Title: What are the things to look for when buying Altcoin?
Post by: 91254vvpatel on January 23, 2021, 04:58:03 AM
Currently, if you want to buy any altcoin, it is very difficult. You can't choose an option quite easily. Also, the crypto market is currently volatile. In such circumstances if one wants to buy altcoin. So what should be the main focus?

The current cryptocurrency market is highly volatile. Buying any altcoin at this time is a little risky. Because I think the altcoin season is almost over. However, if you want to buy Altcoin, you can notice the 24 hours trading volume of that Altcoin, you can notice that Altcoin ATH, you can notice the difference between the current price and ATH.  Then you can buy coins at a convenient price.

I am trying to focus on the top 20 coin list and search for which coin can profit. I do not pay much attention to the new coin or project because I am not sure if the new project can succeed in the future. Besides that, I do not know if the new project's news will be right or not, so I think if I can stick to the top 20 coins list, that will be enough for me to analyze and try to make a profit.

It's not a safe time to buy altcoins right now but who knows? The risk might be worth it, that is if you can afford to lose a certain amount of money, though the best time to invest in coins is bear market, have that at the back of your mind

People will tell you different things what to look out for in buying alts since risk is here mostly with alts, (things like the dev profile, past and present experience, project ideas, partnership, utility and so on) but truth is this things are just one part of it, the other part is the future uncertainty, if the project will survive long term (which depends entirely on the team and how committed they are to the project)
So at the end, it is all about following your guts feeling and taking risk, don't forget even top 20 alts is not a guarantee, take xrp as an example.

A prerequisite in the crypto market is that you must be consistent with knowledge and preparation.  Volatility is a good thing for this market, not to find anything but to learn and what the plan will be?  Don't let your mentality be dominated by procrastination.  What is planning ahead of your strategy and specifically defining your goals!

before buying altcoins, I saw the potential development of these altcoins. if there are developments such as going to listings in popular markets, or developing concepts, and projects, then that could be a good reason to own the altcoin. however, I'm currently only focused on popular altcoins.

Maybe look for coins that are well established? Coins that are constantly being developed and has an active community. Avoid coins that offer nothing new and are just clones of other coins. Don't go chasing after coins that are being "pumped" 100x in a day. Those are usually shit coins and are being manipulated by the developers so that when people starts to invest in those coins, they can dump it and make profit for their own while rest of them suffers. Just learn about the coins before investing it and see how much potential it has.

I would keep most of my funds and use very small amount to buy promising projects like DOT, LINK or other to make good profits, honestly this isn't a time to go way in unless you have other means of survival, jobs or work etc, buying now is just too risky but what can anyone change if they aren't willing to take risk? So risk only what you can afford to lose

Those alts that was introduced since 2018 and still keeps developing and bringing new updates and making good partnerships any time they good can consider good enough to invest on, at least this coins have been in the market for some time and have been doing well to keep the development of the project going.

Before buying, you need to decide or instead your main focus should be on, if it will be for long term or short term, this is because top altcoins are good for long term since the team has already decided on what they want and continues working on it while many new altcoins are not good for long term, and the reason is many might do swapping in the near future and if you are not aware, you end up losing, another reason is that, many project team are only active during the launching of the altcoins and once they are listed, they goes into hiding with the excuse that they are working behind the scenes but yet the price keeps dumping, the group becomes dull with little to no activities and slowly they might leave the project.
Also, you need to focus on how active the team are, especially the CEO and most importantly, you need to focus on the use case and what the team has down so far towards bringing it to reality, because many team are excellent in writing their ideas on whitepaper but fails woefully in bringing it to reality, not even an MVP to showcase how serious they are.

The main focus should be the fundamental of altcoin and liquidity. You must also take the momentum as a thing that must be considered by the investors.
In fact that if the bearish market will always become the best time to buy back and wait for the recovery.
Timing is also a part of factors that must be taken as consideration before try to by the coin. As long as you buy that in the correct time and when you can enter in the market at the correct time and you willl be get a lot of profit.

Let your top priority be the project's potential, how useless the project is will determine it's adoption rate, look at Polkadot performance presently, at first things was slow around this project but after some new projects did well running on Polkadot the project became noticed and everyone keeps taking their piece

It all depends on your level of understanding. If you are a noob then invest in the top 50 altcoins on CMC. If you are able to analyse and understand the concept of a project then invest in IEO or ICO. It all depends on how much you are able to deduce a project based on the white paper.

Investing in the cryptocurrency is starting to attract attention, the most important thing is that we must know when is the right time to enter and when is the right time to leave. Usually before I get into the crypto market, I always check the historical price of a coin and analyze whether it is in an up or down trend. Yeah, currently the crypto market is unstable, making a purchase is a bit risky, but I always use stop losses strategy, my focus remains on the top 10 coins and buy some top altcoins to reduce the risk of loss.

Although it is difficult and cannot choose options easily, it does not mean traders should stop at this time, because people who are always focused will always find ways and ways for this, because when the price of tokens and coins starts to rise like now, then you can buy USDT tokens first to store your assets, but if you already have tokens other than USDT, then you can place a sell order at the price you want.

For me it's the whitepaper. In essence, you can see their intentions from reading their whitepaper. You can also spot unsuspecting things from the team by reading the whitepaper. For me though, I decide in the whitepaper to see whether the project is being handled by 15 year old monkeys or a dedicated developers. Well, we have our own preference, this is just mine.

