Title: BTC lottery
Post by: looking4fin.partner on March 12, 2021, 06:32:48 PM
Hi there.
Long ago in a galaxy far away I made a BTC lottery for my customer (the BTC price was approx 180 USD). The idea was simple and used by almost all BTC lotteries in those galaxy. You bet for numbers in the next chain. There was a jackpot as well. The project ran on production but few (5+) years ago it disappeared. At the moment I still have a working code without any obligations to customer. Are there anyone want to deploy it?

I had the same idea a while ago so this seems pretty interesting.
What technologies are being used for this project?
There is always room for improvement before deploying especially if the project is 5+ years old.

You should give us the information and a sample of your BTC lottery what you had was five years ago and it might not be relevant today, it's better that we see a sample if you are going to sell it and coders can check the code for vulnerabilities of the script.
I guess the OP is introducing is the lottery where people have to guess the block number that will be mine at a certain time since it's something that has to with betting numbers in the next chain. But, none of the cryptocurrency projects I know flourish, they all disappear at some point while the investors counted their losses.
I guess crypto enthusiasts focus more on trading, speculation, investment, and other forms of gambling (which lottery is precluded).

Lottery business is quite not appealing here anymore since if you look at the gambling section many investors tried to create this type of business but they failed since many gamblers preferred those different type of games, maybe if you could put an additional games there provably there are investor will take a risk and try to operate this. Anyways good luck and also better give more details about this offered so that the curious investor can get an clear idea about this.

Fact!

Its better to find out another games that should be focused on rather than on pursuing the lottery project because it would really be just a waste of effort and resources
if you do make one but still do fail out because theres no much interest or demand into these kind of games.

Better to make something interesting or doesnt really seen into this market which is more worth for the time and effort to be used on
rather than on developing things which you do know that it isnt something that would make a hit.

Hi guys,

thank you very much for all answers. I'm sure all of you are right. But what if this old app can be like once more additional service of any bigger web site with online entertainments?

Please note, I don't work as programmer for a long time and there is even no company anymore. The web site is still exists but we changed our business and all IT develoeprs works on internal projects. But anyway, you can see what was deployed a long ago here:

Let me know if it might be interesting and I'll be happy to find any touch points.

Some ideas:
1. It will need a little polishing since Multibit and Mt.Gox are ... part of the history.
2. It could be an idea for advertising to make it work with testnet coins.
3. It could be an idea to make it work on LN with much smaller amounts. Some may play it simply because it's on LN.

Of curse, for #2 and #3 you should lower the required funds (and the prize) and maybe show a progress (how many tickets are needed) until the next draw.

Did that here no one played, freebitcoin pretty much so has the lottery aspect on lock , however if someone deploys a LN micro lotto id be down. @op you need more information really. that games called blockchain lottery BTW, (16 players (0-f) call out a block and last digit of TXID that's hashed for that block.
I tried this with google sheets and 1000 satoshi, even loycev and other major supporters of LN didn't want to risk 1000 sats or care to anyways. Im learning almost all development on LN really is #reckless and nothing really gets followed up on.  I used to be a really big supporter on LN and its concepts but it doesn't get the attention it deserves so I opted out and closed all nodes/channels.

OK guys,  thanks a lot for your feedback. As I see it can be restarted without big efforts. But as for me, I'm not a programmer any more. YEAH, fat and lazy manager now  ;D So, if anybody wish to use it for some business purposes just let me know. I'll be happy to share it. If not, then let it rust further.
