Google has started to use that to create partnerships, thus enhancing his grip and monopoly while Facebook has been reactive by blocking news from Australia.
I think that Google has made the right move. Facebook has reached and agreement with the Murdoch Group and there will be many others. While Australia gets away with the tax, Facebook has used the opportunity to enhance its competitive "moat" by reaching agreements that will keep away possible small challengers. It will only benefit the big on the end. With this new development, I envisage a situation where other countries of the world will follow suit, and pass new regulations as well that will see local outlets been compensated for their media work being featured on their page. This move will see that the earnings of local media personnel's will increase for the better. |
