I understand what you are trying to say but bear market with BTC at $20K still sounds funny. Maybe because $20K was just the target not too long ago and I've seen it drop to $3K level.

High cap altcoins will survive but all of them will suffer as well. We've seen it happen in the last cycle and it won't be different this time. Bitcoin is the real investment and altcoins are for speculations.

This is just wild thinking, and I know the market is very strong these days. so there's no way this might happen. but come on, the possibility of a market crash is still there and haunts us in the future. If that really happens (which I hope will not) and we are talking about the value of alts in USD then all of them gonna be affected except those which have their own moment of pump at the time of bearish because the significant rise of BTC price in USD affects alts value heavily in USD too.
ETH will be able to survive, maybe there gonna be a huge dump as well but still, it's gonna survive, XRP in the other hand still faces SEC can't say much. But, that scenario only happens if worse comes to worst.

One of the lessons I've learnt from this space is that nothing lasts forever. I sincerely don't wish to see the bear market soon, coupled with the fact that more institutional investors are coming into the market, but that doesn't mean that the bear market cannot creep in anytime. I understand that Elon musk seems to give the space he's support and that has increased the level of confidence in the cryptocurrency space, but anything can still happen, so it's best to be prepared for whatever happens.

The bear market will not happen in the next month, but that still possible to see it. If that really happens, you need to prepare your money because we will see many major coin prices go down, and bitcoin prices will also down. But we do not know how deep the price will down, and we can just follow where the price moves. If you still have money, you can be ready to buy any coins you want at a low price and hold it until the price can increase. If bitcoin would really drop below 20k within a week than no altcoin would remain unaffected, most of them would probably lose more than bitcoin itself. It has always been that way.
But i also that most altcoins would survive. I mean just because they drop in price by maybe 80% or so doesn't mean that they are dead. They would be just at a price level where they already were a few month ago.
Maybe very small projects that just started a few weeks ago would be in risk of dying out, but not well established projects.

This season has been a very different season, although there isn't a sharp drop in bitcoin it could still see any altcoin crash hard. In fact, bulls can occur at any time of any coin this season so it really shows which coins have good and bad futures. Because even some coins can create new ATH whereas many other coins just make recoveries they basically don't have support to touch previous ATH.

Crypto currencies with the highest market cap will survive like we say top 100 cryptos from coinmarketcap may not be going to zero but it may take more or less impact depends on their utility.

I will say that if the bear market is about to start next month then it is necessary to set stop loss limit for coins in your portfolio and take 20% is enough to consider that bear market begin so sell all of them and wait for the dip to buy again.

This is definitely a good question. Although in terms of survivability, I think all top 20 coins will survive any crash only because crash will bring more investors. But if we consider price drop levels way below like %50-80, I think some coins won't be devalued that much. I expect BNB for example not to drop in value much, Uniswap either as its great profitable platform that will automatically bring more interest. I think Ethereum will still stay strong as its one of the main networks of many altcoins/tokens. I also think Monero won't drop much as its one of only safest privacy coins. That feature alone will help its demand and price.

Things are much different than how bitcoin and alts were at the end of last bull. Bitcoin mining yield are lower and most of the supplies are frozen or bought by institutions and hedge funds which would prevent it from crashing rapidly. Many alts too are now much more dependent on their use case than market manipulation. There sure would be a correction or bear after such rapid increase, but the rate at which the coins would decrease would be uneven.

Does it means an altcoin will survive in the side of price? I mean its price movement remain stable not dump like another coin when bear market comes? I don' think so, most crypto currency price will follow bitcoin price movement, give me one altcoin that has a good price movement when bitcoin price is down it mean in the bearish market? I bet there is no single altcoin which can do that. Take a look at a year ago before bull run market came, ETH price was touched $35 at that time although there were so many DeFi token already. It means, it doesn't matter how good the altcoin function is its price will dump when bitcoin price dump.

I did not understand what you are talking about. The traders with USD pair will always make money even in a bear market while investors in other words traders will loose money  ::). Trader does not mean anyone who is booking their profit even in bear market. Once the market reverses no one in the right sense will invest and they will rather wait for the market to stabilize to invest again.

