Title: Recover Electrum Wallet
Post by: jawjahpeach on February 26, 2021, 11:24:32 PM
My wallet is stored on a thumb drive.  I just tried to open it.  It's been named default wallet since I got it several years ago.  When I opened it, the message said that file does not exist.  I closed out and started over.  The next time and every time since, when I open the folder, it says this folder is empty.  That folder contained all files for the wallet.  I downloaded another wallet 4.0.9 from electrum.org.  When I attempted to open it, it says that file does not exist.  How do I proceed to getting my wallet back?  I have seed and password.

I have resolved the issue but cannot delete the post.  Thanks anyway.

How did you resolve the issue?

I know it's solved without explanations but for safety purposes:
Next time, you must not directly open a backup of the file because Electrum will try to upgrade it and if corruption occurs, you'll lose your digital backup.
It's best to copy the file and use that copy instead.

Please reconsider this reply by hugeblack from your previous thread:

Problem resolved, but not allowed to delete my own post.
Why do you want to delete the topic? On the contrary, it will be better for others as they will find the answer directly without asking again or searching on Google.
Generally how is your problem solved? -snip-
