We at CasinosBlockchain (https://casinosblockchain.io/) have created a set of five awards recognizing the best casinos at offering cryptocurrency payments and integrating blockchain technology into your player experience.

In case you don't know us, we publish news about blockchain gaming, guides, reviews of casinos where you can play with Bitcoin and altcoins, as well as those using blockchain-based technology for things like provably fair games, which often go hand-in-hand.

What Are The Blockchain Casino Awards?
We created the Blockchain Casino Awards in recognition of the high-achievers in the crypto-gambling world.

With these awards, we aim to raise awareness towards best practices, highlighting brands that go above and beyond to offer the best cryptocurrency gambling experience.

Unlike other industry awards that have a wider scope, our five different accolades highlight core aspects of blockchain gambling, all equally important.

Consequently, all nominated casinos integrate blockchain technology in one form or another.


Why Am I Only Hearing About This Now?
To maintain our selection's integrity, we have decided to keep the awards a secret until the very last moment.

However, we have disclosed a comprehensive list of criteria (https://casinosblockchain.io/blockchain-casino-awards-criteria/) alongside the winner announcements for the sake of transparency.


Why Should This Matter To Me?
There are many "casino awards" out there, but they are mostly generic and don't really match the interests of Bitcoin gamblers.

Since our awards are more crypto-specific, they should, hopefully, be more relevant to you.

Most importantly, however, we'd like your feedback.

While we didn't ask for community feedback before selecting our winners for the integrity and secrecy issues exposed above, we did scour this forum for general opinions - subjective as they may be - for the brands, as well as other forums and websites like AskGamblers and TrustPilot.

However, if the awards are successful and generate enough interest, and people find them overall useful, we're considering including the Bitcoin gambling community into our next selection - perhaps with a community's choice award.

Any feedback or ideas, therefore, are more than welcome!

Stake is also a sportsbook, so they could also win in that criteria.
Anyway, I have nothing against the awards as that is your own opinion with basis of course, I don't want to comment of mine as I know I would be bias.

I know most of the winners but I'm more into sports betting so I know stake and cloudbet, but between the two, I'd rather choose stake.. that's my personal opinion only.

Stake actually came in second for the best sportsbook award!

And yes, there is a degree of subjectivity for each award. If you look at our criteria, however, you can see that we tried to be as objective as possible. I won't go into too much detail here, but we basically attributed numeric scorings to "factual" items like if a brand offers live streaming / if cash back is available / what currencies can you bet on, etc, then added the points (removing any "negative" points for negative aspects, like intrusive KYC), and the one with the most points was the winner.

Often (and this may not reflect the opinion of the rest of my team, I'm just speaking for myself here) the winner wasn't my personal favorite either > I also love Stake for sports betting, and it's certainly a brand that has shown a lot of improvement since they launched.

Any polling has been conducted to choose the best crypto casinos, or it is an evaluation by group of juries who have been watching different gambling platforms and the user experiences for a long time period.

I vote for 'Stake' as the best cryptocurrency casino and 'Sportbet.io' as the best cryptocurrency sportsbook. There should be an additional category for best cryptocurrency betting exchange(Fairlay).

Their sportsbook is popular these days, but it doesn't deserve any awards since their odds don't provide value majority of the time and the lag while placing live bets is messed up.

On the other hand, their casino definitely deserved numerous awards due to their designs, large number of popular games etc.

Many polls always show that the best casinos enter: Stake.com, Sportbet.io, Bitcasino.io, Roobet, Duelbits, among others, the community at bitcointalk has their favorites and the favorites always agree to be the best, maybe you can add a category of the best nascent casino, which, there are many with a lot of potential, there are already many who are carrying out a signature campaign, this makes them see that they are hungry for success.

they have  disclosed the casino awards criteria  (https://casinosblockchain.io/blockchain-casino-awards-criteria/). and maybe, the staff of the site itself rate each casino according to their listed criteria per category.
but is the site giving notice to the winners that they won in this blockchain casino awards? at least give them like a digital certificate or something, and maybe put it on their site as well.

When it comes to awards like these then it is always set on their own criteria and real user experience.I cant say it is bad but every user experience would really vary
but at least we do appreciate on how these things been put up with some effort.

For sportsbook then i would rather choose Stake or Sportsbet on that part and same goes with user experience.Im aint  fan of blockchain based though.

For people who are more active in the forum, they know what sportsbook is the best, and my personal choice based on my experience are rank as followed.

1. Sportsbet.
2. stake
3 Bitsler

These are just top 3 but I'm using different sportsbook and compare the betting odds.
OP,  you did a great job with the review, that would help more people to be as a basis in looking for a casino and sportsbook to gamble with.

Some casinos actually are adding sportsbook like stakes, so its a good thing.

This is a small site conducting a random awards ceremony based on their own criteria which is why I don't think they contacted the winners or have any plans to provide them some sort of digital certificates in the future.

They should have used a different name though instead of 'Blockchain casino awards' in my opinion.

Hi! OP here, trying to answer as much as I can about the awards.


That's an interesting idea, but at the moment we don't really have anybody on our team with experience in betting exchanges, so we wouldn't feel comfortable creating criteria for that topic. Maybe next year ;)


That's definitely something we thought about! In the end, we felt like the other awards were more relevant, but it's definitely something we'll keep in mind for next time, thanks!

So, two questions here:
1. We haven't done any polling, no, although we did look at other websites with user reviews (like AskGamblers and TrustPilot) > that was a minor rating criterion for some of the awards.
I think we really want to do a "user's choice" award next year!

As for how we graded the brands: although our opinions on which website is "best" differ quite a bit, when it came to the criteria we used the team was pretty much on the same level because they are pretty "objective" for the most part.