I think this depends on your approach to investing or trading in the capital market for example if you trade the capital market hours a margin trader. that is in use leverage and control them direction of the market is bullish or bearish then you wouldn't really have a problem if the market reverses and turns bearish you would only look for a good coin that is highly liquid and has the probability for long reversal and then short it and make profit

Anything can happen with crypto. Right now the strongest support that I can see is the $25,000 price range. I'm not saying that Bitcoin below $20,000 isn't possible but that scenario has a low chance of happening (about 5% at most I think).

What I'm trying when I say that is that their price will go low yes and its normal since we are in a bear market but they will not stop upgrading. If bear market come any time  it's hard to go in profit for any altcoins. When market falls and bitcoin too. Automatically all other coins started to fall and they fall badly than bitcoin. So when bear market come it's better to convert all your token to usdt or any stable coin. In last bear market there are few token those who perform better than bitcoin one of them is chainlink. But it's really hard to find one. So it will be better if you consider stable coins as your saviour.

No one can guarantee that the price of bitcoin and altcoin will return to new heights of all time. like now, we never thought that the price of bitcoin had a very significant increase in price. maybe in the future, the price of Bitcoin will experience a higher price increase from now on as the bull market skyrockets

Bearish market already occurred as you can see, 57k to 44k really quick, that's occurred only a 3 weeks after the bullrun happen and we don't know yet how long these will get back to 54k range and if this will happen again I guess it will continue up to 60k in the next couple of months. Almost all of the altcoins are being affected when the btc drops rapidly. I don't think the bullrun is not finish yet. I guess it will happen again and cryptocurrency will surely reach there ATH. It's hard to trade this days when market is down and all we have to do is cut our losses and hold for a while.

I am actually wondering what will happen once we are in the bear period. Since many of the veterans have earned so much during this bull period, and the many who were not able to buy during the peak and has been waiting for a bear period to happen, if all of them started buying so much of the popular alt coins like ETH for example and then many of just bought during the bear period, would that affect the coins at that point, making them rise in value again? I mean I do wish that the popular coins go back to the 2018 levels where it is comfortable to buy them at that period.

It's not true at all. The movement of top coins are following bitcoin and when bitcoin turn into the bearish mode and the altcoins will be following it, It can't be argued until the coins got a big update like ADA that can pump the price and create FOMO. You must know the difference and it's not the major coins were always having very strong fundamental because it will always be affecting by bitcoin.

Everything has change when Elon gives hype to the market and more people are buying crypto but the moment he stops being active in his tweet, that also the moment people started to sell off their cryptos. That is what is happening now and I also do think the market will fall if people do the worse and panic.

If the market will continue to behave like this and people don't stop selling their coins at low, we gonna expect a huge dump trend to follow. But hopefully, it never turns like that and we able to recover back shortly after these few declines.

IIRC, the previous bull run which started last 2017, it happened in the last quarter of the year and lasted until the first quarter of the next year, so that's at least 6 months of bullish run but in the next year the market is not so bullish compared to the previous year so probably since we already in the last month of the first quarter, maybe the price will not be a bullish and correction will start, that's based on my personal analysis also and I could be wrong.

I don't think Bitcoin will see 20k USD again, even if it see that would be very short time and something like flash crash. I'm not expecting a bear market this month. All technical analysis' show the dip of the dip as over 34k USD. So 20k USD for a Bitcoin is a dream even in a bear market.

I may be wrong but Ripple will stay strong in the market even if the bear market sets in now, things are hanging in the Ripple case, unless there's negative feedback, in fact even if the market is in a bear trend if there is positive feedback on their case Ripple will have a big pump, compared to other coins Ripple is outperforming other coins in the market no wand this is very surprising.  

If we're speculating about xrp next month, the possibility would break the resistance right now and while price stabilized  within $0.4, we shouldn't give up. It seems too soon to say that bitcoin will drop this month below $20k. But if that happens there will  certainly be a lot of  weak altcoins,  perhaps altcoins

I do not remember how many months each bull run lasted in the past rallies but if your calculation is true then we might be at the end of this rally in a couple of months but we cannot predict exactly the market situation because the adoption rate is increasing with the passing years and we have to assume that the first two rallies were by small time investors but now there are billions invested during this rally and the correction has to do with when these big investors will book their profit.