The biggest factor for me when buying an alt coin is how popular it is. I tend to look at the average daily volume traded in that coin voer the last 90-180 days. If there is almost no volume in the past and the trading only picked up recently it might be an indication of more investors swichting into that coin. So if the price is too high now, it might be better to wait a few month again and hope for a lower price again once all the short term traders swichted out of the coin again. Also looking at past traded volume in a coin can help give an indication on how fast you could liquidate your positions again.

First stop thinking about how you can get rich quickly, and keep looking for ways to secure your wealth before you want to increase it. That's what I think people need to do during the alt season, typically the last short time when the market has had a lot of changes and the signals are not clear and people start to sell what they bought and accept. receive losses, those are the mistakes that people make when coming here to seek wealth.

I will trade coins when it is listed higher volume exchanges.

In my opinion, things to watch out for when choosing to buy altcoins

1. Ensuring the Legality of the Exchange
In choosing an exchange, the thing that must be considered is security. Check if the exchange offers two-factor authentication (2FA) security which is a security standard.

2. Transaction fees
All exchanges charge a nominal fee from the user for both altcoin and Bitcoin trading. As such, you can check the details about fees which are an important factor to look at if you want to choose a platform for buying and selling altcoins.

3. Great timing
It's nearly impossible to perfectly time the market for altcoin investing. There are periods of extreme growth and lots of rough patches too. Before you invest in cryptocurrencies, check the historical price of the coin and analyze whether it is in an up or downtrend.

if I want to invest in cryptocurrency, then I will look at this factor :
1. already have a product
2. always have progress
3. have a high trading volume
4. already listed on major exchange
5. top 500 on coinmarketcap

Don't put your all money in a single coin.
If you can hold it for lang then go with top alts, but if you want quick gain(more risk) then you need to be better in fundamental analysis.

The main focus while investing should be the project product, use case of their token etc; is it achievable? can it draw in interest and adoption? You have to focus on this because the whitepaper is not enough to do justice.

That's right, now the whitepaper can be manipulated by anyone in the project, especially the scammers who are smart enough at this point, so the whitepaper can no longer be the main reference in choosing a project because considering that many projects make plagiarism in their whitepapers.
Indeed. It is not advisable anymore to read or check the whitepaper of the project before investing because some scammers are smart enough to make their project look promising in a fake whitepaper that some of them are just copying others' ideas to look good. It is why I only invest in top coins in the market because I don't want to risk money on a project that is not legitimate or unsuccessful.

OP, you need to know that the cryptocurrency market is never stable and will not be stable due to the influence of supply and demand. Cryptocurrency price fluctuation provide trader with profit and lose, also fluctuation can never be eliminated from the cryptocurrency market.

Altcoins may still give you profit through investing and trading, but some people are still not interested in buying them just because they believe that most altcoins will only end up in shitcoin which is hard to give you a profit. However, you can still invest in some of the best altcoin CMC version of, this will make it easier for you to choose which altcoin people like as their investment destination.

I'm not talking about altcoin that are selling via ICO, IEO, DeFi, or anything else. I only recommend that you invest in current well known altcoin because they may be far superior to newer altcoin.

This is a very good question. There is no exact answer to this question.
I believe that in any case, you should lay the probability that everything will go wrong as you please. In this case, you will not take the market attack against you as a personal fiasco.
It is best to look at the work product of the project, continue to see who uses this product and then who else can use it.
Buy when there are rumors of a new partnership and sell when it was officially announced.
This is all theory as you understand...

If you are thinking in buying relatively new coins or coins that are outside the top 10 then the most important thing is to avoid being scammed at all costs, even investing in a coin that goes down is not as bad as you can recover some of that money, but if you happen to invest in a scam you are never going to see that money again, so before you invest in any coin you need to research the most common ways in which you can be scammed so as to not fall pray of those criminals while looking coins in which to invest.

Before buying altcoins, we should do some research first on the altcoins we want to buy, because the decision to choose or buy altcoins is quite complicated, especially because altcoins now have many types, what must be considered is the volatility of each coin, it is better if we also look at history to the altcoin price analysis. We can also follow the official altcoin website so that if there is the latest development of altcoin, of course we can take a stand to buy, hold or sell later and knowing the altcoin background is very important to determine which altcoin we want to invest in in my opinion.

The main focus should be only about buying quality project shares aka tokens, the loss is the best way to understand how the new projects are going to scam anyone. Before checking the profit/loss ratio, understanding the market risks will clear so many questions about the investment. No preparation about the market risks can make everything difficult and differently.

Unfortunately, the working mechanism of investing in the altcoins have been destroyed by the market makers. The greedy exchanges make money by taking a money from teams and listing the token of the projects. If the token trading value and total interest go down after getting listed on that exchange, they will send batch emails to investors to sell or withdraw the tokens. Of course, it will late to sell the dumped tokens and this is how they scam us.

The main focus is what is your investment or trading strategy and also your money management. Many investor fail to gain profit because of that. After that u can research some Altcoin from Coincalendar to see coin which have some good events soon, because its probably affect on the price. Dont forget to research the team behind it, so you can put more trust on it.

IMO, only experienced traders will only focus on a quality project since she knows how to find one and the loss is not only the best way to understand if a new project will exit scam since scam project operated in a new dimension.
Having said that, I believe the first to look out for when buying altcoin it the community support level, historical data, cap, and concept.

for now I'm only focused on investing in altcoin that are in the top 10, because the risk is smaller and of course the price will definitely continue to increase even though slowly, because in my opinion the increase in cryptocurrency prices is not the same as in December 2017-January 2018 (all altcoin prices increased very high), but for now only a few altcoin prices will increase very high, therefore I will choose to invest safely instead of losing my money and for now I choose to invest in ETH, DOT, ADA, LTC and BNB.

