Title: [ANN] [BNBTC] BNbitcoin: 100% PoW-mineable BEP-20 token on the BNB Smart Chain Post by: BNbitcoin on March 13, 2021, 09:33:07 PM BNbitcoin BEP-20 PoW-mineable experimental token on the BNB Smart Chain. Trustless. Permissionless. Decentralized. Informational website: https://bnbitcoin.org BNbitcoin is an experimental BEP20 adaptation for the BNB Smart Chain of the original 0xBitcoin project on Ethereum. Some parameters also have been modified to make BNBTC closer to the original design by Satoshi Nakamoto. The reason why BNBTC is born: after the DeFi massive widespread on the Ethereum mainnet, gas fees for transactions have become too high. This has a relevant and heavy impact on all the projects, and particularly if considering mined-tokens: submitting solutions and claiming rewards have become too expensive. The alternative is offered on the BNB Smart Chain with its lower gas fees, fastness and smart-contract execution capabilities. BNBTC token features: BNB Smart Chain network Contract address: 0xE7Cb24F449973D5B3520E5b93D88B405903c75Fb Token symbol: BNBTC Token decimals: 8 Total supply: 21'000'000 How to start mining (SOLO MINING!! no pools yet): You can use the mining sw already used for 0xBitcoin (i.e. MVis-tokenminer) , but with the following settings: Target contract address: 0xE7Cb24F449973D5B3520E5b93D88B405903c75Fb RPC URL: https://bsc-dataseed.binance.org You have to use an address with some BNB on the BNB Smart Chain to pay the gas fees. Follow the latest news about the BNB Smart Chain to properly set gasPrice and gasLimit, since data may change dynamically. Tested both with CPU (Intel/AMD) and GPU (NVIDIA, older and newer). Tested successfully also on other main BNB RPC URLs Have a nice mining! ;D 🔒 Legal Disclaimer This announcement is for informational purposes only and does not constitute an offer of securities, financial products, or investment opportunities in any jurisdiction. Title: Re: [ANN] [BNBTC] BNbitcoin: PoW mined bitcoin on Binance Smart Chain Post by: BNbitcoin on March 14, 2021, 12:42:28 AM For example, for a starting config for solo-mining, you can download the latest copy of MVis-tokenminer here (https://github.com/mining-visualizer/MVis-tokenminer/releases).
Unzip the miner, and edit the tokenminer.ini file to adapt it for the BNBTC token and the Binance Smart Chain in the following sections: Host=https://bsc-dataseed.binance.org RPCPort=[leave this field empty] MinerAcct=[0x... your miner account with some BNB balance] AcctPK=[private key of your miner account without 0x prefix] TokenContract=0xE7Cb24F449973D5B3520E5b93D88B405903c75Fb GasPrice=10 [..or more according the mining competitors...] GasLimit=100000 [ore more...] You can set the other parameters according your hardware configuration (TempProvider, ThrottleTemp, ShutDown) Once you have set tokenminer.ini you can create (or modify if it already exists) a "start-mining.bat" file with: .\tokenminer.exe -G -S pause (this is valid for GPU-based mining, for CPU you have to replace -G with -C). Then you go, with a command prompt, in the miner folder and launch .\start-mining.bat I suggest to keep a bscscan.com window open on the contract and refresh it to check the alignment between your activity and the rest of the miners interacting with the contract. For further details about MVis-tokenminer you can visit their GitHub repo here (https://github.com/mining-visualizer/MVis-tokenminer). Thanks for your interest in the project! You do not give your private key to anyone: it is needed to submit solutions of the challenge to the contract to claim the reward. Check also 0xbitcoin: it exists from 3 years on now and nobody has never stolen a single satoshi... Please, be careful prior to shoot wrong statements... Look yourself at the smart contract: function mint(uint256 nonce, bytes32 challenge_digest) public returns (bool success) { //the PoW must contain work that includes a recent BSC block hash (challenge number) and the msg.sender's address to prevent MITM attacks bytes32 digest = keccak256(challengeNumber, msg.sender, nonce ); //the challenge digest must match the expected if (digest != challenge_digest) revert(); //the digest must be smaller than the target if(uint256(digest) > miningTarget) revert(); //only allow one reward for each challenge bytes32 solution = solutionForChallenge[challengeNumber]; solutionForChallenge[challengeNumber] = digest; if(solution != 0x0) revert(); //prevent the same answer from awarding twice uint reward_amount = getMiningReward(); balances[msg.sender] = balances[msg.sender].add(reward_amount); tokensMinted = tokensMinted.add(reward_amount); //Cannot mint more tokens than there are assert(tokensMinted <= maxSupplyForEra); //set readonly diagnostics data lastRewardTo = msg.sender; lastRewardAmount = reward_amount; lastRewardBscBlockNumber = block.number; _startNewMiningEpoch(); Mint(msg.sender, reward_amount, epochCount, challengeNumber ); return true; } I hope someone who's reading this post, and knows the 0xbitcoin project, can explain, maybe better than us and with other words, that their account is safe. Our contract derives from 0xbitcoin contract (https://etherscan.io/address/0xb6ed7644c69416d67b522e20bc294a9a9b405b31#code), and it is identical in terms of state-modifying functions. You are free to not trust in the token mining system, but please, do not offend honest people. Title: Re: [ANN] [BNBTC] BNbitcoin: PoW mined bitcoin on Binance Smart Chain Post by: BNbitcoin on March 14, 2021, 06:12:57 PM Important notice:
Some users are complaining because we said that inside the miner tokenminer.ini settings of the MVis-tokenminer app, the private key is required, while they have never used their private key for mining. Let's make the following clarifications: For SOLO mining (the configuration we refer to) the private key is necessary to sign the minting transactions. For POOL mining (as we think that many user experienced this kind of 0xbitcoin mining) the private key is not requested. This Youtube video (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W-gLERwzKno) clarifies this aspect Today we do not have pools ready for BNbitcoin (and there is no need of pools since difficulty is low), exactly like 3 years ago in the earlier days after 0xbitcoin contract deployment. The two ways of mining are different: with pool mining the miner contributes with his computational resources (powerful GPU or mining rig), but does not pay any fee for submitting solutions (and this is the reason why the private key is not required). In this case the private key of the pool masternode account is used to sign the transaction towards the contract (and hence is the masternode account that pays the gas fees and takes the reward which is after splitted between the contributors/miners proportionally to the shared computational power). For solo mining you are the pool of yourself, then you are your own masternode and you have to use your account + your private key to submit minting solutions to the contract and to pay the gas fees. Now it's clear that both wanganxiu and miner29 were referring to pool mining, but we refer to the solo mining (like in post #3) because today no pools are available: this alignment was necessary. Some elses is not the same as this one being audited...you are making a false equivalence. Get it audited not point to another and say we are same..... Yes, for sure we will ask for an audit to have confirmation that the contract is 100% aligned with the 0xbitcoin contract. But we are sure when we say that the contract is equivalent because in Solidity there are 2 kinds of functions: 1) State-modifying functions (transfer, mint,...) which alter the state of the blockchain and require gas to be activated. 2) Callable (read-only) functions (name, symbol,...): they do not alter the state of the blockchain and hence do not consume gas. The BEP-20 (https://github.com/binance-chain/BEPs/blob/master/BEP20.md) standard for the Binance Smart Chain, at paragraph 5.1.1.6, requires an extended method getOwner() function not available in the EIP-20 standard: this method is a read-only function (point 2) above) that provides the contract owner address when called. We introduced such function to be compliant with BSC, but all the state-modifying functions have been left unaltered in their structures respect to the 0xbitcoin smart contract. You can verify this by comparing the deployed source codes. so for me it aggregates all benefits. Title: Re: [ANN] [BNBTC] BNbitcoin: PoW mined bitcoin on Binance Smart Chain Post by: crnxhh on April 25, 2021, 10:44:57 AM there must be a misunderstanding.