We cannot say that the first two rallies did not have any help from billionaires, there were huge investors who invested millions in the market and so was the reason the market started rallying the first time and then the last rally too we had huge investment from financial firms but those were not public knowledge but now investing in bitcoin is not a taboo anymore and hence you will hear many companies accept investing in bitcoin.

The market is recovering from the dip now. Bitcoin dropped to $43k, Ethereum to $1400. Also, XRP dropped around 20-30%. If it is a bear market then every crypto will be affected. There are some cryptos that move oppositely with the market, besides them, every crypto will go down.

I have checked the charts and from the looks of it, we are still seeing good performance from Bitcoin and the top alts. So it is good to say that we are not yet on a bear period and we all not need to worry for the meantime. But of course, with all the good would always come the bad and the bear. The bear period will come and we must be ready for it. Ready to hold a little more and then use our previous bulls' profits to buy more in the bear period.

I don't think it is that easy to just conclude based on how the market started in the beginning of the month determines how the rest of the month will be like. Crypto market is a very volatile thing and can change any time even with all the TA, we still see a different out come some times.   

So far the bear market was not yet coming, and no signs that can be seen which may tell us that it would happen anytime soon. What happen to bitcoin about last week was just a price correction and i do expect that price correction may take place even in the highest point of high price of bitcoin and this was a great opportunity to take advantage to buy it if you can afford. So far, a green arrow were there indicating a good market ahead. And i guess if a bear market were happening the top altcoins may follow.

I don't think the bear market will come in this early, we are still in celebration mode after Bitcoin hit the $50k mark, and continue is not going down below $15 the dip is just a correction, something that always happens in the market from time to time, we have a very strong buying support now, compared the last two years.

Every year Bitcoin falls in price in March and that becomes a theorem.  Everyone carefully trades in March. The best evidence is that in March 2020 the market crashed deeply, which is the black market of the crypto market.  All of the DAOs could not be back on time.  I respect the past and I am dealing with as carefully as possible.

I think the march crash last year was related to a general sell off on all types of financial assets like stocks and derivatives. Mainly due to the corona lockdowns all around the world people got really scared. At the moment prices are still strong, so I wouldn't be selling any of my coins. I have been thinking lot of investors increase of this year so that's why not pumping crypto market. If you can manage profits from bull run then don't think about bear market. Because the amount of your future profit in crypto is uncertain and you can do something better if you want to by using bull run. The situation in the crypto market has changed in the last few years, so it will be a waste of time to think about the bear market.

I don't see bears coming any time soon in light of the fact that more cash are as yet coming into crypto, this may be the more extended buyer market we will see this time around, there's nothing left but to play safe and continue to take benefit. I earnestly don't wish to see the bear market soon, combined with the way that more institutional financial backers are coming into the market, yet that doesn't imply that the bear market can't sneak in whenever.

It is always possible, none can know what will happen. If the bear market starts next month and BTC starts getting down, there are some altcoins that will be affected by this movement. Maybe top altcoins like BNB and ETH can survive but l can not say the same thing about other altcoins. But l can not imagine BTC at 20k, which means BTC has lost 60% of this current price, maybe more than that. It is not impossible to see flash crash on the crypto markets, we have seen worse. Before 2014, BTC price has crashed more than 400% in a day, the prices were more volatile compared today's market conditions. It has happened due to the lack of liquidity, one big sell order can ate all the buy limit orders on order book.

The thing though is that I will say that we are still very much in the bullish phase, we haven't touch the top yet at least for bitcoin. So fundamentals say that we shouldn't panic, we might see the price going down, but it's just part of the ecosystem.

After ETH and BNB reaches it's all time high, the price suddenly drops together with bitcoin. But we are slowly gaining some traction again and this month might be slow by eventually we will see a good bounce, probably in the range of the last top price.

we are still in bullish phase as companies are still buying their bitcoin shares in the market. just recently the NYDIG bought again about $200M worth of BTC coming from various investors. i guess, this scenario is not stopping anytime soon. this is only an example of a company that publicly declared their buying spree. how about other companies that are secretly stashing some BTCs?