For me, the main focus when choosing altcoins is to look at the market cap of these altcoins, the higher the market cap, the safer it is to buy.
In my opinion it is not that difficult to choose altcoins that are worth buying, like I said just focus on the market cap. Because altcoins with
a high market cap usually have a high demand too, the more interested in these altcoins the easier it will be to generate profits from these altcoins.
Maybe the rest is a technical matter for determining the buying and selling price, which if you do the analysis correctly can certainly determine
when is the best time to buy the altcoins of our choice.

Use that volatility to choose actually. Do some market analysis too, always check for news about that certain token/coin, if its checked out to be a good news in the coming days, better have em at lows. Read some TA's of well-known crypto enthusiasts for some advice too. And always check from time to time the token you wanna trade. This is what my mistake in trading XRP (https://trade.kucoin.com/XRP-BTC) actually in the last couple of weeks. Bought them at .55 then it suddenly plummeted down to .23, huge loss on my part for not checking on them. Dont make the same mistake as I did. Good luck!

I'm usually going after MVP (Minimum Viable Product) or partnership with at least one very well known player in the industry. Then I'm moving to tokenomics (is it adequate) and then to the team. The team should have at least working LinkedIn profiles (to more about them) and best-known in the community.

It's a risk versus reward game. If you don't have the time to do the diligence, stay with the Bitcoin.

At least before buying it would be nice to see the growth of these tokens, and how many communities and enthusiasts of these tokens are on several exchanges, if it is convincing and good to buy, then it will be better for us to trade, the profit and loss problem all depends on how we are react to it and our shrewdness and our patience is also needed in every trade, so the solution remains calm ..

Yes, that's correct. It's not an easy task choosing a particular alt to invest in, especially at a time like this. Two things have guarded my decision in picking alts to buy in the past, and those are:
1. I check if the alt has utility and use-case. My attention is drawn to alts that have real life uses and can solve relevant issues.
2. The total supply of a coin is another thing for me. I don't like investing in a coin with a huge supply. I like to keep supply under millions. Anything billion scares me. Well, I can manage 1 billion mark if I think a token has irresistible programmes and utility. Anything above 1 billion supply is me just trying to play around with loose money.

However, I have added a third recently — Community. I like to look at tokens with active community on social media. It somehow gives one the idea of what's going on with the project.

Most of the tokens perform well if the project has a good use case and a realistic road map. Also we need to see if the supply is not very high and the major portion is not with the devs only. If you are newbie, you can choose from the top 10 altcoins and in most of the cases you will be in profit by just holding them.

Currently, if you want to buy any altcoin, it is very difficult. You can't choose an option quite easily. Also, the crypto market is currently volatile. In such circumstances if one wants to buy altcoin. So what should be the main focus?
This only applies to new coin or those who are holding a crowdfunding because it's hard to see the potential of the coin, when it is not yet in the market but on old coins you just have to look on three things it's performance in the market, it's community and it's platform they should all score high if they do then it's a coin to invest.

the main focus on altcoins in my opinion is etherum. however, with the situation currently in a bull run, delay buying. Our focus now is to observe the market, whether the market movement will be the same as what happened 3 years ago or not. after a bull run, in an instant it will be bearish. well, if that happens in the future, then we must prepare investments for the next trend.
Why ethereum? we are talking about the thing before trying to buy the altcoins and that will always be linked to the TA and FA analysis which is really needed in crypto. People should focus to analyze the future of crypto-based on the product. The trend will always come when there's something new in the crypto market. The whales will be hyping it.
The observation must be focused on the project.

Then you do not understand anything about this market at all, I do not understand it, but your judgment I think it is completely wrong. Given the current market situation, I find it quite easy to choose a coin to invest in, the problem I see in people like you in this market is that people are new to it but hope again finding high profits in a short time, and that is why you always make mistakes in choosing alt.

If you find it difficult to choose, I recommend leaving to avoid wasting money in a meaningless way. Otherwise, listen to this, actively by the coins that are the foundation of the market, in this space we see a lot of those value coins in the top50, and the more important thing is to keep it carefully until the target.

Thank you for the insights. I usually focus on the team's backgorund as well as their development on the products they develop. If they don't have a team that is relevant to the industry, I probably won't invest in those altcoins/projects. because the possibility of failure will be high, besides that the activity of the team in building products must also be researched, are they serious or just want to make easy bucks

I rarely invest in new altcoins due to the fact that a huge number of new altcoins are just scams, so I most often invest in top proven altcoins and therefore I do not need to study top altcoins since I already know their capabilities and technologies and this saves both time and brings me profit on an ongoing basis, and when I sometimes invest in new altcoins, then I usually invest in altcoins that conduct IEOs on top exchanges like binance, because I know that exchanges like binance will not conduct IEOs for scam companies.

Yes, but if the old coins are already in the popular and top categories, I don't think there is any need for repeated checks, because coins like that are definitely in high demand and are already on all the top exchanges with a very decent volume.
There's already quite the amount of old coins still exist to this day with low trading volume, it's just most of them left in some smaller unpopular exchange like for example BitSend I remembered it was such a bomb back then with the weekly airdrop which amounts to few bucks if I'm not mistaken. It's now becoming unpopular and have low trading volume. Such a waste though. Most of the other unpopular altcoins as you've discussed already died because natural selection based on trading volume which means delisting.

