain unforgettable in the minds of all crypt enthusiasts, investors, traders and hunters in the future. It has been wonderful this year. What is your opinion?

its true this would be unforgotten since in 2020 we already reached and break its all time high record and right now we are still on the all time high, in no time we could see the price and it would reach $80,000 or more let's hope that this 2021 would bring us all good profit.

I am sure that 2021 will be even more successful for the crypto industry.
Right, I also think so, this year will be a golden year for Cryptocurrency, based on the history of bitcoin in the past years :
08 Jan 2016 $     457 (Bitcoin halving happened this year)
08 Jan 2017 $     908
08 Jan 2018 $ 16,476
08 Jan 2019 $   4,028
08 Jan 2020 $   8,161 (Bitcoin halving happened this year)
08 Jan 2021 $ 41,500
08 Jan 2022 $ ..........?

This figure you posted is incorrect bitcoin has gone above that figure in the past one week as at the time of replying this post the price of bitcoin is already above $40,000 so please edit and correct your mistake.

Bitcoin has shown some high level of recognition both to individual and institutions in towards the end of 2020 and up till now the records keep soaring high day by day.

I had to refresh my page multiple times to see whether you said about a valuation of $24345 as i am having a few drinks as the market moved away from those valuation a few days back and now the price of BTCitcoin is around $40,110  :D. I would say that institutional investors have identified the cryptocurrency market as an opportunity to make quick profit and hence they are investing billions and you need to understand that once they start booking the profit the price would dump like we have never seen before.

You really need to edit the current bitcoin price that you list on the OP. Even bitcoin has set a record $42K today.

What is your opinion?
Come on, don't forget to always be careful with the bitcoins you have (if any). Keep your wallet, account on the exchange, and other security safe. Price can fall at any time, so use money that you can afford to lose if you decide to invest here.

!snip

was it actually above $42k, did not saw it, saw that reached some $41,8k, but not above that, and as I can see coingecko.com ATH is below $42k, you should check this before publishing as well, and edit your post, as OP has to do as well
it is important to share data that are actual and true, I agree

at the moment, it is somewhere between $40k and $41k (it is a 2,5% range, so easily could gone above $41k)

Regardless of the price you posted, (which is obviously wrong), bitcoin's price is going up in record numbers. Institutional investors are the one that is fuelling this bull run and we really don't know when it's going to stop. Of course it already surpassed 2017 high's as we have entered an unchartered territories, and there's more room in this year to even hit 6 figure numbers.

As long as retail, institutions and those companies are investing, 2021 will be the biggest I reckon, even topping 2020. Of course there will be corrections, but if you are going to hold your bitcoin a full year then most likely it will give you a good profits.

No one knows when that time will come, it would happen that we will cross $100K+ before their booking. Remember 70% of the general online trader and general investor are already liquidate their crypto when we reached at 40k price, because they suspect a huge dump like 2017-18. But I don't see any notable dump, Now the market is going smoothly, it is reached on the overbought area and following the daily volume routine or correction or CME gap.

I'm normally completely pessimistic when it comes to the short term value of Bitcoin, and I made the prediction that it would drop for a few months a couple of weeks ago. Its lovely to be proven wrong though.

08 Jan 2022 $ ..........?
I wouldn't recommend investing based on this assumption though. Just because you've identified something has a pattern, doesn't actually mean there's a pattern. Investment should always consider your financial situation, and the current climate of the world. I feel like with the recent pandemic people might become a little too desperate, and invest more than they can afford to lose, at least expecting short term profit. (There's me being a little pessimistic again)

Come on, don't forget to always be careful with the bitcoins you have (if any). Keep your wallet, account on the exchange, and other security safe. Price can fall at any time, so use money that you can afford to lose if you decide to invest here.
I'm not entirely sure what you mean by this, but if you plan on selling at a certain price point, and holding until then keep your coins off the exchange. Its never good practice to store high amounts on an exchange wallet for longer than is required. Personally, I only recommend storing the coins on an exchange wallet moments before selling, and only moments after buying.

To be honest, I'm quite impressed by how high the price currently is. My predicted ATH for 2021 was 80-120k - now I wonder whether I was underestimating the markets, I mean.. we're half-way there already and it's only the second week of January!

I'm normally completely pessimistic when it comes to the short term value of Bitcoin, and I made the prediction that it would drop for a few months a couple of weeks ago. Its lovely to be proven wrong though.
The fact that the "what if this time it's different" idea can actually turn into reality is quite scary and exciting at the same time tho.