As far as i can see bnbtc just USES the fact that bsc has fixed the high gas fees. The fees are much lower to mine and especially trade compared to e.g. 0xbtc. The source has just been audited by the community. It is no rocket science to understand the contract and its functions. Anyone with some basic solidity knowledge can do this. Since it's a PoW community project not funded by big companys, having ICOs, presales or big developer wallets, there is only the community who could pay the 10k USD to pay such an audit. There is a project development funding wallet where donations for such things can be sent. See the website for details. BNBTC is listed on CMC since a while: https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/bnbitcoin/ A community contributor created a page to view the actual contract stats. http://bnbitcoin.xyz There are currently more than 4.000.000 BNBTC beeing minted, distributed to 3289 holders, while this number is increasing every day. Currently overall hashrate has just been massively increased and is now about 9-10 TH. Just for comparsion: a NVIDIA RTX 3080 GPU does about 1800MH/s, so this is the equivalent of about 5500 such GPUs. Not bad for a "SCAM" token, right? ;) Title: Re: [ANN] [BNBTC] BNbitcoin: PoW mined bitcoin on Binance Smart Chain Post by: BNbitcoin on July 12, 2022, 04:47:23 PM BNBTC is live and strong, an update was needed to this post! :)

Fortunately for BNBTC, mining isn’t tied to the network’s security but only to its distribution method. As a result, the protection offered by the BNB Chain remains intact, and users can rest assured that a 51% attack won’t be possible even if a farm with a huge number of FPGAs—or even ASICs—were to appear overnight. I think this is a big advantage compared to all the other fairly distributed PoW-mined projects out there. Anyway there are rumors that community developers are working on this specific topic... We’ll see what happens in the coming months... In any case, it will be up to the community to decide what to do if new proposals arise. Title: Re: [ANN] [BNBTC] BNbitcoin: PoW mined bitcoin on Binance Smart Chain Post by: BNBITCOINMINER on December 28, 2024, 07:57:00 PM BNbitcoin 1390 Days – 100% Uptime, 0 Bugs, 0 Exploits, Locked Contract, 5-30 Settlement Time
Uptime – BNbitcoin vs Bitcoin BNbitcoin has achieved 100% uptime since its deployment on the BNBChain, surpassing Bitcoin. Bitcoin Maxis are reluctant to acknowledge that Bitcoin experienced two significant halts: the first on August 15, 2010, and the second on March 10, 2013 (Bitcoinuptime.com). Exploits – BNbitcoin vs Bitcoin BNbitcoin has also outperformed Bitcoin in terms of security, as its contract is locked since deployment on the BNBChain. No modifications can be made to the BNbitcoin smart contract. Bitcoin Maxis do not want to admit that Bitcoin has been exploited twice. The first exploit occurred on August 15, 2010, due to the CVE-2010–5139 bug, which led to the minting of 184 billion BTC. The second potential exploit, CVE-2018–17144, was discovered on September 17, 2018, by a Bitcoin Cash (BCH) developer who took action before it could be exploited (medium.datadriveninvestor.com). Annual Costs – BNbitcoin vs Bitcoin BNbitcoin has surpassed Bitcoin in terms of cost efficiency, with its contract secured on the BNBChain at zero cost. In contrast, Bitcoin incurs annual costs of approximately $200 million, which continue to rise, making it an unsustainable model in the future. Finally, there is a white-hat bug bounty of $100,000 for anyone who can halt the BNbitcoin smart contract for 24 hours. Title: Re: [ANN] [BNBTC] BNbitcoin: PoW mined bitcoin on Binance Smart Chain Post by: BNbitcoin on December 31, 2024, 11:24:43 AM If BNBTC’s mining were to stop by the miners’ decision, there would be no security issues because the underlying BNB Chain network would continue to provide a very robust shield. In fact, this is also an advantage from both an environmental and security standpoint.
The nearly four years that have passed have allowed many people to clarify their thoughts about BNBTC. Time has been an impartial judge that has revealed the true nature and founding principles of the project, which is still a niche endeavor, still in its early stages. Some complain that there are no development funds, but since the project is 100% owned by the Community, even if progress is slower, any progress made is genuine (and not artificially fabricated), and that is what truly matters. After all, what is a project without a Community? The most important success of BNBTC has been bringing together people united by the same principles of transparency and impartiality, and that is truly priceless. Moreover, though small, the Community continues to grow day by day. There are undoubtedly other goals for the near future, but these are always decided and shared among Community members. The most important thing is to let people know that the project exists and they can freely participate to a trustless, provably-neutral mining project; everyone can then decide whether to ignore it or become part of it, thereby enriching the Community with new supporters or enthusiasts.