Basically, I will suggest you that you should check the bitcoin price & dominance because altcoins mostly react according to that, if btc dominance & price is having a good correction then you should buy alts in btc pair.

I always study what interests me this or that coin. Benefits of the token-issuing project for society. Are there any peculiarities in comparison with other projects. What are the developers' plans in terms of project development. If a coin is just a copy of an existing cryptocurrency, then I see no reason to buy it.

I do not understand the reason why you said it is very difficult to buy altcoin, maybe probably you do not yet understand how to buy because it is not. Just look for any of the top rate exchange platform. Check coinmarketcap https://coinmarketcap.com/rankings/exchanges/, you will find the list of the exchange platforms. Volatility is something that everyone have to cope with because it happens often however, you intend to buy for long term investment, I am very optimistic top altcoin will give you good returns. The current bull runs affect mostly bitcoin and ETH. many of the other altcoins have not really pump like it was in  2017/2018. I believe their own season is coming so this is the best time to buy.

At this stage as the market is expected to grow because of longterm bull cycle i would suggest to not take high risk by investing in new projects rather stick with top quality coins and for that i would suggest vechain and tron as i think both of them are high profit projects.

How come that it became difficult when you want to buy an altcoin? you got too many choices in exchanges to choose from if you're aiming for an altcoin.

Ethereum.
Dot.
Litecoin.
BNB
These four are the contenders IMHO but they do change depending on the market's look.

If I may add here, when it comes to altcoins, I now look not only the use case but if they have also active users for that application. Because basically, any project can create a good use case but when it comes to actual application, only few to none are using it. So if the use case will not hit in the market, still there is a chance that they will have short lifespan and so it is easy to abandon this project. So for me, it is better to look for app with many users and actively using it , not because they were required to sign up because of some rewards, but because they find this app useful in their daily life. I think that will be more sustainable.

My main focus when buying alts is legality. We can see the SEC cracking down on cryptocurrency projects like Ripple and they have a history of destroying other projects. If you have invested in a cryptocurrency that:

raised funds from the public

the devs control the supply

is managed by a company or foundation

Your investment is at risk and could possibly go to 0. I'm only buying mineable cryptos right now where the devs don't control token issuance (RVN and 0xMR for example).

Let me share what i do when try to buy new coins.
First of all i look at Twitter about that particular coin, what all the veteran traders think.
Then i myself personally do a background check up of the coin, about it’s growth and downfall.
If everything about the coin seems to be alright, then i buy the coin at the current price.
Soon after i buy, i place it in sell at 20% profit and wait.
That’s what i do when i buy any altcoin.

First need to check the website and the transparency in the project. Further the whitepaper to know, does the project has got a minimum viable product. Next want to find the opportunity for profitability/growth expectancy. Altcoins are part of the market, but we need to understand and analyse well about its plan of listing on exchanges and the trade support from the team.

Initially, you must build and plan your purpose of buying altcoin towards what goal? You buy altcoins to make a short profit or wait for the light from them. In response to that, do not dismiss your thoughts and be wise if you cannot judge the situation. If you are just starting out in the crypto world, feel confident to embed on the platforms that have created trends for altcoin such as ETH, TRX, LTC or breakout like Dot, LINK .

The current digital money market is profoundly unpredictable. Purchasing any altcoin right now is somewhat dangerous. Since I think the altcoin season is practically finished. In any case, in the event that you need to purchase Altcoin, you can see the 24 hours exchanging volume of that Altcoin, you can see that Altcoin ATH, you can see the distinction between the current cost and ATH. At that point you can purchase coins at an advantageous cost.

That is is exactly what you should do when it comes to big time investments, however depending on how much money you have, putting 10-50- even 100 dollars into some small time stuff that you want to see succeed wouldn't be a problem.

You could always tell apart the real good ones and the real bad ones, I have seen one that has been worked on since 2018 for example, it is not even a defi, it is just a portion of it and it is basically a "hub" type of system that people use this token for, I have seen how it would be basically great and no way it could ever be scam because it is decentralized after published, I did invested and made double return.

I am not saying everything is like this, all I am saying is if you want to invest 95%+ of your money into eth and ltc and that type of top 20 coins, that is definitely the right call, I wouldn't invest huge amounts to unknown coins, but if you want to gamble away 10-20 bucks nobody can blame you neither.

To invest in altcoins then we have to look at the development of the coin if the price movement is good then we can buy the coin, but the risk remains and it is already our order, to be safer we have to choose the top altcoin so that the risk is lower and currently a lot of altcoins that we can hold because the price movement is very good.
Development is most important how to know with success or not some coins at the future, I think bad development will get bad result with coin keep lower price always, bad when getting good development by burning coin, keep buy back when coin have lower price and always looking for new partner become good way how to see coin on higher price, I think never buy an coin without good development and owner looks lazy how to get new feature with their coin.

If you bought cryptocurrency early last year it would have been better for you. Just look at the price then, even the altcoins you are talking about were at low price, Ethereum that you’re seeing at $1,400plus in recent times was at $150 and a lot of people doubted that it is going to cross ordinary $200, but now it did.

Those times when the market is low and hovering at that low price , that is when it is best to buy, those times they are really much volatile and going crazy as they are doing now. You can still go for Ethereum now, since it hasn’t reached its last ATH as Bitcoin has done.

