Is gmail is safe and good for the Exchanges signUp/SignIn or any other secure email like tutanota or protonmail or something else.

One of my friend using Gmail and it got hacked..🥺

Any suggestions for the gmail security or something else.

I've been using protonmail for sometime now and haven't had any issues with it, it's secure, safe and end to end encrypted. Recommend highly.
Gmail also offers a fairly good security in my experience, but poses privacy concerns as the messages are not really encrypted and as such you are not certain who or which server is reading your mails without your permission. If you do care about your privacy, you'll be better off using protonmail. You can also opt into the paid version

Remember not to reuse email addresses for different services and to change your unique password often.
2FA would also improve security

Security mostly is going to depend on the user, not necessarily on the email service provider. Tutanota and ProtonMail are mostly only better than Gmail in terms of privacy.

As for your friend using Gmail getting hacked, I'm going to guess that there's a 99% chance that it's your friend's fault, and not Gmail's.

As for 2FA, while SMS 2FA is mostly better than no 2FA at all, it's far better to go with using 2FA apps like Google Auth or better yet, Aegis: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5192978.60

For sure there is no problem on email service provider. It is on your friend's security problem.
+1 with mk4, additional alternative for 2FA is the Twilio Authy 2-factor Authentication, I am using it now. And it is also good since you can use it with multiple device.

Quick tip: separate your crypto related accounts with your personal or work related email, it may help you to categorize and if ever some of your email address will get compromised, not all will get affected.

Gmail and Yahoo mail is good to be used to register on the exchanges. As long as you can protect the email and the exchange by activating everything, including 2FA and telephone number to be verification and other things, you can prevent the hacker. The user does not care about their account, whether it is email or the other account, and they don't activate the security that has been suggested by the provider. Mobile SMS will be necessary to activate, so you will see a number verification sent to your mobile number every time you log in to your account. Gmail verification needs a secondary email to be added to the main Gmail, and you need to add your telephone number just in case you forgot the password or else.

Authy might not be the best but it's definitely enough and far better than using SMS authentication. Just remember to turn off the "Allow Multi-Device" option on the "Devices" tab of your app to prevent other people from importing your Authy account to their phones.

Gmail is what I used to register my Binance account and when I asked my friend about the security of Gmail when it comes to this, he told me that there is no need to worry as long as you are not clicking any suspicious links, downloading apps that might be infested with malware then I am safe, I regularly check the Gmails that I use in haveibeenpwned.com so I have a heads up on when should I change my contacts to prevent possibility of privacy leak. I also learned that I need to move my telephone verification to another phone that does not have the Gmail that I use, so I can isolate if there is a problem in any of my devices.

i still use GMAIL , even after i got hacked on 2016 , of course its totally my fault using same password on all account and also without 2fa on that time . for now , i never get problem like that. about which the safer , many people tell protonmail is more safer than gmail, but i just kind lazy to change everything, that why i still use gmail.

hacking mostly does not have to do with the email provider, its basically the user"s duty to take charge of the account security. if you register an exchange with an email, you need to add a 2fa security like authy or google authenticator also to prompt every login. with this you wont have any issues. sometimes sms 2fa usually delay depending on your country network provider.

Just want to add that after creating a Gmail account, go to your Manage your Account (https://myaccount.google.com/) section then head to Security page where you will find Google's recommendation to protect your account. Spend time understanding those as it will save you from future trouble.

While email providers help their users with security, it's still in our own hands how to make our personal stuff secured from fraud attempts. Be responsible and always "think before you click". Unsolicited emails involving the names of some reputable and popular trading platforms always happen so be cautious with that.

Every mail service provider gives the same amount of security to your account the only difference between privacy, not the security.Your emails can be hacked in lot of ways but the most common way is to get phished so don't use your mail for useless signups like for surveys, free subscription or any apps that require email to use because they will collect your data and can sell it to anyone which will be later used by the hacker via mass mailing.

2FA with the authentication apps are better than OTP codes via SMS because most apps n your device will have the access to your calls and messages, another way is swim swapping.

On my personal preference, using authy as 2FA authentication for mobile device would be enough to be considered as safe for log in security. I don't know what lapses that your friend did for what had caused him been hacked for signing up at any unknown exchange. Most probably he'd able to exposed some of his private details, that why security breach happened.