The chances are very thin that BTC will fall below 20K but you never know  this is crypto space any thing can happen any time,. All technical gurus believe that BTC will stay above 50K and strong possibility exists that it might hit 70K during 2021. As long as BTC stays above 50K, the alts will continue performing. I think Polkadot, ADA, LINK and  LTC are good projects and they have not shown their real colour as yet. We might see good rally in these alts in coming weeks and months.

BTC dropped $3,000 if people still remember during the last bear market, so $20k from $60k or $70k if btc achieve it is not impossible, not even a thin chance as you were saying.

Even when things are going so well, there's are still alot fear and uncertainty, it's clearly written that bitcoin is going to moon probably till the end of this year maybe, currently I don't think bitcoin can go below $20k , it will take alot of bad news to make bitcoin dump to that level, and there is any bad news just good news from all angles so bitcoin will keep pumping, but if eventually the dumping starts every single altcoin in the market will be affected excluding stablecoins, eth can even dump back to $100 no altcoin will be able to withstand the dump no matter their community support.

I don’t know the ones that are going to be standing at high prices when the Bears hit the market, but I don’t think that these top altcoins will be increasing when the Bears arrive , they are likely to start going down with bitcoin when the time comes, since that’s what they do best, correlating with Bitcoin and they are doing this most of the time, although they are not going to fall heavily like Bitcoin when the times comes.

Ripple has been facing a lot this year and if Bears should hit, it might be affected and might fall and decrease in price. It has already gone down the coinmarketcap list

of course, people who have understood and have seen the crypto market move in bears and bulls. The situation when the bears come will put all crypto assets in decline, and there will be a lot of adoption of stable assets. but to see assets that could withstand the bear season that may come in the future. If the bear market happens, expect the majority of the cryptocurrencies experience crashes but for sure that there will be some coin that will be against the trends or what they call outliers. For me the best thing that we should when the bear arrives is to stay in cash wherein we should not hold any coin other than USDT. Stable coins like USDT can help us to prevent to hold coins that will experience many dumps.

I do not know when the bear market will finally happen but be sure that we are ready because there is no such thing a forever uptrend so be sure that we already have plans whenever the bear market appear. The best thing to do right now is to backtest on what happen when the bear market appear on the year 2018, a lot of coin dump wherein a lot get delisted. In bear market you should expect Bitcoin decrease 80% in value so from $60k to $12k if bear market starts now.  It will of course not happen immediately but will take over a year time. Hopefully we will see Bitcoin price way over $60k so that 80% drop will not be so low. :)

Bitcoin price won't drop more than $ 40k or around 30% from its current price. I think that the Bitcoin bear market this year is only around minus 30% or 40% of its current price.

I think bear market will not happen next month or next year because this year the price is rising and we are experience still the bullish market and we earn profit. Ethereum and ripple will be good also during the bear market but we are not sure about that because as of now we are see the coins are pumping and most of it are increase many times from the value in the last several years.

Your assumption still positive might experienced some correction to the point that it will hit that low, but after that it possibly bounce back just how it's doing right now.

Well we have seen this before during the first ATH that happened with Bitcoin in 2017. We see all these weak hands that fell to the trap when Bitcoin and most alts started plummeting to the bottom. Excluding stablecoins all another coins would suffer during a bear market, that is what happens when bitcoin is affected. Altcoins just follow the trend, being it negative or positive. However, it doesn't mean it would be the end of these altcoins. They would suffer, but would still survive and recover after the bear market's end. $20k is not impossible but you need to wait for a heavy manipulation or negative factor that might pull it down to that price, but in crypto everything is unpredictable. We cannot predict what coin will survive if bear markets strikes anytime, maybe only those who have strong foundation and strong community might survive.

Going back to $20k is still possible because dropping from 50k price point or way beyond -50% had been seen on this market for how many times thats why we shouldnt really be that confident that