Well, it's not that quite hard because you can choose among the top listed coins on CMC unless you are a fan of newly created coins and love taking a high amount of risk, yeah that would be a lot difficult. Personally, I choose coin in accordance to the volatility yes but mainly on the volume, the highest volume the better for me at least. That is why I personally taking ETH, BNB, DOT, and more 'cause they are really good coins to invest with. There could be potential on new coins as well but it is more likely you are mining a diamond, it's pretty rare.

There are lot of factors I consider before buying an altcoin/s or investing on it. Some of these are; the exchange/s where it is listed, it's volume in market, the team that develop the project, the community, and etc. I would like also to know what other traders consider, so that I can learn from them.
Yes. It's also good to know how much you want to invest, its risk tolerance, the exchange or trading platform where to buy, community behind the coin, the technology and its value, where the asset is heading, and the project's whitepaper. There are a lot more. Just keep on doing good research.
There are obviously countless amount of things you should check before you invest into the projects, however if you could make a list on excel about what you should check, and then you find out about a new project, you could always go to that excel, check what you should be looking at, find that and depending on that excel and how much that project covers, you could potentially make some profit from it as well.

These days those check lists are growing even lower, back in the day we only invested into projects with very good teams, after that it became just having a team was alright, nowadays we do not even care about the team anymore because there are anonymous projects people invest into. This is why you need to update your list time to time but at the end of the day if you have a list and check each project against that list you would be capable of finding better projects.

Title: Re: What are the things to look for when buying Altcoin?

The first thing is the quality of people behind the project, if the team promises to do something and are not technically sound to pull it off the project will fail, you need to have a project that have huge chance of success, the second is the price, is the project overvalued or undervalued, if undervalue you scale into it and another thing is the community, how vibrant is the community, if the community is sound and vibrant then the project will likely do well in future and make you money

I take a gander at the normal every day volume traded in that coin throughout a good timeframe. On the off chance that there is basically no volume previously and the trading just got as of late it very well may be a sign of more investors exchanging into that coin.

So if the price is too high now, it very well may be smarter to stand by a couple of month again and trust at a cheaper again once all the momentary traders changed out of the coin once more. Likewise taking a gander at past traded volume in a coin can help give a sign on how quick you could sell your positions once more.

The white paper is always good to read the news about the company and their future deals about the project, till now I have gone through many company white papers and failed to lead that development, not only Whitepaper we should keep track the team in all possible ways. I will trade coins when it is listed higher volume exchanges.

I agree about the Whitepaper parts, but I stopped doing trades on major exchanges and only trade on smaller ones now like Uniswap. Uniswap is able to integrate smart contracts in a way that token creators can be creative (as seen with DeFi and ReFi spaces). For instance, SiFi can have 5% fees on all trades en automatically redistribute them among holders. I think those kinds of mechanics will be more common but they are not possible on Binance.

So I guess what I look for is that they are only listed on Uniswap so that I am sure the mechanics are in place.

I often look for low market cap and low total supply (<10 million).

the right timing when buying and see market conditions first. or see news from a coin if they announce something on their platform.
or buying top 50 altcoins is also a good choice. no matter what happen market will always volatile, and we  should keep attention for that.

I'm attempting to keep my attention on the best 20 coin list and quest for which coin can profit. I don't give a lot of consideration to the new coin or project since I don't know if the new project can prevail later on. Other than that, I couldn't say whether the new project's news will be correct or not, so I think if I can adhere to the main 20 coins list, that will be sufficient for me to examine and attempt to make a benefit.

It's not a safe time to buy altcoins right now but who knows? ~ though the best time to invest in coins is bear market,
It should depend on your goal. If you buy altcoins for a long term investment, then I agree if it is not the right time to buy. But if your goal is for a short-term target such as daily or weekly trading, why not buy now. I already proved that buying altcoins right now isn't a bad idea. The volatility of the cryptocurrency market made it something peculiar from all other assets or investments. There is always an opportunity for volatility in bitcoin if when manage from the beginning of investment. Altcoins aren't too volatile, most especially those with stable mentality, so, when chose what altcoins to invest then always remember that: any altcoin without a proper case use won't run for long term rather for short term.

We're the same, I mostly avoid the new projects until they became popular and proved to be as good as the others. I don't waste my time investing on them but I take my time researching about them.
It is one factor when you buy an altcoin, if it's quite new, you can have a basis that you should avoid it if you want to.

All of them are volatile but you should look for the ones that you will profit from. That’s why a lot of people would usually tell you to go for top coins in the market, since these ones are already well established and there are lots of investors that are buying and selling them daily.

Anyone that wants to make investment should be looking at the potential of the coin to grow in the future, I have seen coins that people will invest their money in and at the end it will not be growing, instead you will be losing money from your investment. So you should make your choice wisely.

The current cryptocurrency market is highly volatile. Buying any altcoin at this time is a little risky. Because I think the altcoin season is almost ups and down . However, if you want to buy Altcoin, you can notice the 24 hours trading volume of that Altcoin, you can notice that Altcoin ATH. If you really buying altcoins for short term meaning you want to gain profits for short period of time you need to learn how to trade. Observation must be focused on the project. Then you can buy coins at a convenient price.

Ranking plays a critical role, because not everybody is fan of low trading volume and no matter how justified your explanation would be to convince investors to invest at that particular coin, you never have the power unless you're like Elon Musk that surely influenced the market a lot.
CMC would be your first step into finding one, obviously.