I have a very optimistic outlook on Bitcoin in the long term (which doesn't really focus on a ATH), but right now seeing the values that its already reaching is very exciting, and actually making me think that Bitcoin could become bigger than I expected. The main criticism I'm seeing from various places online is that Bitcoin is getting to valuable to quickly so it'll become an exclusive club, although that's not true in the slightest. Due, to the way Bitcoin is designed, it should remain fairly accessible for its duration. People put too much emphasis on 1 BTC = 40k, but forget that Bitcoin can go right down to a "Satoshi" (0.00000001). People get it stuck in their mind like traditional money where generally people only deal in 0.01.

I thought I mislook what OP posted in price anyway maybe it's a typo or he also mislook the price while typing, the price of BTC at $42k is impressive provided it's already just a start of the year, many thinks that like in 2017 ATH once the new year reached it will start to decline in it's price buy it's not what is happening, BTC still increasing and I regretted that I early out some of my BTC.

If we were to go by history (which has stated above isn't the best idea) Bitcoin does tend to correct itself after reaching ATH, but a all time high is only defined by exactly that; the highest amount reached. It seems we might not have set our all time high yet which means that we could still see a hefty price "correction".

Don't regret it too much, depending on your goals most people would have withdrew amounts before reaching any all time high, same as our last all time high a lot of people would have withdrew before it was reached. I tend to recommend setting a personal goal that you'd like to withdraw out, and then just enjoy watching the market from there on out, until you want to buy in again.

Hopefully this can be achieved, I think the initial target for 2021 is to be able to reach $ 50k first, because in the history of transactions in previous years the movement of bitcoin could only reach 100% and there will be a long correction afterwards, hopefully in in 2021 bitcoin could reach a new era and continue to increase over time.

This hefty price correction you're mentioning about is what every one fears. If BTC was to seriously come crushing down there will be chaos.

We now it will happen one day and we need to be prepared. It could be that the bull run continues for the entire year, but it is also likely that it may not.
This is why we must peer our eye open, and keep up with the market, the consequences could be devastating for many

This could be a new ATH and it will always remember by crypto enthusiasts and yes, they will never forget this moment and this will always a part of 2021 that bitcoin has reached the ATH in the record. I guess they will forget the year 2017 bull run, they will keep talking about this year which we experience bull run and doubled the previous ATH.

I'm happy enough to see that the market experienced a massive high, it's proved to the new investors that bitcoin investment has the potential to gain profit if you are holding this.

We can't conclude on the ath of bitcoin. In no time the growth could happen as well as corrective changes will happen. As the market is manipulative people with large volume of holdings tend to manipulate the market. This time it hasn't happened, maybe the network isn't supportive for the same. Every day Bitcoin is making a new history, and I expect the same to be carried forward.

Bitcoin is creating a legacy in science, technology, and economics. It is not only the fact of making money for some but it is transforming the entire industry.

Now due to the crisis the path is to digitize all sectors and this change is beginning in the ways in which large capital investment institutions are setting their eyes on Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies, the next step is the banking institutions that are creating their own blockchain and coins.

Some bitcoin advocates think not to sell their precious asset but leaving it as generational wealth.

At this important moment we are its great viewers because we have already seen the ups and downs of bitcoin and this new stage that will consolidate it as the most important asset.

I don't regret believing in Bitcoin since 2016, because 2020 was a very memorable year for me. Because investing in Bitcoin can provide
a very large profit compared to investing in other assets. Moreover, entering the beginning of 2021 Bitcoin gave a surprise by going up
even higher, even the Bitcoin price was already above $ 40,000. This has happened since many large companies started investing in Bitcoin,
I hope throughout 2021 Bitcoin will continue to rise in price.

He's online today and he hasn't edited it. Maybe it's just a mistake for the price and he has jumbled the first and second numbers. To enjoy the fruitful year, don't forget to make yourself happy by taking the slightest profit that will satisfy you to take some for your savings.
Around 1%-5% profit won't hurt your portfolio or even 10% if that feels you happy. But if you don't want to, hold until we see the highest for this year.

This isn't anything new to the enthusiast that has spent some couple of years In the industry, so just like the previous runs it'll easily be something that will be forgotten and new memories will be created as other bull runs comes by. The newcomers will be those this experience will mean a lot to and probably will stay in the minds for a longer time as the chances of this repeating itself isn't certain until another halving years is upon us.

Not that we won't see bitcoin breaking new milestone but at the rate it occurred won't be recorded anymore for some occur of years instead a slow and steadily movement will be recorded then similar spikes in price will recommence after the scarcity of the coins has been increased via halving.

Anything you say here doesn't make any sense. I guess you meant the market is "volatile" not manipulative. And would be better to stop spreading fear by saying that the market of bitcoin can be manipulated by someone holding large amount of coins. It is not as easy as you think to manipulated the market of bitcoin. If it were some random altcoins, then yeah, it would have been easy. But in case of bitcoin, it is not. Sure, they do get manipulated a bit, but the price quickly gets corrected.
The current rise is not from manipulation, but due to high interest of various large scale companies in bitcoin.