For instance, assuming we created a criterion for "Accepts Bitcoin", and gave it a score/weight of 100, then each casino that accepts Bitcoin gets 100 points, and each casino that doesn't scores 0 points.

2. Yes, we have indeed contacted the chosen websites, and have provided them with a digital certificate. It's up to the brands to publish them, and some have already shown interest in doing so.

I completely agree, there is always some subjectivity when it comes to these things. That's undeniable. But I also think there's some value in sharing our experience. We do our best to rate every website fairly, not just with these awards, but with our reviews as well. But we know everyone's opinion matters > that's why we have comments and let users grade the casino as well.

On a related subject, I'm also very intrigued by the psychology of gambling. I think that if you have a really good experience at a certain website at first (a very decent win), you are more likely to think that the brand is great in the long run, even if your experience, later on, isn't so good. Similarly, hard losses at first can really influence your future experience. That might explain why people have very different opinions of the same casinos and sports betting sites.

Also, of course, a customer support agent on a bad day can really sour the picture.

Can I ask, why are you not a fan that it's blockchain-based?

Well, "CasinosBlockchain" is our brand name, so we felt like "Blockchain Casino Awards" was a nice fit for us.

We also look at more than just Bitcoin-gambling (or even gambling with cryptocurrencies). For instance, one of our awards is just for casino Dapps, and we really took things like blockchain-based RNG or blockchain-inspired games into account when looking at the Crypto Games award.

So, the unifying element, and what makes our awards unique, are really "blockchain-based casinos".

What do you think would be a better name?

Do you have some list on what are the gambling sites that you had tested out overall so that people would be aware that the site they do prefer is included or not on the test?

For sure there would be lots who had missed out. Would you mind on mentioning it or you cant disclosed it out? So that people could make out recommendations or
suggestions on other gambling sites that might really fit out into your criteria and might find it interesting or good on your side.

I am not quite if it's right asking you this but I don't think that 1xbit should belong to your great list. If you can see their thread here, there are lots of unresolved scam accusation[1] on their management team and most of it are being ignored. Their announcement thread beame a "Scam Accusation" thread because of their player's complaint.

Anyhow, the website looks great on phone and on desktop/laptop.

I don't see 1xbit as a winner but I see it as one of the nominees on the best crypto sportsbook. Although it didn't win, I agree to you that they should check the integrity first if they're going to have another round for this.

On their disclosure about how they ranked it based on their criteria, they've said that they've reviewed them in the past but won't further disclose other factors. Check how they've made this list.

Enter site:bitcointalk.org bitstarz in your search engine and pay attention to the kind of threads that pop up.

Besides being a nominee, you also have a BitStarz ad at the bottom of your criteria discloser article, it's the best rated casino on your homepage, and appears on first place in the Popular Casinos category. Personally, that's a big turnoff for me.   

Your rating criteria for the "Best User Experience" is this .... "uncomplicated cryptocurrency transactions, and a safe and seamless player experience from sign up to withdrawal."  I want to say I would also include "Customer Support" and this is more important than the criteria mentioned above.

I want my problems sorted out quickly and I want 24/7 support when I struggle. The casino also need to have multiple platforms for communication.. like Telegram / Twitter etc..  ;)

I think such awards could be interested if they were organized differently. For instance, they they were held at a certain time frame, people could nominate casinos and vote for them (vote for casinos in general or give marks to casinos for certain features). Your rates cannot be impartial even if you really try to make them so. It's just in human nature to make mistakes, to have a limited and partial perspective. That's why it's important to encourage many people to participate in such matters or to at least to to take their experience into account. For instance, you gave Bitstarz the first place even though it's reputation on Bitcointalk is pretty bad with multiple scam accusations.

I have seen your criteria of scoring/grading the casinos and sportsbooks but did you consider having the community give names of sites they gamble on to make this more competitive because all I saw was fortunejack, 1xbit, cloudbet, stake and a few others I have seen here on bitcointalk!

BTW Didn't see duelbits or roobet anywhere on the list, did they fail to make the cut? AFAIK these would give any crypto casino a run for their money!

When you don't see those known gambling sites on these kind of review sites then its most likely that it had been missed out or just been ignored but if I were them

then they should always consider on what is the current demand or current famous sites so that people would be at least interest on reading up these kind of reviews.

Hey! If you check our criteria page (https://casinosblockchain.io/blockchain-casino-awards-criteria/), you can see that indeed we do include customer support availability as one of our criteria! It's also one of the items we analyze in our reviews.


Having a people's choice award is something we are thinking of doing next year exactly because of what you say: it's important to encourage others to participate and share their opinions.

Of course, the "majority's" opinion is also flawed: there's no way to ensure a representative audience. For instance, the people here on Bitcointalk aren't the only Bitcoin casino players - although perhaps the most vocal. That's why we think it should be done for one of the awards, and not all.

And I agree: no rating is impartial, and no two people's opinions are alike. I do think our criteria are pretty solid, however, and allow for a relatively objective rating. Every single criterion has a numerical rating, associated to (in most cases) a pretty "clear-cut" item.

For instance (purely hypothetical, here), we might give 10 points for "holding a gambling license". All casinos that fit that description will get the 10 points, all that don't, get zero points.

Not for this year's awards, as they have been decided already, but we'd be more than glad to consider reviewing websites at the community's request. If you have any suggestions about that, please send them over!

Roobet is one casino that recently entered our radar, and that it's growing on us! It didn't make the cut for this year's awards, but we do have a review (https://casinosblockchain.io/roobet-review/) of it.

We'd love to have a review about every single Bitcoin casino out there. The thing is, it takes us a long time to play-test and review a website.

We rather have a small group of reviews (at the moment we have 29) than having many but with sloppy content.

We also often revisit our reviews and update them with new information, which also takes time.