As of today, there is no altcoin season yet and all cryptocurrency users are waiting for the period when prices will go up. Based on this, even an inexperienced cryptocurrency user can, without worrying about possible mistakes, make investments in the highest-rated altcoins, having more confidence in future results than investing in unknown or personally unexplored cryptocurrencies.

Try to do some research about the coins such their utilities for community, marketcap ranking, the team behind the project, if the coins have big utility it will grow better in the future as many people use it and need it or you can put all your capital to top tier altcoins.

Yep it's difficult to find an altcoin that we can make a decent profit but I mainly focus the old coins to invest because it's less risky if you just hold for long term and of course they can multiple your profit if the bull run occurred, old coins can mooning.
Yup, I agree better to invest in old coins like BNB, LTC, & BCH if you have less knowledge about investing in crypto.
First I make sure that they have a great roadmap ahead and the purpose of the project looks promising. Altcoins that are very active community and huge partnership with different platform not only in crypto world but it's a huge point if they are back up with popular companies that exists outside the cryptoworld. If they have plans to be listed in top cryptocurrency exchange like Binance.

My main focus will be that coins which has fast and upgraded system at present time. Here i see DOT and ADA is very popular with its blockchain system. ADA now in number 3 position with 37B$ market cap that is amazing and DOT also moving same speed. So there is no objection to choose ADA and DOT coin from market.

Look for coins' potential and check their previous movements so you'll have an idea of how to deal with them. Choose active coins with high volume. Check for their prices and see if they're worth buying. Most of the good coins are old coins so doing research will still be a big help.

1. The quality of the team , a good team will not disappoint

3. The level of hype, hype is very important in a project life now especially if you are looking to flip the tokens and take your profit

-Investment / Trading
-Analysis

all three in my opinion should be the reason we make purchases and are also based on analysis. because if only based on seeing the price we will not be able to benefit. Many people may be stuck with the price of bitcoin or altcoin because they can't analyze and their goals are not clear for long-term trading or investment

Most of the new investors in the crypto market only look at prices and charts. the weakest one is the analysis of the product of the project and its development. if you want to buy a lot of better assets that we must examine first.

Investing in altcoins are very risky, coupled the with the high volatility of the crypto market, I mainly focus on investing in altcoin projects that are already established, the top 20 altcoins are good to invest in, e.g the likes of Eth, Ada, Bnb etc, while for new altcoin projects, there are alot of factors to consider, like how does the project solve the current problems we are experiencing in the crypto sphere, I check the team and how much they were able to raise and the partnerships they have with established crypto projects and so on, would still advise you to stick to established projects to avoid falling for any new altcoin scam project out there.

Have it at the back of your mind that you are taking high risk buying altcoin in this time of crypto market where you can't even predict if market will grow further or not, so it's good to go for well developed altcoins and also invest very little amount of money, even if bear comes unexpectedly the Altcoins can be hold for long term without any worries

High trading volume or level of voting can indeed be an indicator but it returns to the purchase objective for investment or trading. because if the reference is only volume I think it is more relevant to use as trading because we are talking volume. and for the platform in the longer term, of course many are interested in long-term investment
that's just one factor that needs attention. Personally, I prefer the development of a project before checking the trading volume on the market. Well, it is important to see if the project has a lot of demand, but to see the potential, I might first look for developments in the project carried by the altcoin.

I think first you need to choose for yourself which coin you can buy in order to get a good profit from it. But since the market is not stable now, you need to buy the most promising coin that will bring profit in the near future. You also need to pay attention to which exchanges this coin is traded on and what the trading volume is. You should always do a little analysis when buying any coin.

That is obvious, and when you put it that way it is always good to choose when it comes to investing are the coins and tokens that are in the top ranks, which always have the potential to be profitable in the near future and also always have good volume in all markets.
but buying assets for investment in pump market conditions as it now carries a greater risk. The biggest risk is the correction that cannot be avoided when we rely only on market price analysis.
currently, there are many good altcoins on the market and many have even experienced high increases. but they are all range to correction when BTC starts correcting.

In choosing the altcoins to buy I look at whether it has potential and whether it is longterm altcoins because I know that it is also one of the things that investors look at and another thing that investors look at is the total supply of a coin if there are many this or less because other bounty hunters and investors believe that when the supply of a coin is low its price will be more expensive but all I can say is it depends on how good their projects and goals are.

My main focus when buying a new Alt Coins is usually looking at the trading history over the last 90 - 180 days. In my opinion we can get a lot of information out of the past data. My key indicators are usually the high and low prices and the average daily traded volume. If there is most of the time no volume in the coin I am a bit spectic, because it could be hard to get out of the coin if prices start dropping. Also I don't want to close to the highest traded price over the last year. Volatility is usually a good indicator of how much the price if fluctuating and if it is a good timing right now to buy the coin. Maybe it is better to put it on the watchlist and monitor the price for the next few weeks to try and get a cheaper price.

actually the market is very volatile and buying a new altcoin can be a gamble, before taking a similar step we need to see the team that proposes it and its real use, perhaps it is better to wait for its listing on exchanges and not buy during the ico , ieo etc
Buying in the ICO phasing is like throwing away your money and even after they are listed at exchanges, you should observe the trend because a lot of coins will manage to get listed on decent exchanges but then play the pump and dump game. At least wait until there is a decent market cap for the coin, if you are buying when the coin is still developing you are taking risks.

Moreover, market cap is a good indicator of how popular a coin is but it doesn't always tell the full story. Consider the example of Ripple (XRP) how it is still among the tops coins despite everyone who is active in the market knowing the ongoing problems they are facing against the SEC.