The new year can be a wonderful year for Bitcoin. In 2020, elections and vaccine news paved the way for this development, and large corporate investments in Bitcoin were able to continue this trend.
I hope that these improvements will continue.
This year bring new hope for people who already invest in bitcoin. They can hope that this year can give them the opportunity to recover or make a lot of money from their investment. After getting a loss from a long time ago, people seem to celebrate this moment by selling their bitcoin and take the money for their profit. We can hope the trend will continue this year and next year, and we will have much time to see the bitcoin price will reach a high peak.

This is really a good start for us, bitcoin investors, as we are seeing positive movements in the market.

Bitcoin already achieved a lot of milestones from $20k, $30k, and now $40k. Imagine that in just a month its price doubled in the market that's why people are still patiently waiting on when it will have its peak to sell it. Until now, there are still positive movements in the price of bitcoin and it is really hard to determine when to sell.

Although other people already sold their bitcoin, there are still investors who are determined to have a much higher profit from it.

This year is really having a good run from the start, 2021 please be good to us.

Many researchers has predicted, that 2021 in the price of bitcoin will be more increase than 2020, where the price of bitcoin was between $19k to $28k. Bitcoin has break the record first in history of crypto by $30k to $40k which no other cryptocurrencies have ever reach the price in the exchange market.
According to researcher, this is just the beginning of the rising of bitcoin price which by the half of the year 2021 bitcoin price will definitely reach $90k.

Yes it is, The momentum is very strong and that's how the price of BTC and alts are gradually increasing without any full stop, The massive pump has been the hot topic every where from social media to newspapers. More and more to come in upcoming years I am desperately waiting to see a dump in the market if this happens I will surely buy and fill my bag and I will wait for few more years till it reaches 100k and I am planning to to make a resolution for this... phew 8)

I see so many shared article in social media sites so I believe this one creates more good attention to the people right now, also this is the time that we need to be careful although the growth is so solid and we should be careful about the dump coming so that we will not regret to exit at loss. But since the price is projected to reach at $50k almost come to reality for sure more demand will came that could lift bitcoin to reach the target price.

If there's one thing I won't forget about 2020 apart from the pandemic, that's the price of bitcoin reaching $20k and over. And now that we're in 2021, bitcoin's price is now over $30k. That's a good way to start the year as well. Further, the price is continuing to increase and might set another record. But, the year just began and there will surely many things to happen as time goes by. For now, let's just enjoy the pump we're experiencing and get ready for the dump.

Elon musk i think posted on his twitter supporting one dogecoin. So imagine a billionaire in support of cryptocurrencies. Banks will eventually find ways to monetize cryptos on transactions.

When Elon Musk called on his followers on Twitter to "use Signal" he meant an application for encrypted messages, but some people apparently took that completely differently.
Shares of an unrelated company called "Signal Advance" rose more than 600%, raising the price from 60 cents to $7.19. ;D

The organization behind the Signal Messaging app published Twitter status on Friday to make it clear that it had nothing to do with Signal Advance.

Bitcoin showing people what it's capable of is the highlight of cryptocurrency 2021, what was once thought a pump and dump scheme is now burning everyone's expectations and pockets because of transaction fees lmao. Realy though I hope they do sometjing about it because there is no way someone's gonna fork over 300 dollars just to withdraw $2500 earning. That's too much.

Can someone give a reasonable explanation on why this post was meritted? I am in bitcointalk for a while but I still don't understand exactly how merit works.
Is it given to posts that correct others? Is it because you liked this post because of the content it provided?

Appreciate it if those who meritted explain how it works and why this post deserved 8 merit by four different accounts.

Also why this post was meritted and the rest bellow and above weren't. I mean it has to be something exceptional I overlook?

Bitcoin has certainly reached new heights this 2021, having a record high of 50,000 dollars. I guess it had something to do with Elon Musk and his support on bitcoin. He has also influenced other people to invest on this cryptocurrency, thus increasing the coin's demand. There is also a speculation that bitcoin could top out at $150K to $300K in 2022. The current bitcoin (BTC) bull market could accelerate around September and then slow down by June 2022 before entering a bear market. That’s according to Jiang Zhuoer, CEO of BTC.Top, one of the largest cryptocurrency mining platforms based in China. Of course this is just a forecast, and is subjected to change.

You should correct the figure of bitcoin 2021 ATH you stated
Code:
$50,000
you are not correct as bitcoin has done $61800 market price sometimes in late February.  2021,  the year came with a lot of price increase and adoption for bitcoin and that has been as a result of bitcoin scalability. I believe this is just the beginning of bitcoin breaking new limits we are going to see more price surge as time goes on.
