Code: https://bitcóin.org/en/ https://i.imgur.com/bwRRHj0.png I have reported it right away and I do hope that it will be taken down ASAP. Title: Re: [Be Aware]: Fake bitcoin.org Post by: Jating on February 28, 2021, 08:24:34 AM I check the site, it seems that it is displaying differently because it is redirecting to site:
Code: https://www.superbrightleds.com/ I also look at the domain information, and it is up for sale, and this is the ip address: Code: 185.178.208.162 - 53 other sites hosted on this server Title: Re: [Be Aware]: Fake bitcoin.org Post by: plr on February 28, 2021, 08:38:49 AM I check the site, it seems that it is displaying differently because it is redirecting to site: Code: https://www.superbrightleds.com/ I also look at the domain information, and it is up for sale, and this is the ip address: Code: 185.178.208.162 - 53 other sites hosted on this server There's a possibility that the owner of both sites is one, I have the forum bookmarked, there's always a phishing site trying to hack member's account, members account especially those of high rank commands a good price in the market, so if you have a good rank be sure you have your account secured and your address staked here. Unfortunately, they won't show any of my google searches due to an ad blocker. Thanks for pointing out, anyway.Title: Re: [Be Aware]: Fake bitcoin.org Post by: Furious 7 on February 28, 2021, 03:25:59 PM there is already on google ads (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5197078.msg56447558#msg56447558), just type bitcoin core into google search box then you will find much of them. I know that many Bitcoin Core now use it to store BTC. Seems like a weird imitation, as usually the phishers go for misspellings rather than using a symbol like that over the "o" like this one did. I don't know who would mistakenly type that out, but it'd probably fool a lot of people if it showed up in search results. Thanks for the heads up, OP. I'm not sure how many bitcointalk users would have fallen for this, but the warning certainly can't hurt. I reported already the site on its registrar (namecheap) after seeing this thread, hope they eventually act on the report and take proper actions. Don't worry I'm into this, people here should be the ones to act to report such sites. |