I would say along with market cap we should also keep an eye on the trading volume and the recent graph because if both the trading volume and the graph is going down, it means there is surely some problem with the coin, and it's not the best idea to invest in those coins.

Apart from the obvious facts like checking the team and checkign what the project actually wants to deliver you should always check the token utility and the tokenomics.
What use case does the token have? Do you need it to use their platform, do you maybe get some extra rewards when you hold that token like the Bonus you get for holding kucoin-shares for example.
Also check how many token does the team keep for themself and how long they are locked.

In addition with that, I prefer for the altcoin to have the use case in the market that is already up and running. Many projects can just pretend they have use case but they can't implement it to reality. So for me, if the project is active and working, the better. Rather than waiting for months and months for them to develop their product, which most of the time, will never materialized.

Pay attention to the prospects and benefits of the project as a whole. First of all, evaluate the potential for growth, whether there is room to grow and what to give to the user. In fact, there are not many good projects. The main thing is to have enough funds to invest in profitable coins.

Each user has their own favorites, many praise those coins with which they managed to make good profits :P. But in fact, no one knows exactly what will happen next, so you need to look for good assets yourself and track the movement of coins.

choosing altcoins as an investment is not an easy thing (although it looks easy) because not a few traders even suffer significant losses because they are careless in choosing altcoins as their assets, in choosing altcoins, of course there are many aspects that we need to look at before we buy these altcoins, I usually personally analyzing price charts before making short-term trades, but for long-term altcoin investing, of course I will look at several factors, such as:
1. See the coin supply amount
2. See product potential
3. Viewing the track record of the team
4. use of the product in the real world

There are already a lot of suggestions from other members here in the forum but here's my own method on how I verify tokens personally before investing in that token.

Probably the first thing that I check is coinmarketcap and search the token in if it is available on that website, if it's not available probably its too early to invest in that token, if its available check the market where that token is available if it is already listed is many exchanges or something if it doesn't list in probably around 5 exchange it's probably too early to buy the token.

Then check the token website, check the utility, is it a Defi token or something, check the website if it's legit, check the whitepaper. If everything checkout you could probably decide if your gonna buy it or not. I mean investing always has its risk.

Things I consider when picking an altcoin:
- Is the coin listed on an exchange either cex or dex doesn't matter.
- Does the coin have any token burns(these stimulate price to rise)
- I also put into consideration the coins market cap (coins in circulation and supply)
- Not always but I also look at the blockchain the coin is using as this  gives me a hint on what transaction fees to expect

For newer coins I have to check if the project is unique and likely to survive, check team behind the project and any known companies in partnership with the project etc

The main focus should be the top exchange listed coin with a very high volume. If the price is already pumped, I think we should avoid it. Another strong point is high volume with a low price. 2018 coinmarketcap was 700-800 billion, now 1.5 trillion. Another point is now over 8k altcoins exist, which amount was only 2k-3k altcoins. Now cryptocurrency is very volatile, so take your actions carefully.

High volume altcoins and listings on a large market like Binance can be an indication for trading. As for investing in current prices, isn't it the right thing? the price of altcoins has experienced a high increase at this time. If we start investing now and want a new high risk ATH because all of them have been able to penetrate the new ATH in recent weeks

That's exactly what you have to say. And it is best for long term investment. But not all alt coins can be listed instantly on a large exchange. It's not that they don't have that ability. It is difficult to get listed on a large exchange immediately even if there is capacity. And even if it happens like siba inu, it becomes difficult to get it at any cost.

That's because each exchange has a way of choosing which projects to list on their exchange. indeed not all projects have that capability. on a typical Shiba Inu, it looks like something different. although we haven't seen anything major happen. but seeing that once it is listed on a big exchange like binance, the trading volume of SHIB tokens increases so much.
I hope this time there will be more projects that have the ability to be listed on the big exchange quickly. because if it takes too long it is also not good for project market development. it could be that they will lose the competition and lose investor support.

1. IDO
2. NFT
3. 2021

If that suits you, then I suggest you to take a look at Deedy Digital, they will have an IDO and NFT platform soon where you can trade, sell, buy, rent NFTs, enter lotteries etc.

I think you could start by asking yourself why do i want to buy altcoins? Pending on the answer you would have to look at different thing. What is the risk i am willing to take what is my horizon? Etc.

If you are in it for the long term look at established coins that have a good history. If you are looking yo get rich quickly go with the flow.........and hope for the best. The selection of voins is the last thing to do and also have a plan and stick to it soemotions do not get the better of you.

In my opinion, what to look for and pay attention to when trading on an altcoin is to see the potential of the altcoin. If the altcoin you want to buy has the potential to be better then it is best to invest in it, another thing I have noticed is the Altcoin development team, if there is a team that already has experience and is well known for being great in digital currency development then I will be there. inside it.

Currently, if you want to buy any altcoin, it is very difficult. You can't choose an option quite easily. Also, the crypto market is currently volatile. In such circumstances if one wants to buy altcoin. So what should be the main focus?

The main question for you is whether you want fast incomes and big risks or want to invest for the long term with lower risks.
If you are tolerant with risks you just should follow trends and news.
If you are a conservative investor, you should rely on fundamental analysis. Try to investigate docs, ideas, team members, partnerships, community and tokenomics, of course.

Now, investing in altcoins is under oversold pressure, which means you need to predetermine the sentiment, accept the volatility and put your absolute faith in that coin in the future. Determining your investment stance is important. Some people don't usually do this and they jump from coin to coin, they just get more damage.

