Title: You guys ever heard of binoroix.com? Scam?
Post by: Mikeleigh30 on March 31, 2021, 10:32:18 AM
Hey,

So I got this message on discord.

....................
Top crypto giveaway from 0.001 to 0.25 bitcoin and 5 mega prizes from 0.3 to 1.5 bitcoins.
To help people in this difficult time, the Binoroix platform and our partners Bitfinex decided to hold a mass draw and distribute cryptocurrency to random Discord users
If you received this message

You are one of the winners in our GIVEAWAY
moneybagYou won: 0.28 BTC
Your promo code: #######
.............................

I just want to post this here for anyone googling for information on this website  (binoroix) that this is indeed a scam, and a cleverly designed one.

Do not sign up and certainly do not add btc to "activate your wallet"

...............................

I proceeded to signup with caution using a burner email and unique password.
I entered the promo code and DID indeed get the (FAKE) btc in my account.

But on trying to withdraw I'm asked to activate my wallet by sending 0.01btc 😅

These guys have went to a lot of trouble making this scam seem legit and I can see a lot of people falling for it.

I figured it's best to post about it here so there's something googleable for anyone else getting the same discord message.

THIS IS 100% A SCAM.  DONT FALL FOR IT.

It is an obvious scam, and I suggest that you remove all the details before you are labeled as a scammer.

Good call.   I'll delete the most of it but keep some there to warn others who might google the said website.

This is a scam accusation, so this thread would more fit on the scam accusation board instead of the Service Discussion board. This type of scam isn't new and has been running for many days. This is very easy to attract greedy users and eventually many of them fall into the trap. We should keep in mind, any site that requires deposits to withdraw from money, simply are a scammer. Nothing is free in the world, if you attempt to gain free money then it would lead to a loss of money ad well.

Users who have their dms open to non-friends are prone to such scam offers, this is me speaking from experience lol. Better close it @op, go to settings > privacy & safety > disable 'allow direct messages from server members'.

There's also whitelisting a server if you have one with trusted peeps or if you dabble with bots since some sends captcha thru dms. Same process but with privacy settings on the particular server's menu, either right click 'em or use the drop down menu next to its name.