Apart from banal investigation of social media, development team and tokenomics, it will be great if you look through the smart-contract. Of course, it is quite difficult if you are not a programmer. Nevertheless, there are some points that you can check as well and make some conclusions. For example you can switch to page “Write contract” and check if there is a function “mint”. If there is such a function, it means that an owner can call it and mint as many tokens as he wants.

That's true, with the number of coins and tokens circulating in the markets makes it a bit tough finding good projects to invest in, to add to this, a lot of projects are already on their way. In addition to this, it is also good to point out that, many of these listed projects are already dead.
Going back to the main question, in as much as it might be hard to know about good coins to buy or invest in, it is also possible to Invest in the good ones.
To begin with, you have to know if it is an already listed altcoin or upcoming, if it is an already listed altcoin then know the team plan towards the project and how much of their roadmap that is being followed, this will give you an idea of what to expect. On the other hand, if it is an upcoming project and you are okay with that they are promising, you can invest and sell when in profit, then wait for price correction, from this price correction or dump you will be able to understand the strength of the team, their experience and how hard working they are towards staying on track. If they are still on track while developing, then you might want to buy back again or move to other coins like ETH.

myself, my main focus when I want to buy some altcoins is; what I noticed first was the altcoin platform, then who was the developer and the team that supported the growth of the altcoin, then I saw the movement in the market, if it has good potential then I will invest in that currency

I was always seeing if the developer behind the project actively growing the community and partnership with other popular projects. partnership will help the project either for short term and long term, also whether the project gets listed in a popular exchange too or not. Most of the project that have become successful mostly get listed in a popular exchange because it also helps them growing their popularity.

Altcoins are lucrative investment assets, but not everyone knows how to invest in an easy and profitable way. One investment method that matches the nature of altcoins is Dollar-Cost Averaging (DCA). By following the Dollar-Cost Averaging (DCA) investment method, investors can protect themselves from price fluctuations and the risk of loss. DCA itself is not a new strategy in the investment world. Various investors have used this investment strategy on various other assets.

When we want to buy altcoins, we first see a stable market movement, a strong analysis of each alcoin volume is needed to see the altcoin season has started to decline so it's a little risky for us to buy at this time,
i usually see the amount of holders if the price seems to be at the bottom, just see the amount of holders in etherscan if it keep increasing day by day then it has the potential to eventually explode because that kind of project just needs the right timing.

Your main focus is to research the project, read their whitepaper, roadmap, what is the use case of a coin, not just investing without looking the project. Yes it's difficult to find a good coin but research the project is only way that we know if it has potential.

In buying regular altcoins I see the movement of their sales graph, supply, and ath, where when they reach a new ath we can easily predict when we can buy the token again, next I consider whether to enter the big market or just a normal market

1. For a new altcoin project: For me, buying altcoins is like buying a product. You need to check who he is, what his product has, what is the roadmap, how many people are developing the product... etc. It is the most important step to determine.

2. For the coins already on the market, I only focus on the top coins, user base, trading volume, platform and product. It is important to know the nature of the market, the risk of price bubbles, etc. manipulation.

the simple way of looking at altcoins to invest would be to check top 100 in CryptoCurrency Market Capitalizations and invest in any of them.

But after the rise of ICOs there are more than 1000 cryptocurrencies in the market. Most of them have no or little use. Many of them are veiled behind big marketing words.

Due to this, I wrote few things to look into a currency before you invest into it:

First things find the following about the currency:

Launch Date
Current Price
Market Volume
Exchanges which have listed this token

I know our opinions will differs when it comes to what to consider when buying or want to invest in any altcoins. I have this major thing I consider first and after that I take some other stuffs too into consideration. But the first thing is the team and the problem the coin is out to solve. I try to check if the reason behind the creation of the coin is good and the team set up. And it it's a coin that has been listed on several exchanges, I try to analyze the market and know how good the coin is doing in the major. Since, I'm a forex trader too. It will be very easy for me to understand the chart and make better decisions.

Buying altcoins is not difficult as long as you look for more detailed information about the altcoins that you are going to buy at this time, there are many altcoins that are quite good if we hold them for a long time, and we can also buy altcoins to enter into staking so that we can store them safely dan get rewards.

I'm sick and tired of being exit scammed and rug-pulled by scam projects. I only invest in mineable projects with no dev or team wallets, like 0xMR and RVN. That way I can't get scammed again.

The main focus in my opinion is that coins will be purchased whether they have an opportunity to increase the price.
Apart from that, in my opinion there is no. Because I myself only focus on selling values.

other than I noticed the low price I will be the focus on the platform. then what is important for me to pay attention to is whether the altcoin is listed in coinmarketcap? I think this is very important to pay attention to because if it is registered there, it is very likely that the altcoin has the potential to increase its price further. I think that's the way to choose altcoins to invest in

first, you should see the price of the token if you are seeing that this altcoin is going very high percentage then in my opinion you should avoid that token because if you buy a token at a high price then that's token have much chance for down because that token has  gone high price

Any improvements over the currently successful altcoins or Bitcoin if it does not have any improvements or new ideas then it will be worthless past the hype at the start.

I now rarely choose altcoins because it's so hard to believe which one will provide benefits or even will make my asset value decrease. but if there is a moment pump in an altcoin and that has top volume, maybe I will buy it too. and its only a few % of my total assets. just choose assets that you can hold long-term without hesitation.
